It's a buggy mess that seems to have been abandoned by the dev(s) shortly after the release. The game itself works relatively fine - most of the time - but sometimes glitches out and detroy runs without rhyme or reason. The in-game glossary only shows half the unlocked ingredients, equipment and recipes, The rest is permanently hidden behind "???" entries. Some of the signatures (unlockable bonuses for runs) require …

Obsessed over the demo, stayed up way too late to play it the moment it dropped, have played it on and off in the background for days. It's an excellent, chill but satisfying card-stacking crafting game, a la Stacklands - if you liked Stacklands and want to see it skinned for cooking, this is it - and I mean that as a high compliment. When you like something, you want more of it!! A lot of the negative reviews about …

I love Stacklands and I love cooking games. So this was a no-brainer. In this game the pause button is your best friend. I liked that there’s a hard mode for no pause. I feel like the markets were made for hard mode, because there's no pause, so you need the ingredients quicker which then justifies for the high prices. It does get tiring because you need to check recipes all the time, you just can't remember them …

New review: Now that I have spent an embarrassing amount of time on this game I want add some new thoughts. For $10 I think the game is worth it. It's disappointing to see a few big things get overlooked by the devs but for 50 hrs played I really feel I got my money's worth. I think if the devs had just spent a little more time on this game it would have gone from good to great. Stacklands has a flow and ease to it …

A mix of Roguelike deck building, cooking simulator and time management. A fun, casual game with gameplay reminiscent of Stacklands. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/FOGbjpQKZ-4 You manage your restaurant. You are a manager, a cook and a waiter at the same time. You need to stack cards together to cook dishes and serve customers. The goal is to complete the assigned tasks (missions) within a certain time. You can adjust …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to be able to recommend this game, but it's been so frustrating. Right now I'm stuck on a run because after spending hundreds of in-game dollars on a card pack that supposedly has the recipe I need for a customer request, it still hasn't dropped. I tried guessing at how to make the recipe but it's clearly not intuitive either. Also, if you're not familiar with a country's cuisine then nothing about it will be intuitive. This is far from the first run where I've been unable to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like stacklands, so I bought this game immediately, but I'm a little disappointed. Why does the day end immediately without letting customers finish their meals? This is not a good design choice because I lose the meals I cooked and earn no money from them. Additionally, I found a bug: You can't place a meal directly into the cupboard, but you can put an ingredient inside first and then stack the meal on top. And the meal will spoil after a few days, turning into garbage that can't be sold.…

neutral · AI labelView post →Fun, for sure, until you realize it doesn't save mid-run, or even at the end of a day unless you complete all steps and progress to the next. Not a huge loss of progress, but made me realize that if I don't have time to commit to completing a whole day then it isn't worth booting up. I'll probably play more, and it may be a programming limitation to only save at the end of a day, but at least warn me that closing the game means restarting...

Things can get pretty hectic, so make good use of the pause button! Or play hard mode and....don't 🤣 #indiedev #gamedev

neutral · AI labelView post →progression feels a little fast - eg. by the time italian cuisine came around my board had no room for any sense of organisation. could just be a skill issue. otherwise, really fun game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am editing my review as I now have finished the game (as far as it is playable anyway). But there are merely a few adjustments as my opinion of the game has not changed. As people said before the game is riddled with bugs. Cards don't work together, some don't even have a purpose in game yet. Currently four Achievements are bugged as well (these are: Extra Sizzle, Garbage Collector, Ice Cold Start and Frozen Fortress). So definitely not recommeneded for achievement hunters or completionists.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the demo and am excited that the full release is out. I love that you can play in different modes from casual to hardcore. The game is simple yet it remains fun and challenging. Drag cards, discover recipes, upgrade your kitchen, and have fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sizzle & Stack (in development), a restaurant management game where cooking is represented by card-based gameplay, releases demo on Steam..
neutral · AI labelView post →The game is unfortunately riddled with bugs some of them really frustrating, wait for a few updates and patches before buying. (cards don't work together, chef doesn't work, have to try 5 milks / 5 flour to make a dough)

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are some games available on mobile phones. At first glance, they seem interesting and creative, promising a casual yet enjoyable experience. But after the first few levels, they become unnecessarily complex, forcing you to purchase tens of dollars worth of packages just to perform even the smallest tasks. Otherwise, the game becomes unplayable. This game continues that initial experience without sacrificing it. It demonstrates that a game can be made without being bogged down by the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really great game. Mechanics are simple but also fun, you have to manage the table and resources. Really liked the flow. There is only one thing that can be improved. Customers you don't serve continues to stay as day passes. It would be great if they reset on new day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I went into the game with low expectations, but found i enjoyed it more than Stacklands and that game was pretty good. It takes the pressure if restaurant management Sims and puts a fun spin on it. I found myself coming back to it again and again. Definitely worth playing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy playing Stacklands and also have a thing for cooking, this one’s a real treat. Shoutout to the devs, can’t wait to see what new dishes you’ll cook up next :D

