Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 183 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,015 of 1,164 positive).
Players say Puzzle Agent 2 continues the story from the first game and is best played after it. [1][2][3] Many reviewers find the puzzles weaker than the first game, with some relying on general knowledge. [4][5][6] The game is praised for its charming art style and quirky characters, despite a rushed story. [7][8][9]

Unfortunately fails to improve on the first game and even regresses in parts. Conclusion to the story is absolutely nonsensical, puzzle variety is poor despite short length, difficulty is flat and on the easy side (without any harder optional puzzles), rules are not precisely written and can be confusing. It's amazing visually and has a great mysterious vibe, but that's it.

Puzzle Agent 2 continues the story that began in the first game. Agent Tethers is back in Washington and is told to forget about the case in Minnesota but he can’t let the unsolved mystery go. The game is much the same as the first with clicking for hint bubblegum, talking to the locals and solving puzzles. I felt the story found in the first Puzzle Agent was stronger than the story here but it was still a decent …

It's more Puzzle Agent, but now it's focused on tying up all the loose plot threads from the first game so the creepy small town atmosphere is a little lost and also the puzzles aren't as good. Still going to recommend it because it's still a charming little game and I adore that distinctive Graham Annable art style; I just wish going from fighting a Minnesota gnome cult to fighting The Government™ didn't feel like …

It is quite a challenge to make a sequel feel as good as the original, but Puzzle Agent 2 delivers in spades. The quirky characters, great story-line and problem-solving are back in a game that kept me hooked for 3+ hours, in a single play-through. At the time of writing, I have 51/52 mind-bending achievements. Maybe it is due to my animation training background but I really love the slightly …

You need to play the first one to understand the story. It is still fun, but some puzzles need knowledge instead of logic, and those just tedious. Like, you have to know Pi's first 10 digits to solve one...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the first Puzzle Agent game and I wanted to know how the story ends... and I was very disappointed. Even though the graphics, voice actors and music were as good as in the first part, the puzzles were just basically the same, but even easier. And the plot didn't make sense at all - it was absurd and inconsistent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzle Agent 2: 4/10 consider me old-fashioned, but if your game has "puzzle" in the title, i may just be expecting said puzzles to be good. not, for instance, a bunch of repeated sliding puzzles and "guess what i'm thinking" riddles. sorry to michael for not streaming this for him, btw. #auggymedia

neutral · AI labelView post →A good point and click and puzzle game. I somewhat preferred the first game over this one, but still had a lovely time playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like in Puzzle Agent 1, in the second instalment the puzzles are vaguely explained. Some puzzles are too easy, some are obnoxious ( in this title you even have to use specific mathematical knowledge to solve a few ), some are boring and uninteresting, some are ok. In general, the puzzles are worse in this game then in the first instalment. It's like they run out of ideas, and many of them are recycled. The story is a little better, it reveails some major answers about what is really…

neutral · AI labelView post →Playing Puzzle Agent 1 is an absolute must as the second game expands on that story. The game is the same good quality as the first part with the same problems: the puzzle descriptions are often very poor. Despite that it is a very good game. Its a shame that this is way shorter than the first part (around 2 hours).

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked the first one, go for it! this is a little weaker on the plot but still a good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of the first game really with a rushed story to wrap things up. The original plan was for this game to have 6 total installments but, was ultimately cut short. That being said there is still a lot to love about the second game especially if you enjoyed the first! Very good and challenging puzzles as well as a "somewhat" satisfying conclusion on the happenings around Scoggins. Leaves us on a tough cliffhanger but overall very happy with the game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of today, Planet of the Eyes (2015) is the 508th best game of all time according to me, directly below Puzzle Agent 2 and directly above Fat Princess. It is part of Tier 24. There are 25 tiers and 550 games in the list. #PixelRankings

neutral · AI labelView post →As others have stated, you will have to play the first game as this sequel greatly expands on the narrative & picks up nearly right where it left off. Let's be real here - if you enjoyed the first one, pick up this sequel. If not, then it probably isn't worth your time. The game offers a good variety of puzzles coupled w/ an interesting narrative & unique aesthetic. I recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Commits two unforgivable puzzle game crimes: 1. Several puzzles rely on "general knowledge" (e.g. being familiar with the coins of a currency I've never used). 2. Includes a sudden quick time event in a game that otherwise lets me take my time. Other than that, I generally had fun with this sequel, though I got a little bored of the handful of identical puzzles that kept coming back in different disguises. I think I would have liked it better if Puzzle Agent had been one longer game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really dislike adventure games with bad puzzles, even if the rest of the game is generally alright.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the first game is good, this one is like fire walks with me and pulls the most asinine plot closure and baffling twist with a really weak and stupid ending. 4/10

