What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 185 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,910 of 2,209 positive).
Players describe it as a perverted but fun on-rails shooter with a dating sim twist. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the gameplay is simple and easy, with automatic movement and large aiming circles. [4][5][6] A few players find the game annoying or lacking in quality-of-life features. [7][8]

Okay, so I'm going from Gal*Gun 2, and to put it short: Are there girls? Yes. Is there ecchi? Yes. Is it annoying to play? YES! No but seriously, I spent a small bit of time here, and I can tell that this wouldn't be a fun experience. I spent a bit trying to move with the cam just to realise that it's not possible. Sure, it's the first game in the series, but c'mon. If you want a bit more freedom (and more …

You have to answer two questions: Do you like on-rail shooters? Do you like lewd anime stuff? If you answered yes to both of them - this game is for you. If no - You'd better stay away.

It's like "what if we mixed a dating sim with a rail shooter (and we made it super pervy btw)?" and it... works. It's such a surprisingly solid game with a lot of cool little mechanic details and secrets. Back when I played the JP only demo of the first one on PS3 I never imagined we'd get this series localized and that I would end up loving it. Huge surprise.

First Gal Gun I've played. As a big fan of the House of the Dead games, I was shocked to know a game like this exist. Instead of shooting zombies or terrorists, you shoot school girls that are madly in love with you, what could be weirder than that? Gameplay is excellent, the music is also excellent. Multiple endings and collectibles increase replay value. Highly recommended for arcade shooter fans (or should I say …

II’ll be succinct. Yes, it’s a perverted game. And yes, it’s a very dumb fun though a little easy on-rails shooter of the likes like freaking House of the Dead or good old Umbrella Chronicles. Can only trust me on this. A common run can be finished in around 2 to 3 hours. The player automatically moves through the map (there is cave even lol) and only has to focus on shooting. There are also side-missions per map on …

Players who liked Gal*Gun: Double Peace talk about fun and surprisingly solid rail shooter mechanics; those who didn't talk about gameplay gets old quickly due to simplicity. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Gal Gun: Double Peace received "mixed or average" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator Metacritic. The title fared far better in Japan, with Famitsu reviewers awarding both versions of the game a 31/40, recording scores of 8/8/8/7 from the four respective critics. Jed Whitaker of GameRevolution gave the game a positive review, applauding the branching paths and magnitude of content to unlock, while also praising the replay value and ability of seeing through objects, saying it added depth. Despite this, he complained of the faulty touch controls and sexualization of underage girls. Ultimately though, Whitaker gave the game an 8/10: "I kind of love Gal-Gun: Double Peace not…

I wasn't locked up in a prison but I ended up in a lunatic asylum because I told my psychiatrist that all my 2D underaged girls are real and I keep them in the basement. When the police arrived at my house they found nothing but I still begged to differ, I was trying to convince them they are right in front of their eyes. It's safe to say they had none of it so instead of going to a detention center they took me for a detour to this big hospital for mentally ill…

Over 2,200 years later, Otaku still suffer the same cruel fate. In 2011, Microsoft forced Inti Creates to release a patch for Gal*Gun (Xbox 360) that would prevent the player from looking under the girls' skirts. Especially egregious considering Gal*Gun was a Japan-only game. Nearly a decade later, a remastered version of…

neutral · AI labelView post →Next game is Gal*Gun 2! This will be the final Gal*Gun game that I'll be playing for now! (I'll DEFINITELY be playing Gal Guardians later on!) Honestly, I don't think this will top Double Peace, but if it's fun, funny, and has good characters, I'm all for it! Bonus if the OST is a banger as well 😁
neutral · AI labelView post →💾 I can guarantee you've never played this dating sim before... Nobody has, because it doesn't exist! This is the fake galge from Gal*Gun 2, accessible with a tap of the "panic mode" button. The retro throwback "game" references in-universe events and characters, making it a neat Easter egg too!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Banger OST time! This track plays during the frantic and intense scenes in Gal*Gun: Double Peace! This OST is so immaculate 😭 It is so unapologetically bopping, this track perfectly conveys that an emergency is occurring, and that the situation is urgent! Easily my favorite track in the game!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a little conflicted about this game. I wish Steam had a "Mixed" option for cases like this, but I'll try my best. For full price, I'm going to say No. With a discount, I'd say Yes depending on the percentage. One look at my library would tell any casual observer that I enjoy the... raunchier side of Steam's store. In spite of that, I'm not really sure how much I can say I like this game. This is my first Gal Gun experience and the only thing I can seriously say I enjoy about it is the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Gal*Gun series is a wrap! (for now) Took around 50 hours total for the 3 main games. This series was a blast! Honestly, my expectations were blown away, I was expecting a goofy rail shooter series and got way more than I could've ever hoped for! It's definitely a a series worth playing through!
positive · AI labelView post →Gal*Gun 2! 14 hours in! I'll say that Chiru is definitely my favorite character! tbh I don't feel like I see characters like her very often in video games, so she feels very unique! In terms of the time limit, it doesn't feel restricting! On playthrough 1, I was pretty much able to do everything.
positive · AI labelView post →It's amazing how video game consoles have internet connectivity these days. So much interesting potential. You can order pizza from the interface of an MMO. You can have unscheduled multiplayer in Watch_Dogs. And your console should call the police if you play Gal*Gun

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gal*Gun 2 is a wrap! Took around 18 hours to get 5 endings. This game is good! The gameplay was fun once it settled in, and it had a solid cast of characters! While it does slouch a bit due to living in the shadows of it predecessors, it's still a goofy and enjoyable experience!
positive · AI labelView post →Gal*Gun is a wrap! Took around 11 hours for all 4 character playthroughs. That was a blast! The gameplay was a ton of fun, and the game was so goofy and hilarious! That being said, it also had solid emotional moments with characters that I came to really like! It's a banger of a rail shooter!

neutral · AI labelView post →Its a rail shooter. Kind of fun when you realize your supposed hit a girls weak spot to get an ecstasy shot. If you manage to get a lot of those you'll get big points at the end of the level. You'll know when you've found a girls weak spot when you target a body part and hiragana or whatever letters pop up. Then the game gets old real quick after all that. eh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs flawlessly on Linux, my 76wh 12700H can run the game for 5 hours without issues on Proton 8.0-2. The experience on Steam Deck should be fantastic... I can't imagine why it's not marked as Steam Deck verified, everything period works with a gamepad, including the mini games. This was designed for PS3 after all. ChromeOS is a good experience, as long as you're using a gamepad. On my Intel 1540P Chromebook, using a mouse or touchpad for some reason makes the framerate drop from a fine ~60,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gal*Gun: Double Peace is exactly what you would expect, a weird, almost borderline not okey, Japanese styled game. Graphically speaking it’s bright and clean, and not a bad-looking game. It runs smoothly. There are a bunch of character models that get used a hunderd times each. But it looks alright. Gameplay wise the shooting stuff works okey. The aiming circle is quite large, its almost hard to miss. To make it even easier you don't have to move yourself. The game takes care of that, all you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gal*Gun 2! 8 hours in! ngl, this game is slower paced than the previous entries! Admittedly, you spend more time interacting with characters and nothing is really forcing you to do the main quests (not sure how this affects the ending), but it isn't a bad thing! I really like Chiru personally 😊
positive · AI labelView post →Interesting note about Gal*Gun 2 is how critical character movement can be to the vibe of a game. You move from position to position in Gal*Gun 2, which can't convey a sense of urgency. I recall a scene in Double Peace where the MC runs down the hallway, and it set the tense tone! Just a lil note :P

Without peer, the best rail shooter I've ever played!
