Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 29 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Negative (16 of 50 positive).
Many complain about the dark, grainy graphics making objects hard to see. [1][2][3] Some note the game is short and shows its age with low resolution and technical issues. [4][5][6]

This game has "Mostly Negative" reviews... But only because it's older. >..< The only bug I had with this game is that it crashed. Once. After which it was completely fine. Everything else? Old school H.O.G... Except they actually tried to make it entertaining. OOH! No. Really. First -> Story. It's a mystery! Game might be short, but they have some crazy ass level designs to go along with it! (Dolls...! BRR!) (I …

It was a short and enjoyable Hidden Object game. I like the design of the characters and the story had me interested enough to keep playing to the end. It could have used more to it to make it more memorable and it does show its age with the aspect ratio and low resolution, but if you can look past that. Its worth trying if your a fan of Hidden Object games.

This game suffers from the same problem as "The Search for Amelia Earhart", with low quality HO scenes and I can't really recommend a game that strains my eyes. Positive - Interesting concept of turning the camera angles to find objects - Nice 2D art between HO scenes Neutral - Story is interestng, but lacks depth and character development. The characters you're supposed to connect with appears a few seconds. The …

Get it from a bundle or on some massive sale if you really thirst for it, otherwise don't bother. The game does have charm in story and the visual novel-ish character designs, but it also has some serious issues: - The game is incredibly dark. Like looking at a black corner for a slightly less black item, while having bad resolution and grainy textures-bad. - There are things happening, but no real progression, plot …

extremely short (a bit more than one hour) and below average game. i had one bug where i couldn't progress and had to reset the chapter. despite being released in 2010 no need for a detailed review this game is just not worth it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought the game in the bundle and due to the fact that I wanted to see some piece of the history of HOG games. The story of the investigative jounalist is good and logical. The resolution of the screen is "outdated", but pictures and HO scenes are generally of good quality. It is really impossible to compare this game from 2010 (really?) to modern games from this point of view. But the game has all the parts as modern game: minigames, HOG screens (the mechanics of looking for items), puzzles.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i do love the design of Blinx immensely tho, and his 2nd game is a bit more interesting. Something about the first game had real early CG / Beyond the Mind's Eye kinda weak aesthetic tho

neutral · AI labelView post →Mind's Eye would still be a bad game if the scale was smaller but at least target sales, layoffs and crunch would have been a lot smaller too. Making a high budget AAA game as the first title of your studio is just a bad move.

neutral · AI labelView post →Requires setting compatibility mode to allow it to play on Windows 10.A lot of the scenes are quite dark making some of the objects difficult to find. This is compounded by the game's low resolution. There is very little in terms of gameplay, it's mainly a collection of still images with objects to find, and not that many objects per scene. They've tried to add depth to some objects i.e. requiring finding other objects to interact with, but it is so weak it feels like an afterthought. There is a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love the hidden object scenes in this game. The 3D aspect where you have to actually move around the scene is something I wish I saw more in games like this. I also like the animation style between scenes with dialogue, though the text was a bit unfortunate. But.. people are on point when they say that the graininess and resolution make this game difficult to handle. I felt a little motion-sick after playing because I was focusing so hard on details that just simply weren't there.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/_jZ7iR8sp-M Age is the biggest detractor for this title as the 4:3 aspect ratio and stability issues detract a bit too much away from what is otherwise a stronger hidden object title.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thumbs down. This game has an interesting gimmick, but that’s not enough to overcome the negatives. The gimmick is that the hidden object scenes are not limited to 2D. The perspective can be shifted slightly, giving a 3D appearance. Some objects only appear if you look at the correct angle. Unfortunately, this was pretty much the only positive aspect about this game. Here are the negative aspects. Some hidden objects were not hidden fairly and are almost entirely hidden no matter which angle…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The reduced colour palette and low resolution hidden object scenes make this game a chore to play. I end up getting bored and clicking Hint just to get and game over as quickly as possible. The 2.5D hidden object scenes are an interesting metric, but can get tedious after a while. Especially when every beat of the game is story, HO, story, HO... What puzzles there are are trivial and also low resolution. Game play is very linear. There is no exploration required. Ultimately, there are…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Follow our [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/36214917/]Curator Group for more reviews Mind's Eye: Secrets of the Forgotten is a hidden object game that has aged horribly. In a genre that is notorious for every game playing the same, Mind's Eye does almost nothing unique. There are a few puzzles that are interesting enough, but the story and object finding are mind-numbingly generic. Maybe it will appeal to die-hard fans of the genre, but for someone that only enjoys the higher…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but fun HOG. Sometimes the controls for some of the "trick" hidden objects were kind of clunky - but I liked the "tricks."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I once played the actual Dionysus during a Christmas game of Mage: The Awakening for a LARP group of about 50 people. Because this game was in the LARP fan club called the Camarilla/Mind's Eye Society, I needed to get approval of a chain of storytellers going all the way up to the national level.
neutral · AI labelView post →Ladies and gentlemen, here's the story of the craziest bug I worked on during the late stages of shipping #MindsEye. The final fix went in exactly one week before release, just in time for the day 1 patch. I wish I had the opportunity to do a full post mortem of that project, but this will probably never happen. That bug was a gem though. The world needs to know about it before my memory fades away. #GameDev #GameAI #Programming 1/n
neutral · AI labelView post →I could only recommend it to the true HOG fanatic, and even then I would suggest to look elsewhere. The age of this game clearly shows: the biggest issue of course being the grainy images, which makes finding items in HOG screens a chore. As far as content goes, the game consists of 4 'acts' that each consist of a number of Hog screens chained together, with a few puzzles in between to keep things fresh. In my opinion, the story was subpar at best, with some pretty significant logic flaws. To…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As far has hidden objects go I would give this a C+ maybe a B-. This is almost entirely a hidden object game but the objects are very specific from scene to scene. Some don't select very easily and others need you to have a very specific camera angle. Over all the game is good but very short and the graphics are rather poor. Cinematics are alright and if you care about the story they fill in some blanks. The graphics of each scene are a bit grainy making it difficult to identify some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →... SO... Up until now, the game tends to use the tell-tale vibrate function to inform the player they're in a psychic hotspot, a cue to set up their Mind's Eye and enter Detective Mode. Well. neutral · AI labelView post →Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to recommend this one. This game aged in a rather bad way where it was actually eye-straining. It was rather glitchy in that I couldn't use the in-game cursor and several of the games were very hard to complete due to glitchy movements. The story itself was rather interesting, however. And the way the hidden-object scenes were was rather unique! You can scroll to the sides a little bit and the backgrounds would move more than the foregrounds...some objects…

The fact this was the precursor to the hit video game MindsEye made by Built a Rocket Boy, released on June 10, 2025 for the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
