Players praise the combat as incredibly satisfying and empowering, with impactful abilities and smooth gunplay. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game was buggy at launch and has always-online requirements that cause disconnections. [4][5][6] Many feel Outriders is an underrated gem that delivers a fun looter-shooter experience, especially at a low price. [7][8][9]

The developers greed means that what would’ve been an awesome singleplayer game with multiplayer components became a game you cant play for long without getting disconnected several times. ALWAYS ONLINE SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGNS? Shame on you!!!

Haven't touched this game in years but I saw the horrible reviews and just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. Yes, it was pretty buggy, and yes, they had some growing pains. But I have never played a looter shooter before or after this game that made you feel like such an incredible badass. The story was interesting and brutal, and very sci-fi with the classic "the true monster is us" twist. But what really made this …

I bought this game when it first came out and I’ve been around since the early days. I’ve got all classes at max level, and I’m still working on the Ascension points and the Apocalypse climb to level 40 for characters. I honestly don’t understand the hate this game gets. The combat is fantastic. Outriders pushes you to play aggressively instead of hiding behind cover like a traditional shooter. Once your build …

**👍 Recommended** 10/10. Outriders is honestly one of the most underrated games on Steam. The combat is incredibly satisfying, every class feels powerful, and the ability combinations make every fight exciting. The loot system keeps you coming back for "just one more mission," and creating different builds is addictive. Unlike a lot of modern looter shooters, this game respects your time and focuses on being fun. …

Mack Ashworth from GameRevolution gave the game a 7.5/10, criticizing the story and characters, although praising the gameplay, level design, visuals, and combat animations, as well as the fact the game felt complete upon launch. In summary, he wrote that "it doesn't innovate in any huge way and its many flaws are tough to ignore, but Outriders is a blast from a simpler past". Destructoid gave the game a 7/10, also praising it for being a complete game at full price and wrote, "Solid and definitely has an audience. There…

60 of 383 · most liked firstI remember the discussion around Outriders being mixed at release - but coming to it now, I’m REALLY clicking with the world and game feel. Surprisingly ambitious storytelling ideas happening around colonies and new worlds too! Damn shame this got caught up in the live-service looter shooter wars.

That’s my rule. don't judge me hehe* But for once, I ignored my own system and trusted a friend who kept telling me to try Outriders. I was skeptical. The reviews are all over the place. Some people love it, some absolutely trash it. I expected something mid at best. WTF. This game is so damn good. If you judge it by “RPG, looter-shooter, solid gameplay loop & decent story” standards,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eastern companies are just as capable of this bullshit, do you remember how Square Enix screwed over People Can Fly? Where payout for Outriders was dependent on retail sales, and then the game was day-1 on Game Pass? Don't dare paint lines around geographical location for companies being assholes.
neutral · AI labelView post →A great storyline, good voice acting, good looking graphics, lots of enemy types and plenty of variety when it comes to locations. And then there's endgame content. Expeditions (like dungeons) give you materials (to upgrade gear) and legendary weapon. Though it can be a bit grindy but I still like it. Some bugs, like map quest markers not working sometimes or showing the wrong direction, but overall it's pretty bug-free. Gameplay : 9/10 Graphics : 9/10 Performance/ optimization : 10/10 The…

neutral · AI labelView post →Outriders is the platonic ideal of a 7/10-8/10 game and I mean that so affectionately. I mean that in the "it's not for everyone, but if it's for you then it is FOR YOU" sense. And it's only $10, so why not find out if it's for you RIGHT NOW
positive · AI labelView post →Oof. Big layoffs at People Can Fly, too. I still reckon that Outriders was a heavily underrated game. The story had a real rough start, and it was marketed as a LIVE SERVICE FOREVER GAME despite being a surprisingly focused and linear shooter, but it put a fun spin on Gears Of War'ing.

