It delivers what it advertises: Semi trucks in space. That is, if you aren't afflicted with game-breaking bugs. Star Trucker is a unique sort of sim, a weird spin on Truck Simulator after a fashion. If you are a fan of Truck Simulator, this probably is NOT for you - there will not be long quiet drives and meta management. This game is a boots-on-the-ground experience in a lively world with plenty of things to …

This game is very focused on its vision, which is driving an American semi-trailer truck in space. I think because it is so laser-focused on providing this specific experience, the game is arbitrarily limited by itself. Your truck is the main character and you are stuck with it the entire game. You can upgrade it, but there aren't different models you can get or anything like that. It moves very sluggish, does not …

Star Trucker has more in common with Elite or Privateer than it does with American Truck Simulator. You do haul cargo, but the bulk of the gameplay is a mixture of simulation and management. Your truck systems need constant maintenance: store 6 power cells (batteries) at all times, as well as spare control modules and air filters, because you WILL need them. There is a lot I like about this game. The setting is …

I am 45 hours in and switched my steam name to Star Trucker lol. I have been gaming since the 90s, this is one of the best games I have ever played. A perfect blend of cozy and survival intensity. The visuals are absolutely stunning, I find myself sometimes taking more photos than actually playing. Everything about this game is just so epic from the switches in the truck being all fully functional to learning how …

Star Trucker Star Trucker is a very niche indie game developed by the two-man team of Monster and Monster, and published by Raw Fury. It is, in the most literal sense, a video game about space trucking. Star Trucker takes inspiration from the trucking craze of the 1970s, sticks it in space, and adds some survival elements along with a story to keep you busy beyond hauling freight from point A to B. Star Trucker, of …

66% of the 239 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Star Trucker. The complaint that keeps coming up: warp gates break immersion and limit exploration. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Star Trucker received positive reviews from critics upon release, who praised the game for its relaxing gameplay and creativity, but also criticized its relatively simple truck systems.

