What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 293 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (11,368 of 13,064 positive).
Some reviewers report technical issues like crashes and audio bugs. [1][2][3] Several players note the collection lacks full ports for two titles. [4][5][6]

Love the games but this port is abyssal. Bought to play on Steam Deck but the audio is crackly and I actually refunded it over this issue since there was no fix capable of fixing it. Ended up buying it AGAIN now to try again after some time (and chose to play on PC this time rather than Steam Deck) and while the audio crackle is gone (only on PC, STILL an issue on deck) I have been dealing with constant issues with …

finally finished KH1! remember getting stuck in the jungle when I was kid. The story, the gameplay, the memories... it's all still the same. Thanks, Square Enix, for this game. No matter the price, it’s worth every penny to buy back those memories. and when kh4 -_-

I really feel I have been healed by this game. I struggle with autism and ADHD and this game helped me to understand my emotions really well. The feeling of 'I can't remember you but you feel familiar' message that KH puts forward so often tells you your feelings matter, even the ones that don't make sense. I felt especially invested in Birth By Sleep and it was preparing you to watch Re:coded and I just felt my …

Game is good, but a couple issues. For anyone looking to buy, the game is actually only KH1, Re:CoM, KH2, and BbS. Recoded and 358/2 are just cutscene compilations, though I recommend googling "MelonMix" to fix this, as its a mod which returns these titles to full playability in the collection. It's also a little crash-prone, which isn't great for a game that wont let you save just anywhere. Chain of Memories seems …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this with the intent to 100% all of these beloved games and absolutely suffered in the MINES 100%ing KH1 through one crash on average every thirty minutes of gameplay. I wanted to believe this was isolated to KH1, but I didn't make it 90 minutes into Re:Chain before a crash. So I quit. These ports are absolute garbage and Square should be embarrassed, and held accountable. Edit: if this helps anyone, for visibility, I disabled discord and nvidia overlays and the crashing stopped. My…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →was given the first game up back in like 2003 for christmas. I was hooked immediately. I had played FF games until this. This was my first introduction to ARPGs. Fantastic Score, awesome voice cast. 100/10 Rest In Peace Hayden Panettiere, you will be missed. I'm so sorry people treated you the way they did. You didn't deserve it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the games themselves are phenomenal and absolutely deserve a recommendation, I can’t recommend this port in its current state. I have only played Final Mix so far, and despite making it through most of the game with little to no hiccups, the end game has been filled with constant crashes and audio bugs. The two points I’ve been crashing at have been during cutscene transitions and area transitions, leaving just a black screen with a constant loading symbol. This has led to me having to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is it absurdly overpriced given that this collection regularly goes on sale for like $8 on PS4? Yes. Was the length of time it was an Epic exclusive absurdly and needlessly long? Of course. Is it kinda cringe and outdated in a lot of ways? Look at it. It’s just as beautiful as the day I last played it. I’ve beaten Kingdom Hearts 2 probably 15 times from start to finish throughout my life, and have owned it on like 4 systems. The amount of real estate this damn series has taken up in my mind…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9.5/10 collection. Runs well especially on Steamdeck. 4 games, 2 short movies. KH1 is probably the only installment that feels dated in its gameplay simplicity. You'll play mostly for the story, which is enough due to the gameplay being fun and engaging enough to have you sit through the journey. The story is super interesting even today, the worldbuilding of why all these worlds collide and exist together, Disney, Final Fantasy and new original characters is interesting, thematically and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty decent compilation but unfortunately they didn't include Kingdom Hearts: Sora's Big Maths Adventure from the Casio FX-82ES Plus Scientific Calculator, so I have to give it 4 out of 5 stars.

