What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 86 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (70 of 144 positive).
Several reviewers note the lack of crossplay with non-VR and Quest versions as a major drawback. [1][2][3][4] Some players report issues with controls, jumping, and level transitions, while others find the game fun and unique. [5][6][7][8]

Experienced on the Meta Quest 3 You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/ZTLWzYskb-k I do NOT understand why this game is currently rated Mostly Negative. Several negative reviews mention this game is in 3rd person. Well, duh! That's what's shown on the store page video, along with the Steam store page description. Not only is the game obviously in 3rd person, but it just wouldn't work in …

For some reason a ton of people are upset over this game not being in first person, which is a stupid suggestion honestly. The entire point of the original (flat) version of the game is that trying to control your character is difficult. Doing basic things like picking something up and placing it somewhere else can quickly fold into complete chaos. This VR port aims to simulate that by having it play in 3rd person, …

I was really hoping the 3rd person option was only that, AN OPTION. it is the entire "immersive" experience. I thought surely i just didnt see the option to make it first person. even in the setting you can only set the camera so close. it feels like youre controlling a puppet. To make matters worse, the game does not have cross platform with flat screen players so you cant even play it with a decent sized …

"VR" more like "spectate what's happening". Not having a first person mode really ruined this VR port. Sure it's "in VR" but there's nothing here that you don't get out of the regular version, no reason to play this over non-vr. EDIT: As per the developer response below, the next level not automatically loading was a game issue. Linux compatibility seems to be just fine with that resolved. I removed that part of the …

Gets a negative review for not having crossplay with other platforms. As if the VR market wasn't small enough already without separating the different platforms players. Had to refund and buy on Meta instead just to be able to play with my friends. The third person camera is a perfect fit however, to me a first person view sounds unappealing. Half the fun is watching the wobbly nonsense unfold as your team tries to …

48% of the 86 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Human Fall Flat VR. The complaint that keeps coming up: no first-person mode, only third-person. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i understand that some people can't handle high action and movement in vr but first person should still be an option for those who want it and think they can handle it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Truely a missed oppertunity, it would ahve been such a good game if you actually were your character, but now your just a camera, controlling a ragdoll by pulling on strings of cooked pasta, this could have been such a good game!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy until they add first person WITH multiplayer. Third person VR is practically buying the exact same experience twice.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Missed the entire point of being in vr
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They are adding first person mode! That automatically makes this game a must play recommendation for VR hungry players