neutral · AI labelView post →this game isnt even worth your money on sale. i stopped playing a year ago due to game breaking bugs. picked it back up 2 days ago and the bugs are STILL THERE. oh but the devs had time to pump out some f*ckin cosmetic dlcs. sweet. some common issues ive run in to: -cargo that is too long for the delivery bay -warping into and out of 'haze way', especially using the new aspen gate will end up with your cargo and usually truck being totalled 100% of the time, this is due to the devs allowing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm officially disappointed. Doesn't seem to matter whether the game is good or not in my book, devs prioritize pushing out paid DLC and show little to no interest in fixing well known gameplay bugs first.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →there is no real flying around. You go from jump gate to the marked area and thats about it. in five minutes you go go from accept load to cargo delivered. I expected flying through space from star to star like a star trucker. It did not deliver.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I preface this review with the fact that I love this game. Everything about it scratches a very specific itch I have. That said, the game is unplayable with HOTAS. And they've known about it from first reports of the issue in September of 2025. I'm writing this review in August of 2026. The developers have let HOTAS go completely unsupported for over a year, and that's if I grant that they weren't aware of it before some guy submitted a bug report on their Steam community. They even released…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly, the game really does not hook me up. As other reviews have stated, there are many core issues : - No lateral thrusters, for a game in space, is really frustrating. I get that it probably comes from the idea that this is a 'Truck game', but it just doesn't sit right with me. - I think I'd like to have the option to bind the rotation to the mouse, instead of WASD, spacebar to go forward feels REALLY weird. - My main issue, this is a 'Truck game', but you don't ever drive, you just warp…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You see trucks with multiple trailers everywhere, then i come to find out even when you unlock the upgrades for multiple trailers, you cant manually hook up trailers from different missions. i had 2 missions that i accepted where one trailer drop was on the way to the other, i was thinking i should be able to collect both trailers and do both missions in one run but its not possible. Honestly killed the game for me, it was already pretty boring, if i was still in the refund window i…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Soooo… I'm left with another game I wish had a 'neutral' recommendation. Star Trucker has a lot of charm, personality and good ideas that make me really really want to recommend it but its got soooo many little issues that kept dragging me out of the experience that I ultimately hit a point where I just couldn't keep going. The positives of the game are quite enjoyable and, even with all the issues I'm about to mention, it still may well be worth grabbing it on a discount to give it a try and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the new Star Trucker demo on Steam. And it's fun! It's basically "American Truck Simulator in Cowboy Bebop". This game has potential. If you take the job seriously, you'd think you were there. Out there. Star Trucker should be available in 2024.
positive · AI labelView post →For now im gonna lean on negative since i personally disagree with certain mechanic of the game until its tweaked but oh well too late to refund. Don't get me wrong game is nice, especially with recent content update with ventures but certain stupid issue really drains me of motivation to play game because how unfair sometimes it is. Personally what i like about this game: +Space scavenging +Interacting with modules and managing power drain +General space environment (alot of locations are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing Star Trucker again it also had a big update 🌌⛽🚚🪐 but man this is such a cozy game with so much to interact with & do I really do enjoy vegging out to this game being a lil space trucker (WARNING TRASHY MACRO SIZED SPACETRUCKER MOOD REFRESHED)
positive · AI labelView post →I'd put it neutral if I could, because I think I just don't "get" the game. I like other sim games like Euro Truck sim, American Truck sim and flight sims, but I just don't get this one. Its just driving from jump gate to jump gate in an almost straight line, replacing batteries as they run out of charge (with no way to recharge them and they're stupid expensive) and replacing other parts in the truck. The docking mechanic is quite fun though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be blunt, the game is a bit boring, and it doesn't feel complete. Like there is a bed, but there is no function for it other than to skip a few hours. There is food and other bits, but that is only to trade between stations and not use. You have a crafting bench but can't use it. There is a lot of swings, but a lot of misses.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really wanted to like this one. Concept drew me in but got repetitive and frustrating just two hours in. Pick up a load, drive a couple minutes to a warp portal (on the way there dodging debris), go through portal and drive a couple minutes to the drop off, spending most of the time getting the parking or portal entrance right due to the controls and physics. Can't ever go fast and drive for long distances between places. Was hoping for more of a No Mans Sky meets Euro Truck Sim kinda game.

