I really REALLY want to love this game. But there is so many issues with it. Right now it feels like a walking simulator with useless cutscene each 2 minutes. The characters keep talking to each other, which prevent interaction with things like the save pillars. The combat are basically click the same attack again and again, no depth at all. The game wants to to explore, but the running speed is incredibly slow. And …

Really great world and tons of fan service, but the combat is just so dull and easy that it really struggles to keep you engaged. There's definitely a lot to love, but when the core gameplay is so badly done, it makes the game really hard to enjoy.

Read this before you buy – it's not for everyone If you're thinking about buying One Piece Odyssey, please read this first – especially if you're used to action-RPGs or western-style games. This is not a bad game, but it's definitely not for everyone. I'm a big fan of the One Piece anime (completely up to date), and that’s honestly the only reason I kept playing. The world, characters, and voice acting are full of …

If you're not a One Piece fan, the gameplay alone isn't good enough to make this game worth playing. If you're a One Piece fan and want to explore locations from the anime/manga, relive the Straw Hats' earlier adventures, and use the abilities of One Piece characters in combat, then go ahead and buy it. The game's story takes place somewhere between Whole Cake Island and Wano, and the story itself is about on par …

Only recommended with difficulty mod created by Narknon, otherwise the game is really easy and boring but still thumbs up since with the mod the games becomes a good jrpg and its ONE PIECE!!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is basically an interactive clip show with some extra lore bits sprinkled here and there. If you like One Piece, you'll enjoy the faithfulness it presents to the story so far. However, the game has a problem where the enemies are sponges, and the game tries to keep you from progressing as much as possible. Especially when it limits your ability to purchase materials to cook/etc. from NPC Shops. Camera can also be a bit problematic when you transition into certain parts of the maps. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like one piece and you like turn based strategy games then you'll like this. Has a rock, paper, scissors system and will always let you know when an attack is weak or more resistant depending on the enemy. After playing claire obscur, this is definitely easier in terms of combat, also each character has attributes similar to the show so if you've watched it then you'll know who you need for what in the environment. Oda created a cool story that revisits the past but gives it a nice…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, One Piece Odyssey is not one of those games where stat boosting clothing changes the character model. #onepiece #sanji
negative · AI labelView post →I will never forget that when I was playing One Piece Odyssey, I thought Crocodile was an actually Crocodile. My community just stayed quit and laughed at me as per usual One day I’ll actually watch One Piece but the game was amazing 😂
positive · AI labelView post →Overall nice visuals, fun dialogue with an interesting way to go back through the first arcs of One Piece with an extra bit tying it all together. If you love One Piece like i do it's worth playing, but I'd wait for a sale like I did. Pros -Graphics were solid -Turn based was interesting (I like classic style rpg's though) -Cool locations with easy/medium puzzles (well mostly easy) -Fast travel was good and made exploring feel worthwhile when fast travel was actually available..... ... .. .…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chapter 1 being short is expected — it’s a tutorial. Chapter 2 (Alabasta) is where One Piece Odyssey really shines, with exploration, puzzles, and a sense of adventure. Unfortunately, most later chapters never reach that same level of content or scope, relying instead on shorter, more linear sections and gimmick-heavy boss fights. If the rest of the game matched Alabasta’s depth, this would’ve been an easy full-price recommendation. Although I still must say I did enjoy it and found it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ONE PIECE ODYSSEY takes the colorful personality and adventurous spirit of the long-running series and reshapes it into a traditional turn-based JRPG. Developed by ILCA, Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., the game places considerably more emphasis on party management, exploration, storytelling, and tactical battles than the action-oriented combat found in many other One Piece adaptations. It is clearly designed as a celebration of the Straw Hat Crew, combining an original…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played a ton of turn based RPGs, but this one makes me want to get into them! The visuals are stunning and being able to explore my favorite One Piece locations is my favorite pass time. The only real downside of the game is a lack of skins and not a ton to do once you finish the main story. There is a DLC that adds a little extra story content, but it is very short lived and just take you back to the initial issue. That aside this is easily a 8/10 game and I can definitely recommend…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game made me want to pull my hair out, EVERYTHING is padded for time it even stalls you from picking up collectible items. i paid 3 cents for this and i still wouldn't recommend it at that price. go play world seeker instead :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chapter 1 was great and seemed like the game would