Players find the core gameplay loop of chopping trees and upgrading satisfying and addictive. [1][2][3] Many reviewers criticize the lack of a map or mini-map, making navigation frustrating. [4][5][6][7] Some players feel the late game becomes tedious and grindy, especially when hunting for the last few trees. [8][9][10]

A concept with potential that overstays its welcome. The early game is a competently executed if slow incremental themed around chopping down trees. The loop should be familiar: chop down trees to get money to improve your ability to chop down more and bigger trees. Lumberjacked is a very well-made game that can easily pull you in for hours without you even noticing. It's about as simple as A Game About Digging a Hole, but with chopping trees. There's the usual loop but... I AM SO ADDICTED TO THIS GAME! There’s some satisfaction to be had here but overall I cant recommend it. The upgrades have really poor pacing. At 4 hours in I had all the upgrades possible with only like 4700/10,000 trees cut. So 0 change in gameplay for the remainder of the game. Problem. The drone is too slow to have any significant impact and by that time you’re maxed out anyway so it’s even more redundant. The fog is nice for the aesthetic but becomes annoying when you can’t see ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because all the trees are…

Lumberjacked is a decent game at its core, but there are a few things that stop me from recommending it. The main issue is navigating the world with no map, and borderline useless compass. Trying to remember where you've been and how to get back to an area you want to revisit is painful unless you are someone with great mental mapping abilities. There are few landmarks and everything looks the same except for the different types of trees. And collecting everything (or chopping all the trees)…

It hurts me to not recoomend this game, it started out just fine until like a couple of hours in and then the map is insaley huge, it has no maps that you can use to see where you are, the drone is WAYYYYY too slow even with some uprgades and as some other folks mentioned, you just keep running and running with no automation and nothing to hasten the progress. This is one game I literally gave up in the middle of and I don't give up that easy because of all the running back and forth and no…

Its alright for the price but near the end when everything is unlocked is 2-3 hours of mindless running and sprinting hunting for small batches of trees. The sprinting should be better. Or more upgrades or just something a little extra so its no so horrible near the end. I had roughly 800k coins at the end and everything fully upgraded. Solid 6/10 good for wasting time though.

There's some shallow entertainment to be had here. Lumberjacked isn't a "bad" game per se, but there are enough problems for me to not recommend this to most people. On the bright side, the game is only $4.99 (I think I grabbed this for cheaper as a part of a Fanatical bundle or the like though) and for that price there are a couple hours of fun. The short and sweet, if you're autistic and need something to do for a few minutes here and there, have at it! My biggest qualm is the performance…

It went from moderately addicting to very frustrating after a few hours. I maxed out my stats/gear and only found one portal and not even all of the fairies or drone parts and none of the mapped items at the end of the paths. Once you get out deep into the paths it gets so confusing, especially at night (which happens too quickly). So I ended up just giving up instead of attempting to finish the game, if there is an actual ending.

This was a somewhat uninspired, boring game. While it's true you "work out," in reality, it's simply exchanging money for upgrades; there is no minigame related to working out. Additionally, there is no map whatsoever, making completing objectives a chore. As a completionist, I spent time getting 100% of all achievements, which took around 13 hours. Overall, I cannot recommend this game unless you can get it for cheap, as there is not much content and it strays from its original purpose of…

This game would be getting a thumbs up if it had a map. But the only map is inside of a building you can't enter, that you can only see from a distance...and there's no zoom button. Surely it wouldn't have been too hard to have that same texture pop up in front of my character when I press M? It's a short game, but I must have spent nearly an hour of my playtime just wandering around looking for patches of trees. Just give me a map. If I was doing this IRL, i'd just draw it on a napkin. Not…

Quite a bit frustrating without proper planning, I found it difficult to get one of the two endings without having memorized where the objects I needed were. Overall an enjoyable gameplay loop, but a lack of map/marker is an easily frustrating feature and makes the game a little harder to enjoy fully.

There are too many other games that are very similar and do this much better. With a bunch of QoL updates, this might be worth the time, but the last half of the game is incredibly tedious. The last 10% is just aimlessly wandering around looking for the random trees you may have missed, and the fog is so thick that exploring is super inefficient.

I don't want to leave a negative review but for anything coming from forest hustle like I was just a warning. This game feels much slower and tedious due to the drone being almost useless for how slow and ineffective it is even at max upgrades, as well as there only being a singular resting point.(you can off set this with energy potions but then the grind to max your stats is worse.) the positive is that the game environment is more mazelike and a bit more fun to explore while being…

Holy hell, do not buy this. Don't even try this. This is a game where you are lost in a forest... so you cut the forest down, so you're lost in a big map where everything looks the same. I thought I could cut down a tree to the stump, and use that as a guiding post. But when you upgrade your chopping power, trees don't become stumps anymore, they just get shredded completely. You have to cut down trees, buy upgrades, cut down more trees. I thought that sounded great. I'm the kind of person…

It's mad to not recommend after 9.2 hours, but sunk cost kept me going, hoping there'd be a pay off to the grind - I got the most went-for ending and man was it underwhelming. If there was any amount of meaningful payoff I'd maybe be recommending it for what it is, a simple cutesy grindy time-waster that scratches an itch, despite it's terrible upgrade pacing and the near useless drone (as pointed out in other negative reviews). But it really is just a time-waster, and there's defo better ones…

Took me over a few weeks & 2 complete playthroughs to get both endings. That's about 100% of the achievements done in Lumberjacked on Steam. That'll be 177 perfect games now. Oh, and ignore the fact that the achievement icons are broken because the current beta Steam client update broke it though.

This is a great game to play if you enjoyed "A game about digging a hole" or similar concepts. It has light story building with two unique endings. It could use a bit more to do in the End Game like a skill that's uncapped to spend money on or even being able to buy signs or other things to brighten up the world. It was a fun short game chopping wood. Kinda like the hole digging games where you have to sell rocks to get money to get better gear. Here it just is wood. The only annoying thing I had at the end is when you have to chop down those 10,000, then you don't have eternal running stamina. So you can run and then there is a cooldown. Otherwise it you just want to know "What is next...." Nice game. I totally recommend it.

It is a good, simple game that serves well as a way to unwind at its pricepoint. However, the lack of a map/radar or even a compass makes it extremely difficult to navigate around the forest. At the point where I realised I spent more time walking around than doing the actual chopping, I decided to drop the game. It's become almost frustrating trying to realise where you already went, and where you didn't. I just can't think of a single good reason why a map, or at least a minimap would be…

After 10 hours of playing... I got frustrated a lot of times, but I managed to chop up all the wood. It was a grind—especially after finishing the easy part; I snapped when I saw I had to start over—but all in all, it's a top-notch game for killing time. Game looks nothing at all in the screenshots, it's all orange and the fog setting is so Jacked up you can't see anything. Combine that with the slow travel speed and the game very quickly loses any potential charm it had before the Halloween update. There's not even a graphic control for the ridiculous amount of fog either. I haven't been able to play this as it was intended so far and it's been frankly enough time waiting for a game I already purchased.

I generally only buy games with achievements to 100% them, this game did not disappoint, all in it has taken me 11 hours to complete with much help from the useful guides and helpful community posts i couldn't ask for more, the game itself is simple but fun, reasonably priced and i'm my time playing; bug free. if your looking for a fun simple game to pick up and put down when time will allow i highly recommend you try this.