neutral · AI labelView post →This was so damn boring! So, lots to say, but I will try to organize my thoughts. Positives: The truck drives well, especially when upgraded. There's a weight to its movements. Managing the truck's systems is pretty engaging - monitoring battery and filter levels, making sure nothing breaks mid-trip. Arranging parts and goods by crates is pretty immersive. Space scenery is attractive, and space stations look appropriate. Performance is good. I have an older PC and the game ran smoothly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tedious is how I'd describe this game, you spend most of you time replacing d batteries and picking your stuff off the floor because staps don't exist. The rig is a big slippery boat that feels awful to control. The jobs pay laughably low so you'll be spending most of your money on d batteries since they run dry so fast. Oh and there's one of the most stupid design choices I've ever seen there's 2 rig heath bars one us hull for when you run into stuff and the other is subsystem which is the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was surprised upon starting the game to find 23 separate difficulty settings available to adjust, given how many negative comments and reviews were about "Energy depletes too fast", "Damage is too high", "Payout is too low", etc. -- all things that can be adjusted to your liking. However, I'm finding the default settings to be just fine. You do have to come into it without certain preconceptions. In other trucking or space games with a hauling aspect, it's pretty easy to complete a job, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not my type of game. I've played Euro Truck Simulator and other truck games since the 2000's, but this one doesn't do it for me. I don't get the point of the cramped highways in space. Should be free flying around, some kind of 3d radar somewhere and a map of the stations. Like this is very claustrophobic and confusing. The stations are a maze of pipes that you navigate towards the flashing waypoint. It is not fun to me. Elite dangerous does everything much better than this. Only part that I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good, but it can get boring quickly, feel repetitive, and be frustrating. Some suggestions: I don’t think you should have to dock to get jobs. You should use a tablet or something like that. In Euro Truck Simulator, you open the menu and go to “Jobs,” and the list appears, along with filters for job types, distance, etc. *It could be on the TAB key Going to the stores should be like it is at airports; instead of docking from behind, it could be something that attaches to the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Chill Great potential BUT This game needs workshop support, what could be in this game is a long way off with an indie team. This game would explode in the sim/space gaming community. ALSO OPEN IT UP!!! Jump gating from one hub to the next is extremely boring. I don't care if the planets/stars/outposts are mostly empty, let me park it in orbit or fly by like a real space hauler. Just do it, it's what this game REALLY needs. I don't need space highways with exits yada yada, it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is causing me internal comflicts...... I love the setting, the world created, the feel of flying the rig, the ability to walk around and really get a cozy feeling of your own vehicle and of course the ambience created...... but... There is that "but" i wish wasn't there. I get the idea of energy cells powering your vehicle and the need to replace them once in a while. But combine that with the air filters and the chipsets and suddenly you realise 90% of the money you make each trip…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The beginning bit of this game can be stressful. Making sure your batteries are good, systems are powered, O2 filters are good, oxygen levels are stable, etc. while bouncing from system to system doing jobs. But then you unlock the Scanner upgrade, and the entire game changes. You can scan systems for scrap to go and pickup and sell. Money doesn't become an object really anymore because you can grab random items floating in space to sell on top of doing jobs. You might think that this makes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gathering cargo floating around cabin is only fun first couple of times. This game mechanic makes sense in the beginning, but I can't think of any good reason game doesn't offer cargo belts or something similar.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like fun for one mission or two, then it's... just the same. It tries to be Euro Truck Simulator in space, but it's just... sluggish and boring.

