BottomLine at the Top: Hi yes remember me? The guy that plays P&C games? Yes I still play them. Yes this is a good one to play ;) Intro: There needs to be more P&C's in general, but especially ones with British humor. This game cracked me up. Pros: -Starts Right up, zero bugs or issues during game play -Classic LucasArts style -Funny as F*$&, excellent Brit humor -This is random, but I love P&C's with rainy scenes …

Lucy Dreaming is one of the most unusual and imaginative point and click adventures I’ve played in a long time. It blends real darkness with light, witty humor in a way that feels both surprising and strangely comforting. Lucy’s distant parents, her brother’s unsettling experiments on stuffed and living animals, and her recurring nightmares all create a world that could have been heavy, yet Lucy herself approaches …

This game was so much fun! I thought the demo was good, but the whole game is even better, full of witty humor and clever puzzles, with lots of easter eggs and gaming references. We play as young Lucy who wants to get rid of a recurring nightmare while trying to solve a ten year old murder. The investigative work we have to do through the game is particularly well-designed as we switch back and forth between real …

Lucy Dreaming is a charming point-and-click comedy adventure set in Britain. Players take on the role of Lucy and explore both dreams and reality in order to get to the bottom of a notorious local crime and rid the young girl of her nightmares! It is a fantastic example of a point-and-click game. Its humourous writing, charming setting and wonderful characters come together to depict an engaging and intriguing story …

It's exactly what you expect it to be: a classic point-and-click adventure with the pertinent humour and fun, solvable but not too easy puzzles, and over-the-top story that we know and love about this genre. Sprinkled with some references that those in the know will enjoy and even some (well, two) cameos, it was a fun experience. Would buy again. The only real criticism I have concerns the interface. The four verbs …

60 of 259 · most liked firstI really wanted to like this game, specially since it's a labour of love of mainly one person. That being said, the scales tipped so heavily on the negative side for my taste that I cannot recommend it. I don't like animal cruelty, be it in games, film, any medium. It's a personal distaste and if you don't share it, fine. Here it's played for laughs, which is something that adds insult to injury on my book. Giving a gerbil to be tortured so you can retrieve a stuffed animal was a red flag…

positive · AI labelView post →I've been playing Lucy Dreaming recently from @tallstorygames.bsky.social. What a fabulous game - genuinely laugh out loud funny, good puzzles (mostly not too obscure) and incredible attention to detail. So glad I backed the Kickstarter for Heir of the Dog now.
positive · AI labelView post →What a great game!! It is rarely that you can see a point-and-click adventure game today that is perfect and impeccable in almost any aspect. The story is original and captivating; the graphics is both quasi-pixelated and nice looking, in full HD; the puzzles are quite hard and surprisingly original (like the brilliant interrelation between the dreams and the reality); the humour is soft and decent; the voiceovers are simply great. The only thing I did not like was the ending - I mean not…

positive · AI labelView post →The game crashed during the playthrogh but its a good thing it did. Too many references to animal cruelty. Yes, it's a video game, no need to call PETA however it sets a bad example. If in todays society we can no longer use certain terms in games (i.e calling someone with down syndrome a funny looking re - tard) and since were forced to be careful with how we address people and their gender identity, then I think people should be more sensitive and set good examples when it comes to animals.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's a frequent discussion among movie lovers: can an ending kill a good movie? There are several examples where this occurs (almost everyone will likely be able to remember at least one). Tons of people analyze this phenomenon on YouTube. Can this also happen in games? This question is trickier, since games are a different medium, and are usually longer than movies. Where is the threshold? If a 20-hour game ends badly, but the rest of the game was amazing, can you end up disliking it? How…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game, the best point and click I have ever played. It is fun, challenging but perfectly balanced. The voice acting is excellent, the music is soothing. I highly recommend this game. I can't wait for Tall Story Games to bring out another.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite having backed the Kickstarter, I'd deliberately kept spoiler-free other than watching the KS video itself and some of Tom's streams. Didn't even play the demo in advance. When I actually got to play the game properly, I found it to be just as brilliant as I'd hoped. It's such a treat! All those references, the silly descriptions of hotspots (I'm a compulsive looker-atter), the wacky characters (wow, that Lloyd is something else - and he's far from the only one), brilliant voice acting.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is honestly one of the best games I've played all year, and that's saying something when Return to Monkey Island came out this year too! It's smart, funny, witty, clever and tells a great story. The puzzles hit just the right level of difficulty, the premise is fun and original and manages to stay out of the Act style trope of many other adventure games. The game feels natural, and organic. Everything flows, and it just.. works! The humour is also spot on. I adored the fake brand…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played a demo of this, Loved Lucy Dreaming (the previous game) and backed it on Kickstarter. Downloading this as we speak. Looking forward to it :)
positive · AI labelView post →This is out tomorrow, for those who both point and click. I've not played the demo, I know next to nothing about it, but their last game - Lucy Dreaming - was *amazeballs* so I'm very confident in recommending🙂 #AdventureGames
neutral · AI labelView post →A clever game, unique because of the "dreaming" mechanic that requires you to solve puzzles between the real world and the "dream" world. I feel like the game doesn't really make it clear that you can leave the dream world and return whenever you like, so it's easy to get stuck early on until you realize this. Graphics are the expected retro pixelated type that you'd expect from a point-and-click game like this, and they're well done. Character design is a little confusing to me; the design…

neutral · AI labelView post →Wow, I don’t even know where to start. I haven’t even finished Lucy Dreaming yet, but I just had to write this review. It’s a point-and-click adventure that feels like a love letter to the classics of the genre. The pixel art brings back all those childhood memories, and the soundtrack perfectly matches the mood of each scene. The dialogue is sharp, full of clever jokes and British humor. Even as a Spanish speaker, I’ve found myself laughing out loud (and sometimes having to look up a joke!).…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lucy Dreaming is a retro point & click adventure game with a unique story, great puzzles, and lots of dark humor. Story You're Lucy, and you aren't just dreaming, as the title suggests, you are having nightmares, every night, for years. And you have finally decided to get to the bottom of it. What's causing them, and can you put a stop to it? Gameplay Lucy Dreaming has four different actions that you can perform, look at, pick up, talk to, and use. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🔹 EXPECTATIONS: a happy, colourful and oneiric adventure. 🔹 REALITY: a gloomy adventure between reality and nightmarish scenarios. 🔶 Lucy dreaming (LD) got me very confused. The key/cover art seemed to imply a happy, colourful adventure with dream worlds to visit and Dali-painting logic. I was expecting something like Toonstruck in tone and setting, but pixel art. What I found was the complete opposite: the scenarios are gloomy, abandoned and depressing, and so are their sad inhabitants.…
