What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 182 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,951 of 2,281 positive).
Many players find it a relaxing, low-stakes grind perfect for mindless play. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note it is a mobile game port with no microtransactions, but still repetitive. [4][5][6] A few players enjoy it for co-op or with children, while others find it tedious. [7][8][9][10]

The initial nextfest demo of My Little Universe was cute and interesting to me. I liked the idea of building up planets and resource gathering to make that happen. However the full game experience is quite a slog, the game is repetitive, grindy, and outright puts me to sleep at the best of times. I would not recommend anyone who doesn't get this game for free to pick this up.

My Little Universe has a nice, cozy presentation and a simple concept that’s easy to get into at first. Expanding the world piece by piece and unlocking new areas feels satisfying early on, and I can see why it appeals to people who enjoy chill, low stress games. That said, the grind really wore me down. Progress slows to a crawl after a while, and most of the gameplay turns into repeating the same actions over and …

insanely good port of a mobile game time waster (with local multiplayer!). the grind IS the point. this is a simple game with massive depth that'll easily give you 40-50 hours of gameplay. gather resources, unlock new sections, fish, explore, do basic combat, rinse and repeat. perfect for playing muted while listening to podcasts or killing a few minutes just to unlock one more zone. if this game hooks you, go for …

It's games like this that make me wish Steam had a third option: “MEH” My 8-year-old is absolutely hooked. We’ve been grinding this together in co-op and will probably 100% it, which says a lot. If you’re a kid, or have one, this game is basically digital crack. It is a good way to spend some time with the kiddo. This is a mobile game. It's the kind of game your "gamer" grandma plays. From what I read the mobile …

Zero brain power required, no stressful survival mechanics, you just watch numbers go up and expand the map step by step. Definitely worth the price if you want to go for the 100%! There's easily at least 80 hours of gameplay.

