I love the game, just not the constant crashing, from patch 1.6 onwards. If Namco bandai fixes all the crashes or give us the ability to roll back to an earlier patch 1.5 version, it will be a thumbs up.

So let me begin by saying if this game still worked I would highly recommend it. The game play is very fun, and visuals are great. The ability to evolve and develop a team around not only your favorite mobile suites, but mobile armors as well is amazing. Selecting the battle ships from your favorite series also adds to the immersion, and fun of the game. Top all this off with a character creator, and this was …

For context, I have 100%ed the game and unlocked all units, pilots, and modifications. I have also completed every mission, every quest, and Inferno mode. It took me over 100 hours to complete the game. This game reminds me a lot of Super Robot Wars, except with a focus purely on the Gundam series. A number of the manga-only side stories were included and done incredibly well. The attention to the lore of the series …

if you have a AMD card DO NOT PURCHASE it will be unplayable (instant crash)

A great game IF you're into Gundam AUs, specifically Gundam SEED and 00 since they have the most content and coverage here. Excellent combat and link system, not so great maps. A ton of content, but you really need to be a fan of the AUs to get full enjoyment. DLC is a must, buy it on sale and sink ~100 hours to finish the whole thing.

Players who liked SD GUNDAM G GENERATION CROSS RAYS talk about great animations and combat system; those who didn't talk about frequent crashes, especially on AMD hardware. Which matters more to you?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really did enjoy this game, up until roughly last year I had crashing issues. Now I tried to boot it up and as soon as I get the mission map it crashes. I have tried to uninstall the game multiple times, verify the game files multiple times and even tried to delete the cloud save data. Nothing seems to work and last i checked the last update/fix for this game was in November of 2020. Yet when I Google for any help I get wild various fixes to include going back to an old driver for my graphics…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Screenshots and video does not in anyway show what you a buying. the actually game is a very crappy auto-chess game. the animations are alight but otherwise this isn't worth the time it took to load this store page and scroll down and see my review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I so want to give this a positive review, unfortunately I cannot as with newer hardware this game will not function properly and crashes when you deploy and start a level. worked fine on a 20 series card, but from what I have seen any newer hardware has trouble running this game and BANDAI is not interested in fixing it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimers: Hardcore Gundam fan here, also a G Gen hardcore fan. If you have enjoyed G Gen for generations, I don't think you will have problems in playing this game. It is not a must-have, nor a top recommended for multiple reasons. The one reason I will recommend this game is that earning 100% Achievement is extremely easy, if you are aiming for 100%, at its lowest price, it's worth it. However, to 100% the full game, that is going to be an abyssal grind...if you are looking forward to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update October 2025 - Still no fix. Fix the crashing problem for AMD GPU!!! FIX THE DAMN CRASHING PROBLEM FOR AMD GPU!!! They need to fix the crashing problem on AMD GPU. It is ridiculous that you could not even play the game with this crashing issue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ive struggled for many hours to play this game because it literally is so fun but almost unplayable. crashes 8/10 times directly after sortie. ive tried capping frames reducing quality, resolution you name it. its not like my PC cant run anything it wants at 1440 much less a game thats maxed at 1080.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this pretty extensively and enjoyed every moment, unforunately, it crashes on pretty much every mission reload, start, etc. I thought I had found a fix as I was able to play for about 20 minutes and then all of a sudden it crashed while in combat. So it's also random when it crashes. I've looked into many things about this issue with people having the exact same issue I have with no fix. It seems most are AMD GPUs but I have seen a few NVIDIA also having issues. It could be any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would 100% recommend this game if I was able to play it. Since I upgraded to an AMD setup (both CPU/GPU) as soon as I load into a match my game crashes. I used to be able to play when I had an Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU but now its impossible. Just like some of the reviews posted, I have tried all of the work arounds/fixes but none of them worked. Maybe NAMCO will one day update their game and fix the issue but until then I will not be able to play the game I paid for. Other then that if you are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays is a tactical role-playing game that brings together some of the most iconic alternate-universe Gundam series, including Gundam Wing, SEED, 00, and Iron-Blooded Orphans. Rather than retelling the Universal Century saga, this entry focuses on parallel timelines and allows players to relive major story arcs and battles with faithful accuracy. The game’s charm lies in its dense grid-based strategy mechanics and the sheer breadth of playable characters and Mobile…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the overall mechanic, but poorly designed tutorials—like Gundam 00 mission stage 10 'Light of Heaven' and other similar missions that don't allow you to use your own units—have insane difficulty. They seriously hinder progression and make me want to refund the game immediately. Not to mention the game crashing randomly at the beginning of mission not being fixed after years of release.