Floor 9
Developer Room Games
Nine floors down to the exit of Hotel Liminal. Some are exactly as they should be. Some hide an anomaly. Everything depends on spotting the difference, and one mistake sends you back to the top. From the Steam store page

Truly, this review should be neutral, but I decide it to be negative. Pros: - cheap - good optimization - pleasurable graphics Cons: - too tedious anomaly search. Yes, just one cons, but for me it overweights all the pros. The anomaly generation in this game is bugged. Some of the anomalies are very obvious and easy to spot and some are hided in dim areas or in the small pieces of surruondings (you have to see very …

The game is very good; the horror elements have increased compared to the demo. I wouldn't recommend playing it alone at night I thought I could finish it quickly, but even a professional player like me took 78 minutes to complete it.

It's a good anomaly game, it challenges you to pay attention to details and be patient to study every corner of the hallway. Even though you can only change the resolution in the settings, it runs smoothie, not even a complaint. I didn't encounter any bugs. The only drawback is that, after 2 hours of literally HUNTING the anomalies, I couldn't find them all, some of them repeat too often. Apart from that, it's a …

⭐ 7/10 – A Terrifyingly Brilliant Anomaly Horror Experience! ⭐ Floor 9 is an absolute must-play for fans of eerie, unsettling horror games. Developed by Room Games, this experience keeps you on edge from start to finish. The atmosphere is incredibly tense, with dimly lit hallways, flickering lights, and an ever-present sense of dread that something is watching you. The anomaly-based horror mechanics feel fresh and …

You feel like a detective while playing the game. You need to remember even the little details. It prevents you from getting Alzheimer's because you use your brain to the fullest lol :D

Why is it always a Troll?! 🧌 Wishlist DeAnima on Steam and try the free demo... and if you see a Troll - run! 😂 #roguelike #dungeoncrawler #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev
neutral · AI labelView post →Wow this game is just a cash grab, and the comments are highly likely to be botted. If you want an anomly game you should just look at False Mall, Exit 8 & Shinkansen 0 those had way more effort put into them. This game has probably 5 more anomalies than its demo. Jesus.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the anomaly games but this one didn't quite scratch the itch. The "map" is pretty small and there is not a lot to look at. The anomalies are completely random, which means that you likely will see the same ones a number of times before encountering any new ones. in like 5 runs i have only seen half of all 30 different anomalies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dungeon of the ENDLESS run with @teebskun.bsky.social, @narrina.bsky.social and Dio was going smoothly until the game crashed, but autosave caught us on Floor 9 luckily. Thank you @alphamykee.bsky.social and @zeplander.bsky.social for the raids! Sent people over to @tolkhtv.bsky.social afterwards.
neutral · AI labelView post →Cool idea, meh execution. I love anomaly games. Observation Duty really kicked things off for me in this regard, but that series is starting to lose it's charm as others have come up with much cooler ideas and takes on the genre. This game on the surface is really cool. Step out onto a floor, observe your surroundings, guess if there's an anomaly or not. It looks great, but that's about where the positives end. Brace yourself for some complaints. This game is really, really, really easy. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game amazing dev showed up in stream and gifted a free steam code for a viewer loved the attention to detail in the floors
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game it took me three tries and 20 total minutes to beat the game including changing my settings. Not a very hard game but very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/eCmoBazWEH4 Picking out minute details over and over to pass a coin flip 9 times to win is far less compelling that advertised.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basic, tedious, low on effort. Not worth the time regardless of the price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not bad but too boring for the amount of replays required to find all anomalies. would've been better if anomalies didn't repeat like other games in the genre.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s one of those games where you start overthinking everything.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My fav guy was on a wizardry vod where i played the game blind & stumbled around drawing the layouts was like "WHY DIDNT YOU USE THE EXIT ON FLOOR 9 NEVER STAY ON FLOOR 9" like im not psychic mate
neutral · AI labelView post →Bought this after playing Paragnosia, expecting it would be similar. But this is just meh in comparison so far.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lmfao I got to floor 1 but there is some small detail I keep on missing. Its ok, but can get pretty frustrating. I feel its less horror than most similar games. Mediocre unless you really just are into spot a difference in general. But like if u r looking for something with horror vibes this is not it. I give it negative since its tagged with multiple "horror tags". I played it for a hour and came across very little horror.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like anomaly games, but this one feels quite lazy and uncreative. There are 30 anomalies total and most are on the very subtle side, like some faint marker on a tiny sticker kind of subtle. Hard pass, unless you've tried the other more well reviewed games in the genre and you don't mind something very low effort.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Floor 9 is an anomaly hunting game, basically spot the difference. From a gameplay and technical perspective it's fine, you walk up and down a corridor looking for anything out of place, if there is you hit one button, if there isn't you hit the other, rinse and repeat until you reach the ground floor, standard anomaly hunting game fare and it ran fine. The problem is the stunning lack of creativity with any of the anomalies, there's nothing interesting or memorable. They don't all need to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let it Be Known that I love Guilty Gear Strive. It’s the only fighting game I’ve EVER played, and even though I’ve only been playing for a little over a year I’m a confident Floor 9 Ramlethal! But I am scared of tomorrow’s patch haha. Guilty Gear Rules!
neutral · AI labelView post →The anomalies seem to range from the unexplainable to a kid with a crayon. Floor 9 is, as the name implies a 9 level, find the anomaly and mark the floor as save or not type of game. You start at floor 9 and try to make your way down to floor 1. Each time you fail you get send back to floor 9. With 30 different anomalies, some more obvious and some more hidden, you can replay the game a few times before you end up checking the same spot to quick-run the game. The game is quite fun the first…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These types of anomaly games should ALWAYS have an option to not repeat anomalies until you've seen them all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cannot stop playing because i'm genuinely annoyed. all aside, the graphics are poppinggg and the easter eggs are really fun i wanna find them all >:-) this is a must play if you want to spend hours in a liminal space and go crazy over details
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I lost my sanity and braincells, it was awesome
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun short anomoly game, encourages you to speed run a bit, as there are achievements for it. 30 total anomalies allows for 'some' replayability to get/find them all. Nice and Sweet
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best indie games I've ever played. It shocks you, scares you, frightens you and makes you think about what's wrong all the time. It's been a very emotional and fun experience to have this game in my library. Looking forward for the new series of this game! good job
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a mediocre anomaly hunting/walking simulator game. Nothing new or unseen here, but good enough if you like games like that :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im going to gift this to a schizophrenic friend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A working hotel staff is an anomaly in itself
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Floor 9 is a 'could have been fun' game if the devs didn't waste our time like it's a full time job. There are a few cool anomalies, some very subtle, but nothing that really stand out from the masses of these type of games. Biggest problem however, there's achievements for completing a run under five minutes. This is impossible. I've tried this many times. So you either have to brute force yourself to about halfway and start playing from there, or use cheats. The second massive time waster…