There are just a few little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that utterly spoil this otherwise amazing game for me. And it's general lack of consideration for the players time, or simply the game mechanics working in such a way that it just takes longer than it should to do something. neutral · AI labelView post →Very cool idea. Controls well with HOTAS which is why I got it and tried to get into it. It jut doesn't perform that well and there are too many loading screens when it compares to other space games. I thought I would like this but I think I would rather be a space trucker in Rebell Space Outlaws or Elite Dangerous
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's the thing, this game has a lot of potential, and is already got some really good ideas, but some things need to be addressed, Number one is less warp gates, not saying they should remove them, but systems should be bigger and not just going from warp gate to warp gate. More distance between warp gates along with a different challenge in each system as opposed to each sector. Bermuda Point and Hell's pocket are perfect examples of this, big shortcuts, long distance between warp gates,…

positive · AI labelView post →This game is not bad and has its own fun. But until I completed a specialist courier quest which named "Lost & Found", I cannot save the game because of infinite saving bugs. Then, I cannot progress my game anymore because I dont have any earlier backup save. I saw some online discussion and this issue are still not fixed even after 1 year. So, bad dev.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even if stated that it supports peripheral controls, its totaly not what you think it will be. There are no axis support at all, its just full speed or no speed, nothing inbetween, so no joystick is really well useable at all. Doesnt make fun like that, even if its a great Idea. Input always feels like a hhuuuuuge delay, so you literally got almost no control.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so much potential! But I wouldn't recommend it, not now. Star Trucker is a very interesting game, and one that I find interesting, but it feels quite dead to me. The system's are quite small and the loop of going from warp gate to warp gate is quite interesting. I also found myself confused with where to go at times, and think a HUD navigation system would be a good idea. A thing I particularly did not like is the movement. I found the control scheme to be ok, but everything…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has cracking visuals and immersive management mechanics but falls short as a true "space trucker". As lots have already pointed out, so much of the game is spent in warp. Of course space is big, but games like Elite Dangerous is far bigger but you're not spending so much time in a loading screen. The ability to travel within systems would make things more fun. There's also the lack of lateral controls. How on earth do you release a spacecraft simulator without the ability to move…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing Star Trucker across multiple systems over several months. I love the game when it works. But there is a serious, reproducible, unfixed bug that has made it unplayable for me every single time, and I'm writing because the data here is too consistent to ignore. The bug: Star Trucker runs fine for a few hours on a fresh launch — locked 60fps, utilization under 80% across all hardware. After one or more sessions, performance permanently degrades. FPS drops to under 45 with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I picked this game after finishing Outer Wilds because I had been yearning for more games with space flight and this sounded cute/charming and low stakes. I ended up having a lot of fun with the game even though I wouldn't say it quite scratched the itch I was hoping it would- Star Trucker feels more like a game about truck driving in space than it does space flight with trucks, if that makes any sense. That said, I loved the sci-fi truck driving simulator aspects of it all. Managing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to leave a positive review for this game. I really do. But I cannot in good faith recommend this game for a couple of reasons centered primarily around optimization. The story is great, the gameplay loop is great. As you can see I played it for 51 hours. I had fun with almost all of that. But the hoops I had to jump through just to almost get a stable 60 FPS (that frequently dipped down to 50FPS.) I honestly should not have to set a frame limit and enable Vsync in my GPU control panel,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a 2 year old game it is still riddled with janky mechanics. The manual says one thing and the reality and the way the world feels is not the best. Shame for what is fun but becomes annoying
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I was a kid I really wanted to be a trucker. I even got up early on Sundays to watch a TV show called 'Travel Well, Trucker'. Later I lost interest and the likes of Euro Truck Simulator never really picked my interest. But a trucksim in space? That might be my cup of tea! And this is more simulator than a casual game about trucking. Playing on the recommended difficulty will show you that. With the meagre gains at the start and the game barely explaining its systems to you, it can feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been into job sims for quite a while now, and i can safely say Star Trucker is my all-time favorite game in this category. The premise is super simple but it is taken without any irony, and with a lot of love in all the details. The visuals of course, but also the music, the thunk sound when you put in a new battery, and even the cozy leather squeak when you get behind the wheel <3 I'll follow Monster & Monster from here to Vexmont !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Warp simulator. Most of the time you're warping which is a loading screen the driving part is very little actually unless you just drive in circles around around an area. Wish it was the other way around.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this silly little game (Star Trucker)
positive · AI labelView post →The concept of the game is okay, is basically a truck simulator in a space setting. What is NOT OKAY, is the tediousness of the whole repair/system management. The concept is great, but the execution is not. Batteries should be rechargeable, and buying them from the shops should be used only for upgrading to have more capacity. God forbid you try to do some immersion ad rest in a dedicated parking area for, you know, sleep.... because if you do so everything will continue to discharge! I tried…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OK game. Kinda regret the 26 ish bucks I paid for it tho. I feel like there should be some unpredictable thing that happens, like the time warp could get shut down and you could be boarded by pirates. But then like something to defend yourself with would be cool. Also, the ability to repair maybe the engines, not just patch them up, and maybe even able to buy completely new ones and either be able to install those yourself or have someone else do it. Also, things like getting pulled over would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far I've been really enjoying Star Trucker, it's simultaneously relaxing and a little stressful but it strikes the balance really well! I just wish there was a pause feature for the side jobs, because it's difficult to manage your money when you need to do deliveries but can't because the side jobs can expire. I think if you could pause them, it would negate this issue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely fun, comfortably challenging, entertaining voice acting, great music, beautiful scenery and atmosphere. The campaign ("side jobs") is kindof short; I finished it in about 20 hours without rushing, but it does end teasing future expansion. (To be fair, that's 20 hours on my second save slot; I spent a little over 6 hours learning the basics on my first save slot.) Controlling the truck is a pain at first but it's really rewarding developing the skill to maneuver it effectively.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried a game called Star Trucker and its kinda neat but I've found two weird issues with it First being that, well, the FTL gates kinda ruin the game. You just, teleport instantly from town to town, meaning the whole Long Highway Haul fantasy in trucking is just gone
negative · AI labelView post →simply beautiful and relaxing. 10/10: Not my Genre, not my Taste, no Combat involved... but Immersion and the Music make me come back very often, the Game simply feels awesome in every little detail.