neutral · AI labelView post →The very first optional challenge in the tutorial area - fighting the protagonist's friend for a laugh - is harder than the first 3 bosses from Dark Souls put together. The combat designers are disgusting perverts. This should put me off despite how otherwise appealing the game is, but it's doing the opposite at the moment...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game irrevocably shaped who I am as a person. It's also so incomprehensible you need a whiteboard and a 49 slide powerpoint to explain it. 10/10 please use a guide for KH1 it's a mess.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming back to Kingdom Hearts 1 after playing it as a kid, I was surprised by how much more depth the game has than I remembered. The combat is not just about mashing X, bosses require paying attention, learning patterns, managing abilities, and actually thinking about your approach. Some fights were much harder than I remembered, but in a satisfying way. The characters, worlds, music, and story are still the biggest strengths of the game. There is something special about seeing Disney and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played these games like 15 years ago, while also not remembering too much of the story and stuff, I had the right amount of nostalgia to truly enjoy them. The games are LONG if you want to 100% complete them (which I never did back in the day), and every one has its flaws, but even to play it in the easiest difficulty to enjoy the story is worth it in my opinion. As a side note, I want to wish to the devs that decided to make fruitball an unbearable pain to complete, that they step on…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've finished all 6 games in this bundle and that includes the 2 that were not ported through emulation. This series is already an amazing story with just these games in this bundle. The only unfortunate thing about this is the 2 movies instead of ports. Having played through the 2 games now I can say that with at least recoded you are not missing much but 358/2 days was a amazing experience and its so sad that it did not get a port like it deserved. You can still watch the movie version but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The games should be able to be installed separately to save space on your PC. If I only want to play the first title, that's the only one I should have to install. KHIII takes up the least space because there's no nonsense packed in alongside it. I want to play the entire series again for the fourth time, but I simply do not have the room because of these franchise bundles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The audio is impressively ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Apparently the epic games release had an issue where upon hitting too many enemies at once, the audio would spike. Their way of "fixing" it was to make the audio go as low as it can whenever a spike happens, instead of actually getting rid of the spikes. It is something that can consistently happen throughout the entire game and is always incredibly distracting. This is a 50 dollar collection, fix your ♥♥♥♥.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A ridiculous amount of content for the price. Fun, addictive, and packed with hours of gameplay. Absolute steal.

