TLDR: A disappointing finale. This game feels much more like a ‘choose your own adventure’ type interactive fiction than a game type one. General Thoughts/Overview: Lorelai is the closing whimper of the devil came through here series. Having played Downfall, I eagerly put Lorelai and The Cat Lady on my list of games to play. It was a brooding and deeply thoughtful piece. This… well, this just isn’t. We are Lorelai, …

Oh damn, what a ride that was I loved everything about that game The story, oh how my heart felt heavy through the whole gameplay and how my face was wet with tears at the end The artstyle is incredible and changes so often, it was such a wonderful sight and made me sit in front of it with awe The music is awesome too, really good picks All in all, well, I wish I could experience it again without knowing anything …

Lorelai, developed by Harvester Games and published by Screen 7, stands as the haunting conclusion to a trilogy that began with The Cat Lady and continued with Downfall. Like its predecessors, it blends psychological horror with deeply human storytelling, using surrealism and emotional intensity to explore themes of trauma, despair, and resilience. This final chapter shifts its focus to a new protagonist, Lorelai, a …

I have to agree with other players that reviewed this before, this title is quite darker than the rest of Harvester Games collection, The Cat Lady and Downfall were both heavy and dark games but there was some aspect of redemption and conciliation before the end, Lorelai can feel quite unredeeming. Also found the whole nursing home work a bit unnecessary and overly grim. That's all I can criticise it for, it's still …

Cloaked in blood, horror, and grotesque surreal imagery, this game is, at its heart, a painful and desperate story about growing up and refusing to give in.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very unrealistic that Lorelai Gilmore doesn’t know what’s happening at the Havard Yale game, considering her parents say they go there every year. As if they didn’t drag her along as a kid. Doesn’t make sense at all

positive · AI labelView post →23. Game with the best graphics or art style I prize art style over fidelity. The games with the art style that most fully conveys the mood the developer wants to communicate are made by Harvester Games (The Cat Lady, Downfall, Lorelai, Burnhouse Lane). Grungy depression and desperation.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was such a letdown for me. I initially bought it as a bundle after playing The Cat Lady a bit. I don't regret supporting the developers/writers because Downfall and The Cat Lady are beloved games of mine. Downfall I even went back to try to achieve the different endings - but I'm not sure I have the motivation to do the same here. All the games are dark, sure, mental health motif and all... but it feels like there's just not really any humor or hope. - Nothing surprised me.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, how is it possible that this game makes my PC run hotter than Elden Ring ever did? It makes no sense for a game like this to push my system that hard, please fix this. Secondly, while the presentation seems decent at first, that’s only on the surface. The game itself is hollow. The story is simple, but the presentation makes it so confusing. The scenes change so abruptly that I kept losing track of what was happening. In the end, we find out that the devil got involved in this…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →make sure you have lots of chocolate, painkillers and antidepressants with you while playing this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this one completely blind because I loved Rem Michalski's previous two games but, unless you're a diehard fan of The Devil Came Through Here series, it's hard to recommend this one. Extremely long load times, simplistic puzzles and videoclip-like sequences which distract from the experience make for a less than satisfying experience. On the other hand, there's a very high level of polish in the audiovisual aspect, especially considering it's basically a one-man show.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has zero reasons to be so heavy on the hardware. Graphics, even when set to "potato", make my laptop burn in five minutes. So unless it's purposely mining crypto, the game design is a failure. For reference - Downfall Redux (2016) and The Cat Lady (2012) had no such issues. On a personal note, I feel as though the change in graphics also stripped the game of the vibes of the previous two games. I will try to finish the game in the future on a better computer, but until then, it is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It`s sad, dark and depressing... But in a great way! You can really feel what the main character is experiencing, the story is well written and the voice acting is amazing. The 3 games of the DEVIL CAME THROUGH series are masterpieces!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last game I played was Lorelai. Why did nobody tell me how frickin awesome that game is? I thought it was a generic jumpscare 3d horror indy. But it's actually really cool horror adventure. And the previous title in the series The Cat Lady is even more badass. Got Lorelai some time ago for free on GOG and never played it because of above reservations. But somehow it always stayed in my head so I decided to actually try it and was blown away.
positive · AI labelView post →No game has had me scribbling notes like this in a LONG TIME. Lorelai and the Laser Eyes from Sunoco is amazing 💕💕💕
positive · AI labelView post →This is the third game in the "Devil Came Through Here" trilogy. Each game has a standalone story with some elements that carry over, so you could play them in any order, or even pick and choose. But I think they're best experienced in chronological order: The Cat Lady, Downfall, then Lorelai. Rather than following the same protagonist like most series would, in these three games it's the villain who stays the same. The Queen of Maggots offers the three protagonists the same deal: she'll give…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The beginning was kinda boring, but then the heroine dies right at the end of Chapter 1 like ridiculously clean and crisp, almost with a ding”—~-~” and my brain just lit up, suddenly it felt insanely fun lol Playing through the whole game it was really the heroine carrying her family’s severed heads, the pig-headed dad snapping to life, maggots growing on door, corpse forcing a kiss all those touching moments and the visual style that carried me through a lot of the game’s dragging, boring…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, this was fun enough for me to finish. But it's no "The Cat Lady." That was one of my favorite games. This one by contrast didn't hook me. The plot felt a bit more boring and contrived - in particular the parts with Jimmy. And the puzzles and spooks felt more toned down. I also don't want to play it again for achievements because there's no ability to skip dialogue.

