What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 179 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (718 of 858 positive).
Players praise the game's music and challenging gameplay. [1][2][3] Some reviewers criticize the controls as poorly adapted for keyboard. [4][5][6] A few players find the game too short or lacking content. [7][8][9]

Unfortunately, a quirky presentation does not make up for poor design. While the game may have some charm, it is let down by its execution. Three examples: - The game is designed for touch controls, not keyboards. That is a limited market, and it is made worse by very poor rebinding options. You can't spread controls adequately across the keyboard because the numberpad and several other keys cannot be bound. - …

is a funny game, and not bad. For Easy and normal you can use the mouse, but for Hard from Chapter 7 you need mouse and keyboard. For the sliding Parts hold the mouse button short. For Chopin is keyboard and mouse useless and for me unplayable for this i used my old M-Audio 88es USB MIDI Keyboard configured with Asio and it works fine. Great concept nice soundtracks, but not the Party Bomb, i can recomment Frederic: …

Frederic: Evil Strikes Back is the sequel to the first Frederic: Resurrection of Music game. It is a rhythm game which has 4 difficulty levels, making it accessible for everyone of all skill levels. Although there are only 10 levels, the music was so refreshing and I liked the challenge that the hardest difficulty gave. Definitely do not attempt 100%ing this game as it will take you out, unless you are a masochist, …

This game is very good with awesome OST (better than the prequel imo.) It's frustrating at first to get the notes right, but you can combine with the mouse to make it easier. The story is pretty weird, but it does convey a message about mainstream music and autotune. The animation/graphics is funny and cute. So get the game if you're into awesome soundtrack and difficult game!

neutral · AI labelView post →Frederic: Evil Strikes Back is the sequel to Frederic: Resurrection of Music and again follows on Frederic Chopin on an entirely new quest. The game starts as soon as the first game ends and a new threat emerges and kidnaps the three muses and as Frederic you must battle your way through the world to get them back and save music again. This review I'm gonna keep short as this game is it's the same game as the first one so basically everything I said about the first one is identical to the…

positive · AI labelView post →I should have known I wouldn't enjoy this given how the previous game ended. chopin becomes some kind of weird douche with a keytar at the end of the first game, and then you spend this game running around playing a lot of music that sounds good but some pairings don't make sense, like pairing an abba sounding song with a kiss themed band, cause that makes sense, I saw "Hiss" and was obviously psyched to play a kiss themed song, turns out to be abba and I knew I wasn't gonna enjoy this. baring…

neutral · AI labelView post →The new Frederick builds upon the gameplay of the original, with two new notes and new rhythm styles. This new game uses the same cutscene-then-song format, though (and horray for that!) The cutscenes seem longer, the songs seem longer, but I think I prefer the classical remixes of the original. Having played through both games, I can say that they work 100% perfectly on ubuntu linux. It took me a long time to warm up to the Frederick games, but these have become some of my favorite games to…

Dickinson / Lazar and Henrique / Samanski have points as pairs too. So what I’m saying is we need Dach from Bouchard and Frederic from Nurse goals in game 3, then McDavid scores 8.

Never mind that it's a tri-crescendo game so you know it has unique mechanics, it's a story all about a dream that famed musician Frederic Francois Chopin had on his deathbed.

neutral · AI labelView post →Frederic: Evil Strikes Back is an older handheld (Nintendo Switch) game from 2014. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review. It's been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld gaming audience, or even mobile apps, as it has many of the same (low) qualities. It's a narrative driven rhtyhm/QTE game where you play a "piano" in time with prompts so (ideally) some music comes out... think of this as a dumbed down guitar hero game. I'm…

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. But not too much songs. Like a Guitar Hero, but with a piano. Graphic is good too. You can earn achievements. And you can get trading cards too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and simple. Good compositions. Enjoyable and relaxing. Decently funny cutscenes as well. Nothing much to say, really. I just enjoy playing this kind of game! 9.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wish developers would stop redefining the word EASY, And as for TOO EASY, Well, it should almost play its self, not overload you with more things than you can keep your eyes on, let alone interact with! Not recommended unless you have super fast reflexes!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"hit those random keys very fast" (even on the easiest difficulty, the hardest one must be hell)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to be honest here and tell you that this seems like it would be a wonderful game except...the controls are terrible. Clicking is not fast enough to be able to catch notes AND the keyboard controls are awkwardly close and even when adjusting it doesn't work out. I'd rather go back to playing real piano than continue to play this. Call me when it gets some controller support or something.

neutral · AI labelView post →First of all, the game principle appeals to me, these types of rhythm games are really cool and can get addictive pretty quickly. But why I can't recommend it is that the controls are really bad, playing 4-5 notes per second is too crazy, I also tried it with a different layout, but it ended up the same. It would be better to have an ASDF JKLÖ layout here, or two keys at the same time to play the semitones. Unfortunately, this is just a finger cramp.
