Kingdom Come might be the most realistic medieval RPG ever made. The world-building is incredibly detailed, the atmosphere feels truly historical, and the immersion is on a level most RPGs never reach. The story is solid. Not groundbreaking, but grounded and engaging enough to keep you playing. The combat system, though, is honestly terrible. It is clunky, unintuitive, and frustrating to the point of pure anger. …

I purchased this game along with its sequel hoping to play through it rather quickly to get to the second game, almost 200 hours later and I'm still on this one. Kingdom Come: Deliverance received "mixed or average" reviews from critics for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, while the PC version received "generally favorable" reviews, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. GameRevolution described the game as "if you stripped Skyrim of the fantastical creatures and magic", and concluded that "it made for good enough of an experience to warrant enduring the game's bugs and shortfalls." Halfway through my game they decided to implement a sketchy EULA, and require the creation of a 3rd party account to play their single player game. From what I played until that point, I would say the game is pretty good. The early game can be difficult, especially as you learn the combat mechanics, but after 10-15 hrs in it becomes a lot easier. It's unfortunate as I would like to play more, but after reading through the EULA, I decided to uninstall.

I gave up on this game originally when I first bought it because the "tutorial" frustrated me beyond reason, and I had just come off playing other medieval games like Mount and Blade, and Mordhau, I thought maybe I was just stuck in a mode that didn't favor KCD1's style of gameplay, so I put it off. Many people say this game is a masterpiece, but I wouldn't go that far. What I can definitely say is that this is one of the best RPGs that revolves around realism. It's an amazing RPG, but I don't think it's for everyone. It's quite different from the RPGs I've played before. Story If you're expecting a badass story with crazy action, this ain't for you. For reviewing this insanely intricate and complex game we have to look at it through the eyes of 3 different types of players that might play it: 1. The Casual Gamer The grounded story is cool, but trying to enjoy the beautiful open world gets constantly bogged down by annoying survival chores, a frustrating potion-based save system during quests, and clunky, punishing combat where you just run away for the first five hours. 2. NOT HAPPY I have put over 100hrs into this game and right at the end, i have a game ending glitch, because i completed a DLC from 2019 before the main story, i should not have to make a brand new playthrough and go through the same 60+ hours of gameplay because a developer can't be bothered to fix a KNOWN bug. Update: Okay i didn`t give up, i kinda got a bit better with the battle system. But the more you play, the more you notice this system was never made to fight more than 1 NPC at the same time. Later on you are part of a big battle, fighting dozens of people, you can swing your sword but it doesn`t work, the game keeps pushing you away and want to force you in "lock on mode" in the usual duel stance. It´s actually laughable. Anyway, i also had quest bugs all over, had to download mods to solve…

Yes, I've played the game over 200 hours, and yes, this is a negative review. I will be more than happy to state the numerous reasons why. While most of the game can be an enjoyable experience, the developers decided to ruin the game by making the stupid decision to write in game breaking scripting that does the following (these are actual game play events that I witnessed): 1. One of the best open-world RPGs I've ever played. I understand some people might disagree, but here is my short review on why this game is worth your time (contains spoilers for the prologue): Widely considered one of the most accurate and realistic medieval settings ever created in gaming. Now, don't get me wrong, it is still a work of fiction, but the portrayal of real geographical locations and politics is well-placed. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an adventure game focused on immersing you in the late medieval European countryside. I don’t regret the time I spent with it. For me, the main obstacle to enjoying it was the myriad of labels this game carries. You might hear that it’s an RPG, open-world, survival, historical, or hardcore game. All of that is kind of true, but if you come in expecting any of those elements to shine, you’ll be disappointed. Character progression and choice/consequence in this game…

Probably one of the best immersive RPG's that you can play. There is so much that you can do wrong that it is actually funny. There are a lot of things that are intertwined with another (e. g. when having a collection quest to turn it in quickly before the thing you collect can turn bad or cold (without having a timer)) That said, as it is trying to be as realistic as possible, the gameplay is suffering immensely. I didn't enjoy it at all. It is not fun to play for me. It just feels…
