Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is a point-and-click adventure game developed and published by LucasArts and released in June 1992 for Amiga, DOS, and Macintosh. Almost a year later, it was reissued on CD-ROM as an enhanced "talkie" edition with full voice acting and digitized sound effects. Players widely regard this as one of the best point-and-click adventure games ever made. [1][2][3] Many say it captures the spirit of Indiana Jones better than some of the later films. [4][5][6] Some reviewers note issues with the port's quality and lack of modern features. [7][8][9]

The game is good. However, the quality of this port is questionable. Seeing as the original DOS files are included, you may have a better experience using those with ScummVM, as I have. Also, I really do not recommend getting this here. Disney's newest ToS is required, and apparently signing those gives Disney a license to get away with whatever they want, including wrongful death.

This is one of the best point-and-click adventure games of all time. It has an original and memorable story, brilliant puzzles designs and charismatic dialog. If you're a fan of the genre and never played this, play it now! You don't even need to be a fan of the movies to enjoy this game. Also, play it without hints or walkthroughts, even if you'll be frustrated or lose patience - Dark Souls has nothing on the pain …

Critics, per Wikipedia
According to Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts, Fate of Atlantis was "a commercial hit". Noah Falstein reported that it was LucasArts' all-time most successful adventure title by 2009, at which point its lifetime sales had surpassed 1 million units. He recalled that the game's player audience was 30% female, a higher figure than most LucasArts titles had achieved before its release. Reviewers from Game Informer, Computer Game Review, Games Magazine and Game Players Magazine named Fate of Atlantis the "Best Adventure Game of the Year", and it was later labeled a "classic" by IGN. Patricia Hartley and Kirk Lesser of Dragon called it "terrific" and "thought-provoking". They lauded the…

Many years later, I finally completed the game. This game is so much better than most of the AAA garbage we get today.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warning: just like the Last Crusade re-release, press Alt+S to do yourself a favor and remove the horrible smoothing filter. It would be a disservice to the graphics, which, with reportedly few exceptions, are all pure, amazing pixel art that can still surprise today with its level of detail. It's far from Fate of Atlantis' only quality, or even its best: this game is a culmination of everything Lucasfilm/LucasArts did over the previous years. An entirely original Indy story that captures the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I grew up with this game as a child. I have been addicted to this game and is considered to be in my Top 5 favorite Point and Click games of all time. Still play it on occasions on Twitch AND in my spare time. Like Indiana Jones? Want a story better than Crystal Skull? Want a story better than the Dial of Destiny? Play this. You won't regret it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic of the point 'n click adventure era. Reasonably straightforward puzzles except for a few frustrating parts and a neat branching gameplay system that splits the game into 3 approaches based on whether you choose 'teamplay', 'wits', or 'brawn' at the beginning. Awesome setting too (discovering Atlantis). Was fun for me to revisit this for the nostalgia value; modern first-time players may not appreciate it quite as much but I'd say it's still decent enough if you don't mind the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First game i've ever played.....The BEST video game ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has held up surprisingly well, mainly due to good writing and some clever puzzle design - even if there are things that would obviously be done differently these days, and often for the better. (There are some puzzle decisions that are only frustrating, even if mostly they just require the player to backtrack.) It's not my favourite Lucasarts adventure - that's a tie between Monkey Island 2 and Grim Fandango - but it's definitely in the top 5.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finally beat this game after 33 years... Well, with a walkthrough of course! "The GODS don't need BOMBS!"

