Some note that musical knowledge is not required, as puzzles rely on logic. [1][2][3] Several reviewers mention bugs, including game-breaking glitches and pathing issues. [4][5][6]

I felt kinda mislead by the trailer for this one. While everything on the surface claims it's this big musical puzzle game the actual puzzles are purely mathematical in nature. The music is just a theme and all of the puzzles involve figuring out how many notes up or down from a given note you need to be. It actually allows you to just swap the letters for numbers. They're going for a very cute and child friendly …

BUYER BEWARE THE CURRENT TOP REVIEW (BY 'Gaming Masterpieces' KEKW) WAS WRITTEN BY A SENTIENT GREEN BEAN, THEY ARE VERY WRONG At the sake of spoiling the entirety of this game, I am going to let you all in on a secret. Sonority is a beautiful, but emotional game about the restorative healing power of music. In this game, you play Esther, a young girl carrying a panflute looking for a cure for a sick friend. She comes across a world that has fallen silent and the power of her music resounds throughout the land and brings life back to the singing stones. The hills are alive with the sound of music! (I couldn't resist that!) This is …

Musical puzzles + cool mechanics + atmospheric = A unique puzzle adventure with great graphics. Collect notes/instruments on your journey. Arrange notes on towers to solve puzzle and move to next area. A lovely change of pace to the usual puzzle game. The stories are interesting with voice and animation. Figuring out how the notes and mechanics work was also part of the fun. …

This game surprised me. I was curious but wasn't holding my breath. But Ocarina player puzzle game was very good! Pros: - The music is AMAZING - The puzzles are super fun and unique - Has options to make it either music notes or numbers Cons: - Sometimes the pathing glitches out - My first runthrough I had a game breaking glitch right at the end - The main character isn't that lovable. Overall, It's a super solid …

Is it a masterpiece? This is a musical puzzle game. To say you can play it without musical competence would be to say Tom Cruise could have become a basketball star. You need to memorize sound sequences that you hear, and if you can't do that it becomes difficult. You can still try out all possible combinations, but is this fun? The way…

Sonority is a logic-based musical puzzle game that has progressive difficulty and can be played without background or understanding of anything musical. It positions itself as a musical puzzle game, which is true, because all the riddles here are based on music. But with its musical basis, it makes it possible to solve riddles not only with the help of perfect hearing (which, frankly, many puzzle lovers do not have), but also with the help of cold…

neutral · AI labelView post →Ultimately, I VERY much enjoyed this game. The puzzles are difficult but not TOO difficult, the characters, while not particularly engaging, are voiced well. However, sadly, I am unable to recommend this game to others because of several bugs, one of them game-breaking. I had to constantly quit to the main menu and restart due to getting stuck within the graphics and unable to move (happened at least half a dozen times in my one short session). And just before the end, there is a part where you…

Since I'm obviously biased, I'll try to focus on objectively describing how this game plays. I'll also give my opinions, but mark them as such. The game play has you playing musical notes next to statues that then "save" that note and replay it back when triggered. This way you compose short melodies. These melodies then trigger changes in the environment (e.g. raising platforms, rotating stairs) allowing you to…

Not fully by the way, as Legends Arceus was fantastic, and even my mom who hasn't given a fuck about Pokemon since Yellow loved watching me play it. If Gamefreak would finally make another side game like Mystery Dungeon (or the more forgotten cult classics like Pokepark, Ranger, Conquest, Rumble, etc.) we wouldn't be trolling them so hard. It's also more of a Gamefreak problem than anything, as other companies that did Pokemon games (Chunsoft,…

The character's movespeed is slow, and taking the time to run around each area to search behind trees and rocks for collectibles isn't my idea of fun. The puzzles were very straightforward and rather tedious. I expected more music and less plodding.

