I read the reviews first, I knew the interactions would be largely unimportant. What I didn't believe (although many have noted) was that they'd actively hamper the experience. Unfortunately, it's true. It's abundantly clear that none of the choices in this game are meaningful (except for the final ones), none of the action sequences have stakes, and many dialogue 'options' are clearly just 3 buttons for the same line. I want to honor the effort clearly put in here, but the simple fact is this…

A really nice interactive movie where you frequently choose what to say with simple QTE's and minigames dispersed here and there. As you can probably tell the visuals are only a little more detailed than the Sims, the amount of walking around you do during some dialogue scenes is minimal and linear, and even the pedestrians on the street and bus don't even have faces, though it still serves the story in an engaging way. You take turns between 3 protagonists who live and work in close proximity,…

It was really hard for me to figure out how I felt about this game...at first. After finishing it...I can safely say that 2 of the 3 stories are absolutely awful. One has a character that's suuuper not likable and morally bankrupt, the other makes me realize I'm getting old as I'm aggravated these kids are idiots, and this game tries to tie everything together, but by the end of it leaves you asking "...but why?" (side note, this lengthy review will be spoiler free) The long rant on the writing…

I can't recommend this game because it's not even really a game. It's basically three movies that eventually intertwine. You do have dialogue choices, but none of it impacts anything, and the options often say the same thing anyway. For example "Come on!" / "Tell me!" / "I wanna know!" Why go to all the trouble of having the player make decisions if there's no net change to the story? What's also strange is that sometimes you'll pick an option and the character says something completely…

Whilst Last Stop has it's moments, the game is quite disappointing for something that carries the Annapurna Interactive name. The game is quite inspired by the likes of Heavy Rain & Beyond: Two Souls as well as the former Telltale Games. But its interactively bankrupt as far as I can tell with quick-time events that barely make up for the lack of any real gameplay. And whilst you can make dialogue decisions - hardly any of them impact the narrative in any meaningful way. This is a linear story…

Boy, what a weird game. The Last Stop is a Tell Tale-alike containing about 18 short 'episodes' (10-15 minutes length?) of marginally interactive British urban fantasy with good characterisation, economical but effective visuals, solid sound design and some great acting. The developer, Variable State, is a company formed from ex-Rockstar and DeepMind employees who had a critical hit with Virginia - a more graphically polished implementation of the first person jump-cut technique seen in…

This game is some sort of boring walking simulator from the perspective of gameplay. You walk, and walk, and walk... The story is also boring in the most of it and starts to become interesting only near the end of the game (starting from 6 chapter). The whole game you're speaking and making some irrelevant stuff with minor characters. Characters has flat, poor motivation (so called "stranger" especially). The developers make you ask questions about the world of the game, but don't answer them.…

This game was such a disappointment! I think it starts out with some good storylines but just an incredible amount of it simply goes nowhere. The lack of interaction/meaningful choices would've been a non-issue if there was a strong story to back this up but there simply isn't, so it's both a boring play and a frustrating story.

It is divided into two categories: games that advance the narrative flow through the choices of the player, often referred to as emphasizing freedom, and another type of game that follows a linear development similar to traditional movie narratives, where the player's choices do not significantly influence the progression of the main storyline. Between the two, I believe there exists only a difference in preferences, and there is never an absolute superiority of one over the other. This game…

I really wanted to like this game - I did. The story was interesting and the way all three storylines of the three different characters weaved together was done well. But I cannot stand the fact that this game was a wasted potential of choices matter/choose your adventure. First things first. This isn't a game, well not really. I would describe the experience as more of an interactive movie, the so called "choices" mean exactly nothing and have no impact on the game at all. If anything the gameplay is annoying and often feels like its getting in the way of the story. I would honestly rather sat back and enjoyed the story as a mini series or a film rather than a game. (UPDATE: Almost 6 hours and I finally finished. Everything I wrote in my review still holds true. This was a terrible story with sociopath characters, unrealistic dialogue (even accepting all the supernatural stuff as true), and a stupid Wilhelm Scream in what was supposed to be the start of the epic ending in the final chapter. That final chapter was a slog to get through, too. Characters clip through their clothing, some walking is mandatory and other walking is not. The story doesn't…

