What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 148 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (288 of 319 positive).
Players praise Gigapocalypse for blending Rampage-style destruction with Tamagotchi-like monster care. [1][2][3] Some reviewers find the game repetitive and click-heavy, especially early on. [4][5][6] The variety of monsters and upgrades is widely appreciated, though difficulty can become trivial. [7][8][9]

There is no this info on the game's page, but it is a clicker. You won't beat half the bosses if you don't torture your mouse to death. The faster you click, the stronger you are. Gigapocalypse tries to sell like an arcade game with Rampage spirit, but its basis is a smartphone timewaster. With the right tags and on other platform it would be fine. Sadly, this game is not what it pretends to look.

Gigapocalypse is a nice combination of elements of classic 'Rampage' gameplay with Tamagotchi-like actions. watch my babymonster get stronger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAgYpuETG_w In Gigapocalypse you have to take care of Doom & Destruction, you do this via your monster that you can choose at the start of the game, so there are several monsters. This game reminds me of my childhood. I was immediately thrown back to games like Rampage and Walker. There's a lot of variety in the Gigas you can play, and a lot of attention to details in the sprite work. Every Giga has a bunch of different skins, which change both gameplay aspects and the appearance of the Giga and of all of its skills. With few inputs and a simple gameplay loop, they managed to make an …

A very simple game. You do a run, either beat it or not, upgrade your monster, rise and repeat. It becomes a one note gimmick very quickly, no matter the unique mechanics each monster offers. I don't recommend it to go for achievement hunting since is a slog to go through each monster without any major changes in gameplay. HOWEVER, is nonetheless a simple game to put a few hours into since is what takes to beat it. …

So, Gigapocalypse is a Rampage on Rails with Tamagotchi aspects. YEP <3 This is such a beautiful game, with the most cute, fun and dynamic sprite art I've seen in a long time, I mean, everytime I play I discover new animations and fun stuff the poor humans do while defending their cities, for example. I also love the hilarious new flashes on the result screen. Another aspect I really like is being able to level up a …

neutral · AI labelView post →Extremly boring game, that runs 90% itself and your only major contribution is clicking the attack button over and over and ..... over and over again. If you think reading my review is boring try playing this game and you will learn the true meaning of boredom.

Have you not played 'Rampage' and are curious about that feeling? If your answer is yes to either of these questions, then you've found the correct game. In Gigapocalypse, you take control of one of the kaiju creatures, called Gigas, of your choosing.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rampage this is not. Can you climb buildings? No. Can you smash up buildings? Not really, they just instantly explode to pieces. Can you control your character? Well, not walking or jumping or anything like that, no. You just move forward with no control but button mashing attacks that have to recharge as you lose HP or with time. The people in the cut scenes and dialogue scenes look like muppets and I really hate that style. There's no blood or guts when attacking human beings either. Is this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gigapocalypse - While the game has you controlling Godzilla level monsters, the downside is that it's a complete grindfest in order to complete. You are either super lucky with pickups like health in the game, hoping you get to the checkpoint and you can beat the final boss. Once you beat a level or fail it for that matter, most likely you'll fail, you get some resources to spend on upgrades, but even that is ridiculously expensive so you end up grinding failed levels over and over until…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This makes me hard for Kaiju's. Gigapocalypse is a fun and aggressive side scrolling arcade title. With a badass soundtrack and brilliantly retro graphics, this oozes nostalgia. I loved its simplicity as well as its layers of depth. Furthermore, the choice of Gigas and the vast amount of upgrades ensure that no playthrough is ever the same.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been kicking around in my library for years. Then, a couple months back, when I was struck with a desire to consume every bit of dumb monster media I could get my hands on, there it was, shining like a diamond in the middle of a bunch of games about lame crap like ninjas and knights and soldiers, just begging for me to give it a try. Well, it lived up to my expectations: there are plenty of big, dumb monster shenanigans to be found here. Basically, the goal is to make your way…

