Aldi branding Initial D. The D is for diversity. Writing straight out of a HR department. Play as a group of tea drinking students who talk about their feelings of inadequacy. Easily one of the most mechanically complex and nuanced arcade racers I've ever tried. Each campaign has unique mechanics, but that does have the side effect of not really teaching you how to succeed at the hardest levels when you try to get at them. Strong recommend That said, I don't appreciate getting to the point in the story where the game says "Yes there are shortcuts. No, you can't use them. They're not for …

This is my favorite time-trial game of all time. If you like racing or time-trial/speedruns, you should play this. I recommend this to everyone as I think everyone can get something out of this gem of a game. The mechanics are simple to use, yet deeper than you can see. There are many different cars, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Every car has it's own unique set of drift angles, with in-betweens, …

The character art is atrocious, the writing is boring and a slog, the music is grating. The driving is pretty fun. Put on your own playlist, skip the story and have fun driving.

You'll still need them both, but it is ironic how the dual stick gameplay really doesn't change the mold. - Character art looks awful. Like a teenager drew it. It is extremely jarring the how amazing the world looks. - Basically everything is a time trial. 1/20 of the challenges are Style trials. Races and Duals are…

negative · AI labelView post →Without the story, character design and anything other than what has to do with driving, this would get a positive review. I just don't care about your diverse cast.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The driving mechanics certainly need getting used to, but after that, it's a fun and stylish game but man, if there aren't some annoying flaws with it: 1. the music is terrible. I'm sorry, but Gran Turismo menus-screen music is not suitable for the races themselves. you gotta play your own music 2. a good half of the game modes have virtually no difference between them: a) Ghost Races - these are good. you can at any point see how well you're doing and your own ghost will appear if you do wel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is actually a fighting game, but the opponent is the clock It's not a racing game. Each car has a unique control scheme, in a way that I've never seen before. It's deceiving because no where in the menu does it say, "you literally have to press different buttons in different orders to drive this car." Taking each corner perfectly requires putting in the right "combo" essentially. Absolutely recommend this on sale. I think the amount of content is a little light for $20, but $10-$15…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inertial Drift quickly elevating itself from "enjoyable" to one of my favourite arcade racers. Gameplay is great fun, graphics a mix of Auto Modellista cel-shading and Ridge Racer 4 pastels, and there's real depth too, rather than feeling like a game thrown together for the vibes.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i think this game falls into a lot of the same pitfalls that other indie racing games have, which is not putting enough effort into the presentation. while i fully admit that these can be difficult for an indie dev to do (cars feeling weighty, good engine sounds, sound design in general and good sense of speed, etc), they really do make a difference and it's why i think a lot of lower-budget indie racing games fail to stick with me. this game in particular is on the weaker side of it, with…

neutral · AI labelView post →Game is extremely fun. my only complaint is that the XC difficulty with ibba is damn near impossible. Im not bad at racing games by any means, Ive owned this game on two different steam accs. The times required to beat the missions are unrealistically high, Id argue some cannot be beaten even with a near perfect line. every other character's XC difficulty feels as if its on easy mode compared to ibba. Other than that the game is extremely addictive and worth the purchase.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →//played screamer for a few hours tonight. Game is incredible fun but my god it is HARD. if you ever played Inertial Drift, it’s basically that on STEROIDS!! The story though I am SO INVESTED IN, and the whole overall vibe of the game is FANTASTIC!!!
neutral · AI labelView post →A true arcade racer. I'm regretting not trying it earlier. A first draft after 4 hours. Presentation is probably mid, story is a bit cringe, as usual for such games, but at least it's not as bad as any of the GRID games or NFS. Sound design could use some work, lately it seems to be taboo to have screaming engines, this being the nth game that does somewhat electro racing sounds. Not a fan. OST is good, with a hint of Ridge Racer Type-4. What I am a fan of though is: proper track…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally played Inertial Drift, and I can't believe I didn't before. Probably the first new racing game mechanic that I can remember that really changes how driving works. I will be playing a lot more - it's setting my brain on fire with how good it is.
positive · AI labelView post →The game's concept is quite creative—the dual-stick drift mechanic feels fresh and innovative. Different vehicles handle completely differently, to the point that switching cars almost feels like playing a whole new game. However, the difficulty spikes sharply in the later stages, requiring repeated practice on the same tracks, which can get repetitive and frustrating. Once you finish the story mode, the Grand Prix is where the real challenge begins. The overall comicbook art style almost zero…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deja vu, etc. Its ok. Interesting steering mechanics. Each car has a different steering system, some can drift while accelerating, some requires you to let go off the pedal before you can steer, some require you to brake before drifting. You CAN'T turn without drifting, if you try is almost as trying to steer a 5 ton concrete block uphill. Takes some time to get used to the controls since every class has a different system, but its a pretty good racing game. Art could be better though. Every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I received this game as a present from a friend. It is a very interesting game, the controls are very odd and have a steep learning curve. As far as the story line goes its a very basic cookie cutter story that is canned and very limited. At times the dialogue seems almost AI written. Either way if you can get it for a reasonable price(>$5) it might be a good way to waste a bit of time. Graphics 6.5/10 Story 2/10 Feel 5/10 Controls 6/10

