60 of 103 · most liked firstI think the game looks fine character wise and the music is OK.. but the animations are very jank and feel like they are missing frames. I ran into several bugs, lingering hitbox in stage 3 and the puppet master boss straight up disappears off my screen while I'm fighting him. The game is balanced around giving more extends over health items. Health items that should be in certain places are missing. Bosses break out of throws sometimes and have very strange interactions that don't make sense.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only people complaining about this game are people who are not old enough to know things like Jayce and the wheeled warriors, Ulysses or even when Burger king had the kids club meal. This is a remake of a classic that still feels like a classic. The graphics you can see in the video so why complain after you bought it??? You cant fix stupid and the game aint broken. (Think about it) The game is a 10/10 and thats it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know how in the '90s you’d find an arcade game you loved, only to have it poorly ported to your home system? That excitement quickly turned to disappointment, right? Unfortunately, that’s exactly how I feel about this game. I LOVE Night Slashers, but I can't recommend it in its current state. It lacks polish, the graphics are subpar, and the biggest issue is the collision detection—it's incredibly buggy. For instance, during moments when you’re supposed to be invincible (like during a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Night Slashers Remake is a remake which feels exceptionally cheap and quickly done. For starters every time i see Forever Entertainment i just feel like i know i'm going to be disappointed. So here's whats wrong with this game. No Online CO-OP. I couldn't even find remote play for this. It just seems to be local co-op only (IE a friend has to be in the same room as you). So your left with a multiplayer game that doesn't seem to have a real online mode which you think would be rather important…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If temu did game remakes this would be what you would get. The negative reviews don’t do justice to just how bad this “de-make” actually is. Characters move around like they are wading through tar. I would say the animation is shocking but considering half of it seems to be missing calling it animation feels like giving it more credit than it deserves. Not only that for some unknown reason it seems to have these short screen freezes on the legion go during the intense effects caused by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good classic beat'em up from the glory days of the arcade. The only real criticism I can think of is not including a way to play with the original graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hell I could even give the developers a pass for the awful art style, but they've completely butchered the game feel of the original. It's a worse looking and worse playing version of Night Slashers at the end of the day, what a feat. At least give us the original game as an unlockable or something, that would earn you some positive reviews on the flip side.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my opinion, this remake has no reason to exist, especially if it is so poorly made. The controls are terrible, with an annoying soap effect that often leads you to make mistakes. Even compared to the original game, some enemy attack patterns have been eliminated in some stages, such as the running chase to the vampire's wagon. The original game is clearly better, from all points of view. Solid, balanced, with a higher average difficulty and the boss fights are challenging in the right way.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Night Slashers Remake, a solid attempt that ended up a wonky, janky, broken mess that my friend warned me about, with half baked physics and an art style that looks like a bad episode of Archer. Not to say I didn't have fun with some of it. It's a quick play-through, get's rid of some of the annoying object collision auto-scrolling sections from the original, and the remixed music is pretty good. There's even a new character who is a nice addition. The controls are responsive and you can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Janky and glitchy in the worst ways possible, and the new art design is awful and hideous. I'd recommend it if it came with the original version, but it doesn't. Save your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The front of this one looks very cool and I appreciate the dedicated controls but I'd want full sideart that shows some of the characters on it. 😃🕹️💜 The game is horror themed beat-em-up Night Slashers
neutral · AI labelView post →This is a remake of a 1993 Arcade game with an extra character. Get it on sale under $2 because a playthrough is very short at around 45-50 minutes. It's a rather basic but decent beat 'em up with an horror theme and much more blood and gore than usual. Enemies fall into chunks, dissolve, get decapited, but it's cartoony and fast so not shocking for modern audiences. It controlled well and it seemed like there was a a lot of button mashing (which I enjoyed) with no skill, but at harder…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean it's an early 1990's B horror movie beat 'em up game... I wasn't expecting much. I was introduced to this game only a few years back, I didn't even know it existed, even in the emulation scene. The market for these types of games was over saturated in the later 80's and 90's so there are much better options like Final Fight, Knights of the Round, King of Dragons, Punisher, Altered Beast, Double Dragon... etc... so many to name. The original graphics are actually a lot better, the remake…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Janky and glitchy, There's NO WAY the original was like this. Everything about it I just feel 1 word. Unfinished
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the most recent update I definitely recommend it. I really wanted a way to put attack and jump on a shortcut macro button and they have given me that. I must admit, I am a bit surprised at the negative reviews of this one, because I am finding it hard to understand what it is that people expected for the price? The only thing I would add, as with all belt scrollers, is online co op, but once again I invite anyone who wants to remote play through it to friend me and I would be all to…

