OneShift
Developer Mazen Games
OneShift is a puzzle platformer where the player has the ability to freeze/unfreeze time and shift through worlds to collect blue cubes. But only one world can be active at a time. Later in the game, a world rotating mechanic is unveiled, which makes everything more complex! From the Steam store page

Players appreciate the dimension-shifting mechanic and puzzle design. [1][2][3] Some find the controls and physics awkward or frustrating. [4][5][6] The game is often described as a decent free title with mixed polish. [1][4][7]

I think its a fine free game, like something you'd find on coolmathgames. The game isn't very well polished and feels like it was released way too early. The graphical options are confusing and subpar, but the gameplay itself is in my opinion, frustrating for all the wrong reasons. You can die if you make a wrong input, which is easy because you can't adjust yourself mid jump. There's a lot of potential in this …

Cool concept and pretty fun levels, but the performance of the game is awful. Pretty shocking considering how rudimentary the graphics and gameplay systems are. It's tolerable for the beginning levels. For the later levels, where you need to be faster and more precise, the abysmal performance really shines. Every time you jump, pause, rotate, or collect an orb, the game freezes, and this lag then becomes the hardest …

Cool concept by the developer but it's not a mobile game so playing it on pc can feel a bit awkward and might become boring fast. Still, since it’s free, you might as well give it a try. why not?

A one-evening game, but that evening turns out to be an absolute blast ☕️ — everything is presented with great quality, and the gameplay evolves from level to level, adding something new and fun each time. There’s a certain charm of old-school indie projects here, where simplicity meets challenge, and you just sit down for “one cup of coffee” to play, only to realize you’ve already made it halfway through the game …

Really awesome soundtrack, whoever wrote the music was probably having a great time. Other than that, it’s an interesting platformer that relies on its dimension switching mechanic, which works as intended but still feels a little awkward to use.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Atrocious puzzle game. Terrible controls. Horrible performance.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another wasted potential. Sure the game is not bad OVERALL but it's lacking in some aspects (for me at least). Firstly, as some other people said, the movement sometimes feels not that great and I didn't had that much of a problem with it until I played the bonus levels when I sometimes either lose momentum, press the jump button but not registering the action itself or that I couldn't make certain jumps because of the camera angle, even if I would change it. Secondly, there are not that many…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Shift the World, Master the Puzzle: OneShift OneShift takes the classic precision platformer setup and flips it on its head by introducing a clever, dimension-shifting mechanic. Rather than relying solely on pixel-perfect jumps, the game forces you to constantly alter the state of the level around you. Switching between active block sets turns straightforward platforming routes into intricate spatial puzzles. The minimalist art style keeps the focus entirely on level geometry and clarity,…

