In the United States and Canada, Primetime was released alongside Heart of the Beast, Forgotten Island, and Avengers Endgame: Encore, and was projected to gross $17–20 million in its opening weekend. The film went on to debut to $19.2 million from 2,863 theaters, becoming the third-best opening weekend for A24, behind Backrooms ($81.4 million) and Civil War ($25.5 million). In its sophomore weekend the film made $7.7 million (a drop of 59%) and then $4 million in its third weekend. By October 25, a month from its initial release, Primetime was removed from 2,573 theaters after having grossed over $45.3 million.
