What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 53 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (116 of 158 positive).
Players praise the game as a fitting conclusion to the trilogy, with engaging combat and story. [1][2][3] Many note the PC port is based on the Switch version, with performance and graphical issues. [4][5][6] Some reviewers warn that newcomers may be lost without playing previous games. [7][8]

There's a lot to discuss about this game, from its conclusion, to the PC port and baffling translation decisions. The series has suffered from poor PC ports outsourced to a developer known for lying and lacking quality control, which is sad given how criminally underrated this game series is. I'm writing this review out of tough love. Preface: My playtime on Steam might seem short. I spent most of my time on the …

Go look up the PS4 version's UI/menus/backgrounds, then go look at the Switch/PC version. The difference is inexcusable. It is god awful what they did to it and is an active detriment to the game. What's even better about the PC version is that IT IS PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF RENDERING THEM CORRECTLY. They just can't be bothered to 'fix' it since it's a Switch port issue, so we're left with crappy washed out …

I was so scared of the bad reviews, but it isn't as bad as it seems. The game is a switch port, and the random FPS drop from the Switch is here. I used to believe Mary Skelter 2 I got on Switch was laggy because of my old Switch, but now it's clear that the caused was from the game's weird optimization. Aside from that I have no problem with it. The game runs well so far. I play with the original JP dub and with …

The port is not that bad if you compared it to the switch version, its the same game but with better framerate and loading time. I wished they port from the PS4 version, like everyone else, but i dont expect too much from IFI at this point. I didnt have any issues with the game from start to finish, no crashes and no visible framedrops (the "classic" IF constant 63fps). If you played the second game on PC, you can …

Mary Skelter Finale: A Worthy Conclusion to a Dark Fairy Tale Mary Skelter Finale delivers a fitting, if imperfect, finale to the twisted fairy tale that began in the depths of the living prison known as Jail. As the conclusion to the trilogy, it refines the dungeon-crawling mechanics fans love while introducing ambitious new systems—though not all of them land perfectly. A Bleak Yet Engaging Story Picking up …

66% of the 53 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Mary Skelter Finale. The complaint that keeps coming up: pC port has washed-out UI and backgrounds compared to PS4. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game in the state that it is currently. I knew that the game would be based on the Switch version, but I did not realize that it would actively hinder the experience of the game. It also appears this version has other issues as well. Starting with one of the larger ones, there is a voice file missing in an early cut scene that causes the game to either crash or lock up when it tries to load the file. it seems like the issue is exclusive to the English dub as well as the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mary Skelter 2 on Steam I could put aside it's obvious issues because they weren't horrendous, the game didn't look terrible (although the PS4 graphics should've been an option even if the Switch version was the only English release, this is Steam after all), the price was good, censorship issue got a patch and you got 2 games that were both brilliant. And now we're here and this port is... uh not great and not worth buying without a deep discount or a love for this series. This is a port of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, look. So I've been reading the reviews and a whole lotta cats have been talking about the port and its issues for the most part, taking the rest of the game as a no-brainer or just something the reader's already familiar with. That's fine, and the port DOES have issues, but I figure a lot of people are also curious to know what this game actually is and whether or not it's actually even worth playing. Short answer: if you're a big fan of the Mary Skelter franchise, yes. Otherwise,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cutscene backgrounds are all washed out (just search up playstation cutscenes), crashes within the first hour, inexcusable loading times, dungeons look much worse than the ps version, lighting is overly bright, ruins the atmosphere entirely (again just search up ps footage). Loved MS2 (bought both the digital + physical version of that), this port is a travesty.

(ฅ'ω'ฅ) Intro : In the realm of dungeon-crawling RPGs, where the descent into madness and the unknown often await around every corner, Mary Skelter Finale stands as a shining testament to storytelling and gameplay mastery. As the third and final chapter of the Mary Skelter trilogy, this game takes players on an exhilarating journey that challenges their wits and immerses them in a dark fairytale world. Set in the enigmatic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The start of the game is a bit slow. All the characters are separated and you have to complete each starting dungeon with small parties of 2 or 3 characters before they reunite. But once they reunite it really gets going. Combat is really engaging with a full team. Each girl can chose from 5 jobs at the start that change their skills and stats and give them new outfits. There are dungeon modifiers to make them more difficult in exchance of extra rewards. There a lot blood related mechanics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend this game, I really liked the 1st game, I played it back then on PSV. Then kuSony censored the f*ck out of the 2nd game, destroying it in process. I thought with Finale I could catch up on story I missed in the 2nd game then enjoy the game but no. The structure of the game is gimmicky to say the least. It's basically managing 3 whole parties with different characters that each have their own progression obviously. The feeling of progression is all over the place even though…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is okay, focuses much more on mechanical dungeon crawling than story for the most part. Some of the new characters are interesting, some aren't. The reason I'm giving this a negative review is due to one singular stupid bug. If your audio device switches at any point during your play session (your headphones die, something gets unplugged, etc) you are now unable to save your game. If you attempt to save your game anyway, you softlock. This wouldn't be a big deal if MS had the decency to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dude, it's the same game for the third time? No class changes? Same skills? Same mechanics???????????????? No wonder this game has 93 reviews over two years. Changing Characters: the one new system they did introduce is having to swap between 5 (FIVE, CINCO, 五, funf, cinq) different parties of characters to progress the story. You're constantly going back to a different party at a lower level and with weaker gear so that you can progress. It's a terrible feeling.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a negative review, but a mixed one. If you like the franchise, you can still enjoy it, but stick to play on Easy (which is not as easy as you may think) and enjoy the ending of this story. Going for the review, I get what they were trying to do for this game, and the idea in itself wasn't bad, but there are a couple of design choices that make this game a pain in the arse to navigate and enjoy: - Resources and Exp are halved compared to previous games: there is no other way…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anime DC RPG + good controls + party system = High quality graphics with an interesting story. Play from various characters' point of view. Upgrade skills and change jobs. Charlotte best waifu. Easy to switch between characters and make sure to save. Be careful of falling into the water or other hazards when moving too fast. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The culmination of three mainline games, a crap ton of novels, and two dating sims. This probably won't be the finale you were expecting. The first couple of hours are pretty disjointed but it gets better later. You don't technically need to play the other games to play this one but if you don't, you're gonna be lost at certain points. Be sure to play the second game first.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like trillion before it, I bought this game for Nanameda Keis art, but again the game is broken to the level of being unplayable. This time, the graphics are broken so you cannot see anything except the UI. However, it doesnt seem like other people are getting this, so just have caution
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is too frustrating, and not because it's hard. The split groupings seem interesting, until you realize that every chapter is going to repeat the same lore points multiple times as each team independently figures things out. Not to mention having to repeat the farming and upgrading loop independently for each group. To understanding the lore, you also have to be aware of supplementary materials outside of the games. Fun. Then the ending just completely insults the…

