[1][4][5] Several players report technical issues, including missing sound and stuttering, requiring fixes. [6][7][8]

Don't buy unless your willing to spend an hour fixing the mess Square Enix has left. There's 3 different ways to fix the micro-stuttering, no guarantee any of them work. However companies like this shouldn't be able to leave games in this state.

I bought this game for nostalgia's sake. But now that i'm older and playing through it, i realize just how good this game is for it's target demographic. I mean it, this is GREAT for children. It's cartoonish sure, but it's mechanics are really good for giving a young player a training ground for developing problem solving skills. It doesn't promote you just blindly charging in, a quick scan of the environment can …

When I was younger, my mom gave me an Easter basket before church. In it contained some candy and this game. My life was changed. I absolutely adore mini ninjas with all my heart. There is such a charm to this game that few games can deliver. The combat is fun, engaging and the whole game is surprisingly deep for what it looks like. There’s a great collection aspect of the game, and the character switching feels …

Fun game. Too easy (especially all boss fights) for adults, so I assume this game is made for kids. Sadly, the game has no achievements on Steam, making it meaningless to gather secret items. Balancing is weird; many characters are completely useless. It's just a game that, I would say, is enjoyable but not fresh or interesting.

Mini Ninjas is one of those childhood games that I remember with heavy doses of nostalgia. Outside of the fact that I had to download some patches off Steam, I still believe it holds up pretty well! For a children's game that is... It's pretty simple, and with all the tools given, I had to force myself to use different items or characters as the game doesn't pose much need to do so. On the plus side, it's ever as …

Critics, per Wikipedia
The game received "mixed or average reviews" on all platforms except the Wii version, which received "generally favorable reviews", according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. GameSpot said of the game, "Whether you're big or small, there's a lot to like about these little ninjas and their lengthy journey." The Guardian concluded that the game's "constant charm renders it calming and even relaxing to play" and "any parent watching Mini Ninjas being played will find it hard to resist the temptation to have a go over their own." Sean Garmer of 411Mania gave the Xbox 360 version a score of eight out of ten, calling it "a very good first effort from IO Interactive. The story will…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game on a whim since I saw it was on sale, and I remembered really liking it as a kid because "hee hoo fun ninja game where I get to cast spells and do ninja things" Now as an adult, I'm coming back to it with a renowned appreciation for its surprisingly in-depth level design with pleasantly widespread maps, simple yet effective combat and stealth, and its absolutely stunning approach to artistic fields in its presentation. Every level is oozing with charm and love from the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mini Ninjas (2009) Light stealth mechanics and simple combat makes this a perfectly servicable action game for kids. Adults may find themselves wanting for more though. It has some surprisingly stunning environments and lighting, which might be enough to make it worth seeing through to the end. /A

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was one of the first few games I played when I was a kid. The game is easy and simple but fun to play. It was meant to be played on older operating systems so expect glitches. I bought it on Steam purely for the nostalgia.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, yeah most people don't care, but I and others do! Why did Square Enix have to add a EULA to this game! I didn't agree to that when I bought it! Why should I agree now? And why is a EULA by the publisher even necessary? 17 years later!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of those hidden gems from back in the day. i used to play this game when i was little on my nintento wii. i felt like i was the only person from my friend group that even knew about this game but even now 16 years later from release date id still play it because of the nostalgia. you just have to give this game a chance.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The nostalgia hits hard man. I loved this game as a kid and to this day, I still do. Can't believe the graphics were so good too for a game that was released 2009.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this on my Wii... it is nice going back 15 years and seeing the same places, characters, animals that you've seen back then. This is something that games allow you so easily. For those who never played mini ninjas, mechanics are simple, story is fun and the game is easy to play. You can switch between ninjas instantly and possess animals' spirits. A small action-adventure with a charming world. This makes me feel like I want to be a kid again.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Square Enix is a greed pool of money grubbing corporate penny pinchers. Rise up against the machine!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some games from when you were younger aren't as good. Luckily Mini Ninjas holds up as a fun little whimsical adventure.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just how I remember it as a kid! This game is a blast. I had no idea there was a PC port, but everything seems to be running smoothly (for me at least). We need Mini Ninjas 2!!!!!!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →remembered this from my childhood on the 360, came back to enjoy it again on PC. very much recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game; I've loved it on the PS3 and now on the Steam Deck too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game many years ago when I was very young. I was probably in 1st grade or so. This game meant so much to me. I ran around the house pretending to be a ninja and convincing my friends that I was a ninja. To the developers, thank you for making my childhood that much more magical. I would pay any amount of money to play this game for the first time as a kid but playing it now will just have to do. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Peak game. Only complaint is that it's too short!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember it from my PS3 days. Great game, too bad it doesn't have achievements, because the console version had them. I definitely recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for the first time in 2026 and it held up, considering how old this game was. I was put off when looking at this title in my backlog because it was old and Steam said it didn't support controller support but in reality it did and ran perfectly with no issues. This game reminded me of Spyro, where you go around freeing your comrades, gaining upgrades to your abilities and collecting loot. It was pretty simple and straightforward and light hearted something I really needed in the darkness…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: The Good Ninja game for the kids that you used to play on Xbox 360 in late 2000s. And yes, the PC Version exist and it's DRM-FREE. Summary: Previously played on Xbox 360 and revisiting this game is such a blast from the past. You play as a group of Ninjas that must defeat the Evil Ashida. It's a kid friendly game. The gameplay is mixed with you able to possess animal to support your journey, like Foxes that could scout ahead or a Grizzly bear to attack Enemies head on. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We reached a particularly rough section of the game pretty close to the end of Seven Samurai 20XX so I'm gonna rest it and we'll continue playing it next Friday! It's Mini Ninjas on the PS3 next time on Monday!
neutral · AI labelView post →I really love this game, however it is broken here on steam. Halfway through it will constantly crash, making finishing impossible, and there is no audio during gameplay.

neutral · AI labelView post →Ok Mini Ninjas might be kinda shitty. It's quite a pretty game but it's an action platformer that (so far) doesn't have anything interesting going on with action or platforming. Feels like a game assembled from stock parts that don't fit together.
