The description and pics lead you to believe this is an open sandbox game but it is not. I dont want to decorate homes with rules or for other people only, i want to decorate as i want to as if for myself. and save and complete it that way. please make sandbox mode and ill change my review.

At the moment, the game is in a pretty bad state concerning optimalisation. With my OK gaming laptop, it takes so incredibly much CPU and RAM power. With nothing open in the background - I even turned off Windows Defender - my CPU was constantly at 95-100 percent. This (ofcourse) shouldn't be the case. The game itself is pretty neat, The detailing is amazing and you can have lots of fun playing it. The potential is …

Really cute and relaxing game. I honestly didn't expect to spend so much time just moving things around until everything looked right. Very simple, but I had a lot of fun with it. Definitely worth playing if you like decorating games.

My favourite cozy game of all time. Love the detailed photo-real furniture and design elements. Love the first-person walk-through mode. Love the option to change time and have the weather change. All in all it adds up to a really comfortable, mellow and atmospheric little gem. The room templates are set in different cities from Tokyo to Berlin and others and each captures that vibe pretty well. Every room template …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been wanting this game for a very long time. I waited until the game was on sale and finally purchased it. Unfortunately, it did not go well. Perhaps this is because of the game structure where one must slowly unlock different items and skills. There was almost nothing you can do at first and any amount of decorating is impossible. The only way to unlock tools and items was through finishing orders, but nothing looked nice because I couldn't do anything besides add some random items…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fellow gamers, I really wanted to love this game, but it is a massive letdown. What promised to be a relaxing building sim and a creative outlet is actually just a glorified, frustrating "follow the directions" simulator. The Cons: • Zero Customization: There are no keybind options to fit your playstyle. To make matters worse, I accidentally toggled object snapping off, and the vague menus offer absolutely no clue on how to turn it back on. • No Creative Freedom: There is no sandbox…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly not really playable yet... i get that it's early access but still.... + really pretty and cool designs and i def want to play it more in the future when they hopefully improve everything :) - really buggy... like... reallyyyyyyy. Sometimes the bed i wanted to place just started spinning around in circles like a super fast carousel. Sometimes it rains...inside. And sometimes the whole room just goes all black even tho there are lamps inside. - furniture options are annoying to go…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This would be the absolutely best game for decoration but there are two main factors that are making me return this game: 1st and most important is the optimization, GOD it is really bad. I have 36 GB of RAM, i use apps like Blender and Sketch up and my computer cannot run this game properly, the frame rate is about 20 fps and the mouse moves so slowly and contantly crashes. 2- I noticed a lot of people think the same, this game should have an option to play without having a client, some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely gorgeous art on the outside but unfortunately the game is built with duct tape. People are not able to start it, it is taking up so much computing power, and people are losing their saves. The developer seems as baffled as we are. Please, use the earnings made to hire someone for a few days to fix the game. You can recoup the costs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this game for my partner because she loves interior design. After this most recent color update, regular mode and safe mode of this game HARD crashes my pc. Pc then refuses to turn back on until a few minutes later. Be careful playing this game, it will shut your pc down without warning.

My opinions aren't facts, and you're not expected to agree with them—and that's perfectly okay. My goal isn't to tell you whether you should like a game. Instead, I try to explain what worked for me, what didn't, and who I think the game might appeal to. Constructive discussion is always welcome, but please remember there's a real person behind…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very controversial. This game is not a sandbox. It tries to be one, but its very deceptive. To unlock new furniture options, u need to play Normal mode. And thats what ull be playing. Normal mode is getting really boring, because to keep things existing, we re introduced to the family and their requirements, but this doesnt feel like a storyline; its just tasks for the player. In each location, u only need to place a couple of objects, and thats it. As u progress, ull be able to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is not a lot of selection for items so it gets boring after a while. It's extremely buggy - between the same boxes multiplying over and over, boxes being unlootable, boxes spawning in weird places, not being able to move said boxes because they're stuck under the closed off stairs, and not able to recieve stars after finishing a room - it is almost unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fantasy game set in an alternate reality where you can work with art and music while renting (or owning??) a beautiful place in a cool big city. Where up to 1033 sqft / 96 sqm is "small". There are large windows on 2+ sides with no buildings around that would steal your sunlight. Your budget is unlimited. Plumbing is not an issue. You can just go ahead and add new walls or a loft. Can't fit your favorite piece of furniture? Just make it smaller, or merge it into the wall or other…