neutral · AI labelView post →Idk how this game has a very good rating on here? People must have upvoted without even playing this collection beforehand for nostalgia reasons, but trust me there are so many visual glitches that make this game unenjoyable from visual, to menu bugs, and lots of crashing. The first kingdom hearts I didnt encounter any problems, but kh: re com is where I first encountered crashing and menu bugs, then with kh2 it got worse with the crashing, visual issues and menu issues. I recommend just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Peak Hearts 1 the dynamics between the characters, the story, gameplay, themes, worlds everything about Kingdom Hearts 1 is perfect. I just finished playing the game with all achievements, and I'm genuinely looking forward to the other games. I genuinely shed tears when we played as a heartless. Legit I had to take a 10 minute break because I cried so much during those two minutes of gameplay. And the ending, dude...... simple and clean made me cry even harder. I really hope they find each…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After earning every achievement, I can confidently say that Kingdom Hearts is one of my all-time favorite games, and without a doubt one of the best game series I’ve ever played.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kingdom Hearts 1 - Great story, however suffers from old game design such as bad platforming mechanics, can get easily lost in the levels and have no indication as what you should do next. 7.5/10 Re: CoM - Combat is card based and unintuitive, maps are small rooms. Over all a downgrade in every aspect from Kingdom Hearts 1. 4/10 358/2 days - No gameplay just cutscenes Kingdom Hearts 2 - A more confusing story, but improves on KH1 problems. Combat is faster, mini maps can be acquired,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really beautiful and neat collection of my childhood game. kh 1 and kh 2 are very enjoyable experiences, though i wish they made 358/2 days playable instead of a cutscene compilation
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this collection but why the ♥♥♥♥ does Re:Chain of memories play like a creepy pasta, all these menu ui glitches and crashes are really weird for a game that plays better on the ps4
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →KH1 and 2 have easily risen to be some of my favourite games ever, but the fact i can barely make it 30 minutes through Birth By Sleep without an infinite loading screen making my lose hours of progress is inexcusable. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kingdom Hearts is my favorite video-game franchise of all time. to this day, its one of those games i come back to almost every year, just to relive that feeling of waking up on a sunday morning and playing it alongside my siblings. it has the emotional connection of classic walt disney movies and final fantasy titles, beautifully crafted under the direction of tetsuya nomura and the incredibly talented creative team at square enix. no matter what anyone says, you can start the series in…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two of the best action RPGs ever made and four other things that dont matter. so glad kingdom hearts ended after 2 and never got bad and confusing and a vessel for disney to market new movies. so glad that didnt happen
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs great when capped to 60-120 FPS, dont expect a uncapped framerate or anything above as frametimes get wonky, v-sync still needs to be enabled and you'll have a great time playing these games. Play with a controller, youd have to be desperate to want to use mouse/keyboard. Takes me back to the 2000s playing this on my ps2 all night grinding for lv99
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The crashes....feels like every fourth action is a crash. Devs don't seem to care and fixes seem to not be consistant. It truly isn't worth the frustration, but if you really must just be aware the more you play the more it gets worse.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →kh birth by sleep is the best game in the series 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those who played the games on home consoles growing up, this is the definitive experience for better or for worse. Thank goodness these games are finally on Steam, because I refused to sign up to a different storefront just to be able to play KH. IMO the games rank as follows: 1) Kingdom Hearts 2 (Obviously) 2) Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep 3) Kingdom Hearts 4) Kingdom Hearts: re:Chain of Memories I actually really like all four games, even re:COM (I loved the Gameboy Advance…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I highly recommend this collection of games. KHII is my favorite game. Kingdom Hearts I & II are fantastic. Very fun to play through and 100%. I had no crashes or major technical issues playing the game at 60fps on a ROG Ally X. Performance was good and only dipped once or twice across both games. KHII ran smoother. I don't think I had any performance dips. Re Chain of Memories is the worst performing game in the bunch. I had multiple crashes. I only lost like an hour of grinding, but I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a non story spoiler review of these games, they will be reviewed as a whole rather than the individual titles. Introduction Kingdom Hearts changed my life. I'm not kidding. I did not grow up with this series, I only got into it when I purchased it in June 2024. I had also never played a game by Square Enix before (not even Final Fantasy) so I had no previous biases or opinions towards that. But where I'm standing now I can confidently say this game changed my life. Before getting into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I typically do not write out long reviews for games, but this game holds such a special place in my heart ( pun intended) that I must write more than just "game good". This and every game in the series has to be one of the most well thought out combat and story ever created on God's green earth. I kid you not that it is an emotional rollercoaster with such high highs and very sad lows. If you ever get the chance to play this game I believe that you will have the time of your life.