The game itself is pretty good, but the steam port is terrible. It will constantly crash during cutscenes, so if you don't save every chance you get, you will lose so much progress. The crashes turned what was a pretty fun game, with a interesting story into, a chore to play.

P5S's novelty as both a genre-swap and a post-credits reunion of the original game's characters makes it difficult to ignore after having really enjoyed P5. Sadly, P5S fails to deliver a captivating story or sustainable gameplay. Having a one-hundred-hour-RPG's worth of prior gameplay, narrative context, and character growth by which to judge a canon spin-off means that discrepancies in the quality of the writing, …

Went into this expecting just another Persona 5 spin-off… and wow, I was completely wrong. This is a direct sequel to Persona 5, not a throwaway side game. Fresh takes/approach for a Persona game. The gameplay mechanics is more like Musou or Dynasty Warriors-like with persona skills on top (rather than Turn-based combat like mainline Persona games.) And still have a Persona and their respective skills that you can use in the midst of battles. Minus no social-sims mechanic or Confidants. For a lore wise sake, play Persona 5 Royal first before this one. The story in this game takes place a couple of months after Persona 5 ended. The story is good.…

To be honest, before this game I had never really played any Musou games, and at first the experience was quite unpleasant. However, since this is a Persona 5 game, I decided to stick with it, and after about five hours I actually started to enjoy the gameplay. In a way, I even began to understand why people like this genre and get enjoyment out of it (though I would still prefer traditional JRPG-style combat). Overall, the story is good, the new characters are likable, and the music is, as…

This is actually a piece of art, just like Persona 5 Royal. I entered this game thinking it's just a money grab. but boy was I wrong, Atlus delivered. Pros : 1. The story is super rich and continues off Royal perfectly (outstanding game of it's own). 2. The combat system is amazing, I love how they switched from turn-based to something like that, now fights never get repetitive and boss fights become insanely more fun. 3. The replay ability, I lost my savefile THREE times and I started…

Koei Tecmo had a hand in developing this PC port. If you've played any of their own games, you should be well aware of how awful they are in terms of performance, and this game's no different. I'm going to keep playing this game (through all the freezing and crashing) and I'm going to enjoy it, but I can't recommend this game to anyone. If you really liked Persona 5 and don't mind going through hell to experience an inconsequential filler-ish extra story just to see the characters again, go…

Pretty easily the best hack and slash game I have played. Great music, and story. Combat was fun to me, but I can imagine others not enjoying it as much. The movement is so stylish and it flows really well with the music in combat. I absolutely love this game, and will for sure go for the 100%. I really recommend it if you enjoyed Persona 5. Just go in knowing that you won't be playing a turn based JRPG. If you think the fast paced combat could be hard to keep up with, when you summon your…

An Okay Sequel With Great Romanticization of a Friendship I won't deny myself that Persona 5 Royal is the best first impression Persona game for new audience. The game offers well-rounded gameplay with good combat, fun exploration, puzzles, great stories, great writings, great plot-twist, many emotional moments, and the most important one, the best friendship. When I say best friendship, unlike the other Persona games I played, there aren't any perverted out-of-character gigs they pulled…

For what its worth, this is just Atlus's take on Dynasty Warriors, and a good one at that in my opinion. They actually made merciless hard instead of whatever they were thinking in P5R. Story's alright, combat's alright, everything you expect to be here in a persona game is. This being said, this game is SUPER unoptimized (to the point of where it black screens when trying to boot) on PC if you try to play windowed or mess around with the settings too much (on Windows), and to get it working…

This game made me realise how much I appreciate Persona 5 and it's characters more, then I wish to admit - another dozens of good hours spend in company of "Phantom Thiefs" again. Had a blast with story, new cast of characters (especially new Thiefs), UI style and, of course, music - new remixes of iconic tracks in rock-style + new hits went right into my OST playlist. One thing, that was not so satisfying is combat - I don't mind some musou-like action, but this game has strange difficulty…

The perfect sequel to Persona 5. This game brings back everything I loved about Persona 5 Royal while changing the gameplay to make them a lot easier to play back to back without getting burnt out. The music is amazing as always. A shockingly good sequel to Persona 5 that got pushed aside by most people due to the controversial decision of keeping Persona 5 exclusive to Playstation at the time it was released. Stylish art and iconic music create a stunning aesthetic, but they mask a shallow gameplay core. The repetitive combat and soulless dungeons feel more like a chore than a challenge. It works better as an interactive visual novel or a 12-episode anime than as a 40-hour game. Style is not a substitute for substance.