neutral · AI labelView post →So far Lorelei became my favourite game from the trilogy. Maybe it is about more colorful visual style or story that hits home or characters you empathize and simpathize. But does the reason really matter? First of all, voice cast is absolutlety amazing, all actors did great job. "Blood filled tears" by Maisy Kay perfectly fits the mood and actually gives me some vibes of Elfen Lied even tho there is nothing similar in the storyline. I also admired little easter eggs, references and memes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This INCREDIBLE song by Maisy Kay was played at the starting screen of #Lorelai. We let time stop for a moment to listen to it before actually playing the game yesterday. youtu.be/M5Aea2UZtJY
neutral · AI labelView post →Compared to 'The cat lady' this one feels empty and unfinished. Even the puzzles are lackluster.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not too broken up about it tho, this game has been wildly fun to pick through thus far. Kind of the anti-Lorelai and the Laser Eyes, in that it's not as punishing and there is still a game to be played even if your progress on specific puzzles is impeded. Also the vibe is less oppressive imo
neutral · AI labelView post →honestly obsessed with this game. the nostalgic aesthetic? that deep, moody color palette? all making it even better its dark and psychological but in a beautiful way.

neutral · AI labelView post →There's been some narrative but it's disconncted chunks separate from what I'm doing on a mechanical level. I'm enjoying it mostly but as a puzzle game it's lacking compared to say Lorelai and the Laser Eyes, and I'm not seeing anything close to the depth (mechanical\narrative) of an Outer Wilds.
neutral · AI labelView post →Can't really tell which one was better - The Cat Lady or Lorelai, but honestly, still one of the best games I've ever played. A bit rushed ending, but meeting and getting to know The Queen of Maggots was such a great experience.

neutral · AI labelView post →They're unfortunately all horror. That kind of adventure game lead to survival horror with alone in the dark and it kinda ate the entire genre as a result. Lorelai and memento mori 2 come to mind. There's isometric games like beautiful desolation But most classic style adventure is point and click
neutral · AI labelView post →The Cat Lady and Downfall are both amazing, but Lorelai unfortunately does not have the same level of quality. First, the positives are that the art, graphics and music are much better than the previous two games. But, the gameplay and puzzles are boring and there is way too much dialogue. The story is not interesting at all either. There are also frequent crashes, something that never happened to me with the prior two games. Overall, disappointing.
