Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 178 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (918 of 941 positive).
The updated version improves camera controls and works well on Steam Deck. [1][2][3] Some reviewers find the controls and combat clunky and dated. [4][5][6]

awful controls. awful camera controls. awful puzzles, its just all so obnoxious. watch the longplay of this game instead, because otherwise you just gonna suffer

This is the first video game I ever played in my life, I can't say in words how much I love this game and how many times I played it.... Everytime I want to jump back in to my chiildhood I play it and it"s always a great time! I'll never get tired of this game, it is timeless!

A blast from the past. This game occupied hundreds of hours of my childhood and now I've rediscovered it on Steam. Make no mistake, the controls and visuals have not aged well and newcomers will likely not enjoy it. For others such as myself it has been wonderfully nostalgic.

It's VERY awkward like any 3D game from this time period, but it's also very charming. For the most part, it's also easy to figure out. With a couple of exceptions: - The Gallic Acid you NEED to advance the plot is in the Ker'aooc's House ~ in the Black Jar on the Shelf - Your Magic Ball when levelled up can grab keys for you from a distance The combat is pretty terrible thanks to the unhelpful perspective, the …

The nostalgia juice is strong in this one.... Jokes aside though, while it has outdated graphics, slightly clumsy controls and a fairly predictable story...it's a wonderful game and I enjoyed exploring it all again, listening to the awesome music and trying my best to explore every nook and cranny. Old game, highly recommend.

Critics, per Wikipedia
Little Big Adventure 2 sold above 300,000 units by August 1999. According to GameSpot, poor sales of the preceding LBA game meant that Twinsen remained an obscure character in USA and resulted in the commercial failure of LBA2 in that market, in contrast to France where Twinsen was famous as a result of LBA's success. Some of the English voice acting was also criticized as corny compared to the original French dialogue. Robert Coffey of Computer Gaming World said that the game has unparalleled sense of marvel and imagination, engaging story, and deft mix of action and adventure. GameSpot's Ron Dulin gave the game 8.1 out of 10, saying that the fans of adventure games will not miss this…

60 of 250 · most liked firstI realized I never tried the new version of "Little Big Adventure 2" that got released a few years ago where one of the new features was a camera that actually follows Twinsen in outdoor areas (by more or less auto-hitting the "redraw camera" key on every frame). It works pretty well.

The studio is planning to selfpublish the game and asks for support (Ko-Fi, Investor, monthly support) to make it happen. www.littlebigadventure.com/en/lba2-rema...

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LBA2 has been the carrot at the end of a stick, hanging out in front of my life's metaphorical eyes, since the time I first played and fell in love with Little Big Adventure (LBA) as a kid. I bet most people who play either game in this series has a story that is similar to mine; my mom took my brother and me to a weird, out-of-the-way computer shop in the nineties. This was when computer stores still felt like hobbyist places that bought and sold trading cards, where the carpet was old and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The update changes the way the game plays in a positive way, you don't have to spam re-centre camera for it to track with you. Shocked how well it works, and doesn't ruin the experience at all. I played it from start to finish on the steam Deck with zero issues.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, a long time ago I got Little Big Adventure 2 a.k.a. Twinsen's Odyssey. This game has a "behaviour" feature that lets you switch between 4 modes : normal, stealthy, athletic and agressive. This has an impact on how the main character Twinsen moves and acts : normal walks and interacts, stealthy sneaks around, athletic runs and jumps, aggressive lets you punch stuff. Note that all of those except athletic are *unbearably slow*, and the game requires quite a bit of jumping, so I quickly…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I lost count of how many times I have finished this game back in the day. It came bundled up in a brazilian gaming magazine called "CD Expert" back in 1997. I was obssessed, and even my brother was annoyed at how many times I asked him to reinstall the game for me every now and then (he'd uninstall it to make space lol). Recently replayed this (as well as the first game) for the nostalgia and realized that I was much better at it as a kid.

neutral · AI labelView post →I still have the original CD-ROM Box from 1997 (Back then games were sold in boxes with manuals and other goodies besides the CDs). Unfortunately I can only play it on DosBox and Windows 95. I have 3 games that are my childhood classics and to this day I still remember them by heart: 1. Little Big Adventure 2. Little Big Adventure 2 3. Dark Earth (Funny how all 3 are made by French Studios ^_^.) So when I found LBA1/2 on Steam?!?! I instantly purchased them and couldn't stop playing them!…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 28 years, I finally finished Little Big Adventure 2 😁
positive · AI labelView post →Shortly: just play it, you will not regret it, even in 2024. Its one of the best games ever. I played this game first time when I was probably like 5-6, something like that, so around 2000ish. I was, and still am, living in Estonia and at that time, in close post-soviet era, there really wasnt many games around that time... even not many computers or consoles as a matter of fact. Luckily, my dad had some buddies from USA (or some other foreign country, cant really remember) and through those…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Want to discover the secret to eternal life? (Hint: it involves a cow, poor judgment, and zero dignity.) How about gambling away your savings in an alien casino, making out with a frog, or consistently bringing a ball to a gunfight? You’ll even find yourself stepping on flowers that moan softly with every footfall. In this chaotic adventure, you’ll do all that, and, naturally, save the planet. Again. This game is an unapologetic trip through nostalgia. That said, the controls can be clunky at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WORKS AMAZING ON STEAM DECK!!! Obviosly, its a 1994 game. The game controls were clunky back then, they are clunky and weird now. But it is an amazing game, with an amazing story. An adventure like no other, full of magical characters! Just beautiful.

neutral · AI labelView post →I remember playing this, as a kid, when it was first release way back in 1994 (LBA) and 1997 (LBA2). LBA and LBA2 will always be in my top 10 favourite games of all time, and nothing will ever change that (queue Dr. Funfrock's laugh)! Modern games (except for a very small few) don't even come close to the level of charm the LBA games ooze from the moment you play them.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably my favourite game from childhood. So many hours spent playing this game back in the day on my first PC with printed off guides from online. Runs good, plays good and is great to have amongst my other Steam games so I can play whenever I want. Really looking forward to the upcoming remasters with the new art direction.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is quite an improvement over the original release. You no longer have to press enter to update the camera view, it just follows your character. The framerate is also higher. I can't believe after so many years, this game still receives updates. However the controls are quite janky & frustrating. But fortunately it's a good game. To help fund LBA3, I bought all 3.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A childhood favourite of mine, not the graphics im used to but honestly even now not the worst, controls are a little clunky but thats to be expected. Im in my element reliving missions that once upon a time seemed impossible, At 37 im sat with a big smile as i run around as twinson once again. Definately worth the couple of monies for it in my opinion..... Can you help me heal my dino fly?

It sticks with me
