What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 175 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (480 of 524 positive).
Players describe it as a chill and relaxing skiing/snowboarding game with a focus on exploration. [1][2][3] Some reviewers praise the game as a hidden gem with great graphics and atmosphere. [4][5][6] A few players criticize the controls and camera as frustrating or wonky. [5][7][8]

Just know that this game really isn't cross platform multiplayer despite the advertisement implying that it is. Local multiplayer literally means you have to be on the same Wi-Fi. You couldn't even play the game with your friends if you were all in the same room using your data connections on your phone. I think the game probably seems really fun, but I bought it so that my friends and I could play together and …

Chill skiing/snowboarding game where you complete various challenges and gather collectibles. The game has a good balance when it comes to difficulty, you can beat it quite easily if you don't want to go the extra mile. However, for those who are seeking out more challenging experience, this game sure does have some aces up its sleeve.

There are many snowsports games out there. Some focus on racing, some on tricks. Most of them are blistering, wild rides, about a fantasy run down a wild mountain. This is something different, and it's awesome. This is a surprisingly chill and laid-back day on the slopes, with an adrenaline level that's much more like actual *skiing* than a race or tricks arcade game. It's not exactly casual, mind you -- more, its …

Absolute gem of a game ruined by some wonky controls and a horrendous camera, I love the adventure, the variety of maps, races, trials, hidden areas, goofy humor and chill ski/snowboard vibe. I do recommend the game, but with two caveats: the controls can be a bit weird when trying to get trick combos, and some basic movement is repetitive to get around. And secondly, not being able to control the camera (especially …

My favourite ski/snowboard game of all time. Chill little game, and works great on the Steam Deck. Some challenges can get frustrating but unless you're going for all diamond scores then there's enough content that you can just focus on the things you do like and move on to the next map, and keep the experience a relaxed one. In my fifteen hours of playtime, I unlocked all ski lifts on all maps, got all secret ski …

Gameplay: It's a sports game but also a relaxing one, and the mood created by the devs is very relaxed. We're in a Ski resort and have total freedom to discover; Explore and compete. Progression through the game is via a short tutorial, but it's not realy a tutorial; you have a totaly freedom. The tutorial is slow, but step by step you'll discover all the possibilities this world has to offer, and if at first this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a pretty neat "Ski-free" styled game with a lot of maps and exploration but I cannot recommend the game purely on the controls and the camera. Some of the trails are needlessly difficult only because I can't see what way the character is pointed and the way the character moves on some landings.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would like to say this before I say anything else about the game - I got this as part of a bundle. I didn't expect to actually play it in the slightest. I didn't even know what it was or that it existed. After that is said, Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands feels like a gorgeous little hidden gem amongst all of these AAA title games that have came out in these recent years. So what is Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands? Well, it's a game about skiing and, it doe the "skiing" to…