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no first person option
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's in 3rd person. It makes the controlls even harder and playing in VR makes it no different than playing the game normally. The only difference is that it gives you a headache. Also it's the same maps as in Human Fall Flat, so this option is worthless.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT DOWN BELOW!!!! PLEASE READ IT!!!!! the game is alot of fun but if there was a mixed review, i would give it. all i need from this game is crossplay and a first person option. i would actually suggest that the 3rd person mode is way more tedious then a first person mode since when you go to the maze part in the train level, you cant see ♥♥♥♥ plus the third person perspective makes it harder to navigate in small places. i dont want to hear anything on why they cant add first person as a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game could be like a 8/10 but with 3rd person its like a 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has so much potential.. not a bad game but I wasn't a fan of it. refunded it.. This game doesn't even have crossplay and when you finish a level you don't transition to the next, you have to leave the lobby and choose the next level.. Try it out for yourself
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Love Human Fall Flat but with no first-person this vr version is honestly clunky and trash
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Human Fall Flat VR is just Human Fall Flat with motion controls. It doesn't really add much to the experience. Get the non-VR version. Cheers.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really hate the 3rd person controls, i was hoping it was just an option and you could also play in first person but nope! i only played 2 levels and i was already sick of it. bob is barely controllable, the menus are so janky, the levels dont automatically transition to the next one when you beat it for some reason-.. i know it wanted to preserve the wobbly characters and prevent motion sickness by making it 3rd person or something, but honestly nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥ and it just really sucks…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand why its not true VR due to the physics involved but they could have tried to make it a better experience in regards to everything else. It's not cross compatible, first-person VR is only available through a beta version, and the menu is rough to navigage, especially if you're adjusting camera settings. I wouldn't suggest buying this until they add crossplay. Then it's worth playing, even if only in third-person mode. Hasn't been updated since December '24. DOA.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels horrible in 3rd person. It feels less immersive and just makes it worse. If there was a first person option then I'd most likely like it. I'd recommend refund this and just buy the actual version that doesn't require VR. The hands aren't accurate to where your controllers are so it just makes it horrible and harder.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1:1 VR port of the original game, can't complain here. It's important to highlight it's 3rd person game where you control the character like a puppet master. Just like the flatscreen game, and that's the point. Having wonky controls and physics is the core of the game. It's not a 1st person game. Sadly, there's no crossplay with flat screen version.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is good but it could be a lot better. It has good performance and good controls, but they can get really annoying sometimes. Long jumps that i can do easily in the normal game are really tricky, it feels seems like i cant jump as far in this game, and it feels like there is some delay. So far i am quite dissapointed but i hope they will be improving this game. It really needs a first person mode. If you like Human Fall Flat then i recommend testing this game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VR Port: Fall Flat As a mod this is interesting. Options that do not work, most level transitions seem to neither work for me or my friends. And no first person mode. A DLC for the base game which costs a few bucks and I wouldn't have minded.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →devs have abanded it do not buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont even mind the wierd third person perspective, but seriously why the hell there is no crossplay between flat and vr players?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why is this in 3rd person. Like, I know everyone else is saying this, but wouldn't it be so much better if you were actually the human and not just some thing controlling it?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, there is no cross-play with non-VR version
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: Bought the game again, and now it works, and I tested the first 4-5 levels. The idea of the game is sound - but the controls and graphics are terrible. The poly levels look like made not even for the low-end Quest 2 phone gpu, but for the ultra-low-end Quest 1 phone gpu. Graphics simply are too poor and kill immersion. With proper graphics and much better controls, there could be a great game made using the same concept. I will be refunding again, sadly, I'm not going to play and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even with first-person perspective it's just not a well-crafted experience. Another low-effort port.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wanted this to be fun, but the mechanic is very rough and its just Human Fall Flat
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →finally good with the first person mode
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished, Lazy Mess No graphics options so it has pixelated shadows everywhere, turning on smooth turning in the settings does nothing, finishing a level never loads the next so you can't even play through a campaign, the tutorial videos tell you nonsense information that doesn't apply to playing in VR at all... I bet there's a lot more to dislike but I'm refunding this now cause I'm not even sure what Level I'm supposed to manually start after the tutorial and I'm not wasting more of my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels off. I have played HFF for 85 hours now and I wanted to get this game because it was only 5 dollars, I was interested in playing this game in VR, and I sure do eat up different versions of HFF. But this game did not sit well with me. Unlike normal HFF, I feel less control of my character. Certain tricks and actions that I could do in the base game just does not work, climbing up certain platforms constantly fail(especially on thinner platforms), the camera leads to me feeling…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controllers are PSVR2 controllers for Quest 2 for some reason, Camera controls are horrible, Smooth rotation option does nothing, tutorial is the same as PC, what the hell is a "Grid" in the options menu, the