neutral · AI labelView post →Boring, tedious, slow, repetitive, and anomalies are not fun. I can see why this company stopped making games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played countless anomaly-loop type games over the last several years and have a deep love for the genre. Unfortunately, Floor 9 was not one of the better ones. I did enjoy the concept of the hotel floors and needing to get down the levels until you escape. However, I struggled a lot with Room 13 at the start of each floor/level. As the elevator opens, an action happens by that door. The other action at Room 16 only happens when you LOOK in that direction. I got tied up on Room 13…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An OK anomaly walker (aka Exit-8-like) set in a hotel hallway. None of the anomalies are particularly inspired, and it’s also the only anomaly walker I've played that repeats anomalies you’ve already cleared, so you have to keep checking for them every time. I think there are supposed to be one or two chasers, but they don’t work. LOL. Also the “good / bad” selectors are elevator buttons which have really small hitboxes and are a pain to hit. I wish instead that they’d just had two elevators –…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Floor 9 doesn't hold your hand at all. You don't know why you're there, what is happening or what the story is. There isn't a story but there are anomalies. Some are super obvious, some give you a good jump and some are so subtle you're going to think you're seeing things that aren't there or miss them completely. I was a little frustrated that every time you miss one, you go back to the beginning, but it did let me see 15 of the 30 anomalies. It's fun, not too scary by horror standards but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →do yall have anomaly game suggestions? ive played Observation Duty, Exit 8, and Floor 9
neutral · AI labelView post →Floor 9 here I come THIS GAME IS SO PEAK BTW THANKS FERN
positive · AI labelView post →yeah its pretty fun for a few playthroughs but its really annoying how some anomalies hardly EVER show up so replays are just looking for the same few things that always happen. needs a rebalancing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, had me second guessing myself so many times. Never been so pumped to go down a floor in an elevator. Sucked when I got it wrong on floor 2 cause I was doubting everything and end up back at floor 9!! I hope many more possible anomalies are added to keep things interesting and harder to memorize. I got a few repeat anomalies. As is it's good to play a couple times and with friends. Would also be fun with other decor and layouts.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My previous review was deleted. As of 28.9.2024, the devs finally fixed the bugged achievement that requires to find all anomalies. The game is alright now. Unfortunately I had to spend 31 hours, complain and discover the bug before the fix was implemented.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Similar to Exit 8, Floor 9 is an observation-style horror game where you have to go through each floor of a creepy hotel looking for anomalies. If you see something weird, run back to the elevator and hit the “oh noes” button to progress. But if you don’t find a problem, think twice before pushing the “this is fine” button. Are you sure you didn’t miss anything? I had a lot of fun playing Floor 9, and enjoyed seeing the anomalies, but the game did get frustrating at times. Unlike Exit 8, you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game especially for the price. Well worth it (works well on deck)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For that price, it’s a great find. I really like search for anomalies and differences, The graphics are pretty good, and using a controller makes the game more enjoyable. I'll be waiting for future games of this genre
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game, A pretty dam good liminal space anomaly game with realistic graphics. Really enjoyed this one very cool and scary!@
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good little game, but the RNG is not that great. Occasionally my run was reseted after pushing the normal button even though there was no anomaly on the floor.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game messes with your head in a good way. i started doubting myself after like 10 minutes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Floor 9 is a tightly focused psychological horror experience that builds its entire identity around repetition, perception, and the quiet tension of noticing what shouldn’t be there. Developed and published by Room Games, it belongs to the growing niche of anomaly-detection titles, but what sets it apart is how deliberately it leans into minimalism. There are no elaborate mechanics, no sprawling environments, and no traditional threats chasing you. Instead, the game creates unease through a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mediocre anomaly game. It's alright.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love the third game but this first one is so tough...stuck on Floor 9-3 right now 😅
neutral · AI labelView post →Good game, but too easy for us (played it with my wife). In 30 minutes we got to the end 2 times. Was expecting to be harder according to some of the reviews here. But maybe, it because we have played many anomaly games before. 6/10 due to been to easy for us. As a negative also, I can add that the anomalies are repetitive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price it's OK. Not the hardest anomalies game I've played but some are tricky and they were fun to find. My only complaint is even though I have played for 6 hours I still haven't found all the anomalies. (and I had to "re-find" one because my counter went down.) but for just over £3 it was a good game.