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was under the impression that it played like Dynasty Warriors and Gundam Breaker but a Fire Emblem style Gundam is pretty fire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would be amazing if it didn't regularly crash at the start or end of missions. Really disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →✨SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays interesting/cute/misc observation thread✨ The mysterious Alex Dino is a recruitable character, and he has a unique ability "Haumea Amulet" that makes him immune to any sort of negative status effects or mental damage. *Thinks about a certain Freedom scene*
neutral · AI labelView post →SICK GAME, coudn't even get pass the freaking organization, what a waste of money. For a game that came out in 2019 you'd expect it to run a lot better 7 years later.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you never play any SD Gundam G Generation games, this is the best one that you can play. although compared to the past series: Pros: - this game focus on new timeline so no UC timeline, it's great if you bored with UC timeline - they put the whole manga only and other side content that never got out from japan in this games - with the new warship mechanics this game kinda easier if you only aim for clear stage and the story cons: - Compared from perious games, they make money much harder…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →loved this game played well didnt have any trouble with this game then updated my drivers and boom game was crashing every time i started up a mission, i did all different things too see what was happening but kept crashing to the point now even starting the game its just crashing straight away when i get too the menu now... ive put alot of hours into this game so it isnt a computer thing as its strong enough to play but i would recommend this game as its a good game if you like the SD series…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty fun, though it has a lot of menus so you should be aware of what you're getting into. SD Gundam games don't tend to be especailly *fast* games, so if you can't handle hour long missions you won't enjoy this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It keeps crashing on me, and I don't know what to do to fix it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun, it really is, the problem is the only way you are able to play it with an AMD graphics card is to downpatch your drivers to 22.0.1 or lower. Bandai namco will likely never fix this issue, as they are notoriously bad at handling long standing bugs. Even with the down patch, the game crashes, basically randomly on loading saves, or sometimes when starting a mission. If the game was fixed, I'd immediately reccommend, but again, Gundam games keep coming, bandai keeps…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I miss when this game actually played on your PC and didn't crash on every mission start. It hasn't received an update in over 6 years and unfortunately Gundam fans (both new and old) will not be able to play this game at all unless it's on a PC with 4-6 year old drivers. The most you can do is Dispatch missions and.....that defeats the main purpose of the game. I'd beg the Devs to update this game, but I doubt they care sadly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would HIGHLY suggest the game.. if it didn't crash so damn much! There is so many units to choose from! I have tried every fix that was suggested but it only makes it slightly better. This game HATES AMD GPU. Swapped to a RTX 4070 and i can now do about 2-3 missions before it crashes.. To make matters worse... there is no auto save. We all know we will never get a fix since they swapped to working on the new SD gundams mobile game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TBH I'm just mad there's no windowed mode. That seriously annoys me so much
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is broken. Tried another two devices and it's still broken. DO NOT PURCHASE.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Keeps crashing during attacks, losing 30+ minutes of progress. Unplayable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Always crash I don't know why,But in menus and organize it will crash too
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to enjoy this game and at its core, it should be an awesome game. However, the constant crashes make the game unplayable. There's a whole mission during the IBO story that you cannot view the Barbatos Lupus' animation or it will crash the game every single time. It's so infuriating, I wish I had refunded the game when I could. If they could fix the crashes, I would recommend this 100%, there's a lot to love here for Gundam fans, it's just so unfortunate about the crashes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game. Barely completed Gundam Wing , G-Unit and Endless Waltz and I have almost 80 hours of gameplay. I love that I can finally use the niche suits like Mercerius and Virgos. Now if we can get Genesis, that'd be awesome!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →please add Gundam Seed Freedom DLC
