Players praise DrillLand as the best Mr. Driller game, packed with varied modes and a fantastic soundtrack. [1][2][3] Some find the game surprisingly difficult and not as casual as its cute art suggests. [4][5] A few reviewers criticize the port for colorblind issues, missing instruments, and a clunky hub. DO NOT BUY IF YOU'RE COLOURBLIND. I know this probably comes across as obvious, but I've played plenty of versions of Mr Driller and have managed to get by with only minimal problems. I don't know how they've managed to do it, but in this one they have chosen just the WORST shades of green and red for the tiles, to the point that it's completely unplayable for me. The fact that there's nothing in the options to try …

I still cannot believe that of all the games ported to PC we'd get this one. Mr. Driller: Drill Land is a GameCube game released only in Japan in 2002. It's my favourite action puzzle game, and to be able to play it in English and on my PC is like a dream come true. Like the best puzzle games, it's very simple to understand but has lots of depth. As well as the familiar dig down to 500, 1000 or 2000m game modes that …

why the hell is this marked as casual?? it's absolutely brutal, especially when you do the higher difficulties. i mean that as a good thing though, very fun!!!

The best game in the Mr Driller series by far, Drill Land combines the core gameplay found in other Driller titles with an array of completely reworked new modes based on the attractions at a DisneyLand-like theme park. This game has been exclusive to the Japanese Gamecube since 2002, so it's awesome to see it released on more platforms and with nice graphical updates to make it look great at modern resolutions. If …

This is the best game in the Mr. Driller series! It was originally a Japanese-exclusive GameCube game, but it's now remastered in HD on Steam (and on the Switch). positive · AI labelView post →don't need much time to recommend this one! It's the gamecube Mr Driller game you never saw in the West. Only now it's HD and it's looking quite dapper. Borderless fullscreen, windowed, and fullscreen options, some basic audio stuff. It's not your standard Driller game, this was in 2002 - every level is an attraction, with new rules and mechanics ( and you're usually forced into playing as a certain character ) there was voice acting in the original, but since Japanese only, I'm sure that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr Driller: DrillLand is down to around $3 - a compilation of variants on the classic arcade-puzzle game, each one with some fun twists, including a Labyrinth of Druaga-based RPG version with inventory management. The best, biggest version of Mr Driller for sure, barely known on PC though.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could "thumbs up" this but I think this is a really bad way to just play some Mr. Driller, because you have to engage with the extremely bizarre and clunky Disney World thing. If you don't like every mode of the game (and playing Hole of Druaga in particular is like living in a living nightmare) you simply are not allowed to advance to further levels of modes you may actually want to play. Good music though.

neutral · AI labelView post →Hey Namco, what's up with the Switch port being better? I'm still going to play it on PC bc I love it, but... this port? Seriously? the drill around the world level (idk the exact name of it) has missing instruments on the first song, Switch version doesn't, I haven't played the other levels yet if I'm being honest, will update review when I get to it as I really want the PC port to shine. there's weird frame pacing issues, i'm gonna try playing again on 60hz tomorrow to see if that changes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr Driller: DrillLand! The best and biggest game in the long-running action puzzle series. This one has a ton of different game modes with wildly different rules and themes (including a Tower of Druaga RPG mode) and multiplayer. Great music, charming art. This one's just good fun.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a puzzle game, Mr. Driller provides a lot of variety and replayability, but the main reason I'm writing this review is because the soundtrack is disgustingly good. I have no clue why Go Shiina decided to go so hard on the OST for a cutesy puzzle platformer, but it paid off and this game's soundtrack is now a permanent part of my playlist.

