Many players find GORN 2 fun and a worthy sequel, praising its humor and chaos. [1][2][3] Some reviewers feel it's a step down from the original, citing worse physics and boss fights. [4][5][6] A few posters criticize the game for FOMO content and poor PC optimization. [7][8]

I literally just got done playing the 2nd one for the first time....and man oh man did they take something great and ruin it. Now it feels like just another crappy VR game on my list of games. I LOVED the first one. One of my favorite games that introduced me to VR. But somehow they were able to take away what made it great, and come out with this......now I see why it's so cheap. Much like Gorn, if you let people play this game, they are likely to at minimum punch your wall, if not outright damage your controllers! I have lost not one but two controllers to guests playing Gorn and wishing such levels of violence upon these cartoon muscley dudes that the hardware could not endure. The illusion of "you're in a big arena" combines with "there is a huge guy slowly walking toward you with …

This game is fun, hella fun. I refunded the original and thought it would be stupid to buy the second one but I did anyway, and super enjoy it. Love the sillyness, the dialogue, the characters, the expressions, the weapons. Punching / hand to hand could be better but it’s grrrrrreat!

The GORN Devs just dont miss this game is a lot of fun and it improves on all the less desirable aspects of the first game but dont worry the ragdolls and weapon physics are still just as janky and funny easily on of the best stress relievers

Compared to the first game, its pretty good. Better level and enemy variety imho but worse boss fights. Also I miss the hand augments like the wrist crossbow or grappling hooks. :steamsad:

