I had to think about this game for a while. Four Last Things presents like something I would be totally into: a point-and-click adventure through an absurdist world collaged together from medieval paintings by Jan van Eyck, Hieronymus Bosch, and others. 96% of the 180 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Four Last Things. The complaint that keeps coming up: some puzzles require moon logic or a guide. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Critics, per Wikipedia

The game, its concept, and its art were given a fairly positive review in PC Gamer, although the lack of a manual save function was criticized. It was nominated for Best Art at the Independent Games Festival's award show in Brazil in June 2017. The International Business Times included it on a list of eight “innovative” indie games at the London Games Festival. The IBT praised the “witty writing” of Richardson, the use of the public domain Renaissance-era paintings, and that the game allowed you to slap bishops.

I started playing this wonderful game fairly late one Saturday evening, being a sinner, I had some free time the subsequent Sunday and intended to evaluate it as a candidate for the following day's entertainment. One puzzle led to another, the Bosch-and-Bruegel collage charmed me into submission, distracted by my own chuckling, the small hours had crept up on me, and the credits were rolling. I finished it in a single sitting. I now intend to evangelise to my immediate family, so they can too,…

This is quite a short point & click adventure game, but it is a gem for sure. I spent roughly 2 and half hours on this game, and that included getting all of the achievements. I actually wanted it to go on for longer as I was really enjoying it, but the given the premise it makes sense that it was the length that it is. I'm not going to say too much about the premise as I think it's better that you find out for yourself what the goal in this game is, but I think it is a really fun concept. At…

Joe Richardson has quite a reputation with his games based on old paintings and funny sometimes puerile humor. So many have recommended this so this one was my first foray into the particular series and i was not disappointed. Quite decent adventure game and good stuff to look into. I am not quite sure i care to pay too much about these but -65% sales price was just right for this level of fun.

After all the time spent searching for the answers, you learn at the end that the game was just a two-hour long puzzle to get to the creator's boring, edge-lord statement on religion and the afterlife. I think I wrote a more compelling argument against the church when I was 12 years old and still an atheist. If someone's interested in art and thinks this game would be fun to observe and learn about the paintings, I encourage them to visit online sources to enjoy the artworks instead. Also, you…

A short and quite funny point and click with art made entirely out of classical paintings and music. The puzzles weren't as straightforward as I'd expect them to be, judging from the short playtime. But they also weren't too hard. If Monty Python made a take on Renaissance pt. 1 My girlfriend picked this game out of our mutual game list, since the adaptation of renaissance art in an adventure game was appealing for the both of us. You play as someone who is in urge to commit 7 sins in order to finally make a confession, because those he committed in a neighboring pastry wouldn't count. Thus ensues your adventures in figuring your way through wit and shenanigans. With such a Monty Pythonesque setup in a graphic sense,…

This game is like a guided tour through the seven deadly sins except instead of committing them in real life (please don’t) , you get to giggle at them here instead. 😹 The humor is excellent: dry, clever, and perfectly matched with the absurdity of the art style. A spot of fun silliness for when you need a break from stories, or the grind, or other such serious things such as life. Ok, it DOES have a story but it's short and reminiscent of a Monty Python skit: your character has a bad dream about Adam taking an apple and happening to him, so he runs across the world to a church that refuses to absolve him of his sins because he didn't do them in the local region. So you go to do all the seven sins again to work around the beaurocracy. Reasons to…

I bought this game wishing to relive the feeling I had after completing Please, touch the artwork 2. It's as visually and musically astonishing as the mentioned game, however, it didn't feel like a point-and-click, it was rather quite an overwhelming RPG with loads of dialogue options. Why negative? As a dedicated despiser of adventure games, this is one of the least hateworthy I've encountered. Puzzles were, with one exception, pretty much straightforward and grounded entirely in world logic. At least one puzzle was solved by just straight up murder. The art style was nice.