neutral · AI labelView post →I mean, its a fun concept, and the graphics are nice. However, game feels like ♥♥♥♥ to control, story is not that good, and theres no online. Do yourself a favor, just fork the extra bucks and get screamer, it is in my opinion more fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really mediocre at best Ridge Racer clone. Pros are, I suppose the unique approach to controls, but everything else is awful. The character art is horrific, like some sort of tumblr show. It's so bad I'm completely repulsed by it and don't have any reason to engage with the story. Then there's the controls. It completely handicapped any sense of turning so you only drift really. This would be fine if the drifting or maps felt good, but they don't. Everything feels sluggish, oh but if you want…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a bit in shock that this is even a Milestone game. Gravel, Hot Wheels Unleashed, Sebastian Loeb Rally, etc were fine, 6/10, safe, basic B-tier racers. Screamer feels like if Bizarre Creations came back from the dead and made an Inertial Drift game. I'm so happy Milestone pulled this off.
neutral · AI labelView post →I didn't think it was possible to meke a woke DEI racing game, but here it is. Pretty awful characters and story full of woke nonsense. The game, however, is visually stunning. Fantastic art style and very charming. Great music too. But the gameplay is just bad. The gimmick of an analog stick for drift was just a dumb nad idea. They should have made a normal arcade racing game instead... pair this with the fact you have no collision against the opponentes means you're always only racing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just don't like the way this game felt; it made me wish I was drifting in basically any other game. It honestly doesn't really FEEL fast or fun. Also designing a game around drifting but then making pretty much every event type racing is such an odd choice, time trial (racing), ghost racing, and racing (racing obviously) are all just the same thing. Its very odd to not see some sort of score based game type; maybe I just didn't reach one and it is there if so that's cool but the game at its…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rakaso: Rival character in a racing game. I'm talking the type that doesn't acknowledge you in story and has the most FRUSTRATING lines to try and follow on track. Inertial Drift my beloved. Reflex was some sort of party RPG. She's the spawn point of multiple of my tabletop clerics, after all.
neutral · AI labelView post →yeah i watched the hands-on preview and they directly say "this is a mechanic more or less lifted from a game called Inertial Drift"
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm not going to lie, this is probably among the worst feeling racing games I've ever played. It is getting close to NFS 2015 levels of bad and that's saying something. Maybe I'm wrong but I dunno, it just doesn't feel good. I would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really tried to give this game a chance, but everything about it except the bare essentials of gameplay actually upset me. Terrible writing, terrible character design, combined with no option to turn off their distracting text chatter despite the game having dozens of options in other areas. To make things worse most of the game's music is terrible and it completely lacks a jukebox feature, leading me to only want to play on the four DLC tracks where they got someone with talent to make the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game stuck at the tutorial :-( I tried to remap keys and "Reverse key" stuck in "Input key" state. Tries to restore settings or keymap only leads to total game freeze. Steam checked integrity of files and prints that everything ok. So I will try to reinstall the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thing is NFS kinda also died because they couldnt perfect the mechanics around driving in over a decade. Heat was good and enjoyable enough but far from perfect. Then Unbound straight regressed in that department. Driving physics are very hard to get right. But even then you have track design, balancing, AI opponents, career structure, lobby systems for online play, rewarding clean drivers etc. Especially ai drivers and a good multiplayer component are IMHO still unsolved problems. Like…

neutral · AI labelView post →I have no idea what the devs were smoking with these unhinged controls. Sure, if you've never touched a racing game in your life, you might actually enjoy the brain-dead arcade handling. But if you have any actual muscle memory for proper throttle control, braking, and steering on a gamepad, this game will completely break your brain. It actively punishes you for knowing how to drive. And don't even get me started on the PC port. The M&K support is absolute dogwater. ZERO custom keybinds, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly awful in making you feel good about winning. Nothing in this game gives a satisfying driving experience. Even when getting a gold or platinum rating on a map there is no feeling of satisfaction to it since the driving is comparable to an oil tanker crossing a channel, making you relieved it’s over rather than happy you made it. The engines all sound very muted with no noticeable shift in tone or rhythm in the rev range. With the game paused it sounds like the recording of a vacuum…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game, but way too hard & all the various cars drive WAY too differently and are HARD to master. Not recommended if you are a completionist.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Other game I've picked up recently (well, I think I actually bought it a while back, but only now installed it). Inertial Drift. One of the many, many drift-style arcade racers out there, but has a unique visual style and the twin-stick control method is surprisingly intuitive.
positive · AI labelView post →Inertial Drift is a racing game, where you drift with all kinds of cars on colorful and (on some) challenging tracks. One of the highlights of the game is the graphics, as it's colorful and vibrant. It doesn't try to have realistic graphics, but it aims for its own animated style. It's also really cool to see the anime like intro cutscenes, even though there are not many of them in the game. Another thing which really surprised me is the story mode, because you can play with 4 different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool retrowave vibe, but the driving itself is pretty meh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's easy to start, hard to master. only one MASSIVE drawback: HOW TF DO YOU DISABLE YOUR GHOST. you literally can't and it's just so DISTRACTING and stressing. Edit: to dissable the ghost, you have to download a mod which is actually really easy to do, you can check the official discord to find it or just search Itch.io for "Ouija Drift" or "Inertial Ouija" I forgot...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 is my childhood game and I will always love it. I also like various other games from the NFS series, from the first one up to Carbon. Not many newer racing games I like, but I do enjoy occasionally playing art of rally, Inertial Drift, Forza Horizon 4 and Wreckfest.