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is like Plate Up! and a card game had a baby. Fun and kept me interested because I was searching for a card game to play. I did not realize it would take a lot of thinking, but that's okay. I like the recipe discovery, foods you create, and gameplay loop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was hyped with demo, then played full game for ~2.5h and imo it's boring and repetitive. I really wanted to enjoy it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really, really want to keep playing the game, but I’m on day 29 (cozy mode) and I’m only getting the same two recipes. Breakfast burritos and chicken enchiladas. I have so many other recipes I haven’t been able to try because it never brings them up as an option. It makes it hard to keep playing because I’ve restarted runs multiple times to try and get other recipes and it’s not changing. For now it’s a no to recommend because it gets to a point you’re just not getting anywhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →achievement unfriendly, only fun for the first 2 3 hours.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This genre isn’t usually my cup of tea, I really don’t think I’ll be playing that much but Sizzle & Stack hooked me right away. It’s got that perfect balance of relaxing card-stacking and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. The cooking theme fits perfectly, and there’s a real satisfaction in unlocking new recipes and upgrading your kitchen. If I had one small gripe, it’s that unserved customers hanging around between days can clutter things up, but it’s hardly a dealbreaker.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love it! This is my first time playing a game like this. I love cooking games but this is also a card game. I played the demo a bunch before getting it. I'm so glad it had a demo because I love this game. It's cool figuring things out and then seeing how I can improve with each turn. I love that each card pack is a mixed bag and then you have different things you need to do. You have a card that can hold multiple cards and the one that can duplicate which is cool. You've got to cook, learn…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I haven't played this genre before much, but I was hooked from the first second. I love cooking games and casual games to play something easy after a long and hard day at work. So this is a great match. There are some frustrating bugs, but as I can judge, they are being fixed immediately.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this little chaotic cooking game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Supeeeer fuuuun! I really like how you listened to the feedback based on the previous versions and the balance is much better nooow!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so fun, definitely recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you loved stacking villagers and resources in Stacklands, you’ll feel right at home here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has promise, but it has been a long time since there was any news or updates. As it stands there are similar games I would prefer. I hope that development continues.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very fun, and somewhat addicting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sizzle & Stack, developed and published by Arvis Games, is an inventive hybrid that merges restaurant management with card-based strategy, transforming the familiar chaos of a busy kitchen into a tactile, tabletop-inspired puzzle experience. Instead of navigating a 3D kitchen or micromanaging animated chefs, players interact with a spread of illustrated cards representing ingredients, tools, appliances, and customer orders. The core concept is elegantly simple—stack the right cards together to…

neutral · AI labelView post →This cooking dash game is pretty cool and I've been having fun with it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I downloaded this because I really liked stacklands. I gave this a real go, and there are a few things I just can't get over. The main thing is, I'm tired of opening packs just because I need milk, or flour. I feel like every dish that pops up, I need to open a 10 or 15$ pack just for a single ingredient, and the rest go to waste. I understand I can buy some of them, but it's just not what I want to do. Stacklands always had a way to get the redundant things. Maybe add a cow or a mill that…

neutral · AI labelView post →Love the card game aspect for a cooking game, easy to get the recipes, harder to cook them all
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By placing ingredients to make different foods to meet the needs of customers, similar to stacking continents, there are a lot of recipes, you need to buy kitchen utensils and upgrade your own items, suitable for casual play, but currently customers will order unlocked recipes, which I hope will be updated soon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice combination of Stacklands and cooking. I'm having a lot of fun! Due to the amount of recipes, it doesn't feel too repetitive for me yet. You buy upgrades at the end of the day, based on how many customers you successfully served, not money (that's only for ingredient packs). That can be things like a higher card limit, ability to re-roll a customer order or more/faster tools. The longer you play, the more starting "abilities" you unlock, e.g. starting with an additional pan or more space.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very very fun little game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly recommend if you enjoy cooking games, a plus if you love stacklands
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple mechanics that really ramp up as you play. Can provide both chill vibes and proper management, depending on your grasp on the recipes and how orderly you are with your cards.