neutral · AI labelView post →It’s an on-rails mobile like game where you get to choose from among plenty of monsters, all with a multitude of collectibles and unlockables each, and you just go to different levels to destroy everything in them; the more destruction you cause, the faster the run goes. Difficulty is based around the monster you choose, which I personally don’t like, but whatever. You don’t have to “break your left mouse” button like the top review says? The game lets you hold the mouse button, or just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game but it falls very short of what its trying to deliver. Its technically just button mashing auto battler. Its definitely not Rampage nor anywhere near like any of the arcade monster games. Maybe if they went isometric and have battles with other monsters would have been better. Despite that there are several areas with different themes, its just a different coat of paint for each area and the game play is the same. Even the boss battles are laid out to be…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3/10 wow that was fun for 15 seconds....... i dub this the mobiliest of the mobile games + unique bosses - lag spikes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot even progress in the first stage, I get the same point where it opens your abilities and the kaiju just runs in place. No abilities do anything, there is nothing to destroy and no reference anywhere as to what I am supposed to do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's really not a whole lot of meaningful interactivity here. It's fine as an idle game, but there are plenty of free ones of those.

Each monster have unique attacks and abilities you can upgrade to do more damage. Its a side scrolling game where your monster walks across the screen and you assist it with abilities you unlock. You unlock mini pets you can upgrade and they assist you with unique powers like dealing damage, giving more exp or heal your titan. The graphics is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you crave a game without to deep game play mechanics and/or story, Gigapocalypse is an option. You can choose between 16 Kaijū and they all will play a bit different. Most Kaijū start out to be a click fest and a test for the endurance of your index finger. But as you progress most Kaijū will turn into some sort of auto battler. I sure had fun during the time I spent with this game. Playing it when I was in the mood for it had an impact for sure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't usually play games like this one, but it's actually a lot of fun! Lots of different upgrades/skills/pets/armor etc... and some humor, I like it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game for $1. I don't really think this game is worth $15 but it definitely worth it on sale. This game really takes me back to a simpler time in my life. Playing internet games on addictinggames or newgrounds before school. The art style and gameplay loop are very simple but don't let that lull you into an idea that this game isn't worth your time. It's a simple autoscroller where you can manually attack as your kaiju stomps from left to right. You get points and level up stats…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like me are a Kaiju fan you can't go wrong here. It features 9 very different Kaiju all of which play in very different manners, So far for me its Gigasaur a homage to Godzilla. If you do plan on working your way through all the Kaiju take the time to unlock them all and play with them in the tamagotchi like feature so you can collect mutation point prior to maxing out the Kaiju you decide won't be your main. That way you get a headstart when you do get around to playing them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awsome game! Many things to upgrade skills ,perks ,decor stuff , skins with unique abillity. For me, it's nostalgia on steroids. The game is replayable and encourages you to destroy cities again in order to gain mutation points and experience. I'm looking forward to new monsters and more difficult challenges because I'm already immortal: D Cooperation with the developer at the highest level! Very attractive price for the purchased content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is perhaps the quickest I've ever formulated an opinion on a game. In the 10 minutes I've played, I realize this is not for me. Not only is the game just randomly clicking until you win, really earning the casual tag. But I feel I have absolutely 0 control over the outcome. Not to mention the deaths all feel incredibly unsatisfying. Making this whole gameplay loop feel like a giant waste of time. While I normally LOVE pixel graphics, I didn't like this aesthetic as much as I thought I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a nice upgrade type game. You won't win on 1st, 2nd, 3rd try but once you get some upgrades, you can easily win all levels - especially with the immunity skills. A bit click-heavy in the beginning but you can enable auto attack in options which solves most of your clicking problems. For achievement hunters it is a bit long, having to do all nine gigas to level 50 (hint: you can just farm Suburbs). I wish the game had a "skip animations" for the bosses. When you see them for the 17th time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a fantastic game. Fun, simple, and chill, a kaiju game with 9 kaiju that all play differently and can be customized with different skins (no micro transactions for what its worth). It can be repetitive, but I have absolutely no problem with that. There's even a small virtual pet minigame! Honestly, I feel like this game was targeted at me specifically. I loved it, what a fantastic game!