neutral · AI labelView post →Grand Mountain Adventure: Wonderlands is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is spiritually a ripoff of SkiFree (the old Windows 3.1 game), with a little improvement (but surprisingly not much). All you do is ski down various ski slopes with crappy camera controls. The best I can say about this mobile app is that it does work, although the PC port is a bit hamfisted. From a technical…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really Calming and addicting. Great soundtrack. Minimal hardware demand. I wish there were more games like this. The way you are able to freestyle in this game should be an entire genre but I don't see it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very chill game to spend hours playing. Worth it for less than $10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely lovely gem of a game. Smooth controls, sweet music and sooooo many slopes and mountains to explore and free-ride on. Collecting all items on the maps is a lot of fun and surprisingly involving.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, simple, kinda fun. Read the other reviews. I just wanna give a heads-up: THERE IS NO WAY TO RESET PROGRESS IN THIS GAME!!! Apparently, what I read is that some people were having trouble accidentally deleting their saves, so to combat their clumsiness these genius devs apparently decide to fight fire with fire and entirely removed any possibility of deleting a save. So, if your dog sits on your controller and 100% the game while licking his balls then your game's ruined. You're now…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very chill ski game, you can go for things and challenges or you can just carve and relax. I've played it on the phone a lot, but the PC version is even chiller. I would like to be able to fully map controls though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely game! One of the few ports from mobile thats actualy good ! Cant wait for the 2nd one to hit PC !!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could not stop playing this til I ran out of things to do. Some of the endgame Double Diamond challenges are insane and honestly felt kinda broken, but even the few that felt unfair I was able to fumble through with a bit of grinding. Game rocks and is well worth $20 if you play through everything which you should since there's a ton a variety and fun things tucked away. Seems to go on sale regularly too for $3 which is an absolute no brainer. Steeziest little game there ever was.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can not leave a positive review in 2024 as the holds a black screen after launch. Please Fix with current graphic drivers standards, its not on my end. Would love to shreds the slopes with my friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The kind of game you keep installed to come back for a session every now and then. It's simply cool; plenty of fun whether you want to take on some of the many challenges which should take you a good while to complete if you attempt to go for all achievements, or just relax exploring the slopes of 12 reasonably expansive mountain ranges in zen mode, alone or with up to 3 buddies locally. Winning challenges is mandatory for getting access to rides and resorts, but you don't have to do all of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who loves to explore new faces and terrain IRL, I can't recommend this enough. This is a game you want to be great at immediately, but has a little learning curve. But once you're over it, the mountains are yours to discover. Suddenly big air and wild tricks are all within your grasp. And all the achievements and game markers are just optional targets to keep the game fresh. It's too bad there isn't a larger population of players with guides and support, but learning how to…

