Lost At Sea is an extremely unoptimized, blurry and confusing mess. It is supposed to feature a personal story of loss, teamed with puzzles that slowly unveil the extent of the narrative. Yet, what we are a left with, is an utter disaster in every way possible. Pros Pretty & artistic illustrations when collecting mementos. Easy Steam achievements. Cons Abysmally poor performance Over-saturated, bright, blocky & …

Let's start with the good: The island you'll spend roughly three hours exploring looks very pretty, with a bloom-heavy lighting model giving a surreal dreamlike atmosphere. The narrative is also very heartfelt, and feels personal to the game's developers. My experience was also very bug-free. The Bad: The puzzles can be super obtuse to the point where I'm not even sure how I solved one or two of them, I just kinda …

Puzzle game/Walking Simulator with very good graphics and optimized well. I would have chosen a different and more engaging soundtrack. Simple but not intuitive puzzles at first glance. Good duration +3/6h. Base price perhaps slightly high, but I recommend it on sale. My rating 7/10

Lost At Sea is a good exploration game on a tropical and mysterious island with mini-games and above all a very beautiful narration about the moving story of Anna through the different steps of her life. The graphics are nice and the ambiant is cozy. I recommend it!!! 💗💗💗

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lost at Sea is a haunting walk down memory lane as you explore a serene island, but there are shadows, both literal and metaphorical, lying beneath the surface here as well. As your character Anna deals with the pain of loss, and questions her life decisions, my only question is, does this walking simulator have enough to keep you interested? Watch my 6 minute review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_5OjJ1LYkk I am on the fence with this one. On one hand, it is a deeply thoughtful…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm normally a sucker for indie walking simulators and able to overlook their flaws, but I couldn't get past the tonal dissonance in this one. You're supposed to be feeling melancholy and reflective, but what you feel instead is frustration and mounting rage. It is so annoying to be faced with obtuse puzzles you need to fumble your way through to progress – when you can even reach them. Because after walking halfway across the island to reach the puzzle, suddenly the #%!$ing Ineffable Sadness…

Wait a second, who left all this unknown seaman all over the deck? Kraken ... clean up your mess! Listen wherever you podcast or: www.glitterjaw.com/fear-coded
neutral · AI labelView post →Slow, tedious, and obtuse puzzler/walking sim with some very mediocre graphics and half baked game mechanics. Refunded just as quickly as bought it when it popped up in the store. Really wants to be Call of the Sea but there's just no comparison, this isn't even the amateur version, sadly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. - The puzzles are much lighter than in other stranded-on-an-island puzzle games like Myst or The Witness. They're not hard and they are entirely in the service of telling the story. I found solving them to be surprisingly poignant. - The compass led me through the game and it's brilliant because it ensured I never wondered what to do or wandered around. It prevented me from wasting any time. It's a really big and mostly empty island, perhaps even a little sparse in…