have a lot of potential, but everything goes downhill from there. Afterwards, enemies become tanky sponges and the overworld traversal devolves into constantly backtracking for menial reasons. Everything becomes unnecessarily tedious once you get to Alabasta and has ruined all motivation for continuing the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I kinda wish I hadn't bought it at almost 50 Euros. But it was a present for my gf who loves one piece and only limited knowledge of video games. She is having a lot of fun with it. I would say this is a run of the mill JRPG with some really good boob physics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →too much rail roading. literally landed at the dock, had to go to the far of the map, to talk to someone, who had a fetch quest, which sent me back to.... the docks i just came from. then deliver it to him, back at the other end of the map. if you got too far off the intended path, the game would quite literally stop you, and turn you back around. heavens forbid i want to explore the areas. on to chapter 3 i guess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →some of these boss fights and general power scaling are completely ridiculous. final boss gauntlet before the final final boss, i beat the first duo no problem, second duo a little harder but still no problem and the final trio just dog walks me like nothing, thats terrible game design. not to mention that the random animals in the open world scale with the game so a random mouse and penguin enemy are yonko level in the late game, that becomes extremely unfun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm probably going to finish the whole game anyway, but twelve hours in, I can tell you that it definitely isn't as good as World Seeker. This whole game, compared to that one, makes me feel trapped and hemmed in. Feels like it's pretending to be an open world, but it definitely isn't one. It constantly holds your hand and doesn't have very much freedom, especially not in it's exploration. And it's kind of boring, since it's technically an 'original' storyline, but it's just making you re-live…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this, and the videos looked really good, but when the game loaded up into Japanese audio with subtitles and the settings had no English option, I was disappointed. I tried to play but in the first few minutes, the characters all started talking to each other during game play and its impossible to keep up with reading all that while the game is running as well. Im dyslexic, I cant read fast enough to keep up with auto advancing subtitles as it is, without having to watch…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty solid for anime game. One Piece and JRPGs are like my two favorite things, so if you're like me you'll like this game. I will admit though, the combat is way too easy, the pacing sucks ass sometimes and there's way too much backtracking, and the combat does get a bit repetitive HOWEVER, with a higher difficulty mod and increased running speed mod, the game is WAY better, great actually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a OK game, if you're a fan of One Piece you will like it. The story is decent, combat is turned based, fun but a bit repetitive. The most annoying thing i would say is the constant running around, you spend more time running in the game then in combat. For a One piece fan like myself, would give it a 6/10. Worth to get it on a discount
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this a while back and decided to give it another shot. I love One Piece but this game is just way too easy and boring. The story is lackluster. It just feels like a quick cash grab knock off of DQ11
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've liked the combat & the story very much. Worth to try it out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is purely for fans of the franchise and even then it has a lot of small cons that make the overall package tedious, I only recommend it to those who enjoy One Piece & Turn Based RPG's but even then it may be too much. Breakdown One Piece Odyssey is a turn based RPG that has you revisit the pre-timeskip locations & stories of the source material in alternate history retellings. It's a great way for fans to re-experience Alabasta & Water 7, especially when it provides insight into the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before everything, I have really tried to finish the game but... It got the better of me and I couldn't finish it. This review has been written throughout my entire playthrough, so I can give you my opinion about the game as a whole, as far as I can tell. This game is made for casual players and One Piece fans. It's not hard at all; the game never really challenges you and gives you all the information you need at every step. In other words, the game holds your hand the entire time. As for the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some more One Piece Odyssey. There is a great game in here, it's just shackled by odd design decisions. Example: Most of the game consists of 4 memories of old arcs you revisit. But the 2nd and 4th memory is only half the length of the 1st (which feels padded), and the 3rd is half of that again.
neutral · AI labelView post →Loads to explore, side missions galore, fun for hours and hours plus the original story by Oda really seals the deal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth mentioning that the official website for this game shows ILCA's logo. They worked on (in varying capacities) Dragon Quest XI, One Piece Odyssey, Sand Land, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl. Also some Ace Combat.