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never played these games as a kid so i do not have any nostalgic ties to them but they make me feel like I am a kid again. KH2 is a masterpiece that hits such high and low emotional beats while evolving on the gameplay of the previous titles. If there is one game that I wish i could wipe my memory and play again for the first time it would 100% be KH2. Yes the story can be confusing at times and some of the combat especially in the first game can feel clunky, it does not take away from the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huge fan of the series since 01. Being able to relive those memories and moments from my childhood makes me happy as adult. Happy that I finally got to beat the ass of those extra bosses! EAT IT!!!! Anyway bought the series for the 4th time. I love being an adult.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this port is really good! i still don't like having multiple games as one entry on the library, but this is a non problem (also its how they've been releasing KH games sinces 2012) kh1 deep jungle is ass.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kingdom Hearts is one of my all-time favorite franchises, so it automatically gets a thumbs up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kingdom Hearts is one of my favorite games. The type of series where i'd buy the same exact games 4 times in my lifetime on different generations of consoles. It's full of magical fun, with amazing and innovative combat, a deep dark story that gets you gripped and excited to put the pieces together, and a star-studded cast that all truly care and put passion in the script they're reading. Starting from Kingdom Hearts 2 back in 2010, i've been addicted ever since, playing every game including…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nostalgia trip for anyone born in the 90s or 00s. Kingdom Hearts is one of my most cherished stories I ever played throughout my childhood and the franchise sale allowed me to experience it once again. If you're thinking of purchasing, the answer is yes. Everyone with the means of purchasing should give the Kingdom Hearts series a shot. The series original character dynamics, soundtrack, and story are all peak, KH1 has infuriating level design, but shockingly fun combat combined with an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The definitive way to play Kingdom Hearts. It's so nice playing this on a big screen TV at 1080p 60 fps. I always have so much fun replaying KH1 and KH2. This is a must own game in most people's collection. This is even better with the Refined mod that adds many useful quality of life features, making the games much more enjoyable than they already are. I recommend pairing it with the mod to skip the logo screens for a smooth experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Kingdom Hearts, it's been done to death at this point, but the gameplay loop is really fun for a game that series that started when people were still mapping camera control to the shoulder buttons. The plot is saccharine nonsense, but it's still somehow really fun. You already know if you're gonna play this or not.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i'm still on kh1 but kingdom hearts has cemented itself as one of my favorite games. I have really high hopes for the next games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My favourite JRPG as a kid, ruined by a pretty bad PC port. I'm running AMD's 7900 XTX and still experiencing crashes despite the alleged fix. I have also tried modding it with the Re:Fined mod, and it still just crashes mid cutscenes, area switch, and in combat. Even with the autosave function modded in, it still is too much of a pain to have to retry fights just because they cant make a port properly. Feel free to comment about any solutions, if you've a similar experience using the same GPU!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →these games are filled with heart, written by emotion first and formed by light, Loved the hell out of it. Utada sums it up best: Simple and clean Is the way that you're making me feel tonight It's hard to let it go You're giving me Too many things lately You're all I need, oh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cant believe that i just found out that my favorite game of all time is on steam, not just that but literally all of them. 10/10 this is nostalgic. i love kingdom hearts
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a phenomenal bargain being offered for a grand total of 6 games from a wide range of platforms being brought together for PC. Not every title is perfect but all of them are definitely worth giving a try. I have yet to finish everything in every single game but this is what I think of each game so far. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix This was my first introduction into Kingdom Hearts, and I loved the charm it introduced, going back through childhood memories of the Disney Characters from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad PC-port of a great console game which keeps crashing randomly for no reason. Probably never going to get fixed as they'll probably drop a new version soon which will very likely be just as broken. If you still want to buy it on pc don't get it at full price at least.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought the collection for $40 because I'm kind of excited about kingdom hearts 4 and for the price was kind of a steal. I have never played a kingdom hearts so I'm jumping in for the first time and only a couple hours into the first one and even though its a little clunky. I'm having a great time with it. I plan on beating all the games before kingdom hearts 4 comes out. So far I super recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →KH1 is cool CoM is... a game 358/2 is only the lore cutscene bits but like whatever KH2 is GOATED BBS also pretty poggers re:coded is also just lore and may as well not exist 3 good games, 1 'game', and a whole lot of lore, it's some damn good value
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish I could leave a MIXED review. Kingdom Hearts as a game series isn't what I want to talk about here. I honestly have no notes on the game itself, you either like it or you don't. But the Port for PC? THIS Port? GARBAGE. It crashes almost 50% of the time you go through a door, has audio bugs that happen randomly, visual bugs in the menu so you can't even read what any of the choices say, and did I mention it crashes constantly? In a game that doesn't have an auto-save feature?…

Dont get too hung up on the story, just enjoy the ride, especially as a Classic Disney and Final Fantasy fan. Obviously the music is insanely beautiful, Yoko Shimomura cant be praised enough for her body of work. Kingdom Hearts 2 will forever hold a special place in my heart and it has one of the best combat systems and combat feels ever.