positive · AI labelView post →My favorite point and click adventure of all time. I think it's the only one I've completed without hints since it was so intuitive. It's also fairly easy to get running on Steam Deck once you add MIDI support for the music in Desktop Mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™ Its a classic point-and-click adventure game from LucasArts that transports fans of the legendary Indiana Jones series to the world of the 1930s. With a captivating story, challenging puzzles, and an atmosphere that perfectly captures the spirit of the films, this game is considered one of the best adventure games of its time. It offers a new, standalone story that is nevertheless deeply rooted in the familiar Indiana Jones themes. Story and Setting:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is a classic point&click adventure game, from the golden age of the genre. It feels like a missing Indiana Jones movie, bringing an exciting story full of adventure and mystery. Originally, the plot came from a rejected script idea for The Last Crusade, and it really shows in how the game feels like an official part of the series. The story is based on different myths and ancient history, especially Plato's ideas, as Indy races to find the lost city of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this as a kid borrowing it from the library. My favourite classic point and click game after Day Of The Tentacle. Works with music on Steam Deck if you use Luxtorpeda for it (which creates an instance of ScummVM for it).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My god if this would've been the fourth Indy film. I finally had the opportunity to play through a part of my childhood not just again, but for the first time in its entirety. The story and characters are very well written, the music is superb, the voice acting is very well done and it’s brilliantly paced. Anyone who has a heart for this franchise and is not afraid of point-and-click adventures MUST go on this journey. „We meet again, Dr. Jones...“
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The standard upon which every other game of the genre will ever be compared with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a masterpiece. From the chemistry between Sophia and Indy, to the story, to the paths and the ways you can progress the game... Worth the 6€.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is in every regard a working game. Meaning, you can play it on a modern PC (Win 10 in my case). I discoverd only a minor glitch where the keyboard did not work when I left the game to the desktop and then coming back. I had to press either STRG or TAB and it worked again. Now, is it fun to play it today ? That is for everyone to decide themself. Of course the graphics don't look good today. If you can reduce your monitors resolution which makes it slightly better. On a 4k monitor you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is brilliant, despite pixelated graphics, which I still found pretty charming, it's one of the best point and click games I've played. Writing, characters, banter, locations, replayability and most of all, puzzles, are just amazing! Speaking of puzzles, if you're not familiar with lucas arts point and clicks, it may be very challenging, so keep in mind few tips that may come in handy: - listen carefully to EVERY character, they often leave clues - expect a little of pixel hunting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is 100% the sprit of Indiana Jones, and would have made a better movie than Crystal Skull or Dial of Destiny. Both of them were ok but this game is OG Indiana - humor, story, etc. Peak Lucasarts in the late 80s early 90s.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frankly the single best point-and-click adventure game I have ever played. Like an Indy movie in a completely different format. Loved every second! Dr. Jones would be proud!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the fist fight in the first 5 minutes of this game is better than some entire modern fighting game releases
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →easy to say this one is in top 10 best old school point and click adventure games of all time, easily paired with maniac mansion
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6.5 / 10 Not everyone's cup of tea, and this game is ancient by today's standards, but I moderately enjoyed it as something to dabble with and as a look at the past. I like that it has alternative pathways, and some of the puzzles of the game require you to think a bit more to get through this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't age very well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve started #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis and my goodness, it feels like a new generation of game compared to #TheLastCrusade. The whole experience is streamlined, with great pacing and puzzles that are fun to solve. The new iMUSE system also adds to the slick presentation. If this keeps up, I’m going to be in love. — #Gaming #RetroGaming #Videogames #ShareYourGames