neutral · AI labelView post →It's finally here. The game is really very good. The graphics, so criticized, have their charm. The new arrangement of music and sound, does the job. The title is very playable and atmospheric. And most importantly, it's a version based on the original Asian game, which is uncensored. And the price, that's a big plus in general👍 It's not the overhyped SofR 4, and even less the amateur openbor versions👎 I recommend playing it, not listening to "experts", and checking it out for yourself🦇👊🩸
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tonight's beat em up was Night Slashers, the game that dares answer the question: "Sure Castlevania is cool, but what if I could suplex everyone??"
positive · AI labelView post →A remake that plays far worse than the original.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Night Jankers... There is something very janky with the animations, especially when bouncing and knockback are involved making the whole thing looks like a bad flash game at times. Enemies have also problems and sometimes freeze, hitboxes are all over the place too. Gore is toned down compared to the original arcade game (for instance you can't butcher the human executioners). This new version does not have much to offer apart arguably improved graphics and a new character. Having played all…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aside from a new look and some uninteresting bonus features, this beat'em up retains classic gameplay and a challenging difficulty. Since the original game was released roughly 30 years ago, during the era of well-known classic beat-em-ups, most people have either never played it or simply ignored it. It was once noted for its campy horror theme, and it has now returned in a modernized form. The story remains the same. It is fairly simple, with a world overrun by horror monsters such as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Retro beat 'em up + bosses + 4 playable characters = Horror themed monster bashing. Play solo or up to 4 locally. Use special moves and throwing to help take down OP bosses. Controller friendly. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/] Follow our curator for similar games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🌃 Well, this is a cheap remaster of a fairly niche arcade game, that was obvious. It's definitely not a remake, as the visual were simply changed to "animated 3D" (not that bad), another character was added, the soundtrack was re-arranged, and for some reason only some of the cutscenes were redrawn. It plays literally like the old arcade titles – clunky, with poor hitboxes / mixed balance, but there are still some weird mechanics that make the whole thing a broken, but fun experience. The…

neutral · AI labelView post →What a great game, it reminded me of the old times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is it a bad game ? yes. Is it a horrible game ? NOT AT ALL. It has nice crunchy sound effects, it has good pacing, it is fun, the graphics grows on you as you play, it's only problem is that it was built on the foundations of a much better game. I got it for less than $3 and it was about right as a price for such a game. Trust me, at least it is better than paying $20 to $40 for others games of the genre that are even worse.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are OpenBOR free games more polished, balanced and responsive than this crap. Only worth on sale if you run out of other beat'em up games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was thankful to have this arcade classic got an attention it deserved it was fun but this remake is more of a demake. The moment I played the demo it was awful but not in a bad way it's just not good enough to satisfy my craving. Awful visuals, soundtrack, and voice acting, the original was better. They should have stick with the pixel art or at least make the original playable as an extra feature, even looking at the UI I know it lacks something. What a waste.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really good, it can surprise you when you least expect it. Great fun while playing. A simple and casual Beat'em up game. Like good old slot machine games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is more of a remaster than a "remake", so don't expect an "Street of Rage 4" experience. Having said that, it plays about well a the original arcade IMO, My only real critism i have is the lack of features and game modes and while the remade spites are pretty decent some them look a bit "uncanny" on the default setting, fortunately the pixelated "retro" filter helps to remedy this issue, so that helps. I also helps that the game is relatively cheap on Steam (especially on a sale) so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always support almost any kind of beat em up revival, so I had to get this. I never played the original at the arcades, so I have no nostalgia going on here. That said, I wish they had included the original version here. The graphics of this remake go for thick black lines that cause you to get confused as to when you are actually in line with the enemies, so many times they will keep sliping right through while you keep mashing the controler. The game can also go from stupidly easy to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is basically the original Data East arcade game from 1993 but with updated graphics to look more comic book-like, adding one new playable character so it supports 4-player multiplayer, and completely overdoing it on the blood & gore for the sake of overdoing it (the arcade original actually had greenish-turquoise-colored blood though). And unnecessarily cheesy voices that quickly get repetitive. They also took a 3-button game and made it 4 buttons just because. Finally, this game is much…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Night Slashers: Remake pros: //fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on //good amount of action and special effects cons: //some difficult battles/boss battles //some overpowered enemies //could use more weapons and health items //sometimes too many enemies fill the screen and make it difficult to evade //blocking doesn't work until you have low health //power moves cost health //sometimes a bug prevents you from picking up weapons…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is awesome fun and great to play but would be better to play with others
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arcade Obscura Question: When I was in Japan in 95-96, I remember playing some random Darkstalkers clone at the arcade in Kasugai. I believe it was either Chinese or Korean. Definitely not a Vampire/DS series game, and definitely not Night Slashers. Any ideas what game this might be?
neutral · AI labelView post →one of my favourite arcade games of all time.. i like the updated graphics but the only issue i really have is the game pacing is really slow compared to the original.. adding more levels and the option of online co-op. even if they added some data east cameos (like turrican or bad dudes for example) which would be a nice nod to data east for realising some of the most coin dropping games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really cool 80's slasher action horror beat em up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can't customize buttons in this game. The percussion in the game is very poor, and the movement is very strange.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool, fresh-looking beat'em'up. A nice reference to Night Slashers from the '90s. I'm glad Liu Feilin was added; she fits perfectly with the other characters. I have a lot of fun when I play this remake.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think there's a fairly sizable amount of people that are more familiar with the OpenBOR version of this game than the original Arcade game. That being said, as a remake of the original arcade experience, it is quite faithful. The remixed soundtrack is particularly good. The art direction I am less fond of. Some of the original pixel art is retained (for some reason) for bits of the intro sequence and for the ending (including drawing the new character in pixel form). It's a peak at what…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to keep adding more items as I think of them in case others might be interested in this type of game. There's a free game on steam called [Nightmare Kart](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2930160/Nightmare_Kart/) which started out as a Bloodborne Mario Kart but the developer was getting too much attention so he removed all the explicit Bloodborne references that might get him sued and released the game as a vaguely Bloodborne-ish kart racing game. It features PS1 style graphics.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Fun Modern Take on a Horror Beat ’Em Up Night Slashers Remake succeeds in bringing one of the most underrated arcade beat ’em ups to a new generation. The core gameplay is still incredibly fun, and the remake adds enough new features to keep both newcomers and longtime fans entertained. The 4-player co-op is easily one of the best additions. Fighting through hordes of monsters with four players is absolute chaos in the best way possible, making every stage feel more exciting and encouraging…

