Ive played original Sacred2/Gold since 2009 for 1000+ hours. Here are my issues with this remaster in just 8 hours of play time. *ALL* of these features were working in the game 15 years ago. Soul Hammer is supposed to hit twice while dual wielding. It does not. (most dual wield effects are broken) Shadow Step perk Vanish does not work at all. Which breaks every High Elf build completely. It's Sacred 2. Sacred 2 is the video game equivalent to a B horror movie cult classic. Is it a dumb stupid game? Is it janky? Is it built with duct tape and a group of people with incredible scope creep with no self control who ran out of money? Is it fun as hell? Absolutely yes to all of the above. This is a dumb dumb stupid game that never forgets to be fun. The remaster absolutely brings that back.

Saw the information in discord, somewhat reserved about the quality, but still bought it to try. Not even 5 minutes in, I already found two bugs. 1. The main menu has a dimmed "Load Previous Savegame" button. Since I just installed, that's expected. But I clicked on it. Game crashed. 2. I created a single player character, went to first settlement I found. I talked to a vendor, moved cursor to the bottom of his inventory to buy 1 health potion. Game sends my cursor back to the top... fine. I…

Dozens of graphics options that only a developer would understand (treejob cullbudget? patch blending cutoff distance? 3 separate settings for depth of field?), and yet, no v-sync or frame rate settings of any kind. I knew this was just nostalgia-bait, but come on guys.

Sorry but I played Sacred2 Gold just ONE day before this game got released to prepare for myself for this remaster. I installed the CM, the Enhanced Edition and a Reshade. The game didn't only look incredible, it also got eliminated from the most prominent bugs and a lot of cut content was added in. I couldn't stop playing the whole night. It was an amazing experience. So naturally I was pumped for the release of the remaster the next day. I spent a lot of time searching for builds that I would…

When remastering a game, it is important to keep the following in mind... .Nobody asks for content to be removed .Nobody wants extra tactical game-play, unless it is optional .If you can't release the game in a playable state, don't bother remaking it .Fundamentally changing the way a game is played, makes it more of a remake then a remaster. .People are looking for the original game-play with maybe upscaled graphics, missing support for modern features like a controller, not for your vision…

How did three studios work on this "remaster", and dare to call it such? This is a disaster, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There are too many bugs, and absolutely no thought into QoL improvements when actually developing something that should be a remaster. What did they remaster here exactly? It barely looks any better than the original game, and it certainly doesn't play any better. Here are a few issues I ran into so far: - T̶h̶e̶ c̶h̶a̶r̶a̶c̶t̶e̶r̶ c̶o̶n̶s̶t̶a̶n̶t̶l̶y̶…

This might be the worst remaster I have ever tried if I am being honest. Go play Diablo 2 remaster, Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, Grim Dawn or others instead of this terrible remaster of a game I loved back in the day. Why even bother to do a remaster if it is going to be done so sloppy? So many issues with this game, even in the short time I tried it, stay away imo. This is after 3 big updates to? This just might be unfixable tbh. If you do want to try it I would wait for a year or two…

Sadly it was released in an unplayable state, 3 patches in and nothing has changed. I'm only 6 hours in but I've probably replayed about half of that from lost progress due to crashes. You're better off getting Gold Edition to work with a few community fixes/mods. There aren't really any updated textures either, can barely tell the difference from Gold to Remaster graphics-wise. They are burning the Sacred IP for a quick cash-grab.

I hate to not recommend it. I love this game, but I finally had to accept the truth. The developers said they fixed bugs that were so problematic that a community patch wasn't necessary. Here's what I found: - NPCs are always stuck in one spot, like the one in the cage. When the cage is opened, the NPC remains there, preventing them from talking to or accepting quests. - When the storage box is opened, there's a bug that frequently causes the game to freeze. - Many times, when accepting…

This review truly hurts my soul to write, this game is a game from my childhood, my first ARPG. and while the game is still as charming as ever the sheer amount of bugs and glitches is absolutely unacceptable. Everything from crashing, textures not fully loading, all trees in the environment randomly disappearing. This game in its current form is a joke.

“Oops!…I Did It Again!” ~Britney Spears I wanted for this remaster to happen. For a very long time, too. See, the original Sacred 2 was one of the biggest disappointments in my entire life as a gamer. Why? Well, take your jelly babies, because we're going back in time. The year is 2004. ASCARON Entertainment just dropped their Sacred. Which instantly became a massive hit. Which was... surprising, since what was originally called Armalion and was intended to be set in The Dark Eye universe…

Sadly, it's a real Sacred 2 demastered. The textures have poor AI upscaling, and the few changes that were made introduced just new bugs instead of improvements. The devs were so lazy that they didn't even include the community patch fixes. Sacred 2 is a really great game and deserved so much better.

An incredible disappointment and more of a “Demaster” than a “Remaster.” Instead of improving the game and adding quality‑of‑life features, the developers have removed functionality and failed to remaster anythin, aside from controller support, which is flawed even in its current state. The remaster is clearly designed with gamepads in mind and the UI is a significant downgrade compared to the original. Keyboard and mouse controls are also nowhere near as fluid as before. But what is most…

I rarely leave reviews, but I'm a BIG fan of the original Sacred 2, and this... Is the worst remaster I've ever played. Hands down. I'm not even going to leave a list of pros and cons. It's just not worth it. It genuinely feels like the developers didn't actually know how to develop a game. I mean, it clearly was NOT playtested, yet the devs claim it was, so that's obviously a lie. Sound Bugs, Crashes and dont let me start on attacking an enemey. It looks like they tested this version only with a controller. Want to aim at a bat or at any enemie at all with the mouse? Good luck finding the 5 pixel hitbox. I dont regret buying it but at the current state its just more fun to play the old version.