neutral · AI labelView post →Grand Mountain Adventure is a serene and thoughtfully crafted skiing and snowboarding experience that aims to capture the joy of exploring vast alpine landscapes rather than the pressure of high-speed competition. From the moment you begin your first descent, the game presents a mountain world that feels alive—stretching slopes, tree-lined trails, hidden off-piste areas, and snowy vistas that seem to invite you toward the next peak. Toppluva AB’s approach emphasizes freedom above all else,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After many hours trying to conquer every challenge 3 stars, to endlessly perfecting the sickest line in the parks all across the globe. This game is number one when looking for that winter itch in the summer. Personally will be keeping this in my rotation all seasons long. Can only hope the devs/creators bring GMA2 to steam soon for even more fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cheap senseless mobile stupidity. Occasionately my standard xbox joypad just stops turning right and i can only ride in left circles, wtf.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like to call it POCKET STEEP. Used to play it on my phone, now on PC. The update with the camera from behind is nice. Lots to explore.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is cozy and has a bunch of exploration but the controls and camera placement is dreadful to the point I don't want to play it anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ski (and snowboard)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Perfect game to spend some time on. Simple but nice graphics, gameplay is diverse and rewarding. Plenty of achievements for your profile (if you're into that). A great little game all around.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games. Everything is programmed and modelled really well, but would be better if there is a closer camera option that allows the camera to view the character more horizontally from behind instead of top-down (custom camera view is currently only available in replay mode). Overall it's a very creative game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recently I posted a comment here. Saying that I did not like this version of Grand Mountain Adventure because the camera view is backwards. An incredible person found me and told me how to change the camera view (Thank you) And now i highly recommend this game. I wish I could have a little bit more camera control, but I'm good with what i have now
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The default full-screen implementation has some compatibility issues. In my case, the game always runs minimized. Clicking it makes it come up, then immediately minimize again. Launching it about 20-30 times allows it to run properly once, but any alt-tabbing will break it again. Plus the shadow drawing distance is too low that it breaks the immersion and there is not any option in the graphics settings to change that
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and simple game. Played it a lot in class.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was gifted this game with a message "let's play this together sometime". I'm assuming he thought we could play together because of the "Cross-Platform Multiplayer" tag that this game has. As it turns out you can only play local multiplayer, so as a warning to others, don't be misled by that tag. It's an okay chill game, not my favorite skiing game, just disappointing about the misleading multiplayer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When it's on sale it's definitely worth picking up for a nice way to chillax. I do think the turning transition is way too abrupt and not super realistic, but it's still a nice game to just unwind with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trick controls are pure garbage as is the camera. The difficulty is also terrible. 1% of the challenges are actually difficult while you don't really have to try to finish the rest.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very chill game, perfect when you just want something to relax with, but also has some nice secrets and places where you have to pay attention and apply yourself to get the results you want. Great on both pc and the steam deck. Brings me back to being a little kid and playing Ski or Die on DOS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice and fun arcade game that always sucks me in for hours when I start it up. At the beginning I didn't like the camera placement, but later I realized that it works perfectly for this type of game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly fun and intuitive game play. It's easy to pick up but has some nice challenges that keep it mechanically engaging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huh, I don't really track this, but Steam kinda does, so I'll reconstruct it. I'll give my ratings on a 5 star scale, with 3 being "fun but not special" and 5 being "highlight of the year." **January**: - *Golf Club Wasteland* - 3 - apparently renamed to *Golf Club Nostalgia*; pretty cool golfing game **March**: - *Ori and the Blind Forest* - 4 - fun Metroidvanias **April**: - *Deponia* trilogy - 4 - I love point+click adventure games (nostalgia), and this was better than expected…
neutral · AI labelView post →Really well done, reminds me of the old "Ski or Die" days on DOS.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unbelievably tedious gameplay and awful menus
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun. From all 12 massive mountain resorts, there is countless challenges to discover and complete. Much of this game is optional work, but doing that work is fun. I am trying to 100% this game and having fully completed the first 2 resorts and on the third, I have 9.6 hours playtime on this game. It is very lengthy and worth the price if you like to do everything it provides you. Overall a great game. I recommend changing the camera angle from in front of you to behind you,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game. I've 100%'ed both the mobile versions and this was similarly enjoyable, with slightly different physics and two unique mountains.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Peak winter experience (pun intended).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a simple game with a very straightforward setup but plenty to do. Once you get used to the controls, it's all downhill.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played for just over an hour and Grand Mountain Adventure already means so much to me. It makes me reminisce the time I would spend with my sister playing Go Vacation on the Wii 7 or 8 years ago (this was peak life, by the way). GMA is a micrography of Go Vacation's snow resort; the world feels alive with various NPCs partying, others skiing, others walking around, and others playing music. There are also small settlements of sorts which add to the immersion. The gameplay is really fluid,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Grand Mountain Adventure is an excellent "chill" game to play! The good: It's cohesive in mechanics, style, branding, and overall vibe. It's a low pressure game, great for unwinding, with the occasional challenge available just to give you something to do. It's about skiing and snowboarding, which is a lot of fun, and a great subject around which to center a game. The bad: Honestly I don't have anything bad to say. If I were to suggest any way to improve the game it might be: - Expanded…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It looks cute, but I'm not a far of the top-down camera. For a skiing simulator I would prefer to have the option for a third-person back view perspective. But it seems nice and maybe ski fans can enjoy it more than I did.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, chilled me out. very good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played it a lot on mobile. Now bought it for the steam deck. it's so much better on here. Love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, relaxing game. Takes roughly 16 hours to 100% Wish the double diamond rank was a little more challenging to complete.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun game it is addicting to try and collect every ski pass for every mountain, very chill game easy easy to have a lot of fun on and allows you to add a lot of style to your own gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No multiplayer, only local or Remote Play Together
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing game unless you're going for the black diamond challenges, some of those were quite tough. The mountains have fun gimmicks and really do feel different from each other.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →u go donw ada montine weeeeeeee!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if it was an issue on my end or theirs but when I play this game the game closes almost like im clicking off my screen and onto another monitor. I tried messing with the settings but nothing worked. I won't leave a bad review because I can't even review what I played. fortunately it was early enough for me to request a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →man i frickin love skiin down these here hills
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best ski game I've played, beating steep. It plays similar to descendants the mountain biking game, if you played that you will probably like this. Super chill game 11/10.