positive · AI labelView post →I was extremely bored as I slowly wandered across the empty island. I found some musical chairs mini game, but it dragged on for way too long and was so boring to finish that by the end of it I knew there was no way I could play any longer. Not to mention I had already struggled to even start playing the game as my mouse refused to work on the main menu and I had to use arrow keys to navigate it. Even then it was a struggle to get the game to actually start... If you liked this review, check…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the idea of this game and the story line but the lack of tutorial explanation and minigames/quests that don't make any sense made this game a really difficult and frustrating experience, forcing you to look up tutorial playthroughs. The overly bright and saturated colors make this game hard to look at and terrain navigation is inconsistent and sometimes outright difficult. The concepts behind the game are really interesting but the execution is lacking :( I get that the lack of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I "beat" it in 18 minutes. I think I missed a lot of content. The game is super weird and the visuals are sometimes hard to look at. I like the voice acting and the sound design around the fears. I honestly am not sure if I can recommend it based on my honestly super odd experience. However, I can't NOT recommend it. If you are looking for a walking simulator with some odd design and sound, this is definitely for you. https://youtu.be/c38lS2GHkfk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Mixed Experience of Emotion and Gameplay Lost at Sea tackles heavy themes such as loss, death, aging, and dementia, offering an emotionally charged narrative. Unfortunately, the game only partially succeeds in delivering a fulfilling experience, leaving me with mixed feelings. The Positives: Touching narrative: The idea of collecting mementos from different stages of life works well to convey themes of memory, loss, and personal growth. The protagonist's emotional journey can resonate with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh. I usually love weird and buggy games, but this one just aint it. 7/10 for effort - 3/10 for implementation
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Full review: https://www.lifeisxbox.eu/review-lost-at-sea/ Score: 70% + Simple gameplay Puzzles and mini-games Story Art style Sound - A lot of running around and respawning You're on your own Lost At Sea is a beautiful game with some fun puzzles. It does get a little repetitive, but if you like a short game with a good story tackling some emotional subjects, I suggest you give it a try.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although I hoped to finish another album before year's end, I only got three tracks done... still, no reason not to put out "Lost at Sea" first single off the upcoming album "The Wreck of Hope"... song inspired by too many hours playing the video game Dredge. beerfinger.bandcamp.com/track/lost-a...
neutral · AI labelView post →I designed "Lost at Sea" to be a bridge from boardgames to TTRPG. The game might look and play like a boardgame, but each turn, a question à la "For the Queen" invites the players to step into the shoes of their character, to develop their personality or backgrounds, to create bonds with others…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's expensive for what it is. What it is.. is a very odd adventure on an island about what seems to be a mother grieving the loss of her child. There are some puzzles here, but mostly it just feels like an awkward search for objects and puzzles that will reveal memories from the mother about her child. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j05j3ex8EA I like it well enough, and it's certainly a game made from the heart. I appreciate that and also that this isn't just an asset flip or bunch of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not enjoy the game, I am very sorry. The idea of the game is great, the graphics look like a kids game which its def. not. it is way too colourful for such a story as far as I can tell. the character could be "better" its a bit confusing, navagation is not good in this game, some things do also not make sense. there should be a better tutorial and not such a kids atmosphere, bit darker, less colourfull would be great. Also the Monologues could be lots better/more, with more heart in it,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For what it was, I enjoyed it. It's a little unpolished, but it was obviously made with a lot of heart, and with a game like this, the primary goal is to get the FEEL of it right - the vibes, the music, the tone - and the feel of it was very good. My only real complaint is that in many places I felt I needed more guidance; there is one puzzle I'm still not sure how I solved. That and it taking almost the entire game to figure out how to escape the fear thing when it cropped up except hope I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a little more complex than your average walking sim type game, but it still has some problems that mess up the experience, mostly with the narrative. The story is kind of like games such as "What Remains of Edith Finch" and "Gone Home" in that you're supposed to piece together the story from what is being presented. The concept is artistic and the presentation is great, as you are basically wandering an island and collecting objects that represent memories. Each time you find an object, a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was super excited for Lost At Sea because the concept genuinely seemed interesting and emotional, but the execution completely ruined the experience for me. I usually enjoy walking simulators because they’re meant to feel relaxing and immersive, but this game somehow made the experience stressful in the worst way possible. The shadowy creature mechanic was awful and completely killed the atmosphere for me. Instead of exploring and enjoying the story, I felt constantly irritated and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no pressure to the folks at rockstar but if PS5s are gonna get price hikes every 3 months and xbox is currently Lost At Sea it's gonna be a rough time to get anyone to play your billion dollar game
neutral · AI labelView post →Lost At Sea is a good exploration game set on a tropical and mysterious island, featuring mini-games and, above all, a very beautiful narrative about the moving story of Anna as she goes through different stages of her life. I had one problem with this game: it can sometimes be buggy. My rating is 7/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I knew immediately that I was talking about a coming-of-age road trip, and in particular, I knew that I wanted to write a game tagging off of Lost At Sea, Bryan Lee O'Malley's pre-Scott Pilgrim graphic novel (and a favorite of mine). Two days later, I had the frame of a game built.
neutral · AI labelView post →Lost at Sea, developed by Studio Fizbin and published by Headup, is a deeply personal and introspective narrative adventure that explores life, memory, and mortality through an allegorical journey across a mysterious island. It’s a first-person experience that abandons conventional gameplay complexity in favor of emotional storytelling and symbolic exploration. You play as Anna, an elderly woman reflecting on the defining moments of her life—her childhood, love, family, and eventual solitude.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I highly recommend this game because it will drive you crazy with its plot and ending. I love game music, so this game also attracted me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After tweaking the game to 3440 x 1440, increasing its FPS to 120 (or so it seemed) its not that bad of a game on a RTX 4090. Had to look up one puzzle the rest were easy. The game world is decent but there are annoying invisible walls at times. The story I didnt follow. I would recommend the game for the 1.19 or if you get it in a bundle its even cheaper. Also want to add the game appeared to be bug free.

positive · AI labelView post →This is an extremely sad excuse for a game. I finally have a clue about what to do but no matter where I try to go the game kills me. What a treasure.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Visuals were pretty to look at, but the tan bloom was too much for my eyes after an hour. Especially the puzzles were you follow a blinding ball of light. Had to look up a walk-through 30 minutes in because there is no tutorial or what to do or where to go. After the many set backs from the fear, I gave up and had no interest in continuing to play.