positive · AI labelView post →***3/22/2026 UPDATE PLEASE READ*** Hello lovely people of Steam! I am here to edit my review after I have gotten direct feedback from the dev themselves. I would like to apologize sincerely to the dev for the accusation of AI usage. I genuinely, along with friends of mine, had really mistaken the thumbnail art for being AI which as I stated before, was genuinely saddening for me as this game is very cute. The dev was kind enough to respond with proof that that no assets in this game are AI.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was very excited to try playing this game, as cozy house decorating games are some of my favorite games to play. Controls were more difficult than I expected (with choosing and changing items), and the game completely froze and was unplayable. I did not even get to 15 minutes of playtime. This was not an internet issue, because I have stable, fast internet. This game could be nice in the future, but as of right now it's disappointing, and for me, unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game, but probably not for me. I expected this game to be more about decorating and getting some ideas on how to make a space look good. But in the mode I played, you basically have complete freedom to place and arrange everything yourself. You get some basic requirements and points for things like having a bed or a table, but that's pretty much it. I was hoping for more tips like “this would look better here”, “these things work well together”, or just some ideas based on how real…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gaming mechanics was easy to use as i played sims 4 before and uses the same sims 3 camera like that but i had to keep reminding myself that this is early access because there's alot of things that limit this game to the full potential. More things like: - better colours for furniture / wallpapers - eyedropper tool to make it easier to copy colours - more furniture options like curtains and such. These are a few things that could help elevate a players personally experience. Some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have bought and played this game for 2 hours, and i honestly love the concept it just feels empty, the outside looking like nothing, floating in the void, a lots of bugs and stuff just starts to fly away, the mouvment is really bad though, like WASD is suppose to be up down right left, istead its zoom in and out even though the mouse scroller is for that. it really wasnt easy to manipulate and lacks a lot of improvement, i would def not recommand you to buy it now, i have refunded mine, cause…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is beautiful, I love it, but the problem is that it is unplayable now with the boxes of items duplicating themselves every time I open a file save. the checkmark for the stage to be complete doesn't register so the level never gets finished according to the system or whatever. it's annoying. the game breaking glitch makes it impossible to get further in the game and get stars, so i have to unfortunately stop playing here and not recommend this at this time until it gets fixed. I know…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had really high hopes for this game and REALLY wanted to like it, but even after multiple updates, it still feels lacking, and I’m left pretty disappointed. I can’t recommend it in its current state. If you’re looking for a house decorating experience, there are much better options out there. This game is buggy and has a noticeable lack of furniture, clutter, and overall variety. Adding Steam Workshop support could really help address the limited selection of objects. The ghosting issue…

positive · AI labelView post →I’m disappointed in this game but it’s got a lot of potential. I think it needs an actual sandbox mode where you can first design your own layout or choose from many options, and then do interior design with a lot of freedom. But there needs to be much more assets and styles to actually allow creativity. I really hope it will become it because the game is fun but to small and restricted.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very open-minded game, there's a variety of ways to decorate each place to your liking. A few things in my opinion, we need bigger balconies on some levels. I would also think we could customize our own floor plans too and maybe even decorate a single room if possible, that may be my opinion but it would be a nice feature some day.

