Players describe Pine Hearts as a cozy, heartwarming exploration game with a touching story. [1][2][3] Many praise the game's accessibility options and cute, colorful art style. [4][5][6] Some reviewers note the game is short and simple, with a focus on fetch quests. [7][8][9]

Pine Hearts is a short and cozy exploration game with a small emotional story to guide you along the way. From an isometric perspective, you control a cute and colorful nugget character as he wanders the tranquil world of Pine Hearts Caravan Park, meets various NPCs and helps them with their tasks. The map is rather vast and the game is heavily focused on exploring it, as there are no quest markers (neither to …

A welcomed change of pace, this game delivers a lovely and at times tear jerking story, with an adorable aesthetic. Each area invokes a range of emotion, with cute/funny interactions, to heart felt memory sequences. There is a lot of to take from this short yet charming experience, and I look forward to what comes next from this team. A true delight!

It's a lovely heartwarming & emotional cosy adventure of visiting biomes, learning skills, helping NPCs with quests, collecting droplets (thankfully you don't have to collect full 1503 for the achievements, I was missing the final 3 when I got 1500 droplets achievement), and the emotional story reminds me a lot of A Tiny Sticker Tale, although this one is much easier to get full platinum achievements compared to A …

Cute and short game with some suprisingly dark moments. Gameplay is incredibly simple, i would very much say this is a kids game. You do like button prompts to lift stuff or use tools to progress through the map and then you do fetch quests for npcs until you have unlocked all the memories and done the major quests where you can scale the mountain, Not really complaining it's nice to have something simple once in …

A charming little puzzle adventure game. Very happy with all the accessibility options.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short adventure exploration game with emotional story, relaxing gameplay and adorable graphics. I wouldn't say this title is special in any way as it follows the average cozyslop formula but I had fun playing it nonetheless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My shoutout is Pine Hearts! The team at @hyperluminalgames.com went above and beyond to ensure accessibility was at the core of their game!
neutral · AI labelView post →Cosy and endearing quest-based exploration game which is harder than it looks. I'm not sure why Pine Hearts hasn't had more publicity. I was surprised to see that it only has 41 reviews so I wanted to write a nice review about it because I really enjoyed the game, and you will too if you like exploration and quests. Straight away from the train journey into Pine Hearts you will get cosy and heart-warming vibes just from the upbeat music and colourful graphics. Of course, everyone is…

positive · AI labelView post →A quick first look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RkfT_KTV3o So far this game is absolutely cute and relaxing. Just explore at your leisure, solve little quests for people, and discover more tools and skills little by little while unfolding the story. I'll post a more proper review later, but I know it's early reviews that can help out small developers and publishers a lot. Now if you excuse me, I have to jump back in - I have people to help in game and a ton of exploring left to do. Edit:…

neutral · AI labelView post →Very qualified recommendation. I was under the impression that Pine Hearts was something of an A Short Hike-influenced, combat-free take on the Zelda series, but while there's no doubt a considerable ASH influence here, it's really much more of an isometric walking simulator. While you do acquire new abilities over the course of the game that allow you to reach previously inaccessible areas, these abilities function almost exclusively as keys that allow you to get past specific obstacles, with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pine Hearts is a really cute kinda exploring story game. The first task is to pet a dog. It's a good time. I'm having fun.
positive · AI labelView post →Pine Hearts is a cute and quaint little adventure game that reminded me of my childhood favourites such as Scooby doo Night of 100 frights for the PS2. which is ironic due to the nature of Pine Hearts narrative surrounding early-life memory's. I found the gameplay simple yet engaging, collecting different tools to unlock new areas for exploration and NPC's to discover provided more of a thrill than I was anticipating. Searching every nook and cranny for the necessary 1500 tears achievement…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is super cozy and enjoyable. It's so chill and I can't stop thinking about it. For me this one is a must. Also everybody looks like a potato.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A sorta-cozy exploration game which borders on a metroidvania, what with locked off/inaccessible areas that can eventually be explored when you unlock certain abilities via story progression. The graphics are decent enough for this sort of game, the music is inoffensive, the dialogue is quite witty (love that Aussie sense of humour), and the gameplay is enjoyable enough without wearing out its welcome. Be forewarned, if you are a parent, especially a dad, the ending may get you right in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another "wholesome adventure", similar in style to A short hike and Lil Gator Game, where you solve various problems for the people around you while you work towards your main goal (in this case it's actually the same as in A short Hike, to climb a mountain). It's a pleasant couple of hours (my playtime got a bit inflated due to having to restart), but i really enjoyed it. But there where quite a few glitches that need to be resolved, nothing outright gamebreaking, and i'm sure they will be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved the game and its cute art style. Definitely would recommend this game as gifts or even for you to play if your in a game slump.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very cosy little adventure game. Starts off with the first quest to pet the dog and only gets better from there. Really enjoying my time running around so far and meeting all the cute little potato people.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played a demo of this game last year at EGX and met the some of the lovely team. I couldn't wait for the game to come out and it didn't disappoint. I love the sweet story line and the amazing artwork - plus you get to pet dogs - what more could you need? I love the different areas and the variety of tasks and challenges and the beautiful ending.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a beautiful game with a great story. Loads to do and plenty to explore. Definitely pulls at the heart strings but it's an incredible journey. Also Tyke has the cutest face when they run
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short cozy non-combat metroidvania.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a cute and decent game. While some have compared the game to a short hike, i feel that such a comparison will leave you disapointed. This game is only superficially similar. Exploration is highly on rails, unlike a short hike. There are also issues like the 'local map' is not navigatable, and there isnt good quest tracking on misc quests (or said tracking is bugged). So, was it fun? Sure. Was i disapointed after hearing it compared to a short hike and then playing it? Extreamly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pine Hearts is a cosy, colourful, charming, funny and heart-warming game. It does get a bit slow towards the end, but the end is a nice reward. I would say more, but I don't want to spoil it, play this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve written probably ten review drafts of this title and none of them seem to do it justice. So back to basics. Buy it. This is a beautiful game that manages to incorporate the complexity of losing someone into a wholesome, heartfelt narrative adventure game. Do tasks for the adorable people of Pine Hearts, grow emotionally and skill up. I am trying to avoid all spoilers with my wording here, because you must experience this beautiful story yourself. Technically speaking Pine Hearts feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was super cozy and chill to play. A sad, but very happy and cute story. Simple controls. Very relaxing and short little game. My only complaints are a lack of a jump button (i just like to jump around in games), and that its over already. Well played :)

