A surprisingly fresh and innovative combination of Metroidvania and procedural generation. I finished the main campaign in about ten hours, and there are still optional challenges on top. + Great level design + Charming visuals + Funny dialogue (some lines got me laughing out loud) + Good OST + Strong replay value (especially if you enjoy time-attack scoring) EDIT: 48 hours in, and yeah… this game is seriously …

Where do I start? I love this game so much. I spent over 100 hours in the playtest and the speedrun potential of this game is amazing. The way I like to describe this game is a first step into randomizers. If you don't want to go through the hassle of setting up a OOT rando or you're intimidated with the combat from some randomizers this game is 100% for you. The campaign does an amazing job of showing you the ropes …

Charming, witty, inventive, original, clever, delightful, one of a kind. You've never played anything like this before, but you absolutely should.

Don't let the low playtime fool you, I've played dozens of hours of the playtest and watched the game solidify over the past year or so. I was exposed to this game due to being heavily involved in several randomizer projects as a player and developer, and it brings to life an idea I had when I first got into them: What if a game was actually designed as a randomizer? I think the game knocks this goal out of the …

I've been looking forward to the release of this game ever since I saw the first trailer, and even more so since playing the demo. I like the easy-going riddles with constantly something new and multiple ways to solve the riddles depending on which equipment you have found. The graphics, music and sound effects fit perfectly together to create the cute charm of the game. I've played the first 3 levels so far and I'm …

neutral · AI labelView post →(NB. played 15h during pre-release playtests) The cute looks and lack of combat might say "chill game", but this is ALSO an engaging and pretty unique platformer, which requires all of your wits and sense of direction to overcome the challenges it throws at you. The genius of the game is that each room of the house, despite its innocent looks, can be traversed in DOZENS of ways depending on things like the items at your disposal or subtle changes in the home furniture. The controls &…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's ok. I appreciate the thought and care that went into a randomizable modular Metroidvania like this. Took ambition to step outside of the norm and attempt something unique. And I do love the decidedly French aesthetic. However, there's just not enough meat on the bone to justify the high price tag. There's very little to do in the game besides the "fetch quest" portion of the genre (no combat, no puzzles, no secrets, etc). I wonder what the fortune cookies were originally meant for;…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all huge thanks to the dev for such a great experience. I enjoyed every minute with the game. This is a completely different take on the Metroidvania genre. The puzzles are always fair and I liked playing a Metroidvania that didn't contain any combat. The art style and humor are great and I can recommend this game so much. It’s a shame it’s flying under the radar even in the MV genre. Also the demo offers a good introduction to the game and you get a very good idea about what to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played quite a lot of this game during the playtest period, so despite the current low playtime on the release, I'm posting a review now to highly recommend this game. If you love any randomizer, give this one a go. Since it's built from the ground up for randomization, it has great balance in its seeds and a variety of challenges of different difficulties. The campaign does a good job teaching you the mechanics without feeling boring, slowly adding more settings with each progressive round.…

If you like metroidvania games / roguelike / zelda like, this game is for you. It even has vibes of DANDORI if you like Pikmin, because optimization is key. It has many ways to shuffle the items boxes, and it's the player's goal to find the best path to finish the game the quickest. The music and sound design fits perfectly the game's purpose and are very…