falling from level to another level is somehow already broken... Tried to do 1 level and it's just not fun at all.. The controls are annoying. This is just the base game but they lock your camera to the back of the character and make your controllers move the hands up and down which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →needs updates to the movement/ controls. grips dont always work due to hands acting different and the jumping feels off. cant jump as far as the normal game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm so glad this VR port exists. At first, I was skeptical of the third-person VR implementation: "Oh it misses the entire point of VR!" But when I tried, it felt entirely novel and unique in a very good way! It does not feel like I am the human, however, maybe it doesn't have to. Puppeting the human in front of me is super fun! Running, jumping, grabbing a rope and swinging off it feels incredibly entertaining in an entirely different and new way. The only downsides I have have been…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know what folks are complaining about. This is a interesting and unique game for VR. It is physics based platfformer game. Instead of collecting coins, you are using physics to move things around with your motion controllers acting as arms and hands in a puppet master mode with adjustable camera in options for height and distance You act as a puppet master for a sack of wet noodles shaped like a person. Its funny Its cute Its cheap Its unique for VR
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just the normal version with 3rd person VR. It's not worth it. Just buy the normal game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game definitely however currently this is not worth is. Its done in a 3rd person perspective much like the original game but as a vr version, not at all. When finishing a level, you dont move to the next and when played on quest (atleast for me) you use the triggers to grip and interact with the surrounding area instead of using the actual grip triggers. Also for the price of £9.99, this really should have just been a dlc to the base game. I truly beleive if the developers atleast add an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The third person mode is really cool and innovative, however, I wouldn't recommend it at it's current state. Some people dislike the lack of first person, but personally, I dont like how there isnt crossplay. Cant play with native quest people, no crossplay with the flatscreen version.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello Humans! We've just launched a work-in-progress experimental First Person Mode for Human Fall Flat VR on Steam! Let us know what you think? 🙏 More details: ow.ly/JImW50Unnn8
neutral · AI labelView post →It is harder and is not really fun anymore. (I think)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really excited for this since I really like the original Human Fall Flat, but I was honestly pretty disappointed. I didn't think the third person camera would be that bad, and its not, but I would have preferred a first person view even if its a bit more janky. Even an optional toggle for it would have been appreciated. The best workaround I could find was setting the camera to be close and turning off camera collision. Sometimes, finishing a level won't load the next, so you have to exit…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i want to throw up
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool game - tragically stutters on a 4090 rig (out of 600 vr titles i own this is one of the 3) the meta quest 3 native version that i also own works perfect! How is that possible?! i tried everything to fix - no avail. will have to refund. sad.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best way to play human fall flat. Ignore everyone saying it's bad cause there's no first person, it would suck if there was. The whole point of the game is for movement to be hard and goofy, first person would just make everything easy and boring. Something worth mentioning is this might not be worth it if you've already played the non-VR version since everything is still the same, and there's no cross play with the normal version at the time of writing so if you plan to play with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i understood that there wasnt cross play between 2d and vr versions, but what got me is that i cant play with people on quest. i bought 2 copies on steam and quest to play with my brother, just for it to be pointless.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →twerkin on my homies
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is VR first person slated for multiplayer? That's the only reason I bought this, the whole point of this game is to play with friends!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is actually pretty fun, the only thing it's missing is first person
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just found my new favorite way to break stuff in my room :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPDATE : I only recommend this game on steam if you don't care about crossplay multiplayer with Quest users. There is no crossplay with quest, which is a shame since I bought it for multiplayer only. Maybe in a future, but until then, I asked a refund. Human fall flat VR = Human fall flat, the easy mode ! If you liked the flat version, you'll love the VR version. It's a 1:1 conversion of it in VR and still as fun. VR hands works pretty well and is still fun. The third person choice in this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not even really vr. extremely low effort.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Currently Can't recommend this game due to the lack of one key feature: First Person Online Multiplayer. I've been wanting to play with a friend for quite a while now but playing in 3rd person just doesnt feel right for me and sadly there is still no way to play together with friends online in the experimental 1st person mode. Otherwise it's the same as the base game, funny physics based puzzles and lovely world building.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love the puppet aspect of this but it should of just been an optional thing for the main game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the levels wont load and the controls are weird please do better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game does remind me of playing human fall flat for the first time at my friends house back in the day its a great game all it needs is a first person mode but over all couple more updates and this game will be golden
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some of the best VR games out there. Love how the stuck to the original while also making it VR friendly. Of course its not perfect but its is really fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hi Humans, Thanks to your valuable feedback, we're excited to share with you an experimental branch on Steam to test out a first-person mode in Human Fall Flat VR! 🤩 Fall in and share your thoughts with us on this experimental update! 🙏
