This game looks like it should be really fun, but honestly the combat is just crap. Way too awful to recommend. Here's the problem: All your damage is at the end of attack combos. So like you'll do 6-8 hits or something for 100 damage, and then a smash for 1400. If you can't get the smash, the fight is gonna take FOREVER. And the bosses are all designed to keep you off balance, keep you rolling, keep you mobile, and …

KAKU: Ancient Seal is like a Ubisoft open-world game, but without the Ubisoft formula, and I have to admit that it is surprisingly good and works great. Complete 1.0 Review It probably won’t win any end-of-the-year awards, but Kaku: Ancient Seal’s 1.0 release is still a consistently enjoyable (albeit shamelessly familiar) open world ARPG. Four-Minute Video Review: https://youtu.be/4vZyHi_s9rg STORY You are Kaku: a perpetually hungry tween caveman kid thing who underwent some impressive cosmetic surgery during his year in Early Access. After a rushed opening hour in which you'll chase a tiny pig while getting chased by a big pig…

Can't recommend right now due to : - Linear progression / story ( this game would benefit from a semi open or open world game design, - Clunky boss encounters ( weird hitboxes, some animations have no anticipation and happen immediately others are easily dodged ) - Sporadic difficulty spikes overall too easy, - Bugs ( can't progress further because when the game asks me to "CHANGE DISGUISE" by holding middle mouse button and F4 - nothing happens. Bar fills up and.... thats it. - Cringy…

The game idea and story itself is nice but it has too many bugs right now, the controller doesn't work properly in the game and when I was playing the graphics went all black, I couldnt see where I was going and after restart it was fine. I recommend waiting until these issues are fixed to play the game.

Really cool action adventure game. Gameplay and gampad is responsive, not sure what that other guy is on about. Visuals are great and I had frame rates above 144 constantly at high, so I would say better optimized than some AAA games out there. The game offers plenty of depths with skills and equipment variety. This is an easy recommendation for me. Unfortunately, the game doesn't detect PS5 controller icons. EDIT: This game uses Denuvo Anti-Tampering. Not sure why it's not stated but…

The art style & overall atmosphere is great. However, the game itself feels pretty boring. This is due to a combination of it being very easy & the realisation that you are likely going to be whacking enemies the same way with little variation for the entire of the game. Once you have played the first hour, you have very likely seen most of what the game will be like. Also the optimisation is a little problematic. It is not the worse, it is just not great either

The game reminds me a little bit of Immortals: Fenyx Rising, which are good thing. But, the the bosses absorb WAY too much damage compared to the regular mobs. This is a balance issue; at first I thought the first boss was a stress test or something. Nope, that's every boss at least getting up to the wind temple boss. Which is a shame because it seems refreshingly short for this genera and is graphically beautiful. If you get it, get it at deep discount as YMMV.

This game is very pretty to look at - the graphical style is different from a lot of other games I've played so it feels like a breath of fresh air in that regard. Though, I'm rather disappointed with the lack of puzzles there are within the first part of the game. It's being marketed as a PUZZLE game, and yet if there were any puzzles, they didn't feel like a puzzle. The combat is very repetitive, with the KB+M controls are all over the place, making it feel awkward to do a specific move in a…

Really wanted to like this game. Reminded me of Pine, which I enjoyed. Unfortunately, it's become so frustrating I don't even want to try any more. - Saves are at specific locations, meaning if you want to explore and die you go back to that location. - I remapped Sprint to <shift>, which is normal and sometimes the game remembers my change, sometimes it doesn't. I want to sprint but end up dodging, and falling into water, which takes me back to my first issue. Very disappointed

im not sure if i will finish it, very repetetive and generic, while the combat and graphics seem fun, most cutscenes are boring and some are so unoptimized they stutter, also some areas like the starfall ruins are stuttering sometimes. im a big open world fan, but this feels kindah grindy in a bad sense. i feel like they couldve offered less quests, and smaller worlds, and polished it more instead. it feels like over ambitious but half hearted. will see.