positive · AI labelView post →Game 43. Night Slashers Remake Decent beat em up, short but fun.......not much more to say about this really. #Backlog2025 #GamesCompleted2025
neutral · AI labelView post →Not the best remake (as others have stated, there's quite a bit of wonky behaviour in game mechanics that weren't present in the original arcade) but still absolutely worth a playthrough for people looking for a decent beat 'em up to play with friends. More so if you catch it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a decent beat'em up game. But some magic of the original has been lost in this conversion, at least in my humble opinion. It did not maintain my attention for long. Buy it in a sale or if you really, really enjoy remaked beat'em ups then maybe give it a go.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →MY 6-y.o. DID NOT LIKE IT My 6 yo kid and I loved to play the SoR 4, and since it is around Halloween and he likes scary stuff, I thought he would also like a SoR-like game with scary opponenets. No, he did not like the game at all. Which was a relief from me, becasue I did not enjoy the game either, even though on paper it looked perfect (beat-them-up with scary opponents). We went back to SoR 4.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →120th game of 2024: Night Slashers Remake (Switch) It's mostly the same as the original (maybe a bit faster and easier) but...this will sound cliché, but the grotesquerie on display doesn't hit the same with the shiny smooth new graphics as it does with the old pixel art.
neutral · AI labelView post →The remake of Night Slashers quietly dropped on Nintendo Switch, and I’m excited to try it. The original arcade game is a real hidden gem. neutral · AI labelView post →If you liked the original Night Slashers then you should like this one. Same exact game just with hand drawing graphics and updated music tracks, which to be honest I like. The game is called Remake, the only thing new beside the graphics and music are the cut scenes between stages and different characters colors plus one new character. If you expecting better gameplay, faster, more combos then you'll be disappointed, it isnt Streets of Rage 4 neither Shredder's Revenge, the game is old…

I've played beat 'em ups for the better part of the last 30 years so the genre is fairly familiar to me. Now, on to what I thought of the game. It was really fun. The comic book style (kind of cell shaded graphics with a filter) works really well and the gory animations are a grim joy to watch. The characters feel different enough, the special moves and combos are fun to execute once you…

My reviews typically contain spoilers so just a heads up. This team of Hero'Xs or Team-X consist of two males and two females. The game starts with the line of "The world has been overun by zombies, mutants...and monsters. So these four team up and try to do something about it. The blonde haired dude Jake would essentially be Simon Belmont.…

If it is on sale, grab it. It'll keep you interested for 30 - 60 minutes. Don't buy this game at full price. It is not worth the expense.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Night Slashers: Remake is a bold attempt to resurrect a cult-classic arcade beat ’em up and reintroduce it to a modern audience without stripping away its outrageous personality. Developed by Storm Trident S.A. and published by Forever Entertainment S.A., this remake draws heavily from the 1993 original, preserving its horror-inspired identity while updating the presentation and structure for contemporary platforms. The result is a game that wears its arcade roots proudly, embracing excess,…