neutral · AI labelView post →Not as bad as the mainstream make it. Silly, fun and good combat. Builds are also wide enough to make different playstyles viable. If you don't take gaming too seriously, this might be for you. Sometimes it is ok to play through a campaign and leave the game to be. Not every game needs endless grinding etc. 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Outriders... where do I even begin. This game saved me. Not in the subtle, “oh that was a fun distraction on a rainy afternoon” kind of way. No. I mean spiritually. Cosmically. I was one mildly inconvenient Tuesday away from dramatically staring out a window while it rained for no reason. And then I booted up Outriders, developed by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix, and suddenly I had purpose. I had loot. I had shoulder-mounted apocalyptic drip. Let’s talk about the premise.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked Outriders. Playing through the game again is fun. It’s def not a 10/10 or anything but I love RPG loot games. The power are fun and the loot is good. I hope when I get back to the end game it’s even better with the expansion.
positive · AI labelView post →Disconnected twice from game server in first 45 minutes. Game kicks you out even though this is single player campaign when that happens. Keep you always online requirement out of single player experiences.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Though recommended requirements state: Intel i7-7700K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600X for a 1080P / 60 FPS experience I'm playing this on a 2009 I7-920 @1080P / 60 FPS. Admittedly I'm using Lossless Scaling which most think of as a GPU utility though can significantly reduce CPU load as well. I acquired the game through a Humble Bundle 1st tier @$10 and given the four really good games in that tier, my mathematical enriched brain calculates my Outriders purchase to a whooping $2.50. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the base game to the very end. got all legendary sets for my technomancer, tested every single build i could think of, replayed the story with a friend. got to tier 15 apocalypse and finished the final boss. Most of the stuff in the base game just straight up doesn't work and is completely jank and broken. The story falls off half way through the game where the budget seemed to drop of the face of the world. Wouldn't recommend wasting time or money on this game unless it is very cheap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since you enjoyed BG3, I'd strongly recommend Divinity: Original Sin 1&2 if you have not played them already. Other than that, a few random suggestions with sizeable coop campaigns: - Outriders - The Ascent - Remnant 1&2 - Resident Evil 5&6 - Saints Row 3&4 - Trine 1-5 - Valheim
neutral · AI labelView post →Destiny Creator makes a video about playing "dead" looter shooters, picks Outriders. Outriders is/was not a live service game. It was more akin to Borderlands. Play through and be done, or go back through for the loot you want. Source: Me - I worked on it
positive · AI labelView post →This is one of, if not the most, fun shooter I have ever played. The amount of negative reviews on it just shocks me. I can only assume that it must have been released in a bad state and got review bombed, which is a shame because I would buy anything released for this. Have played through the main story and end game 12 times between Steam version and xbox pc version, about to start new runs on xbox console version. Story is good with interesting characters but the build and itemization is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For real, it was legitimately a fun game. I still love the Interceptor. I should redownload it and take some pics before the servers die. I have the same feelings toward Outriders. It's fun, it has an interesting premise and serviceable story, and the player character is a cocky bitch (or son of one) who *knows* they're the main character in the best possible way
positive · AI labelView post →Game is finished at this point. Just finished BIg Iron in the Desolate Fort and found out all tp points on that map are broken and were never fixed. Devs have dropped the project so they will remain forever broken like many other things in the game. i really want to like the game but the polish is not there at all sadly.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent story. Decent 3rd person cover shooter. Matchmaking works. Fun playing with randos. Simple enough. You get loot, equip the ones with big green numbers, sell the ones with small red numbers. I'm enjoying it. Sometimes you can't find a team or it takes ages. Matchmaking sometimes matches you with idle/AFK players.

And if the rest of the game was as good as them, i would happily recommend this game. But it suffers several problems that make it so i can't recommend it. First and foremost, the constant loading zones and mini cutscenes. The game has to load every single area every single time you go to a new room. Its like playing monster hunter 3 all over…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had this game for around 5 years just sitting in my steam library, and I thought you know what I'll give it a try...and I've gotta say it's a pretty good game. The gun play is nice, similar to gears of war, with the option to play higher difficulties for better loot and a decent enough skill/class system to keep you invested. I went with pyromancer, and it is very satisfying lighting up the battlefield in flames while shooting down your enemies. I'm not finished the game just yet, but…

neutral · AI labelView post →Game is actually rather good. It reminds me of The Division but with magic and fantasy. I'm glad I purchased it, was too cheap not to. Maybe it was bad at launch but I wasn't here for that, I'm here for it now and it's good fun. The shooting and cover mechanics are as good as The Division but the added powers give this game an edge in that department for me. Love it so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**Outriders Review (Negative – Story Ruined It for Me)** The gameplay in *Outriders* is actually a lot of fun. At its core it’s a hack-and-slash style shooter with powers, gadgets, and a bunch of flashy abilities. The combat loop is satisfying and fast-paced, and if you’re the type of player who enjoys constant fighting and mowing down enemies, the game definitely delivers. There’s pretty much always something to shoot, explode, or smash, and the abilities make combat feel chaotic in a good…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OUTRIDERS is a great looter shooter with dynamic combat and very satisfying gunplay. The game features cool, well-designed locations and a mature, heavy sci-fi atmosphere that matches its darker story. The campaign is the biggest highlight - even solo it can be really engaging. And if you can grab it on sale for $7.99, it’s a no-brainer, even just for the story alone. Highly recommended! ❤️ === PL === OUTRIDERS to świetny looter shooter z dynamiczną walką i bardzo przyjemnym feelingiem…

I cant request a refund because I have played 18 hours. there are missions that I cant complete because for some sort of bug issue or the game is just broken. I cant recommend this game to play even though I really want to. save yourself some time and money. I don't think that and updates to the game will happen the last update was in 2022. The story is good, the cinematics are good, the gunplay/abilities are good, the looting feels good. It's fairly linear but lots to do in the story. Obviously haven't gotten to the end game yet but the game has me hooked and I definitely can see myself pouring a lot of hours into this. I would definitely say for the price…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing exclusively on my Steam Deck for nearly 100 hours, most of which has been solo. It's been an absolutely blast. The gameplay is solid, the looter shooter aspect is even better than Borderlands in my opinion with far more build variety even though you only have 4 classes to choose from. The main story was surprisingly really good, except for one thing near the end that was a B.S. handwave explanation, and the World Tier system is one of the best scaling systems I've experienced. I…