77% of the 182 Steam reviewers we collected recommend My Little Universe. The complaint that keeps coming up: extremely grindy and repetitive. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Little Universe, -tagged as "Dungeon Crawler", is actually more of an idle game instead of a typical dungeon crawler. Even though it has a lot of genre-typical mechanics, to me, it feels more kind of an hybrid-casual and idle arcade or probably a lite version of "Portal Knights". The main gameplay focuses on running around collecting resources to unlock new world tiles and then upgrade your tools to collect the same resources even faster. In between you fight some mobs or huge bosses. It's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look it's well enough made, but this is just that Tik-Tok Brainrot Slop or Mobile Game Time-waster type of thing. I have never played something and been so constantly aware that "I'm really am wasting my time right now". Just go do something else. Anything else.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me just say this, i honestly did not think id play this game for than 30 minutes. i only got it because it was 75% off and i had a few bucks from selling my cards on steam. BUT.... I WOULD FULL prince for this game, it is so fun, addicting and so cute. im 50 years old and am really more into the building survival and def way more complex games like soulmask and cityskylines, or if i go well you can see my library or hundreds of games, ANYWAYS this game will have my attention for many many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Right, My Little Universe. It's got that cozy, wholesome vibe - like a warm bath, but with less nudity and more resource gathering. The art's nice, the concept's simple: expand your tiny world piece by piece, unlock new areas, feel like a proper little god. Early on it's genuinely satisfying, like popping bubble wrap or watching someone you don't like trip over. I only played it with my mate Johan. And that's the key, innit? Split-screen co-op while you're having a proper chat about nothing -…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute grindfest, I purchased it to keep myself from the microtransactions of the mobile version, the ads and what not and it STILL felt like eating sand. The novelty of the first levels wears fast, the challenges are not challenging and by the time you reach the later levels, you either have to backtrack because everything is made of solid titanium or there are barely any resources to mine. Also the whole fishing shark is entirely chance based and I refuse to spend more time trying to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game for what it is. This is relaxing simple game to collect stuff and unlock the world. You wont find Darksouls level boss fights here, its simple relaxing game. Mobile version is cancer btw, this one is good. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really hard to review this game. It's purely grindy, something to like do on the other monitor whilst you work on other stuff. Do recommend that if you can just have it open. But very long. The "Shark" achievement for all the planets possible is a bit annoying as it's just a waiting game or rechecking it a bunch. But overall it is quite good ^_^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like numbers going up, if that makes you feel like you can take on anything, then you might like exploring the many worlds of My Little Universe, a low-stakes resource management game that I found rather fun. quadnines.wordpress.com/2026/08/12/r... #gamereview #videogamereview #indiegame
positive · AI labelView post →I don't like disliking games on steam. It's not a scam game or anything, but it's extremely tedious and boring. The only reason it's slightly better than those Chinese idle games is because there are no micro-transactions in the game. But otherwise there is no strategy. You don't know what the tiles will unlock so you can't "optimize" your build by going for the axe/pickaxe upgrade for instance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 Alright, let's get it out of the way. Yes, this is a mobile game ported to PC. However, I will say I couldn't imagine playing it on a phone after playing it this way. It is LONG. The main game loop is collect resources, upgrade gear to access more resources, repeat. As expected with a mobile based game. It is designed to take a long time on purpose, whether you find that a pro or con is up to your own discretion. I 100% the game and it took around 120hrs. It is taxing, but it is very easy…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played about 25+ hours on this game solo. Game feels like it become a cycle of the same thing about hour 10. Only giving this a non-recommendation for people who want an interesting solo experience and since the game has already high reviews. I am not doubting this might have been more fun with players but 25 hours of playing a game that insta-kills you when you make a mistake on a hazard (or you think you can swim but can't) then you lose your favorite upgrade, then you spend another 10…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting port of a mobile game. Pros: 1. Gripping upgrade system 2. Looks like the game from that one ad 3. Picturesque game design in the lategame Cons: 1. Grind 2. Grind 3. Grind 4. Grind 5. Stupid ah shark fishing achievement 6. In the lategame all tools MUST be max lvl so it can be possible to complete the world 7. 0 collision except for the floor 8. 10th lvl is max 9. Looking at the 7th con and wondering how did I fall into a small gap and lost 1 lvl 10. Grind
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is a mobile app that gives you a taste of what this is like, but this game makes it so you don't even have to watch adds. In fact, it's possible to just sit your character down by some resources and leave them there for hours while you do other things, allowing you to farm super easily. 10/10. Would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unbelievably boring in an extremely good way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →95% of the "game" is just afk farming, upgrades do basically nothing and everything takes forever to progress.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me this game just feels like a mindless repetitive grind. You are basically harvesting ressources most of the time to unlock the next tile (and the next levels of your tools). It doesn't really take long time to unlock individual things, but it kind of end up feeling meaningless since numbers just grows bigger both for you and the enemies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A one-playthrough game I completed this piece of crap 100% in all aspects in 60 hours and simply forgot about it. and there is no reason to even return. Apparently, the developers still don't plan to update this game any further. and in terms of the amount of content compared to the mobile version, this game can be called just a stub. The game itself is a dumb grinder. I strongly recommend you to skip this game product both on computer and mobile platforms.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →easy going but not mindles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a fun game! the gameplay loop is simple. it definitely feels like a sort of mobile game you idly play, but not in a negative way. you go and smack things to collect more things. rinse and repeat. the graphics are very simple, but they get the point across. it's very charming!