neutral · AI labelView post →Absolute bullsh*t I thought I’d sit back and relax with a decent puzzle game, but this turned out to be a total nightmare. The execution is just pathetic: Physics are pure vomit: The white blocks feel like they're made of Styrofoam. You barely touch them and they fly a kilometer away. Zero QoL: You have to cycle through multiple time map variants constantly. Most of them could’ve just been combined to make it less tedious, but the game forces you to switch back and forth just to bewilder…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I only recommend this game IF you have patience! I do not. I cussed A LOT! And that says a lot for me since I sprinkle F bombs in all my sentences. But I was already committed and at lv 20 when I realized what I was in for. I completed it 100%! I'm happy bout that and the fact that I can uninstall or hide this game forever. I will say, I don't know if it's a coincidence or what, but I could make jumps with the skeleton that I couldn't with others! I'd recommend using it. And I definitely agree…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1) Starts to feel boring at Lv20 onwards 2) Physics are soooo wonky and glitchy, especially cubes. Sometimes physics let you cheese multiple levels, sometimes they break your game 3) Too many methods to pass the levels, never knew the intended pathway, nor would I even try. I just do whatever I think is fastest and it gets no sense of achievements 4) Levels aren't even hard, mere frustrations on some levels. Mostly repetitive and nothing new for a long time. Could have made the game in half the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs made a decent job, but the controls kinda ruin the game for me. It's a platformer. Bad controls = bad platformer...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not simple puzzle Hard challenges Very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OneShift is a pretty decent physics puzzle game, with lots of depth in spatial awareness and time lapses. As you progress through the levels, new mechanis such as map rotation, object displacements, time mainpulation as well as other mechanics gets added to the challenge of clearing a stage. You unlock more characters as you clear more levels too. To say the goal is to simply reach the blue cube at the end of each level would be an understatement. The graphics are simple 3D shapes, with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like the concept and what this game is idea wise, but execution sucks, the ui is a slogfest and the default keyboard controls shoulda been WASD + arrow keys imo. You will be fighting the movement of the character more than any of the puzzles
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awful. Sure, I got it for free because of a free promotion but I would still not play this ever again. I, as a game developer myself, found a lot of horrible things about this game. First of all, the ISO movement/angle is off by a few degrees, meaning you fall off the edge if you walk straight to the left or the right, which shouldn't happen. Another thing is the horrible camera angles chosen for this game. Sure, I know that ISO view is like that but the lazy developer clearly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A clunky, unfinished game that barely reaches mobile game quality. The camera and controls make it frustrating to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game 100% worth it the music is a little bad and boring but the idea of the game is great and u can play it for hours and thinking about how can i solve this level great game for warming your head up and pretty useful when your talking to someone u don't like and you can entertain urself w it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It just throws achievements at your face with victory jingles after you do any basic move or level. Feels like a deliberate dopamine maximization attempt you'd see in a free mobile game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So mid they had to shove in 100+ achievements into it so that the constant steam notification unlocked noise would distract you from how boring and janky it is
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One Shift is a solid puzzle platformer. It’s not overly difficult, with only a few levels requiring precise jumping but nothing compared to more punishing games, which is fine by me. I don’t enjoy spending hours stuck on a single puzzle, and here, I wasn’t banging my head against the wall in frustration. Towards the end, the challenges ramp up slightly, but still nothing extreme. Some frustration came from judging depth in a top-down view, especially on levels with platforms at different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very interesting game it challenges my mind to figure out where to go i recommend for people who like to challenge themselfs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible controls making it easy to fumble almost all the time. No shadow underneath the character makes it hard to track where you are going. Perspective in certain levels is incredibly difficult to work with, tends to hang up after too long. There are much better platformers out there.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →another free game and another platformer.... the concept is interesting but as you progress the problems with controls become more and more apparent to the point ure keep failing because you cant do certain jump.... and for some reason you have no idea where you land as there is not shadow under you that would serve that purpose as in every normal platformer, jumping on jumping pads were the worst... just no.... hint to developers, if ure making platformers, make sure you actually have good…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OneShift is a puzzle platformer that was given away for free on Steam on November 6, 2025. There are 80 levels (plus 10 bonus levels) where you have to guide your character to a blue box (later there are multiple boxes). To do so, you stop time and shift through different worlds to get blocks you can climb on. Every 10 levels or so, a new mechanic gets introduced that makes the game slightly more interesting. The game looks complicated/difficult at first, but it really isn't. There are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a whole, I don't hate the game persay. I just think the title is overpriced for what it is. The game feels akin to a webgame that you would play for free with ads, rather than a $5 Steam Game you can complete in two-three hours realistically. While it isn't too broken [say for a bug where restarting a level while in Shift Mode breaks the music], it isn't mechanically complex, and generally the solutions tend to be overly simple in the first third of the game. At the same price, you can get…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has solid potential for a fun puzzle game, but the physics feel off like what others have said. It's difficult to predict where exactly you're going to land when jumping, which isn't helped by the camera angles. You also have to get a running start from a distance to move when jumping. There's also occasional framerate drops even when nothing else is running in the background. If that and the jumping mechanics were fixed, it would be so much easier to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's better than Call of Duty: Ghosts.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love these types of games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is short and simple, landing at roughly 4 hours and over 80 levels. The mechanics are quite basic and easy to learn, like a high quality mobile game. Ah yes... as a mobile game, perharps this would be quite good, but on pc it feels somewhat underwhelming. That's not to say the game is bad, I'd still give it a recommendation based on its short duration. However don't go in expecting anything more than a fun and simple mobile game worth of gameplay and content. Also, some of the last few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, it was free and it is fairly easy to 100% in under 5h. So yeah I can recomment it, even though I didn't like the controls super much. It has some charm, but some levels are a bit annoying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a cool creative concept for a game ngl
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad game, it's all just a bit dull and uninspiring
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept but gets boring by level 20 ish The controls are janky I will recommend as I had a good time for what I played but if you are looking for something great, don't bother.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple but creative puzzle experience with some unexpected platforming elements. Gameplay is pretty straightforward. Your objective is to reach the blue cube by stopping time and shifting between a set of different worlds specific to each level. New interactions are introduced constantly, keeping the player engaged. Platforming is used mostly when jumping from platform to platform, changing worlds while in the air with the time stopped and requiring precise timing. Player movement is not the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →80 level was kind of disappointing, but bonus levels are really fun, in general, if you have nothing to do, it's good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →got it for free, the menu navigation feels weird with controller but in game its fine and the puzzles are fun so far (have only finished the first 39 so just under half)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible Physics in a game with a nice twist and ideas. Just not polished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: 4/10 Art: Acceptable but overly simplistic. Music: Poor. Story: None. There’s no narrative or thematic context to give meaning to the gameplay. Gameplay: Average and unremarkable. The main mechanic — switching planes to solve puzzles — has potential but is executed clumsily. Having to pause time before changing the plane adds unnecessary friction and slows down the pacing, making the experience feel more tedious than challenging. Accessibility: None.
