What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 215 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (427 of 505 positive).
Players enjoy the unique concept of running a tabletop game store with mini painting and in-store gameplay. [1][2][3] Some players criticize the repetitive gameplay and issues with employee AI and mini assembly. [4][5][6]

TL;DR: I can't recommend a game that has had the same issues in early access, and the devs have done nothing to address them. I wanted to love this game so much. I was very excited to play this after the surprising announcement of 1.0, however, I quickly learned that they have not changed much of anything from the last version of Early Access to 1.0 besides adding more inventory for you to purchase. There are still …

A work in progress that needs more work and progress. A good start but very slow pace and missing critical features. Worth keeping an eye on. Recommended, but only for very patient and EA-tolerant players. Whenever a game hits a good formula, that formula becomes very, very popular very quickly. So, when TCG Card Shop Sim caught lightning in a bottle, it was inevitable that lots and lots of similar titles would …

As someone who is a hobbyist...this game is fantastic! Managing the store is rad, but then you get caught up in the gameplay loop of popping open boxes of your own inventory to build and paint, then selling the minis for profit or using them to play the game. And for a shop simulator, playing the actual "game" you're selling is great fun. Chill, relaxing loop, lots of fun.

I'm only like 4 hours in, and it's incredible. Sure, plenty of small issues and QoL features needed, and it'd be nice to have some better customizations, bla bla bla. But this game delivers on its premise in a way other similar shop games simply don't. You ACTUALLY get to use what you have. You can get miniatures, paint them, and PLAY THE GAME WITH THEM!!! I tried that GARBAGE TCG shop sim the other day, and that …

Watched a few videos on the game, it looked very promising, so the plunge was taken; so far so good. The character models are excellent, it's a very unique idea, and there's anticipation for what is to come!
Summarised from 34 of the 265 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 13, 2026. How summaries are made
79% of the 215 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Tabletop Game Shop Simulator. The complaint that keeps coming up: repetitive core gameplay loop after a few sessions. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun so far but unrealistic, too many women walking into my shop and not enough sweaty neckbeards harassing them