TLDR: Direct continuation of P5's (not P5R) story Solid writing with a great host of new characters No romance or individual companion ranks but a group bond system. Downtime/hangout days are much more limited and linear (though the moments you do get are very nice). Very fun core gameplay loop overall. Runs perfectly, no frame drops, crashes, or bugs to be seen. The meeting of Persona 5 and Dynasty Warriors should have been a slam dunk, but my experience with Persona 5 Strikers has been disappointing, with my initial excitement wearing off very quickly. The dungeon progression is largely the same between levels, most of the characters being unlocked from the start means there's nothing new to look forward to, and while the story is good it becomes extremely predictable. Well this was...different. I expected a spin-off and this turned out to be a continuation of the P5R's story, although it functions more as a "reunion" it picks up where the main game left off. On the gameplay side P5S is different as in it is not a turn based game, rather it has a real time with pause system in it, which is more action oriented and allows for some spectacular fight scenes (if you manage to see anything from all the on screen effects). Stylsih graphics, excellent music - Atlus really knows how to present their wares. But after 3 hours I had to switch this thing off. The endless dialogue to click through to move through the story, the bombardment of tutorials which interrupt the flow of gameplay and perhaps (most egregious) the information overload in the hack and slash combat. I'm not a huge fan of Warriors games, but Strikers translates that genre with Persona's elements exceptionally well. Art, music and theme is on point as always. The monarchs' themes are fun as heck! The addition of Zenkichi and Ichinose is really good imo. That one stealth mission with Zenkichi is super fun, and having a straight forward and stoic adult in the team is a huge breath of fresh air since it really highlights how the Phantom Thieves are much more powerful from normal people [and…

Run-of-the-Mill, Unnecessary Spin-Off Despite the developers' best efforts to transfer turn-based combat into the action genre, I found the game to be fundamentally flawed. The Character System Is Bad The main problem is that not only does the game have 9 playable characters, but most of them are pretty much just handed to you without much ceremony. So you pretty much blindly pick Joker and 3 other people for your party, and after that, you have pretty much no incentive to switch them out.…

lazy cashgrab with the persona 5 name stuck on top without the soul of the original game (mind you that p5r is probably my favorite game oat)

【ENGLISH VERSION】 Straight up: I don't recommend buying this. Just watch a playthrough. Linear story game—watching is enough. Don't waste your money. Non-hardcore Persona fan here—disappointed and mad. Nowhere near P5/P5R. Not even close. Biggest issue: no story/animation gallery like P4G/P5R. Feels gutted. Controller controls awful—vent movement sluggish; scenery blocks view in combat, especially All-Out Attacks (can't adjust camera); lock-on so bad it's better not to lock on. Characters on…

The story and characters are great. On that end, its an incredible continuation of the Phantom Thieves' journey post-P5. This story also handled artificial intelligence and how society would react to it incredibly well, even before the rise of generative AI. The music is also incredible, its on par with P5 and some renditions for this game are even better than the original. HOWEVER.... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does this game get repetitive. The combat loop is pretty basic, which makes it easy to learn and…

Bad port, good game. Having 200 different controls and not allowing you to take full advantage of your keybinds, especially knowing its a hack and slash game, really ruins the experience. The camera optimization is also weird, its either you're dragging your mouse like it weighs 100kg, or you end up getting nausea. Also don't get me started on the camera spinning on its own. Still tho, I like the game and story concept, acts as a pretty accurate sequel to the entry. They perfectly reenacted…

Generally positive about the game. I'm not particular good at these kinds of games so I played it on easy (also because I felt it was hard to track some of the attacks as they're not that telegraphed relative to all the clutter on the screen). I was mostly just playing bc I wanted to experience the story. Speaking of, I mostly like the story with the caveat that the game supposes you played P5 at least. Exploring AI and its uses and the morality of it was a bit ahead of its time, and has become…

I had mixed feeling the first few jails because they felt kinda repetetive, but after the 4th jail things started getting really good! I really like this game but on the last jail I ran out of storage and lost my save, so I had to watch a youtube video. It takes out a lot of elements from regular persona games like turn-based combat and most of the life-sim parts but its great when you want to spend a little more time with the characters.

I dunno...I really liked the mainline game, but this spinoff isn't doing it for me. it's just people talking. Stealing hearts doesn't feel as good this way. I think the dungeons really were important for breaking up gameplay, because this just feels like like a waypoint chaser with anime cutscenes. Even the action segments just feel like waypoint chasers. The combat is ok, but it's honestly not something I wanna do for hours on end. I commend them for the attempt at doing something different,…