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% My Little Universe on 10/07/2024. My wife and I just fully beat this game. This is a mobile game port which removes all the microtransactions and time delays of normal mobile games and turns it into a fun little resource collection game. The general game loop is collect materials to unlock new tool upgrades and more of the map to collect more materials faster with the new tools. Fun little relaxing game with dungeons and bosses with a decent amount of game time for the cost. Demodium is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, lots to do. PC version is the best version by far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love everything about this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the type of a game you see in a mobile ad (The Steam version is actually based on a mobile game of the same title) and think "Oh, that looks fun!". That's certainly the case, however only for the first couple of hours, while everything feels fresh. Once you go through the same motions over and over again to grind and get to finish it, it feels more like a chore and something you'd rather keep in the background as an idler.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My wife has low vision and normally doesn't play games herself, she watches me play. This is one game that we can play together with minimal stress and it's been wonderful. Is it a grind fest? Absolutely. Is it still interesting, fun, and sometimes a bit challenging? Also yes. It's not going to be a game for everyone, but it is perfect for us to have a few hours here and there to spend together. We have laughed a lot, made up our own silly names for the various materials/enemies, and just had a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing brain-off grinding game. Can be played one handed. Run up to a resource and the guy will auto farm it. Resources respawn after a few seconds so you can basically AFK farm (as long as enemies don't attack you).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game fixes anger issues for 8$ very cheap
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh god, this has been the best game I've purchased in a while! It's like gather&loot and build kind of game, you collect resources, use them to build land to explore the planet further, as well as using resources to upgrade your gear, weapon and tools further! Little did I know, I 100%'d the first planet in a bit over an hour I believe, and thought "man, that was it?" But turns out there are more planets to explore, each one offering larger selection of different resources, tougher enemies…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review After 100% Achievements Like many others, I found this game on mobile but could NOT handle all the ads and microtrasactions. I purchased on steam and it was way better and quite enjoyable at the start. The further I got into the game, the more grindy and boring it became. Not even to get all the achievements but just getting through all the worlds. You have to farm certain spots for HOURS just to optimize getting enough resources to continue, otherwise it will take even longer. If you…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game of pure mindless grind. Giving it a thumbs up, though it's not for me. You walk forward to a resource node, stand in place for several seconds as you gather the resource, then walk to a border hex to use the resource and add a new hex to the map. None of the resources feel different from each other outside of their shapes and colors, there's no optimization strategy, and even the bosses go down within several hits. It's for listening to podcasts to, or turning off your brain at the end…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The grind is absolutely mental at moments, especially last two planets! Theres no sense of progress with the gear leveling, coz every new planet makes you feel like you starting over from scratch! Thought im gonna give up, but the game is a weird mix of annoyance and addiction... so i have finished it! BUT NEVER MORE! :P PS: Whats the point of finding 1 mil. coin item, when you cant even buy materials from the vendors?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a chill resource gathering game that could benefit from being a bit shorter. It has fun combat mechanics, a vibrant, interesting world to explore and a nice progression system. In the beginning it's really fun and well-paced, but in later stages it feels like it was artificially extended by sharply enlarging the amount of resourced that need to be gathered, lowering the amount of resources you can get from their nodes and making those nodes harder to break even with maxed out tools, all at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a boring mobile trash. It could be sold for $1-2, but not $15.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like wasting time playing this game. It's kinda a relaxing repetitive grind and easy on the eyeholes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finally 100% this game. Its very addicting and rewarding and run when you complete the areas. First game i 100%ed and im glad it was this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DNF. Started out enjoyable, but the leveling system is obnoxious and the overall gameplay gets tedious with giant arbitrary numbers required for building tiles that have nothing to do with anything. There's no permanent character strength or health or anything. Instead, the level max is 10, and each time you level you get a choice of a randomly generated card with abilities on it. And when you die, you lose a level and (the oldest?) card. It's very easy to die. And it's very easy to only…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the level designs are fun, the tedious pacing and one note gameplay loop ruins the experience. Smash item to get resource to unlock ground to find item to smash to get resource to unlock ground... Which isn't a bad loop until the resources needed grows to a point where it's several minutes of smashing the same items to unlock one panel just to need another 4,000 items to unlock the next panel. The combat is bare bones and most enemies can be killed in one hit of the sword ability…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BUGS, bugs, and more bugs..... A little back story; I’ve been playing this game for years on mobile, I had come a long way but sadly the mobile version turned into a money grab, and impossible to play to ads. The further you got the more you had to grind for resources (and watch more and more ads). Advancing in the game became a challenge of 'how many ads you were willing to watch' during gameplay. The number of resources you get by mining is so low (upgrading your tools needed tons of more…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a nice little game, it's 100% casual and I love it. It's not complicated, it's a bit repetitive, but it has cozy vibes and a Snowwhite boss xD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved playing this game on my phone back in the day, and loved playing it on Steam. It's a fun, mobile-type game that translated very well onto PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has absolutely ZERO respect for your time. ZERO. NONE. NADA. It's very clearly a mobile game that was ported to PC, with all the regular trappings: grind, repetitive content, unimpressive graphics, 1,000 different resources with minimal conversion between them (if at all). Though the ads aren't present in the game, you can absolutely FEEL where they would have been, popping up every 10 minutes. The boosts are sold by a vendor for in-game bucks, but obviously it was space-bucks with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: + Relaxing early game — simple, colorful, and oddly satisfying. + Progression feels smooth for a while. + Easy to switch off your brain and just tap away at rocks. + Pleasant pace and cheerful visuals make it good for short sessions. Cons: – The shark mechanic is brutal: one bite, perk gone. – Midgame starts to drag — repetition really sets in. – Card progression feels backwards: you hit the cap fast, then lose cards to random insta-deaths. Rebuilding a decent set gets tedious instead of…