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminder for myself: Don't re-install this. The premise is exciting, and the actual amount of content is genuinely worth the price tag, even excluding DLCs that I completely ignored. The idea of using some of my favorite Gundams, like the Harute and Strike Freedom, in a tactics game sounds- and honestly is- very fun. But man, there's a LOT of issues that bring this experience down. Maps are enormous, long, and bursting with fodder enemies. Combat Animations are delightful and extremely cool,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game crashes every 30 mins, this game has been launched for over 6 years now and they do not have plan to fix it. Last update was 5 years ago, if you think you can get some fix on internet well I've tried it and none of it works. It's a shame that it's such a good looking game yet wasn't even in playable state
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't relate to the reported crashing issues. It's a fun game provided you can get it to work. The animations for a lot of the attacks have so much passion put into them it's hard not to watch over and over again. My personal favorite is some red Gundam with dual swords that are with a gun attached to them that can combine into a spear that which he tosses across the screen only to pull out a beam saber and slice the enemy. All in a single sequence. I found myself thinking "how many weapons…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like for example the Gen G Eternal, you are gonna love this one. Its Fire Emblem, but with giant robots, whats not to love?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't see where anyone is getting crashing issues. This isn't Spiderman 2, if a game like this is crashing, somethings wrong on your side. Outside of those reviews, its a fun, relaxing game. and brings a lot of nostalgia when it comes to the gundam franchise. I always find myself coming back to it, and intend to obtain all trophies just because its a game I've thoroughly enjoyed.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FRUSTRATING This is the game that were bought using real money not something downloaded pirately. Why cant you make it work properly? Seriously a game from PS2 cant run properly in 2020 pc/laptop without AMD ♥♥♥♥ stuff? Bandai you're just plain scamming people at this time. Stop the nonsense and fix the game!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to play this game flat out with my GTX 970. Now when it constantly crashes on battle start-up, battle animation and sometimes randomly. Currently using AMD Sapphire 6650 XT. It just hates AMD drivers at the moment. Until they fix this issue (I doubt, since this is bandai we're talking about).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to play it for more than 2 minutes before the game crashes Thanks a lot, Bandai. I hope you choke on your abominable gacha slop
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun but it crashes alot! I highly recommend Super Robot Wars 30 if you want to play this. I'm assuming the newest Super Robot game is a better investment or try the phone game they got if you like Maria and the gang from the Generation series.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ah I miss the Gundam 00 aesthetic of suits. First saw this one in SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays and enjoyed it there. The variants/upgrades get even crazier with the feet lol. This being the Sefer Rasiel 3rd form.
positive · AI labelView post →Game keeps on hanging, despite rebooting system and other troubleshooting steps.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this is gonna seem funky seeing as I have to give it a review to get a real response, but how in the world is this game _supposed_ to be played? Here's the deal: you get characters and scenarios straight from the Gundam universe, and you ADD _your_ designed characters and Gundams to those scenarios as _backup_(?), and then play through the episodes. Coolzees. But then... Once you've played through one full chapter and move on to the next, your characters are so OP that you literally…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a 2k resolution patch as well as a new update for modern drivers. Game is unfortunately, literally unplayable right now, by which I mean once you actually start the mission, it will always crash :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Try this game and you wont be able to stop playing it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s so funny that both SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays and Eternal have this listed as a unique suit, like, no you sillies, you just removed the lance, that doesn’t make it a custom suit. It’s even funnier in Eternal cause you can’t develop a Jurag or Desultor, but you sure can castrate a Graze!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have been playing this game on and off for years now. Stumbled across it by accident. Missions can be long but that's fine, easy use of quick saves to come back later now that I don't have as much time as I used to when I first started playing. It definitely is grindy but it doesn't need to be if you don't wan to. Once you get what you like you can easily keep playing that on the regular difficulties. The true grind starts going into the higher, and higher difficult missions where you get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs very well on steam deck.
