What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 269 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (10,985 of 12,034 positive).
Players find the cleaning loop satisfying and improved, with better dirt and soap mechanics. [1][2][3] Some reviewers report issues with controls, keybinding, and idle animations. [4][5][6] Several players praise the addition of pettable cats as a highlight. [7][3][8]

Too many things changed (in a bad way) from the first game. I liked the new home hub, but the controls, layout, movements, and idle animations are so annoying and stressful. I just got to the first level (the van) before deciding I had enough. For now: *You can not change controls to how you want them, which is not only annoying, but also an accessibility issue *The layouts of the washers, nozzles, and extensions …

I CAN'T STOP CLEANING. I WANT EVERYTHING TO BE CLEAN. PSHHHH PSHHHH PSHHHH. IT'S JUST LIKE THE FIRST ONE. IT'S SATISFYING. CLEAN. CLEAN. CLEAN. PSHHHH PSHHHH PSHHHH. PSHHHH. DOPE CLEANING AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Generally, PWS2 is solid. The innovations added to gameplay and the overall cleaning loop are immaculate, and I feel encouraged to use the entire spectrum of equipment I'm granted as opposed to just climbing the walls like a powerwashing chimpanzee. I will go over the good and the bad - as good as this game is, there is some things I've noticed that need fixing. THE GOOD - Graphical fidelity. Dirt looks muckier than …

83% of the 269 Steam reviewers we collected recommend PowerWash Simulator 2. The complaint that keeps coming up: no keybinding options, causing accessibility issues. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
PowerWash Simulator 2 received "generally favorable" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. IGN's Rachel Weber described the game as a "rare example" of a sequel that tweaked the right mechanics, and specifically praised the gameplay mechanic that allowed the player to used soap becoming free as an example of these improvements. Destructoid's Adam Newell noted that the game improved on the original in several areas, from better controls to improved level design. GameSpot's Mark Delaney also noted the improvements and praised the online multiplayer for sharing progression with the single player mode, but felt that overall, the sequel played it safer than it…

positive · AI labelView post →PowerWash Simulator 2 features a trio of pettable cats, as the first game ended with the discovery of a new litter of kittens. Together, Ulysses, Bubbles, and Squeak dutifully supervise your work while you're out on jobs.
neutral · AI labelView post →Played a bit of PowerWash Simulator 2 over the past few days (about 2/3 completed at ~22 hours), and it's just as enjoyable as the first game with added improvements (shared online progression, last %s hint indicators, scissor lift/abseiling additions, buy/sell equipment).

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Powerwash Simulator 1 was my fave relaxing game of all time...and ofcourse i bought this one the second it was released But how...HOW is is possible to relaase a game without no keybinding in a 2025 game ....it is so LAZY !!! Am a left hand player...so for me it's even worse i cant recommend the game in that matter cause it totally ruins the fun for me to play without...am so sad ;-(((
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game for the multiplayer, and it doesn't work. It honestly doesn't even feel like multiplayer was tested, everything about it is a travesty, right down to the UI elements around it. I can only imagine someone slapped it all together at the last minute assuming it would work perfectly. The rest of the game feels great. Plenty of positive QOL fixes. However, co-op was the main selling point for us. Until it's fixed, this review will have to remain negative.

neutral · AI labelView post →Accessibility options need to improve. I have mild cerebral palsy on my left side which makes my left hand unable to move around normally, so things being bound to shift & ctrl makes my experience very difficult. Simple fix for most games is key binding to other areas, normally around my mouse buttons, and alt. The first game allowed this, but this game doesn't allow key rebinding. Why? Such a normal thing in 99% of games. If I hadn't have walked away in frustration and accidentally left my…

neutral · AI labelView post →Achievements locked behind paid dlc, and a studio that went indie just to sell their soul to a massive corpo with the Star Wars DLC. DLC having achievements was an issue with the first game, and it's a bigger issue now that you're charging more money for the DLC that you're locking 100% behind. (Why is the Star Wars DLC the first to be $10?) The achievements ARE a satisfying part of the play experience and shouldn't be held behind a wall, and I say that as someone who did buy all of the packs…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this. I was excited, I played the first one. Lets start off with the first one. You can't re-map your controls. Yep. Not a single one. Not even crouch. The second, They touted multiplayer straight off the bat. On launch day 98% of people cannot connect to other people. Those who can, have consistent de-syncing, whether it be with game progress, or just movement. Or all friends couldn't connect at the same time. The third. A lot of their achievements are un-achievable. Not a super…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More a warning than a review, but I think it's worth mentioning (as someone who's played about 70 hours of the original without this issue) that PowerWash Simulator 2 gave me severe enough motion sickness within the refund window that I decided to turn it in rather than search for a fix. The game seems like more of the same (that's a compliment!) but aware nonetheless.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's embarrassing how well this works for me. when my adhd brain is Getting Bad, literally just sealing away its drugs of choice makes a huge difference to my brain state Rogue Trader had to go, PowerWash Simulator 2 had to go, every single picross game had to go

