What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 53 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (131 of 155 positive).
Players enjoy the game's co-op and humor, but note bugs and early release issues. [1][2][3] A few reviewers report game-breaking bugs or missing features like local co-op. [4][5][6]

Not finished... Bought the game because the demo was okay. Once you click on local coop, the game tells you it's not finished. So, this is basically early access when not being labelled as such. Plus the game seems to use leaderboards without asking permission first. So, some maybe minor doxing going on there. I don't think the devs are malicious, but there seems too much neglect in communication to the customer. …

A satisfying indie game! The basic defense system is effective and easy to grasp. It features a substantial amount of content, pleasant music, and questionable (yet amusing) jokes. In short, it is a game worth adopting!

Unplayable from minute 0, keyboard doesnt respond if certain menus are opened, normal "press e" to interact doesnt appear, stuck at main menu, cant do anything else. record for new quickest refund of any game ive played, crongrats **UPDATE** they found the bug, they fixed the bug, ill be giving it another go

Picked this up expecting a simple tower defense and got something a lot more layered, with dungeon runs for loot, base upgrades, and raids that force you to actually plan where your turrets go. Solo is genuinely fun but co-op is where it clicks, and the French dub had my group laughing more than it had any right to. Be warned though, we hit our share of jank in the first sessions, including a friend stuck floating …

Solid little game. A bit pricy considering I beat it in under 4 hours, but overall it was fun and hope more content gets added. There is still some unlockables and an endless mode so I'll be playing those, but fingers crossed for more upgrade options and game modes!

81% of the 53 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Kritter: Defend Together. The complaint that keeps coming up: bugs and crashes, especially in early acts. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

neutral · AI labelView post →Can’t wait for the sequel where DK gets clubbed to death by a random Kritter, and the rest of the game is spent trying to emotionally manipulate us into liking said Kritter despite them doing nothing but being a homicidal dickhead throughout the game

