This is NOT a tower defense in any real shape! It has a single tower and it has a single enemy type. It is more a puzzle strategy game than anything else and a very slow, limited and easy one at that.

I played the demo a lot and was really impressed by how much depth there is when chasing high scores! Now playing the full game, just finished the second region and wow, it feels like a whole new game using the same core mechanics. Oh, and before I forget, to the person who designed the hardcore stages: thank you but also, I will hunt you down.

Fun little puzzley build-order-focused tower defense game. You have four different base buildings and can get various upgraded towers and buildings via chests/shops. Starts pretty basic and easy but ramps up nicely. Took me about 7 hours to get perfects on the base game (15 maps) and there are hardcore versions after that, which are more difficult. I just finished it, that was fun. At some point difficulty jumped from 'do whatever and you win anyway' to 'oops I made a mistake I need to restart'. Infinite levels to check how long you can survive would be cool I had to retry last mission once, and it starts with relatively long unskippable intro, which could be annoying if I had to restart more than once.

A very interesting take on the tower defense formula. The turn-based gameplay makes this very conducive to highscore chasing, since you can plan and execute build orders repeatably. I consider this both a strength and a weakness of the game. One of the major actions you take each run is exploring the map. But since maps are not randomized, you can explore in a pre-planned manner to uncover exactly the tiles you need. This limits replayability, but increases the potential for…

Wish I could give a neutral rating, but giving a positive as support for the devs. I really like the concept of this game, the gameplay is cute, and it's obvious it's a labor of love with many little fun details (quacking cannon towers as a setting?!). It just feels... a bit shallow. Like the potential is there, but was kept too surface level in an effort to keep it cute. The main playthru is pretty short. It's disappointing, but only because I want more. Overall 6/10

Intro: Resource management game with towers. Later stages will add changes to terrain or add weather effects that will affect your resources. Getting perfect on a round means you did not take damage on your castle and cleared the waves quickly. Winning gives diamonds and feathers for unlocking new stages. Islets Defense – Strategy with Heart After completing all the current base content in Islets Defense (I'm halfway through the hard mode stages), I’m left impressed by the craftsmanship, surprised by the challenge, and occasionally frustrated in ways that only a good strategy game can manage. idk why I tuned out when I watched the trailer that this would be a tower defense, I was expecting more card-based gameplay, but I'm not disappointed at all. It's a very interesting take on tower defense. Great way of limiting the actions and how you have to deal with them. A really neat turn-based tower defense game. It mixes some exploration and exploitation in the form of uncovering the map and creating buildings to extract resources. There's a bit of spatial min/maxing as well in how you arrange your buildings to make best use of their upgrades. The way you choose your action each turn is pretty cool . You have four actions (build, upgrade, explore, and morph) in your 1, 2, 3, and 4 slot. Whenever you use an action, it goes to the 1 spot and pushes all the…

Islets Defense takes the tower defense genre on a unique detour, blending strategic resource management with a delightfully nostalgic visual style. Forget frantic clicking – here, every action is a calculated turn, played from a deck where used cards cycle back to the bottom, forcing you to plan sequences carefully. It feels refreshingly like a board game brought to life. Positive moments: * Visually Cozy: The art style immediately grabs you – simple, childhood-evoking, and surprisingly…

Outstanding game, an actual jewel in the indie category. The depth of the mechanics is unrivaled: albeit simple and easy to learn, the player is offered a huge level of agency throughout multiple action options, skyrocketing the replay value and making us want to keep playing the same stages again and again, specially with the introductions of the hard mode (which is actually pretty hardcore) and the possibility of attempting to beat the scores of the devs themselves. Islets Defense is one of those rare strategy games that manages to feel both familiar and genuinely fresh at the same time. Developed by MiniGoof and published by Nuntius Games, MiniGoof, and Vsoo Games, it takes the well-worn foundations of tower defense and reshapes them into something slower, more deliberate, and far more thoughtful. Instead of testing your reflexes and multitasking under pressure, it challenges your ability to plan, sequence, and optimize decisions over time. The result is…

Very fun and unique approach to a tower defense game. The care the developers put into the difference of each stage in terms of art, mechanics, and stage events was such a breath of fresh air for a typically stale genre. Hard mode variants of each stage are genuinely difficult but also rewarding to figure out. I am impressed with how much this game made me strategize and do things in the correct order, and you can tell the game was made with a lot of love. Big fan!

Highly recommended! Islets Defense is about balancing your food and building material production against your need to build towers in a map where you need to clear the fog of war to interact with anything outside your vision. Upgraded buildings are much more efficient, but also take a lot more food, and you have to leave your actions cards in your line-up to build certain buildings and morph certain tiles, so this takes some judgment calls that make for a pleasant challenge. The game's split…

Islets Defense pretty unique turn-based tower defense/city builder, where you are managing your resources with the main purpose of building defenses and upgrade them to survive waves of enemies. Graphics are incredibly cute and charming, perfect to give you chill vibes, while dealing with the enemies (although sometimes they look too cute and it's sad to kill them).