positive · AI labelView post →Really cute and relaxing game. I honestly didn't expect to spend so much time just moving things around until everything looked right. Very simple, but I had a lot of fun with it. Definitely worth playing if you like decorating games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really great little game that is scratching the itch Unpacking left with me while also fulfilling the home decorating itch without having to play The Sims. Because it's still early access and largely one person working on the game, I'm rather forgiving of the graphical issues as they aren't game breaking. There's a lot of object tearing and fuzziness with the lighting no matter how I modify my settings, and I'm not sure if it's just my graphics card or if the optimization still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game in theory, and I know I will adore it once they patch it up more, but right now it's so impossibly laggy it's pretty much unusable, and for some reason it won't run the lighting graphics properly for me. I see videos of people playing with gorgeous sunlight, but I had to turn time passing off because it had such trippy flashing, crashing, glitching light. But in defense of the game, I've never spent so long trying to keep playing a game that is lagging like crazy and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy this game, it is WELL worth the money, and overall just an amazing, simplistic game. I mostly play this game once I've had a long day at school, playing music and just making little rooms and spaces, personally I've always liked designing games but never really found one like this. To be honest I only have one complaint, we need more rooms and options to chose from, however I am still yet to fully use all the furniture, modules and materials. My complete and honest review of this…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah one of those "wish I could give it a neutral review"... The controls are infuriatingly annoying. They are completely anti-intuitive. There's a lot of weird outline tracers as it gets darker in game, so I'm guessing the optimization just isn't there yet. Items just..disappear sometimes as I'm trying to get the camera to a nice angle. Unfortunate, game def has potential otherwise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My daughter invited me to check out a game that she's playing and I found this game, Small Spaces. It's a delightful game, especially if you enjoy interior design, but it goes beyond that. The gameplay makes it more than just "playing with a doll house" because you have the ability to make a space that becomes a home based on your style and creativity. Do you want a music room? Go for it. How about a playroom for the kids? Are you a reader? One must have a wall of books to feel at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What do you mean I unpacked all the stuff and it still did not meet MINIMUM requirements for the room?? I don't understand
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel this is better than Hozy. I love how it saves each version of the room you complete instead of losing it like in Hozy. I wish there was a wall paper option and more picture choices. Also wish you could change the color of well everything. I am enjoying redecorating the rooms over and over in totally different ways. Very relaxing game. I just discovered I can decorate the outside so total bonus.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like the Sims but mainly focus on decorating, this is the game for you. Really looking forward to how this game progresses into its release. I am playing on a Microsoft laptop, and at first had some difficulty with the game's speed and responsiveness. I tweaked a few settings and now it is working much smoother. I really enjoy the simplicity to the game's interface, as well as the thoughtfulness behind the storytelling. Unpacking is a fun feature as well! This is the perfect game to play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed decorating the first room despite the controls being a little janky and having to reopen the game twice just to get it to work. I also couldn't choose "decorate" and had to choose unpack mode just to play the game. On top of this, the "save and leave" option wasn't working. So I lost it. The game is very broken unfortunately. I was really looking forward to it and I have to say I am disappointed and I have a pretty high tolerance for bugs in games. It's just unplayable. I will…

Beautiful graphics, lovely styles and I just hope more to come since this is now an early access version. I just can´t wait for more updates, color options, furniture and such.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game seemed nice but when I opened task manager while playing I saw the game was giving my cpu bonnie blue backshots and my cpu was using 100 percent
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game, its simple fun and really lets you decorate it however you want. I really like how the game is made. My only real problem right now, is that even though my specs are above the recommended requirements, it is very unoptimized. My fans go loud, I get constant framedrops and my fps can barely stay stable at 20-30 fps. And all this while the quality is on low. I don't know why its like this right now, and I really hope that the game gets more optimized! Keep in mind,…

Highly recommend this if your thing is designing and especially with tiny spaces in mind. The game comes with two variations, the first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way too high requirements for such a small game. So I wanted to play small spaces. However it crashes my pc a lot. Like, it takes up 12GB of RAM just to play somewhat okay on the worst settings and even hikes up my GPU and CPU as well. Also there are traces/ stamps of the objects whenever you move something. Does anyone know how to maybe change some settings or so to maybe make this game playable? It's really annoying and I might not play it at al.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like building and design games a lot and was looking for a more straight forward cozy design game where I could create freely with less limits but unfortunately this game was short sided with shoddy camera controls and limited play options. I understand it is an early access title but there are currently two modes and one location to build on and all others must be earned through unpacking boxes and placing furniture in set places which greatly limits creativity. So at this time I cannot…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought Small Spaces at full price shortly after release because I really liked the idea of the game. The concept is actually very interesting. The game gives you a room layout and a theme, but still allows a lot of freedom when decorating. That balance between structure and creativity is something I was really looking forward to. However, the experience is very inconsistent. Performance is often poor. The game can feel slow and the camera movement is not very smooth. There are also…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm looking for a tiny home cozy interior design sandbox, but it seems like the future of these kinds of games is 'unpacking' where objects are spoon fed to you individually. I don't like the drip feed 'progression system' that's been ham-fisted into this title, where you earn stars to unlock more of the toolset by completing the same objectives over and over in different maps. There is no 'difficulty curve' or rising stakes to overcome, which is why progression systems were invented, this game…

I was a bit hesitant to play at first because of the negative reviews that I've read, but after playing for a couple hours, I realized that the game is really addicting. I do get where the criticisms are coming from but the game is still VERY new, so the bugs are expected. Apart from the problems that I'll list, this game is in a good direction so far, the creators really do care about this game due to the constant fixes they post and fast replies they have for…