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello Bluesky! We’re currently working on Kritter, our second video game. Kritter is a base defense roguelite. You can play solo or with up to 4 players in co-op. Humor and replayability are our guiding principles. Wednesday, the demo of Kritter will be available to play on Steam. Stay tuned ! 👀
neutral · AI labelView post →Kritter has an interesting concept, but it feels underdeveloped in its current state. There are quite a few bugs that can interrupt the experience, which makes it hard to stay fully engaged. Build diversity is also lacking — there aren’t enough meaningful options to experiment with, and some legendary perks don’t scale or function well in multiplayer. Because of this, all kritters end up feeling the same by the late game, which hurts replayability. Another frustration is the augment…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great co-op shooter to play with friends. there are some bugs since it's still an early release, but I believe more contents will come after!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't think it's a coincidence that one of the most fondly-remembers sports games is Super Sluggers, a game that allows you to assemble a team with Baby Daisy and Red Kritter. Meanwhile the only thing people remember Battle League for is that it didn't have Daisy at launch
neutral · AI labelView post →An interesting mix of genres with constant exploration and task switching; it will be interesting to watch how it develops. I'd like to see the ability to save between acts, as well as some kind of metaprogression for the characters themselves, not just the base. So far, we've only managed to reach level 2; playing with two players seemed easier than with four players. Perhaps the enemies in four players need to be toned down a bit.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a crazy idea that I know probably won't happen but dare to dream: K. Rool or even just a Kritter as dlc for the mario kart game assuming they're not unlockables in the base game
neutral · AI labelView post →Great co-op tower defense game. I've been having fun playing it with friends from the first hour and am still enjoying it. The endless mode adds hours of extra challenge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game! Can be a bit buggy at times, but devs are active in bug fixing after recent release :) Decent balance of depth and simplicity for the price, and a fun coop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loooove the game so much ! I'm already getting kind of addicted :') There are still quite a fex bugs but the developers working hard on it ! They are extremely active and fixing them quickly and they are so nice ^^ It's very fun to play, and VERY VERY fun in multiplayer ! Special mention to the VF :D Quite a great job ! I love so much Pepe Rocky's accent The game make me laugh a lot ! Please go and test it :D I'm already going bacj to play more...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multiplayer doesn't work. Avoid if you want to play with friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game continually crashes when setting up for the third act. UPDATE: Don't know what the change was but I am now able to progress through the third act. Game is great with a friend, I can see the replay cycle being a bit boring after upgrades are unlocked. Hopefully more content is released soon.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was able to test it with some friends at a convention in Paris; the team was super kind and very passionate about their game. We did a local and online co-op. The characters are so cute, I love their design! Overall, the game is addicting. You may die, but you come back with your previous advantages, giving you the urge to play more and more to unlock all the upgrades. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play it since the release for personal reasons; nonetheless, as soon as I get in front of my…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kritter: Defend Together I apologize: I was not aware of your game! I heavily underestimated how much fun this was going to be! Despite some bugs, the concepts and gameplay are very fleshed out and will get better with more content. An excellent co-op game! store.steampowered.com/app/2454700/...
positive · AI labelView post →One Mario and two DK Characters have yet to make a reappearance from Mario Super Sluggers from 2008. Some characters after this game disappeared for a few or more years such as Toadette, Nokis, Dixie, Funky, Kritter, K. Rool, and other Babies but are back nowadays. Toadsworth?
neutral · AI labelView post →Kritter: Defend Together blends action roguelite combat, resource gathering, tower defense, and cooperative survival into a fast-moving experience where preparation is almost as important as fighting skill. Developed by LJF Games and published by LJF Games and NAGA, it places players in control of robotic Kritters stranded on a hostile alien world after their vessel, M. Ark, crashes. What begins as a straightforward mission to protect the ship soon develops into a repeating struggle involving…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately quite rough around the edges and still very unpolished. Got stuck in the tutorial multiple times 'cause the tutorial enemy "died", but didn't disappear. Even for less than the buck that I got the game for, I still wouldn't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would be great with Local Coop as that's why I bought it. But currently its still saying version 1.1 has local coop. So wait to purchase it until then.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wonderful little tower defense. Actually, little is an understatement -- it's quite flushed out with lots to do for the price. I cannot believe it's not more popular. The singleplayer is very fun -- I'm sure multi is even better (if my friends would play with me...)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →【Breaking News】 In response to the latest news in the gaming industry, effective April 1, 2027, Kritter: Defend Together discontinues physical game.
neutral · AI labelView post →Solid game experience, beat it in 4.8 hours which feels a little short. There is hardcore mode and you can say i didn't beat it which is fair for some users. but for me personally I've unlocked all the content and not too excited for hardcore. Needs more content at the hardcore point. Great Narration, Gets you a few good laughs, Fun core loop. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, runs well on my Ayn Thor
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy how this game has come along over the past year. I like being able to explore the map and get different perks during the runs. Multiplayer mode is my fav but I also have a good time doing solo runs. While there's still some bugs the devs have been very responsive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool game, had a lot of fun in coop ! Kinda nerve wracking at times, failed a lot before upgrading and was surprised by the difficulty but the progression feels really good Funny voice acting (love Mark) and the music is absolute cinema It's a little rough around the edges indie gem, hopeful for more content/polish and 4player couch coop !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing the free Demo for some time and enjoyed it a lot with friends. We decided to buy it on release day and we imideatly played it for at least 4 hours. We really enjoy the coop play and fighting togehter. The game has a lot of potential to improve but for us it was worth the money at the current state. The most annoying thing in coop play is that the loot is not shared whoever picks it up gets it which discourages exploration toghether. Still love playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Guys, when we try to play together on one computer, the second player can't use any of the action buttons, they can only walk.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun. Reviewing day 1 of release. Needs a lot of bug fixing and some balancing for sure. Tower defense games for up to 4 players are few and far between, so this is a welcome offering. I would prefer more complexity to the tower defense aspects and more character ability customization. The roguelite elements could be stronger as well. Still, it's a charming indie game that is engaging and entertaining. Performance is solid and didn't have any full crashes. Needs a bit more localization work…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept of this game a lot, with friends it's great and fun. I also think it's not sufficiently done, we've encountered some gamebreaking bugs and I hope those are getting patched...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kicking off today's stream by checking out Kritter: Defend Together. Looks like a fun take on tower defense so if that's your type of game, come check it out and you can play the demo for free! See ya in stream. #Twitch www.twitch.tv/flintgold
neutral · AI labelView post →I can’t believe the Bananza devs bought it back when you kill a Kritter in the game It was such a minute detail that they didn’t need to do but I’m so glad they did
neutral · AI labelView post →They gotta put K Rool in the game man. They put him in Smash and they saw how popular he was. He may have been bottom tier in that game, but still so many people played him. That says so much. Plus there's like, Kritter and Zinger skeletons and Donkey Kong Beaver fossils everywhere.
neutral · AI labelView post →Kritter is a cool looking action roguelike that involves building up and defending your base/camp on an alien planet! It looks like a fun game that you'll be able to play with friends in Couch Co-Op. The demo is out now if you want to check it out! #CouchCoOp #CoOpGaming
neutral · AI labelView post →Fantastic lil coop game with great meta progression so you're always feeling stronger on your next run. It's simple, fun, and you're going to have a great time with it. The voice acting is fantastic, with a few hiccups in it, but overall not bad. Grab this on sale with a few buddies and it'll be a great weekend game to work through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very refreshing, unique and fun game that combines both Tower Defense and Action roguelite. You got the traditional "defend against horde of enemies" waves. Between wave, you gain buff/item/relic that power you up, just like a traditional roguelite (think Hades). And the game has fully functional multiplayer online co-op for up to 4 players, awesome game to play with your friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That is quite a nice game. It should be more popular. It may have some balancing issues and I hope more content will be added.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/9ZKfsjxsUFE Built with a muti-player first mentality the solo experience is much more of slow grind that even the humor writing can't cover for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun concept! online co-op needs more time to work out bugs, and content is a bit lacking in terms of map and enemy diversity, but the actual gameplay is super fun! Getting better loot the further you run into the dungeon areas and having "raids" of enemies attack your base, the meta progression, the time constraints and boss battles. Everything this game has to offer is all well designed and with some more updates has a lot of potential! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really fun mix of rogue lite elements, tower defense, and character building. My family has had a lot of fun with it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy this game. Final boss is busted, but that's the challenge
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun with a friend, it was pretty short but we unlocked everything and beat it in about 5 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great. Not only is it fun but the humor added in has made me laugh quite a few times. It is difficult but that is part of the fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly this game is super fun. It has a goofy sense of humor and an enjoyable gameplay loop. Fully recommend, especially if you have friends to play with!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game it’s a lot of fun and really addicting
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is insane, you know what I'm sayin'. But I'm just stating the obvious.. About a 15 hour playthru, fun progression, great gameplay loop. Everything that should be fun in this game is fun, and it's a great time with friends. Highly recommend this game if you're into action roguelike coops.