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game is usually good and fun, the story is oddly interesting and all that. Have spent many hours in the game.... However they started putting in FOMO stuff in a single player game. Yes... they lock away weapons forever behind limited time events in your single player game. So if you bought the game late or you missed the event, you will forever have an empty spot in your inventory. Plus the valentines day update game mode is annoying and tedious and I feel forced to go through that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →compared to the first game this one isnt as good, i dont really like the humor that much and the game feels a little rushed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolute ass gun handle making the final fight borderline impossible 💔💔💔 -edit, nevermind i was just retarded
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lost the artstyle from the first game, punching feels awful, tearing off limbs feels weightless, unlike the first game where it took a little effort, enemies feel slow, cant ever grab them, the story is kinda wack, and overall not fun. just play gorn 1 its leagues better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played my share of VR brawlers, but my experience with GORN 2 on PC VR has been one of the most disheartening I've had in recent memory. It's immediately clear where this game’s priorities lie: it was designed and optimized almost exclusively for the standalone Meta Quest headsets, and the PC version suffers for it in almost every measurable way. The Graphics: A Sacrificial Lamb I never thought I'd say this about a PC game, but the graphics are, frankly, terrible. They scream "Quest…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the first game but the physics feel even worse somehow, so bad it becomes annoying to play because it feels like every weapon is the same blunt stick and all opponents are damage sponges that barely react to your damage. Prime strategy is just grabbing a big weapon and instakilling all of them by swinging at their heads, very boring gameplay.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd say it's absolutely worth the price and a fun experience. If you didn't play Gorn 1, you'll definitely enjoy this. If you did, here are the differences I saw: 1. This game is less technical than Gorn 1. Which is surprising as Gorn 1 isn't a particularly technical game. But it is essentially the VR equivalent of a button masher. In Gorn 1, a precise slash would take an enemy's head off, but in Gorn 2, it is clearly just damaging them and reducing an invisible health bar. 2. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Combat didn't feel as good as Gorn 1
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really must give some high praise. The first Gorn was one of the first VR games I ever played and the sequel has only improved upon it. More than a year after release they've still been making new updates adding more and more fun. Hats off to the team, truly. 8 and counting
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →an alright power fantasy game held back by saints row humor. If you want to strike your enemies down with a golden dildo gained from beating all of the bosses (one of which sexually harasses you) and that sounds like the funniest thing you've ever heard, you'll probably like it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like more and less of Gorn 1. Like, now you fight in death arenas where each arena has different themes and a different environmental hazard to either assist or deter you. They also got rid of the ability to utilize the "rubber" weapons like in the first Gorn. In the first gorn you could hold a morning star, grab the spike ball part with your other hand, pull it back and release it like a slingshot and it would just slap enemies. However the annoyances make it hard to want to keep…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After my 4 hour playthrough, I really didn't want to leave a negative review, but I just can't recommend this game in its entirety. Gameplay wise this game is fun for the most part, there isn't much consistency but it's just a lot of stupid fun, it's very quality over quantity and there's tons of variety. Having said that, the final boss ruins the game for me. The difficulty goes from 0 to 100 immediately, I never died at any point in the game before getting to this, and ended up dying dozens…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For $20, GORN 2 offers players cartoonish graphics, sophomoric humor, and floppy weaponry that bounces off of armor and bare skin all the same. Unlike the original GORN, players have less space to maneuver around and have turned the concept of a gladiator arena into more of a standard, gimmicky wrestling ring. With that said, the video game can be completed in under four to five hours with relative ease and there is no replayability outside of increased difficulty and achievement hunting in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It could've been better, but they just want more money that they don't need.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An insane step up from the first game there’s so much more to do now, this developing team knocked it out of the park! 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun but didn't hold up to its predecessor
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →worse than the first. The creativity in the changes to the fights and general structure is worse. The humor is more crude and just childishly dumb, you beat the game and your reward is a golden dong, theres multiple boner jokes in the game and others its just unnecessary and makes it less enjoyable in the strangeness of the original this is just cringey. Like was this just written by and for 13 year olds? The writing is flat annoying to borderline offensive with the dreadful gay stereotype of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Major, rage-inducing disappointment. After seeing posts and articles about how Gorn 2 tRaNsFoRmEd the game and gave it a next generation uplift with "more of everything", I was hyped. It was all a lie. This isn't a proper sequel, this is an undercooked and overpriced mod. There is literally nothing new apart from just a couple of weapons and a new afterthought game mode added in a patch that I am yet to be able to test. The gameplay is still the same, except somehow wonkier, jankier and worse…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There should've been controls to grab environment to move as well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do not play this if you have a Windows Mixed Reality headset. Your hands will be unable to move off of the ground.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great to see another supported customer of mine go public with their next #VR game in development. GORN 2 and TMNT, a busy year for Cortopia (Beyond Frames)
neutral · AI labelView post →Just as fun as the original game, with enough content to get your money's worth. As a warning, if you hate the type of humor found in shows like South Park or Family Guy, you will probably despise the over-the-top innuendo present in the campaign of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is nothing like the first game and sandbox barely works and its confusing for no reason please stick to the original
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is a buggy mess. If you liked the first game odds are you will not like this one. This game shares almost zero similarities in how the game actually plays. Things are hard to grab, enemies are hard to slice and overall jankiness leads to an unpleasant experience playing this game. One thing I loved to do in the first game was beat it bare-handed and it was very possible and fun. Trying that in this game? Not so much. It is pretty much impossible to punch and when it does land it does…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As for me, it's more of a variation of the first game formula than a true sequel. The fights are much more chaotic, the arenas are smaller and you have to watch out for different threats. On the other side, it's still really fun. Will not delete the original from my hard drive, but I still enjoy it... Maybe in a bit smaller doses that an original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was down to just sorta hold my nose and bear the kind of "white pharaoh" story this game was putting in front of me with all of its topical references from two years ago and PG-13 "raunchy humor" cause yeah, it's a game about big meaty men slappin' meat: it's puerile, and the gameplay is fun. Definitely wasn't having a good time with the story and how it was acting towards, like, all brown people ever, and then it dropped the most unpleasant "fat ugly transgender sexual predator" caricature…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's some new scraper or AI tool that's led to me receiving three emails this past week about how I "build VR gladiator games" My portfolio's most recent work was the marketing website for GORN 2. Apparently the tools aren't smart enough to realize I made the website, not the game
neutral · AI labelView post →Boring, ♥♥♥♥ joke filled, flanderized sequel to a superior game. feels like the original without its grungy, dirty charm, and filled with childish dialogue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 days ago I played for 100 minutes straight and my body is still sore. I also ended up punching my monitor by accident. 10/10, would play more if I wasn't in so much pain.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →*BARS INCOMING* You'll like my review about Gorn 2, despite being new you'll soon have a clue about this sequel (it's all about you.) In the first game (with champions) you'll kill about ten. You want to kill eleven? Well, welcome to heaven! Less physics based, but has its own taste, it has different blood-sprays and even more name says! 5 new kings and a crowd that roars in rings! The unique environments bring different themes beyond your wildest dreams, but you know that. So many more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →corporate slop. cringey adaptation from a studio that made a mid vr game. first game was peak, ts ahh