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a proper Indiana Jones story. A "vintage" point and click game I always come back to when I need a walk down memory lane. Lots of charm. I highly recommend if you are a fan of the movies.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A couple of years ago I played Monkey Island 1 & 2 for the first time and ended up enjoying this style of Lucas Arts adventure game having never really played them before. This gave me that same feeling and made me feel nostalgic for something I never experienced. Cool original Indiana Jones story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the best point and click adventure i've played. multiple paths and endings are nice. each path has its own puzzles situations and some new locations. a few times i found it easy to get stuck but it wasn't to bad and nothing some trial and error and back tracking didn't fix. the voice acting and animations are awesome. if you like the movies the story fits in well with all of that. save the game you can die wasn't expecting that! the game is old but still worth playing if you like this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game was good when it was new, and i never got to finish it in my youth, sadly they did nothing to modernize it, i got late game, didn't save for a while and got KO'd by an enemy it turns out you can't defeat. what happens? game over, start back at the beginning or your last save. it would not have been hard for them to add autosave to this or checkpoints, but no, you're playing the original for better or worse. i cant bring myself to waste any more time with it, looks like i'll just watch…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love it. Best of the series, in my opinion. Still great 30+ years later. The credits intro alone makes this game great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best adventure games ever made. A true masterpiece that will still be a good experience for anyone in any era willing to give it a chance.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best point and click adventure games I've ever played. It's challenging but not too challenging, it's fun, it's suspenseful. In other words, it's a really really really really good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's one of the greats
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got a couple of rough patches, but still one of my all time favorite adventure games. You MUST enable Soundblaster emulation though. On Steam, you can only do this by using ScummVM, which is super simple. Otherwise the game, as presented by Steam, sounds kind of terrible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#LucasArts has a thing for mazes, don’t they? I made it to Atlantis, and luckily this one is easy to traverse. The real problem is that I don’t know what to do yet, but I’ll find out. The puzzles in this game so far are not so far-fetched that they drive you to despair. I only play it every now and then, but still having a lot of fun with it. — #ShareYourGames #RetroGaming #Gaming #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A friend also plays #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis and we were confused when we talked about it because her game takes a different path, with different puzzles, plots, and locations. I didn’t think the game would offer such variety, how fantastic is that? It already sounds like I’m going to play it a second time (I’m actually still at the beginning of my first playthrough haha). — #Gaming #RetroGaming #Videogames #ShareYourGames
positive · AI labelView post →I wonder why the sound quality of the voice in #IndianaJonesAndTheFateOfAtlantis is relatively poor; there’s always a noticeable hiss when characters speak. Maybe the compression is just as bad as it was back then? Apart from that, the voice actors do a great job and contribute a lot to the atmosphere. The characters Jones and Hapgood themselves also have a fun dynamic. — #Gaming #RetroGaming #Videogames #ShareYourGames

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely loved this game, remember playing it originally on the Amiga 'Back in the Day'(tm). Played it without running it through SCUMMV and it worked fine, although I beleive without voices, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, highly reccomend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Strong improvement on the last game. Very good original story, better graphics along with actual VA work. Much better gameplay, sticking to the puzzle-solving which remains much more fun but also simple enough to the point it doesn't frustrate you to death. Haven't completed any of the other paths (only did one ending) but that's also a big plus
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game and plays just like an adventure Indy would go on. The puzzles can be tricky for the average gamer today but nothing a guide won't fix. The final Section of the game is by far the most frustrating with the randomization and backtracking but a satisfying conclusion that overall made it much more fun. I would recommend to Indiana Jones fans.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was one of my favorite computer games back in the early 90s. Playing this brings back so many childhood memories. I was a little surprised at first when I found out that this was the voice acting version since the one I played back then didn't have that. But it was a pleasant surprise. The game is exactly how I remember. Though they did do away with the shaking screen effects during some of the scenes involving tremors, it loses nothing by doing so. I'm honestly just glad to have this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First time playing and I'll definitely play again at some point! Loved the interactions between the characters—Sophia and Indy have great banter. The art style is charming. Warning that some puzzles are more frustrating than others. I do appreciate that most of them have multiple solutions. Make sure to save often is my best tip. Also resizing the game is tricky, but there are a few guides on how to do it that will save you a lot of trouble.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm sure this was a very good game. However, with so many compatibility issues I'm unable to see most of the screen to find out. This game either needs a major look at, or pulling from the store. Shame really.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little game! Lovely story and characters. This was my first point-and-click and I relied a little too much on a guide...all the more reason to go back and play again! Very enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic. Play it npw. And again, later.