neutral · AI labelView post →This is a lovely relaxing little exploration game with very accessible an easy mechanics. It's not challenging for me at all, but it is satisfying anyway. It's a sweet and nostalgic story well told. Took me two years to finish because it hit a bit too hard watching the father/son story when my dad had just passed. Made me cry a bit but in a good way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful game that strikes a perfect balance between being challenging and relaxing. It’s not too difficult, but never too simple either. The cute little moments throughout really add charm, and I especially loved the puns in the conversations and the small puzzles. Overall, I enjoyed this game a lot and found it genuinely delightful to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pine Hearts, developed by Hyper Luminal Games Ltd and published by Secret Mode, delivers a unique and deeply immersive experience that stands out within the cozy adventure genre. At its core, the game invites players to accompany Tyke, a young hiker revisiting the Pine Hearts Caravan Park—a place filled with nostalgia and layered memories. This revisitation acts as a gateway to an emotional journey that blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and storytelling in a way that feels intimate and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played a demo of this game at EGX last year and have had it on my wishlist ever since - Tyke's waddle was the hook. So far I've been really surprised at how much more content there is than I expected, I've unlocked 4 areas of the map and the variety in scenery has been really nice, plus plenty of mini missions, lots of characters to talk to, and background animations that are funny if you take the time to stop and watch what the animals/characters/objects do when you're not directly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommend! This game is not to be rushed!! There are little things to do, characters that you will need to meet and do quests for and make sure to collect the memory water drops. The land/map layout is like a maze and it's a puzzle game with a story. The story felt vague but I understood the point of it. I wish there was a better zoom out camera method than just sitting on the bench. Controls were simple and easy to navigate. If you want a cozy game to chill out to, then this would be it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and wholesome game with a big heart - had a lot of fun exploring the world and interacting with its inhabitants. Loved the art style too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I discovered Pine Hearts at WASD this year and played the demo. The full game does not disappoint. Cute art style, puzzle mechanics and an emotional underlying story. I was happy to be able to go back into Pine Hearts to continue exploring after finishing the main game so you can hoover up all the areas you may not have explored. Beautiful soundtrack and nice touches throughout. AND YOU CAN PET THE DOG!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pine Hearts is a wholesome adventure that gives you delight without unnecessary complexity. It also does a fantastic job at being accessible to everyone, it's rare to find a game that embodies a safe space and this truly does. I finished the story today and it left me with such a warm and satisfied feeling. I believe that anyone can really enjoy Pine Hearts and I can't wait to play it again with my nibling who is just getting into games, we're going to have so much fun playing it together!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute wee game! Great accessibility options, & I love the memory sequences with the drawn cutouts
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short and sweet game with a lot of heart that anyone can pick up easily. It has a wonderful world to explore with an emotional soundtrack to boot and lots of humour in visual gags and writing to liven it up. There's some optional backtracking you can do if you're looking to 100% the game and find secrets, and none of it felt too daunting. The greater story about living on after losing a loved one is very touching as well. Also you can pet dogs, so what more do you need? (well, maybe petting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept artist for this game must have one hell of a glorious moustache! Probably some chad called Luke or something like that UPDATE: Here to say I've 100% the game now, Gigachad Moustache didn't tell me I'd be hit in the feels while playing this game, anyway I was gonna say that the art is terrific in this game, but now because the game made me sniffly, forget it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game keeps freezing and won't let me exit, which is annoying because depending on your last save, you might have to redo alot of things. It glitched when I was in the campsite and I clicked on a backpack and then just froze when I opened "my" backpack in caravan park... If it was more than $7.00, I'd definitely request a refund. I did enjoy it, but it'll probably sit in my library and I won't touch it again. It'd be one thing if the saves were more frequent, but the fact I have to redo…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished my first game, Pine Hearts, on SteamDeck. What a struggle. Had to keep revisiting places because I hadn't finished tasks. Seems to me game designers shouldn't let that happen.
negative · AI labelView post →Loved the exploration and environment, a charming world to spend some time in. The story was good, I enjoyed helping people to collect drops that unlock your memories (and new abilities that came along with them). Overall a very chill time, with themes of loss. If you like games like A Short Hike or Haven Park, I'd recommend checking this one out.