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The original had really simple combat that was fun for the start of VR combat games. When people were new to VR fighting, large weapons felt weird to hold, but this game makes them bendy and weird so it feels more cartoony and fun. Plus GORN has a sense of humor. It will get old quickly, but still. However, now that Blade and Sorcery has been taking off, the combat in GORN just seems silly and dumb. With a lack of a proper physics system, the weapons are all rubbery and you just end up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The funniest vr game I think I've ever played, ts is so peak
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and well optimized for PCVR with Pico 4 Ultra. Has much more to offer than Gorn 1.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BUYING THE GAME Okay I liked a lot of things about this game, but there was no warning about how much sexual content is in this game. I mean im fine with some of the jokes, but it got slightly uncomfortable because one of the elites names is Big Boner (i think) and at the end of the game, you obtain A LITERAL DILDO THAT EJACULATES WHEN YOU HIT PEOPLE WITH IT! . I was not warned about ANY of this beforehand and it was too late for a refund at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorn 2 came out of nowhere on PSVR2! Well here is my review! If you're a fan of the original Gorn game then you're going to want to check this out. All support is appreciated. youtu.be/SEiRutH7JbU
neutral · AI labelView post →Not as good as the first game, no where near actually. Still good though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just an improvement on the original in every single way. Also, the weapon throwing is great--feels good and actually works: nice
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FANTASTIC!!!! Funny and a blast to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I NEVER post reviews, but this deserves one from me. It is a hillarious, fun, and chaos-filled mess (in a good way). And this is one of the only games that i enjoy the dialog, dare i say that i need more of it. There is also a good amount of content after the campaign. My only complaint is that i wish the campaign was just a teeny bit longer. Other than that, 8.5/10 game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun and goofy, I love game like this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The diversity is much better than in Gorn 1.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just get GORN 1. The only "improvement" is the movement, and even that is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. the combat just doesn't feel punchy, and there was little to no fear of death for me. The only time I died was when I was taking off my headset to stop playing. It's hard to grab things, often times its buggy, it's nearly impossible to grab other rokibe, and there isn't a way to automatically hold a weapon like in the first game, so you have to hold the trigger the WHOLE TIME. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The design of the game has not aged well enough or progressed far enough to constitute a sequel. The game is simultaneously short, dull, easy and frustrating. While the concept of a VR arena fighter is nice, and the original gorn was good in its time, even with its unique visual style, it simply does not hold up to modern VR titles of the same genre like Underdogs, Blade And Sorcery or a comparable game. I would suggest you spend your money elsewhere, as the game isn't worth $20, or even the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a pretty rough year for good VR releases IMHO. All the stuff that came to my mind were actually released last year. The **Crysis VR** mod went 1.0 this year and is pretty good. Technically cant be nominated for the steam awards though. On Quest the biggest Release is probably that new **Deadpool** game? Maybe i check out the unofficial Pico port. But i'm too burned out by superhero media tbh. I scrolled through all the VR games released on steam this year and these games…
neutral · AI labelView post →A great game which, while is it debatably not as good as the first game is still great in it's own right, but given the quality of the original it had high expectations to live up to, but if you are looking for a great vr game i would reccomend this one, as long as you are fine with crude humor and virtual people getting eviserated, so as long as you are not a pearl clutcher who cant handle that its w great game, like i said, not as good as the original, but still fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game but the first one is better
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A perfect sequel to the first game, it takes everything amazing and bloody about the original and tunes it up by twenty, if you like stupid violence and humour, this is for you.
