What you see in the first hour of the game is basically what you see for the entire game. The gameplay isn't interesting, and doesn't change throughout the campaign--despite adding a few structures that are very situational. The story, characters, and music really are not a draw either. This feels overpriced at $13 USD, and after two hours of wearing out its welcome, I finished it just to see if it got better. It …

I just finished my first playthrough - saw the first 4 levels of the campaign (out of the 12 total) and 2 biomes (out of 6). What I really like about this game is the aesthetics and the unique gamplay idea. Biomes have different features, so you have to adjust your strategy to …

Addictive as hell (if it was more watery than firey). The individual sessions are short, but you want to give it another go with each level. I don't have time for strategies, which end up in building a city in months or days. And yet there is much depth (no pun intended) in this one. The time pressure when you know you can win, just before you loose everything is thrilling. This is perfect and the gamepad controls …

Why is does this game has a pause if you can't do anything while in pause ? Why does this game introduce mechanics that destroys your building BEFORE introducing you to how you can deal with it ? Why can't I specify that I want my quarry/forrester to use only my exces water instead of running everything dry and stopping my entire economy ? Why is there a cookie-clicker type mecanics in this game ? Why do I have access to technologies for stuff that have not even yet been introduced to me ?…

The "tiles being flooded" concept is the only thing going for this game. I really mean it. And that magic goes off after a couple of levels... maybe 2 hours ? First of all, the campaign is really, really really bad. The story could have been written by a child, and the attempts at humor are an embarrassment for humankind. But the worst thing is that the last map of the campaign doesn't even implement HALF of what's challenging / interesting in the game. You have plenty of tiles to use…

It unfortunately does not offer much. The gameplay is ridiculously easy and most of the main campaign you can steam right through without much resistance, and you will not experience anything interesting in terms of gameplay mechanics. The writing and plot are very simple, feeling almost childish at times. Graphically it looks sorta neat if you like pixel graphic stuff.

I'm not good at reviewing games, so I'll keep it simple: PROS + unique mechanic of a shrinking island + nice graphics (although maybe not everyone's cup of tea) + good value for money (story mode + skirmish + endless) + addictive gameplay + clear tutorial CONS - sometimes it may be difficult to tell some buildings apart (especially when they're the same type, next to each…

This game is exactly what it says it is. However be aware that this game can take hecktic to the next level. You have to build up your colony with limited space and resources as fast as you can as the island gets smaller and smaller. Then you add on RTS style defense systems on top of that. Add in all sorts of negative events, 2 layerd maps and more. If this sounds fun to you then this is probably what you are looking for. If any of this sounds like a bit more stress than you can handle…

Cool small tactical game. Graphics, sound and story are basic, but you're getting this for the gameplay which is very good. Furthermore, the game is polished and games generally take up to 30 minutes. Depending on the type of player you are it will provide 10-20 hours of game time.

The gameplay was quite enjoyable the first couple chapters, but after figuring out the game a bit more, the game becomes a slog to go through. The campaign is pretty easy to go through with the only other modes being quick match and endless. Quick match was essentially randomizing/picking objectives and obstacles in a match. Sadly no rewards attacked to quick match (outside of steam achievements) so it is just a slightly reskinned campaign with no appeal for replayability. Endless mode wouldn't…

So far it's good. The flooding mechanic is very interesting and refreshing. It took me a while to understand that building more houses to get more civilians gives you more resources, I had to lose a couple of times before figuring it out. The build up of new mechanic is interesting. So far my biggest downside is that you can't save in the middle of a game, forcing you to either quit or leave the game open. It can sometime be hard to be stuck in a game for 30 min and the "gem" rewarded for how…

Recommending this game for its unique game mechanics. It has its own gameplay at least own kind of the games that I have played. A bit cozy and would group with games that is pixelated. Overall the game is about doing the random task to go to the "next age" to unlock other technology that will help you and reach the goals easier. Game is okay. Strategy game where you build your city on an island that gets smaller and smaller as it goes underwater. Relatively short, a bit more than 10+ hours to get all achievements and that already felt repetitive / grindy. The gameplay doesn't evolve that much during the campaign and overall this game does not seem to have a lot of depth.