The World Tour mode is regular solid arcade Mr. Driller, and the other four game modes are interesting twists on the formula: - Drindy Adventure is an Indiana Jones-style mode with unlimited time where you collect golden statues, while avoiding rolling boulders and other traps. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: A very poor PC version of an excellent Gamecube puzzle game (that was Japan only). The game stutters terribly unlike the silky smooth console versions. This is due to uneven frame pacing and won't be mitigated by adjusting refresh rate or whether you lock vsync at driver level. The only thing that fixed it for me was dropping DXVK into the install folder. Leaderboards are very limited with only a top 100 All Time for each mode and no way to filter Friends Only. On the PS4…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its fun for a bit but it's not as good as the PSX version, which I play almost every day in the toilet on a handheld. The movement and flow just isn't the same as this version, the PSX version is a masterpiece.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i felt I bought a 2010 flash cartoon. its cute... but I don't like it as as a game. The controls don't feel like they transferred to PC right, even with a gamepad. There is just something oddly off about it but I don't know enough about the series to say what. While I did get it on sale for under $10 so I guess I can deal with it, but I would never buy this at full price thats for sure.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hole of druaga is my favourite game mode you guys are just haters
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is brilliant and fun, both in concept and playstyle. However this port is just awful, inconsistent instructions vs. gamepad vs. keyboard; nonsensical english translation in both the story (forgiveable) and the instructions (not forgiveable). I looooved the gamecube version, this is awful. Looks the same, plays awkward.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing this game was a like taking a step back in time to when bright colourful and fun adventures await! It's a fun puzzle game with multiple modes and themes represented as different attraction rides. Each mode has its own quirks and gimmicks, with the "World Tour" one being the classic mode. The story mode is short, but fun, and covers the first level of difficulty of all the main modes. Whimsical and fun characters that seem to have made their introduction in previous games, but there's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is glorious. -Crisp sprites and cutscene animations. All the 2D art looks very nice at 1080 -Japanese voice w/ about a dozen subtitle languages Dig a chance!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is some weird mishmash of new Mr Driller modes. There's something resembling arcade mode but it's not apparent in the beginning because you have to figure out how to navigate the Disney World looking world map to find what you want. Presentation aside, it's good and the music is ace and maybe too good for a puzzler. The multiplayer is decent but nothing amazing. Only two modes and one of them is awful (searching for a needle in haystack race?) For sub 5 bucks, go for it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →yeah i like it. druaga and the "indiana jones" style minigames are a bit tough, but i like how the different rules make you think about the game in different ways - it's fun to think up different strategies. I'm not that good at mr driller (I can get to 1000m with standard rules if i'm very lucky), and it didn't take that long to unlock the 2000m stages, which are more than enough for me to handle. people mention the great music and it really is very pleasant, especially when playing the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, can't really recommend it. There's 5 minigames which are just standard Mr. Driller with variations on the rules, and some stuff like a parade cutscene and a series of "shops" to buy NFTs with in-game currency, which is earned by playing minigames. And after you beat the game (which takes like an hour and a half), you're introduced to the "real game" of sorts. That is, each minigame has levels 2, 3 and S which dramatically increase the difficulty to the level I remember from my childhood.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steam has gotten very good at tailoring sale pages to my interests, as I was completely unaware a Mr. DRILLER game was available on Steam until browsing this year's Golden Week sale. I purchased it shortly after discovery and, while I had played other games in the series, Mr. DRILLER DrillLand was new to me. While many games fall into genres and offer their own twists to the expected style, Mr. DRILLER gameplay is truly unique. That is not to say that one couldn't draw similarities between it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr. Driller DrillLand (down to $4.79; demo), a remaster of the most content-rich version of Namco's arcade dig-action game, packed with unnecessary lore about the Dig Dug family tree—it has online but it's randoms-only, alas https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/mr-driller-drillland-switch/