neutral · AI labelView post →More like "Puzzle Agent: Episode 2"... If you are familiar with how Telltale games work, you'll get an idea of what I mean. It is basically the second part of a game that was split up into two pieces. So it has the same strengths and weaknesses. Same interfaces, same locations, same musics, and mostly the same puzzle types. If you played the first game, you may wanna play it just to see to where the story goes. Other than that Puzzle Agent 2 offers nothing new or original.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. The only downside is it leaves you wanting more!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed the first Puzzle Agent game, which I played with my partner, and we wanted to like this one just as much. Unfortunately I can't recommend it, for the following reasons: - There are about 5 different kinds of puzzle in this game, repeated over and over. By the end I found myself going "Not ANOTHER one of these!" - Some of the puzzles rely on you having weirdly specific knowledge in order to solve them. In the first game it felt like every puzzle was solveable using our own…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzle Agent 2 is, for lack of a better description, a rushed sequel intended to tie up the loose ends of the first game when plans for an episodic release (akin to other Telltale titles) fell through. It suffers from numerous visual bugs (primarily in the latter half of the game) and the story is very clearly a heavily condensed version of what could have been that skips around, a lot, with characters often getting dropped entirely on short notice. All of that said, it still does what it sets…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzle Agent 2 continued where the first game left off and ultimately gave a very interesting story. As to whether or not this is a bad thing, I leave up to you, but I thought the puzzles were significantly easier compared to 1. How much so? I didn't get a single wrong answer for ALL the puzzles.
neutral · AI labelView post →This game is a great continuation of it's predecessor. If you were left wanting more after playing Puzzle Agent, this does the trick. It's nothing overwhelmingly new and exciting, but it scratched the itch for me. I really enjoyed the puzzles and found quite a few to be challenging. Overall, I would recommend if you loved Puzzle Agent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Part 2 of silly agent, with silly case going bonkers in a strange town. But this time it is even more silly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great sequel to a great game that left me wanting more and wondering where the story could lead. The humor is still there and a bit more development on some characters. It has the same great pace of storytelling along the puzzles. Some of which I found quite challenging. I appreciate the limited number of hints that still make it a challenge. Just felt it was overall a bit short because of how much I was enjoying it. Looking forward to another sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh man, Puzzle Agent was a fun game. Gonna do Puzzle Agent 2?
neutral · AI labelView post →Some puzzles are too easy while others are really hard but overall good. The story is weird, interesting but weird.

neutral · AI labelView post →I don't know how this happened but this is even worse than the first chapter. The dialogue options stay terrible, the puzzles are way too easy and the art is still ugly. The storyline is just bad this time, with tons on non-sensical events that are completely disconnected from the puzzles. There's literally 3 types of puzzle repeated over and over again for 3 bad hours of playtime. And the achievements are useless up until the end when the game proves to be very limiting to people, forcing them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is still cool little puzzle game, ya I liked the first one a tad more tho. Attempt at explaining the unexplainable was a little bit lame. The payoffs of the Korka Tetirdottir storyline were comedy freaking gold tho.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzle Agent 2 brings you back to Scoggins with FBI Agent Nelson Tethers, this time to solve a new mystery involving the surprising return of eraser factory foreman Isaac Davner, who was thought to be missing and possibly deranged. Graham Annable’s cartoon style is back, bringing the same odd charm to the story. The game blends strange events with light conspiracies and a touch of the supernatural. Puzzles still play a big role, with a few new ideas mixed in. Some puzzles feel slightly more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of Tell-tales older games but still fairly enjoyable. It’s not the best or the most exciting but it was an alright way to kill some time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game but if you make a mistake solving the puzzle, it will affect your 100% completion. You will have to replay the whole game to get the 100% achievement.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[100% Completion Review] Outline: Puzzle Agent 2 takes off from the end of the previous instalment, and it's just more of the same, almost to a fault. Nothing has changed, and what is delivered is the continuation of the mystery in Scroggins, more of the great characters, humour and puzzles. For fans of the first game, you know what you're getting, but with a caveat, that the first game is better overall. The story and it's mystery are more compelling in the first game, the writing is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzle Agent 2 is a short and casual puzzle game played against the backdrop of an engaging mystery/thriller (played out in a mostly comedic fashion). The game's narrative builds on the original title's, and thus, I recommend playing that one first as this is a true sequel. The puzzles are generally on the easier side, but are still fun to do. I personally enjoyed the first in this series more than the second, but I suspect if you liked the first one you will still like this one. I think the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable point and click logic puzzles with a fun storyline in-between. No inventory management; this is purely solving abstract puzzles like how to route a laser beam from one location to another. This is a direct continuation of Puzzle Agent 1, with many of the same puzzle mechanics repeated from that game. So while it's maybe not the most novel, you know what you are getting. Plus it's nice to see the story from the first game brought to conclusion. The writing is reasonably good, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzle Agent 2 Review (TLDR at bottom) --(Graphics)-- I really like the hand drawn art style this game has, it's simple but very effective. The only thing that bothers me is the gum that you can pick up, it looks out of place but thankfully goes away after you've picked enough up. --(Audio)-- Really good, everything sounds just that way it should sound, and the voice acting was much better than I was expecting. --(Story)-- The story is alright, it's entertaining enough in a way that makes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way better than the first one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and short. Perfect for the weekend or the holidays. Most of the puzzles are on the easier side and the story doesn't let go until the last moment, what more could you want from a puzzle game? Get this while on sale and you won't regret it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One late-stage puzzle relies on familiarity with order of calculus-level operations. Another is a sudden, isolated real-time event with sketchy explanation beforehand and/or confusing on-screen elements during. If these aren't offputting factors to you, enjoy. I can't recommend as a puzzle game for a general audience. Also, not universal, but in my case, one puzzle relied on information in a graphical backdrop that wouldn't load. Was just placing objects on a pure black space. Reloading game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sequel to the original point & click puzzle game. This series remains strong, and isn’t as flawed in the puzzles as the original, though there are still some issues. Overall, a good game. Read on for a more in-depth review: Art The art remains a very cartoony, abstract, newspaper comic looking style. It works very well with the humour. You either love it or hate, I quite liked it though. The original would often zoom-in, and the drawings didn’t appear to be high enough in resolution, or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I preferred Puzzle Agent 1, the sequel still is a decent game. Most puzzles were more interesting than the ones in Puzzle Agent 1. The story, however, had more weaknesses than strengths. While the story of the first game was enticing and mysterious, the story of Puzzle Agent 2 fell flat for me. At least they brought back the original characters and voice actors. Music and sound are awesome too. You will feel right at home in Scoggins, they really managed to bring a special place to life…
