What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 30 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (78 of 106 positive).
Players praise the game for being a fun, faithful beat 'em up that improves on the first game. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game is short, repetitive, and lacks graphical options. [4][5][6] Technical issues like crashes and controller problems frustrate a few players. [7][8][9]

More garbage from Microids and I should have known better. I just lit 25 dollars on fire. I would have rather given it to charity. I am ANGRY this time. I bought it from Green Man Gaming for a discount, so I am stuck with it. After the controversy with the first game not offering resolution options and the company making a statement that they were listening and updating it, what did they do a year later? Release the …

Tried 2-player local coop, we decided to drop the game after about 20 min as we were not having much fun. I think only 2-player for this kind of game is a missed opportunity BTW, they should aim for four players. Idéfix the dog is an obvious fun choice for a 3rd character, or if they want to stick to "human" animations, there are quite a few recognisable characters they could add to the mix. Got a complete freeze on …

Asterix & Obelix Slap Them All! 2 is a colorful, boisterous beat ’em up that embraces the spirit of the classic French comic books with an enthusiasm that is hard to ignore. Developed by Mr. Nutz Studio and published by Microids, the game continues the hand-drawn, comic-authentic visual style of its predecessor while attempting to expand the scale and variety of its brawling adventure. From the opening frames, it’s …

Fun little beat’em up, but it quickly becomes repetitive. It’s only 4 hours long, but you probably won’t play more than 30 mins at a time given its repetitiveness. Big wins are supporting 2 players on the same computer and having voice over in many languages.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the coolest games I've played in recent years... The graphics genre is my favorite, very clever dialogues and nice sounds. It was very interesting overall but a very short game. I completed it within 4 hours in total. I want at least four times as long. But I enjoyed it a lot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asterix and Obelix are back to slap them all again, with the promise to give us twice as much of everything ! The game boasts the same qualities as its predecessor and improves on many of them, but maybe twice as much of "absolutely" everything wasn't such a good idea... Making the game "twice as beautiful" would have been difficult, given how great the first one already looked, and yet... Asterix and Obelix Slap Them All 2 manages to add even more details to the environments, flourishing…

neutral · AI labelView post →A solid beat’em up game that continues the adventures of Asterix & Obelix. For those who played the first game, the second chapter introduces multiple improvements: - Game environment feels more alive and dynamic due to improved visual style as well as non-enemy NPCs being part of background scene. - Character’s energy is no longer needed to perform heavy attacks, run through enemies, or grab and spin foes. This gives you more freedom in how you can play the game and simply introduces…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could simply not get a controller to work on Steamdeck, and the default keyboard controls suck. Like really bad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this game. This is how i expect a Asterix and Obelix beat em up should be. <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just plain stupid fun. $25 bucks though? No way. Totally worth a discount price or Bundle grab.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little game to play for a few minutes as a form of relief. Walking around as Asterix and smacking Romans with one of their own never gets old.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 its got nothing on the 3d platforming games, most of them not nearly as good as Asterix & Obelix XXL 1 and 2 better than 3 tho boss fights that are have janky hitboxes on attacks, are invincible most of the time, and hit like a truck would be fine with most of that but the attacks that DIDNT HIT ME!!! if when you lost at the boss fight who was at the end of the level you dont get sent all the way back to the start of the level
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yeah i dont understand what the hell is wrong with this game, i played it the graphics and controls were nice and then the crashes started, when i was switching to obelix and using his x move the game would just simply crash, that happend 3 times. i tried some fixes but none of them worked, yeah hopefully they will fix this issue.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For an Asterix & Obelix game, it's an 8-9 out of 10 to me. Yes, there are still some things that need to be fixed here and there, but all in all there are no other games of Asterix & Obelix in this Quality.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/5 lots of fun

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly bugged. Controllers not recognized if you don't disconnect the keyboard. Crashes and freezes if you don't cap FPS via Nvidia or AMD control panel. Doesn't recognize "B" button to continue when you die.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for some cartoon beat-em-ups, this one is for you, especially those who don't know about the Asterix comics (including myself). Gives a good challenge when playing solo and feels satisfying beating up Romans and abusing the charge, Asterix's grab and throw, and Obelix's overpowered chain attack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a very decent beat em up, with comic book acurrate asterix, as a lot of dialogue boxes to skip but beating enemys feels satisfying and has a lot of levels and a nice story to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the Best Asterix game ever, all the cartoonish effects gives it a great humor and fun. I beleive other asterix games are no different than any oher supermario style games but this one is so fun and funny. Lots of action options combinations , do not expect adventure tough just fun. I play it everyday at least half hour
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game where based on seqeul of arcade game.

neutral · AI labelView post →Asterix and obelix slap em all is a a mediocre beat em up slop that recycles enemy sprites and other things from the first slap em all game. First off the options menu is completely useless. It lacks for lack of a better word everything. No volume settings,no button config,no graphic option etc. The cutscenes are incredibly stale and the story is unremarkable. The boss fights are slightly more varied than in the first game (Wich isn't much) Cutscene and boss issues are pretty much a staple of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it is actually really fun. Oldschool classic Beat'em Up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Naw. I love Beat 'em up games (like Streets of Rage 4, River City Girls, and Double Dragon Neon from recently, plus a bunch from the '90s). But this just seems like a bad cartoon. I tried it just because it was a beat 'em up, but I can't get into it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A beat 'em up with my childhood favourites; Astérix and Obélix feels really natural. I am very glad I can show those Romans whatfor inside this game where you can toss, pulverise, and pummel those that get in the way. You can either rushdown or throwdown, any style is going to get you through this game. My only gripe is that the animation timing direction isn't great with even stretched story cutscene sprites appearing ingame feeling oddly out of place despite being drawn in the same style.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ true to comics and films + characters funny and wellwritten + side-scroll brawler + good for couch coop + easy to learn (I hate you Red Beard) + funny moves + good environment + funny action + 2D Goodness + okay OST + good Narration - skill set very basic - shorter than the first installment - miss some more movement sets Conclusion: The continuation from Part 1. Also Highly Funny Story about Asterix and Obelix. They punch through their story and travel alot around. Very funny to play with…