neutral · AI labelView post →honestly you don't even gotta like One Piece to play this, recommend this to a Persona fan and i'm sure they'll bite.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this but it just was not it maybe eventually they will make a good one piece game....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game looks great but its soo boring and straighforward. Rpg's are fun but this is just too easy like if it was made for a dumb braindead monkey.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game doesn't even feel like a game, I like the story and stuff but there's a cutscene almost constently and the fighting doesn't feel right as a turn base system. it would be better if the characters models actually matched up with what they were saying or less cut scenes and walking. the only ways I feel they could improve the game is if they switched it to a battle system like the unlimited adventure for the Wii or reduced the cut scenes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stream was very good gettin' more done in Time Stranger when I feel I have barely touched the surface of this game We sent the Clefairy Clan with Big Bear Hugs to @briguytheshyguy.bsky.social who was playin' One Piece Odyssey #digimon #digimontimestranger #digimonstory
neutral · AI labelView post →I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality, except the difficulty who's way too low to be enjoyable. The game starts with the crew already strong and they get their powers removed and they have to re-experience their past with some twists to recover their powers. I would've prefered the characters to be in their original arc's attires for immersion but I think they can be obtained in the "deluxe edition" or DLC. I highly recommend you to go on nexusmods and get the difficulty…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the most boring games I have ever played. And i am a true fan of one piece and lover of turn based games.I coudnt even finish 1 hour of gameplay, it feels so empty, like its made for kids. You just go straight. It seems like everything has no point. Insane
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🟨 One Piece Odyssey – A nostalgic love letter with pacing issues One Piece Odyssey feels like a game made by fans, for fans. It leans heavily into nostalgia, revisiting iconic arcs and characters while mixing JRPG mechanics that feel inspired by Digimon Cyber Sleuth and Kingdom Hearts mostly in good ways. While the core experience is enjoyable and respectful to the source material, uneven pacing and restrictive design choices stop it from reaching its full potential. A genuinely enjoyable…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this game would be like NARUTO NINJA STROM or SPIDERMAN, but it turns out its more like playing pokemin!!! the battles arent free or fluid at all kinda regret buying it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hoping they revisit this kinda gameplay style in the future, could be amazing.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is one of the worst things I've ever played. it's turn based mechanics are insanely boring, the animation is dull and it's open world is empty
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Over 500 hours on PS5 and only bought it on steam for the profile background but Unfortunately The base game feels way to easy and unfortunately theres no defence move outside of some abilities so the only way to gain TP is by attacking and imo it makes everyone feel like a Glass Cannon which sucks. I wish i had the ability to see that Usopp is needing help but i cant get over there and only Robin is there so i wish i could make Robin stand infront of Usopp and take the hits for a turn until i…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful gameplay, very slow paced and boring. Super disappointed as I'm a massive one piece fan.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPEEEERRRRRR. Fr tho. If you are already a fan, I'm sure there's enough here to love. Although I grabbed it for like 15 bucks. So for me it was def worth. Ending sucked nuts tho. Antagonist behaviors and attitude didn't make sense, the pacing was kinda messy, and the endgame is a bit of a pain in terms of qol.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best One Piece games on steam and its worth playing 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why I prepurchased this game, but I did. I think I was becoming a proper OP fan around this time, and this was coming out when I was really getting into it so I decided to do so, and boy was I disappointed. I thought the concept of being able to play all the strawhats would be fun, but the 'open world' really doesn't make use of that at all really so that aspect fell a bit flat on its face. I've never really enjoyed turn based combat, so I really didn't like the combat system in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mediocre game with a subpar story. Generally this game just feels really slow. Slow combat, slow movement, slow story pacing. The JRPG format works really well with One Piece, but overall the game was just okay. I'm glad I played it, but I wouldn't recommend it. You might get some enjoyment out of it if you are a huge One Piece fan.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#41 One Piece Odyssey I remember hoping this game wouldn't suck balls and IT DIDN'T WOOHOO I believe some parts were a bit tedious? Could have been the DLC part of it, i don't remember that, sorry
positive · AI labelView post →Looks very nice, but the gameplay cycle is killing me. "run to place a, now run to place b on the opposite side of the map NOW RUN TO PLACE A AGAIN GUESS WHERE YOU HAVE TO RUN TO NEXXXXT" repeat ad infinitum. Don't buy full price, it's worth about 15. Less if you don't really really love One Piece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one day I'll play a One Piece game where they actually designed new outfits for the Straw Hats! One Piece Odyssey is not one of those games.