Can't recommend as it simply can't decide what it is. Looks like a fun cute adventure game but then sticks 4 phase boss fight at the end and the bosses are like souls-lite level. It's just weird. Also, having to watch cinematics again annoys the hell out of me. Follow in the steps of khazan, when seen once, skip by default don't force me to sit hammering escape to get through them Also outstays its welcome for me as grew repetitive, and the gear and upgrades were all very samey. Not recommending simply because although it's not a terrible game, it's also just not that interesting. You wouldn't be missing anything if you gave it a miss. You're mainly collecting materials for upgrades (ores, stones, plants etc...) that are spread around the world and in chests. There's 4 worlds to explore but other than the visual change of the environments, they're basically copy and paste in the materials you find, the interactable objects, the villages and quests. So it felt like…

Great RPG!!! But level and (mostly) puzzle design is the most obnoxious that I have seen in years (every other aspect of this game is fantastic). Most puzzles could be solved with attention to every detail and some trial and error. If you like old school charm of "what the heck should I do next to progress" - go for it, you will get that feeling a lot for better or worse.

A Open World, Platformer, Action Adventure, Role Playing Game. Its fun you don't have to get hardcore to be into it and the the content in the game is large so its not quick to beat. The graphics are decent and the game play is really good, story's decent but not all there but seriously not a big deal compared to all the puzzles, bosses, side quests and upgrades to keep you busy regardless. It's early access and has a few bugs but it's already fun to play. The controls are a little buggy. Sometimes Kaku doesn't jump or pushing E in time puzzles doesn't work. Kaku often gets stuck in the world. I don't know why but I think it's the edges of the stones on the ground. It can get a little frustrating when more than one enemy attacks and you can't fight back because you can't move when you're attacked. But the enemies can still hit you when you attack. I love the puzzles, the enemy…

It is a well-made action adventure with RPG elements. The controls are a bit off as you pick up things and run with the same button, also the right stick is more sesitive as the norm. But still, it is a great game from an unknown developer, and I'm eagerly waiting for the next.

When I get my mitts on a cheap game key for a good game, I feel bad and end up buying DLC/cosmetics or other stuff from the developer and publisher. This won't be one of those times. For a game that's largely a platformer, it just isn't there. The movement feels like out-of-box UE: it's really stiff, making it generally unsatisfying to move around. The screen is cluttered with ♥♥♥♥ like an MMO or something from Ubisoft, and I'd rather not have to use the immersion mode as this completely…

This is a surprisingly big game. It's also a surprisingly hard game (mainly from a platforming-perspective rather than the combat, but any fight where you can get knocked off the side of the arena is nigh-on impossible due to the outrageous knock-back range. Obviously lowering the difficulty doesn't change this). It's the kind of game I might have 100%'d, but finding all pieces of the blank stele is going to be way too tedious and the later challenges you do to boost your health or stamina…

This game is not perfect. It has a few minor bugs, but also some major ones. I experienced one of the latter. A whole area stoped working, the devs could not help me. Nevertheless I enjoyed playing the game a lot, so I want to recommend it.

Cool game overall that can be a nice palate cleanser to everything else that's out there. Combat is not quite balanced as well as it should be, boss battles can be arduous with annoying move patterns that need to be memorized. The steps to properly defeat certain bosses are not always evident and can require guess-and-check methods. There are a ton of dungeons requiring puzzle solving and maze racing to help Kaku level up, this can be fun for awhile but sometimes feel like a repetitive chore.…

Didn't care too much for about the first hour. I thought it was a cheap version of Zelda BOTW or Immortals Fenyx Rising but it grew on me. As I was playing it I was surprised at how much content is here. You definitely get your moneys worth. Some boss fights kinda annoyed me but overall I ended up loving it and I'm glad I played it.

Having played this on early access and found it to be just ok, I have to give it up to the developers for making huge improvements to the finished product and making a pretty dang solid action platformer that feels reminiscent of the late PS2/early PS3 era, with a few caveats. Pros: +Combat flows well +There's a really nice variety of skills +The maps are big enough that they're pretty enjoyable to go through and there's enough in them to make exploration worthwhile +The puzzles feel…