I am pretty lenient with remasters in general, but this is just genuinely awful in juxtaposition to the Gold version. #1, the UI itself has lost all of it's charm and graphical flavor and has been sanitized to the point of losing any sense of personality. And it also sometimes just doesn't open. And the quest log is bugged. To say nothing of the 25% off the top limit on active buffs. #2, Sacred 2 is one of those old games where the Community Patch is absolutely essential to the experience,…

Really loved this game back in the day... but this remaster is a joke. A ****load of bugs, adds no real difference compared to the unremastered Gold Edition (it seems even the grafics are the same) and definitely doesn't feel like any love was put into the remastering of this once brilliant game. Refunded it after nearly 2 hours of trying to enjoy this good old memory.... :(

Before i bough Sacred 2 Remaster I kept reading online (youtube or steam) how badly it su**s. Like it is inferior to the original or it crashes a lot or it has numerous bugs, that it looks uglier than the original etc etc... Well from my experience i ll tell you that this games runs like water in a river! I ve tested both on my laptop (asus gaming tuf 15) that uses windows 11, AND on my Lenovo Legion Go where i have installed BazziteOS to emulate the steamdeck experience (basically it runs…

If Sacred 2 wasn't your thing before, this likely won't change your mind. If you're an old fan of the series (1 and 2 at least), or you like this genre and wanna see some of the deeper cuts from it, this might be what you're looking for. Sacred 2 did some neat things back in the day, and could even be considered ahead of it's time in some ways when it was new. AoE loot pickup with a hotkey is so cool! It also seems to have the same quests, cutscenes, dialog, and story from before, the game even…

This "Remaster" is not worth your money. The original Sacred 2 Gold can be played without issue, if you use the available community patches etc. Furthermore, the "Remaster" removed key features present in the original. In that regard, it can be considered a step back from the original. What I consider even more enfuriating is that they now allow you to only buy the original Sacred 2 Gold in a bundle with the "Remaster". This is utter rudeness from the producers. I tried to get a refund for the…

I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed... I am honestly so disappointed in this remaster. Sacred 2 is one of the first big PC games I remember owning, I was in college and had just gotten back into PC gaming after playing primarily on handhelds and consoles for a while and I have such fond memories of playing it for hours on end. All this needed to be was the same game with controller support, quality of life changes, and bug fixes, I'm so confused by some of the design decisions. There's a…

I'm sorry, but this ain't good enough. Game still crashes, the aiming for certain mobs is broken, the new ui is not comfortable to use, and it doesn't look that much better than the original. Still a fun game, will play it from time to time, but i can't recommend it.

They have slowly rolled out patches. They fixed the shadow dual wield movement. Now if they patch in a fix for blacksmithing they will earn a positive review.

Sacred 2 is up to this day my favorite ARPG.It is a master piece.Starting by the interface,to the graphics, the gameplay and the mechanics, the soundtrack, the easter eggs, the humor.Everything was masterfully created to fit together and make the perfect game.I remember the first time i've played the demo with the Seraphim I was just stuned by how innovative and amazing this game would be. The remaster has replaced the best interface ever created with a crappy one.Bugs everywhere because of NO…

I was like "FINALLY A REMASTER OF MY FAVORITE GAME!!" and then you wouldn't believe how disappointed I was with the UI and the constant crashing every hour to two hours. Could have at least kept the same UI orallowed us to choose the type of UI we wanted whether it be the Xbox 360 version or PC version. I tried out a controller since it says full controller support. Its definitely lacking. If anything it should have copied how the xbox 360 UI version was vs how it looks now. It just seems like…

First, I really, really love Sacred, but this "remake" is more of a downmake than a remake. I mean, AI art for the cover art?! And whoever said this is not AI... oof, brother. Even my non-existent dog can see that this is AI stuff. I mean, what is wrong with her right arm?! ANYONE can see that this is so wrong! Then there's the weird metal wing thing... perspective-wise, it's a complete fail. And this is only the cover art... Even after 10 months, there are still so many things missing from…

It may have had a rough start but I waited a bit and am now having a blast. As an older player I love how I can now play on controller. No game comes close to the epic adventure and open world of Sacred. I am glad I am able to replay with some updates and look forward to any new updates. Playing as a ranged blowpipe Dryad and I fell in love all over again decades later.

I would love to recommend the game and praise it to high heaven as old time fan of sacred one and two but sadly i cannot. Game frequently crashes in the menu, trade, npc dialog, etc. Graphics either got minor upgrade or straight up downgrade in some places. Combat is jankier than in original with incosistent hitboxes and weird incosistency in controls. UI is dreadfull... Confusing ugly mess. Overall i would rather recommend playing original Sacred 2 with graphical mods and comunity updates.

It pains me to say this, but I can’t recommend the remaster. - The controls feel clunkier and less responsive than in the original both in and outside of combat. - The menus not only look more barebones, but they’re also a pain to navigate. In addition they also show less information than before. Now for example you dont have an indicator anymore when you have points to spend on attirbutes or Combat Arts. You also cant more when a menu is open and you cannot open more than one menu at once…

I don't recommend playing it if you are looking for a similar experience to the original. There are lots of glitches, broken gameplay (no true controller support despite saying so in the description). Camera issues, mechanics are all messed up just....it's not good at all. The team behind this were extremely limited in what they could have achieved considering they didn't have the source code to actually produce a "remaster". It's a cash grab made to help fund their Sacred Last Pixel of Ancaria…

Local co-op mode removed....too greedy! Loved the original 3 Sacred games. Bought to replay a better original, did not happen, uninstall immediately. HOW does a remaster lose such a basic mode...PONG had local co-op??!! lmao Skill issue.
