Critics, per Wikipedia
Good Will Hunting received widespread acclaim from critics. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film three stars out of four, writing that while the story is "predictable", it is "the individual moments, not the payoff, that make it so effective". Duane Byrge of The Hollywood Reporter praised the performances of the cast, writing, "The acting is brilliant overall, with special praise to Matt Damon for his ragingly tender portrayal of the boy cursed with genius." Peter Stack of the San Francisco Chronicle was equally positive, writing, "The glow goes well beyond a radiant performance by Matt Damon ... Intimate, heartfelt and wickedly funny, it's a movie whose impact lingers." Owen…

When William Wallace roused his troops in Braveheart? Maybe Glengarry Glen Ross or A Few Good Men or- Me: Wrong. It's James Earl Jones in the rad dragon movie.

neutral · AI labelView post →I 100% believe, on some level, Affleck made The Accountant so he could have a movie where his character got to have "Super Math Powers" because Matt Damon got to have them in Good Will Hunting. (This only makes me like Ben Affleck that much more.)

One lies and the other one swears to it. Two frauds. I will gladly meet either or both of them outside the 99 in Charlestown to discuss our passions.

I kept putting off rewatching it until the last minute, thinking eh, I don't care to see this again after so many times. I fucking cried start to stop. What a picture! Robin Williams, Elliott Smith, Boston, all things that are gone.

Sure, the movie has its flaws & they have been in lots of things since, but it stands head & shoulders above everything else they've done IMO.

neutral · AI labelView post →Do the cleaning staff typically know the patirnts’ conditions and other medical details? I suppose they can read the charts on the walls. Is that a hipaa violation? Or maybe they also have some hipaa training / certification. This would make a good shitmovie premise, like Good Will Hunting meets House, where the best doctor in the hospital is actually a janitor. Maybe he reads patient charts and secretly treats them for the real disease the other doctors haven’t found.