neutral · AI labelView post →Every game series that originally catered to gamers offered sexy moments, revealing outfits, and upskirt shots alongside solid gameplay, because the creators focused on what gamers actually wanted. neutral · AI labelView post →Mary Skelter Finale is a dense, story-forward dungeon crawler that feels like the conclusion to a long, weird, and surprisingly emotional journey. It leans hard into its dark fairy-tale identity: grim imagery, unsettling themes, and a cast that’s constantly pushed to the edge. If you’re here for atmosphere and narrative momentum, it commits to the bit from start to finish. The core loop is classic first-person labyrinth crawling—map, fight, manage resources, push deeper—while constantly…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one is a love and hate mixed bag, but in the end, that's a thumb up: Multi-party crawler, with active party switching. You must switch from time to time in order to progress. It can get messy ^^ (more on this below). Exploration with active skills: Each character has a special skill usable during exploration such as a short teleportation or the ability to destroy obstacles. Unsettling environments (maze themes and monsters are truly unique, no spoiler). Multi-layered combat system:…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I personally like how this game with how it ends and much more. Pros: More exploration since the dungeons are bigger Different Parties to go through the different chapters which is neat since not a lot of games that I play uses this mechanic and it makes it more fun More uses for the girls during the chapters as in MS2 whenever you get a girl or more their use in the skills during the time wondering the dungeon is only limited to that dungeon where in MSF its expanded and more frequent in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mary Skelter Finale, despite all its flaws, is a great dungeon crawler game, with a not so great conclusion to the Mary Skelter Finale Before I talked about the game itself, I just want to say that the PC port is surprisingly good, which is natural since I play the game 3 years after its launch. My spec is really old, and bad, yet I can play this game in 1080p/60fps quite well with Hardware Accelerated GPU Schedule setting on. There are some stutters but it's not that bad, but I have to keep…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mary Skelter Finale, developed by Compile Heart, Idea Factory, and Ghostlight LTD, and published by Idea Factory International, closes out a trilogy that has always embraced a peculiar mix of dark fairy tale reinterpretation and classic dungeon-crawling RPG design. As a concluding chapter, it carries a sense of finality that permeates both its narrative and gameplay structure, immediately pushing players into a harsher, more desperate version of its already bleak world. Rather than easing into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God I tried to enjoy this so hard. Way harder than I should have. But I can only deal with so much lost progress because of either: a. AMBUSH -> BLOOD SKELTER -> ENTIRE TEAM DEAD or b. Dead end hallway with treasure -> NIGHTMARE JUMPSCARE -> NO PASS-THROUGH ABILITIES -> ENTIRE TEAM DEAD Eventually it happened again and I just thought, "What exactly new can I realistically expect the game to have in the last dungeon I have left to do?" So I looked it up. NOPE.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just completed all 3 games, and I gotta say, I enjoyed various things from the series a lot. Gameplay The balance in this game was pretty well done. Playing on the hardest difficulty also wasn't an issue. Each area had a mob that was basically a boss to avoid, but I think that is fine. It wouldn't feel like a challenge to traverse the dungeon if I was able to clear every mob with ease. I put an extra challenge to myself that I wouldn't switch classes, I could still unlock them and their…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dungeons, especially the late-game ones, feel like a massive slog. Salvation Tower (oh horror) alone takes what feels like an eternity, and you’re looking at floor after floor of monotonous, white, maze-like corridors. If you don’t like repetitive dungeon crawling, prepare to hit a wall (I sure did). 52x52 tiles of backtracking per floor. Backtracking is strong with this one, and you’ll be spending a lot of time retracing your steps, just to unlock new parts of the dungeon that are more of the…