neutral · AI labelView post →I really enjoyed the relaxed gameplay and the innovation using the music scale. I quit when the timing of sequences overwhelmed my WASD coordination. According to a walkthrough video, that's about 3/4 the way through the game. So it's not a shooter, or even an adventure game ala Tomb Raider, but you better be damned accurate on the keys.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a game with only a handful of main locations, Pokemon Colosseum has immaculate environment design. Genius Sonority didn't hold back, because this is HEAT.
neutral · AI labelView post →Amazing puzzle adventure .... loved gameplay and visuals as well as the puzzles in most parts. What I did not reallly like, was the fact, that in one level an additonal factor made the players' life not easier: one had to be really quick to get, where to be. But fo the most part the game is more your brain gym and one walks through a beautiful graphics and nice sounds to a good ending. Highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the plus side, though there really isn't a plus side to a game getting EoS'd, maybe this will get Genius Sonority out of the mobile game mines.
neutral · AI labelView post →Overall it's a middling puzzle game. But i have to lean slightly towards not-recommending it - for a game that is centered around sound, the obnoxiously LOUD jumpscare music over and over really leaves a sour taste. And you do need the sound on for some parts (music chests).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really enjoyable and relaxing game. Some puzzles are hard to understand but doable. I had fun and so did my community. If you like puzzle games give it a try =)

neutral · AI labelView post →Sonority is a nice, mellow game that's more about puzzle than about music (I have a horrible ear, but fortunately all that was needed to enjoy the game was to listen to the relaxing music). It is very chill and relaxing for the most part, the puzzles are not too difficult, and the graphics are pleasant. The story is not particularly original, but it is easy to follow and get invested in --- and it doesn't get in the way of the gameplay either. There are some visual glitches, and the camera…

neutral · AI labelView post →It's a puzzle game. The fact, that you can use musical notes instead of numbers (you can change that in settings) helped me to solve exactly 1 puzzle final puzzle - because it's a certain melody and it was easier to find right notes instead of mumerical patterns for me That being said - it's nice puzzle game. Don't buy it if you want amazing musical experience though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I get why this game to a lot of people felt like a step backward after the Colosseum games, even compared to Stadium. But to me it's still the best the series has ever looked in 3D. The music & atmosphere are unparalleled and it blows how Genius Sonority has been trapped in mobile game hell since.
neutral · AI labelView post →Today I Played: Sonority Nothing too serious today! Just a bit of an obscure musical indie puzzler, some of the puzzles are actually a bit of a thinker but I never got stuck on anything, I recommend giving it a go if you're in the market for a new puzzle game. #indiegame s.team/a/1432390

neutral · AI labelView post →Oops, Gamefreak did NOT make these games. Let me correct myself. GENIUS SONORITY AND POKÉMON COMPANY, MAKE ANOTHER SHADOW POKÉMON GAME AND MY SOUL WILL BE YOURS!!!
neutral · AI labelView post →Okay puzzle game, but broken achievements (are the devs paying attention to the discussion board?), unskippable credits (which is, to me, something I want nothing to do with), short play time, and general lack of polish (sometimes character stops on seemingly nothing on the floor) leads this to be something I would not recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sonority is a fun, original puzzle game which would have benefit from some more careful programming, there's many little things which are not disruptive, usually, but they can get annoying all together. Pros: - original music based puzzles revolving around the idea of modifying the environment through music sequences. Don't worry, you need more maths and eye than ear. - puzzle mechanics are kept fresh by the introduction of some twists here and there and by how music causes different effects…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun. The difficulty is super basic—like primary school level—so nothing too hard. However, towards the end, you need quick reflexes, and that section is pretty buggy. My character keeps getting stuck on completely flat ground and stopping mid-movement. It’s super annoying, and there's no sign of a fix.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished playing the game few days ago and I really liked it but the game deserves some polishing. Many times I got stuck but the pazzles were saved so that was a plus. Somethimes I found some missing text. As a whole its a great game that combines music and puzzles. The puzzles are not extra complicated but not easy either. Visual and music were fantastic and I enjoyed the story telling. It was a nice journey for 6 hours. Thanks for this innovative indie game.

The Pokemon Company (Nintendo + GameFreak + Creatures) higher ups dragged the game devs into the home console dev generation kicking and screaming, instead of, I dunno, letting Genius Sonority, who literally developed all the Pokemon console games up until then (Stadiums 1 and 2, Colosseum, XD, Battle Revolution) develop the Switch games. Hell, they could've partnered with or even BOUGHT and absorbed Genius Sonority into TPCI. Wouldn't have fixed…