Boring. Boring dialogues, boring characters, boring and "fake" choices. The characters are completely unlikeable and their arguments feel very far-fetched. The Store page even misleading, making you believe that you'll be playing three interconnected stories, that's mostly a lie, three stories "collide" only at the end of the game- last 20 minutes out of 5 hours and before that you just play three boring stories that have no connection to each other. Usually I like walking sims with good story but the gameplay in this one is close to zero. Dialog choices don't make any difference, it's completely linear story that can be watched on YouTube. Characters are well developed but the story is lame and the fixed camera is annoying. Last Stop is only 5-6 hours long, I have 8 because I decided to get all achievements after the end. This one tries too hard to be "Life is Strange". Also, body-swap trope is the worse trope ever created. There's not much story or character development going on, the characters are actually pretty unlikable. The dialog choices say one thing, but the characters say something else completely. There's a lot of redundant walking going on. Every time there's a scene change: go for a walk. Every time there's a chat between some characters: chat during your walk. Last Stop by Annapurna. 3 characters, with their respective stories. You will often see characters making cameo appearances in each other's stories, but their stories don't really intertwine with each other till the final moment. 1. 'Paper Dolls' This is what I found the most consistent, solidly written one of all three. The chemistry of two main characters is good, and with John's daughter Molly occasionally chiming in to make witty, clever remarks it is even better. But admittedly, the core…

It was interesting, but overall I found it a little unsatisfying? Also the way it swapped between cutscenes and "your character is walking and talking but you have to do the walking part" was disorienting. I enjoyed the story, but think I wanted more. Kinda just not worth it. Fairly bland. The sort of stuff netflix is stuffed with. Basically same thing, but you need to walk from one side of the screen to the other once in a while. Three parallel stories, seven chapeters. You get conversation choices, but the game doesn't even try to pretend that your selections count for anything. You randmoly get achievements for some though, so play with a guide not to miss them. In final chapter you do get to choose from two conclusions for each story.

There's a lot to enjoy if you're into this "interactive movie" genre. But, it's like they left it open for a sequel and then didn't make that sequel. It ends with many questions left unanswered, many unresolved or hastily-resolved story threads. I enjoyed playing it, yet am left dissatisfied. The bad - i had a game breaking bug an hour in - you have to exit the same menu twice to exit the game - the rig/animation are really janky, theyre destroying the character design for me, especially since so many of the scenes rely on animations to explain what is going on. it's bad enough to be on par with early 2000s point and…

The writing of the story is really bad. I also didn't see any difference between choosing different dialogue options. Maybe some variability appears later in the game, but so far it looked too linear.

I enjoyed this story. Not that hooked up but good enough to keep me interested. It has flaws, but the idea and the ethical questions were put straight. Last Stop involves 3 protagonists, 3 standalone and mostly unrelated stories that only mixes at the end. All has bizarre things happen around them, the most interesting one goes to John and Jack, who swapped bodies under a curse. It is a big topic, if you can be 20 years younger and healthy again and with your caring family, do you swap back…

Not a very complicated game, so if you want some challange, the review is not for you - the game more about the story. And speaking of it I only give it thumbs up because of being indie - I can understand constraints of remaking something or being unable to hire more people/consultants for writing - should've it been the big(er) publisher I'd be less lenient. The story is nice, though no "a-ha!" moments. The voice acting is the strongest feature of the game - praise to actors. Don't get me…

Just finished the game Last Stop I bloody loved it! If you like any Telltale or Life is Strange type games, you will enjoy this. Trust me on this! I just wish it was a bit longer....took just over 7hrs for me to complete, maybe less as 45mins I left it idle whilst watching Desperate Housewives xD

Pros: -Great storytelling wow -Easter eggs Cons: -Choice don't matter except the only choice made is for character's ending scene -A lot of walking. -Developer trying to copy Life is strange's vibe by doing a lot of walking until it become redundant -Graphic is worse than telltale

A brilliant narrative experience. This is the type of "game" and / or fictional work that certain people will absolutely love, whereas others will find it hard to enjoy. It's a cross between an animated tv-show and a video game. The interaction is limited, and serves more as a mechanic to move the story along rather than being the focus itself. If you're the kind of person who find long fight or puzzle-segments to be in the way of storytelling in other games might like this one, because the…

This is a fantastic game which almost feels like a movie; Something akin to Life Is Strange. The graphics/art style is great, the voice acting is amazing, the music helps set the mood, and the writing is superb. John's story had me cracking up multiple times. I love the three stories design, how they sort of intermingle, and how you can see characters from one story in the background of another character's story. The story is linear so your conversation options don't really have much of an…

This game has no gameplay, bad drawing and has a strong odour of interracial marriage propaganda.