If you were a fan of the first game and simply want more maps to run through, I'd say go for it. 2.) If you're new to Powerwash, I'd just buy the first game. 3.) If you're expecting anything new or enticing in relation to their first game, unfortunately there's little to nothing. I adored the first game, and hearing there was a second game coming out had me excited and interested. I quickly came…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i enjoy both the original power wash simulator and this sequel a lot! i'm currently working on going through and 100% completing a bunch of the games in my library, and i'm working on this game right now before going back and doing the first game. i have no issues with the game itself; i enjoy the graphics and the concept and the controls work well. my only issue is this: please stop making paid DLCs required for a player to 100% complete the game achievements. i don't like star wars or…

neutral · AI labelView post →Bought the first game as a joke thinking i'd get a few dumb hours of fun out of it. Ended up at almost 600hrs of full nights and weekends getting baked aF and blasting greasy Dubstep obsessively Powerwashing to my Mexican gardener souls content. Played the Campaign, bought all the DLCs, played it over and over. So here we are with Powerwash Simulator 2 that goes for the new and improved, bigger and better dynamics of a typical sequel which sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Things I…

neutral · AI labelView post →Powerwash simulator 2 is a good game, but I genuinely believe it's only a good game because powerwash 1 was an amazing game. There are so many disruptive bugs, especially as someone who plays exclusively on multiplayer with my boyfriend. I have had to alt+f4 so many times, connecting is a nightmare, I crash/disconnect every few sessions, physics breaks and I get softlocked, etc. Closing the game in a multiplayer session makes it freeze. It should not have been released in this state. It feels…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked PW1 but this is worse than it is now. Gameplay is pretty much the same but with more powerful power washers. There is way less content and it is not as good as in PW1. The furniture mechanics are boring and pointless. The cosmetics were already stupid in PW1 and are extended upon here. New Stuff like the lift is very clunky to use, the surface cleaner is even worse. The achievements of all DLCs are included in base game as it is in PW1, which should not be allowed and is a reason…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its just pathetic to release this game without the option to rebind controls, particularly with the fact the first game has had that feature for years
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall I'm enjoying it and it's been pretty bug free for me. However I have some complaints. 1. The menu is AWFUL. It's awkward to navigate and feels overly complicated. Why not have a menu more similar to PW1? 2. The menu to switch equipment is also bad and hard to understand. Why cant I just press E to see what equipment I have equipped?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I bought the game a few days ago, I was really expecting a lot from it as it's Power Wash Simulator 2 - so this should be a new game, right? It actually feels more like an addon to version 1 instead. I still enjoyed the game, because I enjoyed the first version, but there's a lot of stuff going wrong, that I want to highlight. Well, after playing for a while the first crashes came up - same old auto save issue, that hasn't been solved for the first version - I guess it's because it is…

neutral · AI labelView post →I really enjoy the game and was on my way to 100% until the DLCs were released. Including the DLC achievements in the base game makes it so players cant 100% their game unless they decide to pay the extra 30 dollars for the two DLCs (about to be three with the Barbie DLC just announced). Both DLCs have negative or mixed reviews as it is.

neutral · AI labelView post →THIS IS A VERY TENTATIVE THUMBS UP BECAUSE I CAN'T CHOOSE A MIDDLE GROUND Adored the first game enough to buy all the dlcs even if I didn't care about the IP at all, was excited for this game and have put a good few hours in already. There's a few things I think prospective players should know about before jumping in, both good and bad. Note that I'm only summarising what I've experienced and therefore this list isn't exhaustive. I've only added stuff I haven't seen if it's been a major issue…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not being able to change keybindings doesn't super bother me, although having SO MANY different buttons to change your washer/nozzle/attachment unlike one sub-menu last game feels a bit clunky. Honestly the idle animations are ATROCIOUS. They're like every 3 seconds. Nonstop. Immediately after you stop doing something. For a chill game, these don't even need to be in here, much less 30-40 a minute. I'm typing this in game, and my character looks like I'm almost not away it's moving around…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It could be just as good as the first if it werent for the constant hand holding through the game. It's already an easy and relaxing concept, but I get so annoyed and frustrated with all the tips and helpers it completely defeats the point of a 'relaxing' game. The auto flashing of unwashed objects towards the end of each mission is ridiculous - its a great option to have - if only it were on OPTION. Then every time I return to base theres a tip/info pop up that takes up so much of the left of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of feels like a downgrade from the original. All the maps are insanely vertical. The ground tool is terrible, you are better off with a standard washer. The upgrades feel way less impactful than in the previous title. Underwhelming overall.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know it's an addiction when you're considering to delete your progress to do it all over again while patiently waiting for new maps, dlc's, or anything to jump back in... Can't go to PW1 either cause, everything - literally everything - played out there too. Waiting is a hell.