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr. Driller Drill Land is one game that I fell in love with ever since I laid my eyes on it. It's a game that's Easy to Pick Up but Hard to Matser, as one person put's it. (Thank you, Shraqil). and to be honest with you, I've only beaten the very first level of the Horror Night House and out of all other playable areas (or Attractions, as the game calls them) I've played both the Star Driller, and the World Drill Tour. I can assure you that they're quite difficult even with Causal…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this fast strategic puzzle game is awesome! It also looks great. This game ain't easy but it has something magical to it... You will loose a lot of time on this timeless classic game. Just get this game!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i mean 40 dollars for 1.5 hour game is a bit crazy, sure. this game hasn't localized for a while if they make Namco Museum-like or Pacman Museum-like game (since NAMCO MUSEUM on Switch had nearly same price as that) where they include other games that hasn't released in the west like 2 (Arcade/PC is japan only btw ik it already came to Switch but that doesn't count), G, A then that's probably worth a price if you wait for sale where this game cost 6 dollars then it could be worth the price and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr. Driller is like Tetris and Dig Dug dropped acid together and had a child... who also dropped acid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At last, I can enjoy this masterpiece of a puzzle while understanding all the cutscenes. Game is awesome and remaster is good as well, the only problem I noticed is keyboard keys displayed even if you use gamepad. Now we need Mr. Driller G remastered and localized!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AFTER SITTING THROUGH 30 MINS OF ANIME STUFF, AND BEING TORTURED BY IT, I GOT TO PLAY THE GAME. The game itself is great. The graphics are great. The music is just dandy. That's if you can get to it. If you don't like anime, you can't skip the many-minutes long scenes, you will be TORTURED as there's NO WAY TO SKIP THEM. Someone in the discussions said TAB key, but that DOES NOT WORK. I want to play the game again, but I can't, because I'd have to sit through 30 mins of cut-scenes again.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got Mr. Driller DrillLand on sale for $5 on Steam and holy shit, this game just OOZES style and is one of the most Y2K things i've ever seen, I love it #GryllGaming
positive · AI labelView post →small quirks like how you cant quit out of the application via controller or how there are no controller prompts visually anywhere, marks of a "okay/decent PC port." Nothing impressive, gets the job done. The game though?? This game rules. If namco was going to release any of the Driller titles in the west, I'm glad it was this one. The soundtrack is reason enough to check this game out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to learn, hard to master. Basically another example of looks can be deceiving
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mr. Driller Drill Land is a Japan-exclusive Nintendo GameCube classic, but now it's back: remastered and localized for the western audience on Steam and other systems.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dunno what to say about MR. DRILLER, I think it's certainly not a game for everyone! I came into this game expecting something easy, kinda like for kids, relaxing -- this game is not that! It has it's own mechanics, you'll end up without air many times, there's strategy, each plataform has a theme to it... Do not go by the cute animation thinking this is for kids, or just like a tetris game, it's not! And it's not that easy!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a joke (Read the full review for a better game recomendation) I finished this game in my first seating, it took me about 4 hours. Most of this time was spent watching some really stupid unskippable cartoon cinematics telling a childish story, but even young children would probably find it obnoxious. After the initial unskippable cartoon there is a 2 minutes unskippable song intro. After the song is done, you have about 10 seconds to find the correct key to press to start the game,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →--- Update 1/5/2026 --- *English* This game is a HD re-release of Mr. Driller Drill Land, a Japanese Gamecube game never released outside Japan or in languages outside of Japanese. The series primarily focuses around the character Susumu Hori the son of Taizo Hori from the arcade game Dig-Dug who also appears in this game. The game is primarily a puzzle game where you dig to immense depths of the earth to find treasure. At the same time digging you have to worry about falling blocks and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After nearly 2 decades, the originally Japanese exclusive Gamecube title "Mr. DRILLER DrillLand" would finally be made available in English for PC and as a fan of the previous entries in the series I couldn't be more thrilled to get this on sale. That being said, I should emphasize I was happy to get this on sale. While I had never had a chance to play the original it gave me the chance to finally experience this game and it's a very fun installment to the Mr. Driller franchise, the last time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of the flash game Snowmuncher (Neopets) or Soul Hounds III (ZZZ), you will love this one as those two are clones of this. Mr. Driller is an adorable and challenging series that is easy to pick up, difficult to master. If your on the fence, I can recommend trying free options like Pico Driller (Pico8), or grabbing this games demo on all mainline consoles as its on Xbox, Switch, and Playstation. The demo in particular is like a free game in itself highly recommend.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love Mr. Driller, however this game isn't worth $29.99 if you ask me. Maybe $11.99 which I paid from Humble Bundle, but even then I'm struggling. I am quick to judge games and this one had me annoyed right from the start. Some kind of story, then some horrible singing. Just get me in the freakin game already. I wanna drill some ♥♥♥♥. So I get in game and I get more story.. I wish I could skip all the cut scenes. Now I'm at a map. The map is annoying because you select something and have to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of the original Mr. Driller back in the early 2000s, then you would thoroughly enjoy this game. There are new levels and new kinds of digging sites, but it retained the original Mr. Driller feel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is very good i have beaten the game 10+ times so its not the hardest or longest game (at least on casual mode) but its a fun puzzle game with great characters so it doesn't matter to me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Mr. Driller on PC finally at long last. And a good port too. Technically it's a port of a... ... wow... a 20 year old Gamecube game. (Man I'm old.) But you could hardly tell from looking at it. The art is crisp, the port is wonderful. It plays great. For those who don't know Mr. Driller, it's a long running Namco series of arcade puzzlers. Instead of lining up falling blocks, you control a little driller dude digging into shaft of puzzle game blocks trying to reach the bottom. There are…