neutral · AI labelView post →For the record, i know the dev and did some playtests for the game. That said ! Randomice is a wonderful non-violent metroidvania made by someone who knows why randomizers are fun. Movement and back tracking are a huge part of randomizer and Randomice made them always fun and insist on discovering new ways of navigating through the world. It also knows you will break the logic by trying to do weird shenanigans and will reward you for it. So yeah, the taste is nice but what about the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm super happy and at the same time super sad to read the start of this review of Randomice: "I vastly underestimated this game." 1/ The game is better than it looks 2/ The game looks not good enough to be actually played by many players
neutral · AI labelView post →I have never played randomizers before, but I have quite decent experience with metroidvanias and similar genres. This is an insanely cute, well-made, engaging and beautifully styled game, and a well-executed one as well. Perfect to be played with your SO or a child, since everything is neat and so, but it isn't as easy as one can possibly imagine: the last level literally melt my mind, but I had fun. So, this one is an awesome addition to your library. Shame it isn't more popular than it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An adorable little item randomiser with a heck of a lot of charm. If you're new to the concept of randomisers and have wanted to try them, this game serves as a great introduction. The story has you go through levels of increasing randomised complexity - it starts off simple but quickly starts getting tricky! Thankfully there's a very generous hint system if you ever get stuck. There's no combat, but I actually like this design choice as it lets the focus shine on the randomisation itself.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyed the game, I liked the humor and the jokes are down my alley. Only completed the main story so far. I was expecting more different tools, but levels already get complex enough depending on what the "starting" tools are as well as the layout.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ramdom Randomized Mice Randomizer. 10/10 No notes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Randomice (2025) Had a good time with the Steam Fest demo, and it sold me on the game. Its a Metroidvania mixed with the film Groundhog's Day. Honestly it had a great beginning and a great ending, but the middle's kinda long in the tooth. Luckily the controls feel good enough to get through it.
neutral · AI labelView post →twitch.tv/caigan It's time, once again into [Archipelago] we go, running a new game with [Here Comes NIko!]! And we'll be playing [Randomice] as our BK and after game! Let's go! #furrylive #vtuber #twitch
neutral · AI labelView post →This game takes what's fascinating about metroidvania randomizers and makes it its core gameplay, and accessible to anyone. The campaign will introduce you to everything that can be randomized about the game's setup in ~8-10h and would be worth it already on its own. But then after that you're just getting started on the essentially infinitely replayable challenge modes. Brilliant concept flawlessly executed!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm loving it so far! You can clearly see this game was made with passion. Quirky characters and dialogue, sound effects all done by mouth, aquarelle style visuals combined with the soundtrack give a unique charm to the game. The various movement abilities are well polished and figuring out where you can go given the specific abilities you have at a given time is a fun puzzle!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developer gave me an early demo during Steam Next Fest, and I loved what I saw! Amazing concept with charming and witty writing, and tones of references sprinkled around the house. From framed pictures on the walls looking suspiciously like Zelda, to the humorous fortune cookie messages telling me how the cake is indeed a lie (It's not). I love the use of the tools and power ups you find to help solve puzzles and speed run through the house as quickly as possible. The developer mentioned…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Randomice is a game that sucks you in from the moment you open it. The art style is amazing, as is the music and gameplay. It's a game that lets you figure out the puzzles at your own pace, even if there is a clock on top. The gameplay is fun and gets more challenging as you go on, which keeps you on your toes. I really love all the aspects of it, from the quirky characters to the different background music per room! Would definitely recommend if you're into puzzle games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Smooth movements once you have a bunch of tool, you have great time wandering around. It is chill, quite funny and this haunting music... Great :) Looking forward to play more!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm usually not too much into metroidvanias but this one does it for me thanks to cute graphics, awesome music and overall super cozy vibes. I had a good time chatting with the characters and their unique - and frankly quirky - personalities. The writing is super funny, dialogs went and cracked me up more than once. And the cherry on top for a player like me: a cool mystery that unveils as the story goes on. Easy recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome! Ingenious design and lovely mouth sound effects. I love the funny dialogs and the references too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tomorrow Monday the 24th I will be raffling off a FREE steam code for the game Randomice! This is a game I played during Nextfest early this year which I really enjoyed. Big thanks to @videoludid.bsky.social for providing me a code to share.
positive · AI labelView post →I haven't done a schedule like this in a long time, but holiday week is upon me, so why not. Most notably, I'll be playing Randomice by @videoludid.bsky.social on Tuesday for the launch day and giving away two keys for the game, so be sure to stop in!

neutral · AI labelView post →I vastly underestimated this game. It's hard to convey in words how good Randomice is. Even if you're not into randomizers (I'm not). Before starting to play, I thought I'd just enjoy it somewhat. But the game blew my expectations away. The graphics are good but I wouldn't call them perfect. They give a "kid's game" vibe, probably on purpose, but they contributed to my underestimating the game before actually playing it. Gameplay, campaign, dialogue, music, sound design, attention to every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has to be one of the most underappreciated games I've ever played! Seriously, I never would have believed that running from errand to errand could be so much fun. Yet everything is there: a great concept that holds up remarkably well, an absurdly good soundtrack (emphasis on 'absurdly'), flawless gameplay, clever ideas and a proper sense of humour. Big respect to the developer! (all the more so for still providing additional content)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game for getting a sense of what running a randomizer feels like! It starts easy but slowly ramps up in complexity, mixing up more and more stuff as you learn how to navigate the house and what to expect from each NPC. The movement is also very smooth and satisfying, and the writing often made me chuckle. There's more content than I thought and I'm not even done with the optional challenges yet!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like a dream game for a casual who loves randomizers. I really enjoy watching people play randomizers in games like Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Odyssey, etc.. But the thought of playing a randomizer myself has always felt out of reach. Not only do you need to figure out how to play an emulator or modded game of some sort, it also feels like you need to know the game you randomize really well. Not to mention I can't imagine how long it would take to play a full game. It's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a great game i had a blast while paying it, if you like puzzles it's a mandatory try. I haven't tried the challenges yet but I'm planning on taking my time before trying as the house gets repetitive after a while, though I'm playing them eventually
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun little game - I've played up to day 3 so far but I have played similar games in the past, it's good, you should play it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm 10 hours in and just scratching the surface of what this game has to offer! And so far it's been tons of fun (and a lot of work for my poor mice-sized brain) First of all, the graphics and the music are just perfect. The controls are great especially on controller, after a while you're just zooming through the map! The UX is great too: the powers are easy to grasp, and I was seldom stuck, plus I knew I could always get help if need be. Some players might struggle but I feel like the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I genuinely LOVE the idea. But the execution?...I hate it. Its just...not good. This is probably first game I went from LOVING it - to HATING it, all within 3 hours of playtime. I dont mean the artstyle - that is very peasent to look at - this is strictly a gameplay issue. I did first 4 levels and I genuinely started getting angry playing 4th one. Like half the presents were not gear or upgrades - they were these useless cookies that you cant even use to progress further. It really feels like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a fantastic game 👌.The art style is beautiful, the dialogue is funny, the tasks are well designed and it is obvious a lot of dedication and love has been poured in the hidden gem. For now I have only touch the surface, still a big jopurney to go. Well done Dev!!! 👏👍