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't even recommend getting this game on sale at a deep discount unless you are having trouble sleeping. This game works better than sleeping pills. Guaranteed to help you sleep. Sure the game looks nice, but this game is extremely BORING and slow. It's part Idle or Auto-clicker and part button smasher when you get to the bosses. "Idler" should be one of the top tags; this is not a fighting game at all. It starts out well, and I really like the artistic design for everything, but quickly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is like a mix of a stationary shump, a digi-pet with 3 options, and a clicker you can't leave on it's own. you uncontrollably walk forward (also with no jump) as you spam attacks. you attack by clicking the mouse but you can also hold the button down to have continuous fire though it's slower than clicking and you'll also have 5 abilities linked to the 1-5 keys. each monster is leveled up separately and you can unlock/upgrade abilities, attacks, passives, pets, and even new skins that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid game. Kinda like Rampage if it was an autoscroller and had some roguelite elements to it. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is centered around sending a monster to a city, destroying stuff and killing people to get upgrades. An upgraded monster is then sent to destroy/kill a bigger target. Nice idle-based game with cute monsters, but it gets old pretty quick. This is not worth ten dollars. Five dollars is a more appropriate price. Best time to buy this game is when it is on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gigapocalypse is a side scrolling smash-em-up in the style of Rampage. You can choose to control one of many Kaiju monsters. You raise from a tamagotchi flavored baby into a powerful galactic threatening monster. There's quite a lot of different variation in the monster's gameplay style allowing you to find one that meets your playstyle. Everything feels really well done and was a blast to play. Oh yeah! There's also a pet collecting Pokemon or Digimon style element that adds extra elements to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun little game about giant monsters going on rampages and wreaking havoc on time and space. The music is pretty darn good, and the Gigas are varied in appearance, attacks and skills. Between runs you can level up your Giga, it's skills and abilities and even give it pets to take on runs with you. More importantly, between runs the fearsome Gigas revert to widdle bitty baby monsters that you get to take care of like Tomagatchis, petting them, feeding them and cleaning up after they…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are three different difficulties tied to three different monsters to choose and a surprising amount of progression and skills for them to unlock. You dont start as an overpowered monster but you do get the try them out in their final form the first time you play them so you can get an idea of which one you like most. The levels are challenging and require you to replay and upgrade you monster to get a little farther each time ending in boss battles. Theres also a tomagachi like aspect to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyable. Susprisingly so. You have a monster that runs left to right and each one has different mechanics. They are different enough for you to be able to really find one you like the most. You then basically slaughter everything as fast as possible. It's pretty awesome in practice, I felt the endless mode particularly shined. It also has a tomagotchi type mechanic where you feed, pet the giga, and clean his cookie. By playing multiple Gigas and alternating you can basically get more…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gigapocalypse is the kind of game my kids have been wanting for YEARS: you play AS the Monster and you go around destroying all the things. Rampage is good, but this is newer. And in a way, cuter. Want to be Godzilla? Want to be (eventually) a Scary Space Monster? This game just released into Early Access and is already getting a lot of love and support as it builds towards being a fully fleshed out game. Let's put it this way: Gigapocalypse is just fun. Is it the most challenging thing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is a lot of fun ! The game is filled with building crushing action, if you like giant monster movies then this is game for you! There is about 4 hours of content in the game at it's current stage. Lots of cool stuff coming in the future. I give it a 8/10 .
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not really what I expected. The game essentially plays itself, you dont really control anything, apart from the occasional and unnecessary left click. I bought it because I was led to believe it's similar to rampage, but it definitely is not. More of an idle clicker, you dont play it as such.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too simplistic, but an inoffensive time-waster.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →all the art is pretty good from the visuals to tunes to how it is presented but the game is beyond mind numbing. you dont control the movement of your character beyond the ability to not destroy stuff which makes them stop from moving forward, during a boss battle your character will randomly move forward and back such as straight into a bunch of missles you could have potentially avoided and seemingly have no counter despite having giant indicators like i should click on them or something,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very basic, repetitive and grindy, but still fun somehow. I enjoy the fact that there are skill trees, costumes (that actually change your giga), different pets that help you out and skills to try out and mess around with. The whole tamagotchi mechanic I could definitely do without though. Also, the different gigas are super unbalanced and there are some absolutely broken ones, while others struggle to get anything going. Anyways, I would recommend the game on sale for sure!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is such a fun game! The variety of monsters is great (with more on the way), as they are more than just different graphic designs. Each has different skills and ways of causing destruction. The creativity goes beyond the monster designs as well, as this is a fun mix of multiple genres. Between the arcade style levels where you try to fully destroy a city before its defenses take you down there is a hub where you care for the giant monster like those classic Tamagatchi toys. Feed 'em,…