neutral · AI labelView post →Does not deliver on the fantasy of a tabletop store; mechanics work like a collectable card game store, with blind boxes of parts of miniatures that do not match (ie. a box can contain a soldier's leg, a demon's head, and a dog's torso)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At the beginning it’s genuinely enjoyable — you’re tinkering with layouts, collecting minis, and slowly growing your shop. Painting minis and watching your business take shape scratches a nice creative itch. However, after a handful of sessions it starts feeling very repetitive. The core gameplay loop doesn’t evolve much, and once you hit around level 25 (after about 4 play sessions), most of the tasks just loop with diminishing excitement. The novelty of opening packs and managing shelves…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fantastic to see a retail simulator based around miniature games, but this game as it is right now is.... very rough around the edges compared to similar offerings. The walking speed of all NPCs is akin to molasses. Why is my base walking speed faster than everyone else? It makes waiting for my staff and customers at the start of the day pointlessly frustrating. Staff can spawn on the outskirts of the map and it takes them forever to arrive at the shop, arriving multiple hours after I've…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this concept way more than TCG simulator, but ohhh boy. This game feels like it's still early access. So many bugs with the little time I've played it. One bug was a empty box being stuck on the floor with no ability to interact with it. Not a huge deal, but definitely immersion breaking. What killed this for me more than the rest is the constant rubber banding? I use a question mark, because I can't tell if it's that or stuttering. I played around with my settings for a bit and couldn't…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Final review after the 1.0 release. Abandoned Early Access game, with a "1.0" shoved out the door full of bugs and broken promises. Don't be mistaken, this game isn't finished and anywhere near a 1.0, but the devs have already moved on to their next shop sim slop. The most egregous of these bugs is the employee AI, to keep it brief: it's terrible. They don't stay on task (except for the register thankfully), and the worst of the worst is their inventory management. There's a persistance bug…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →73 hours in this game. Got to level 40, top of leaderboard, and all achievements. Honestly game is pretty fun and I enjoyed it. First thing I will say first about it is (Do Not Compare it to TCG Card Shop Simulator). This game is still a work in progress and I am reviewing it based on what I have played in the version .13.11. I can really see the devs putting a lot of effort in this game. Firstly I love the table top aspect of the game. Setting down play tables and painting tables…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was literally in a store like this today! When I saw this game, I knew that I must create my own tabletop games store. It's such an old-school vibe, when you and your friends gather every Saturday evening to play Monopoly. Unlike other shops, here we'll sell not just goods, but a source of positive emotions and bright memories for a lifetime. Also, in terms of gameplay, simulators are getting better every time. Besides the usual assortment management and cashier duties, we will assemble…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really loving the simulator boom over the recent years because of games like this, obviously I want to build paint and sell minis without spending thousands of IRL dollars. Couple feedback points I'd like to share but other than that great game and looking forward to future updates.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's no way to make this super constructive. This game is just.... bad. There's no grace, no finesse, no appeal. They didn't even bother to take the time to make opening and closing doors have animation. Customers leave trash on the floor, which is fair enough, but why would that trash be an empty bean tin? At least make the assets that are being used make sense in the context that they're being used. The sounds are painful, even to my very poorly working ears, they're bad. Massive…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game used to be a fun little figurine shop but now it is a frustrating, infuriating and buggy mess. The employees are useless for stocking shelves. You unlock your first employee at level 10 at which point you have at least 15 items your selling and constantly having to stock. The employee is giving a daily allowance to stock shelves, the shelves have to be completely out of stock to be stocked by the employee and then they will waste your money, buy something that you already have fully…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beta player. Add ~30 hours to my playtime. TLDR: Good Devs. Wargame is playable. Three factions. Employees can run the register, stock shelves, AND restock on a budget. Store gets very pretty as you level. Lots of levels & unlockables. Store room allows you to shelve entire boxes of product, not individual items. The devs were highly responsive and adding new features consistently through beta. They're very positive, professional, and fun! Feedback was listened to and changes were added to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game rushed out of early access with a lack luster customization for your store and a ton of bugs and lacking a lot of QOL things and not much in new content at all. In the same post as the 1.0 release the company stated they are moving to make a new game and supposedly leaving a team to keep this game going with fixes and and new content which i highly doubt this game is dead and the company is moving on to their new cash grab game

neutral · AI labelView post →This is an interesting one. I don’t think I’ve ever gone from “wow, I’m really vibing with this!” to “wow, this needs a lot of work” so rapidly with a simulator before. I feel like this game is doing a lot of things really well, but there’s also a significant number of issues that keep me from truly enjoying it. Overall, they dropped the ball on quality of life. That's kind of my main take away. It's visually beautiful, I like the premise well enough--tabletop games are not my thing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It can be fun but is also way too grindy. Pretty sure the developer doesn't even playtest the game. There's no way they could consider this acceptable, at least i hope not. Most of us know what this game is, a supermarket simulator clone that separates itself with a warhammer twist. You open boxes of components until you complete a figure, then paint it in a very boring minigame. then place it on a sales shelf to watch it sit there for days because the customer AI isn't interested in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is it a business ownership simulator worth your money? Yes. Is it a GREAT business ownership simulator? HELL no. I'm writing this the moment after I've gotten all of the achievements after 65 hours of selling expensive plastic to upper middle class Warhammer and Stargrave nerds. While this game is certainly more polished than other simulator games on the market...it's still has the same and new problems that simulator games have. THE GOOD Tabletop shop like I said is a very polished…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a good sim game. The concept is very alike tcg, but better graphics. It has a nice minigame to assemble and paint the figures, but after the first 20 times it gets very repetetive, and the only way to make the process faster is by dedicating a whole employe to do it. The battle game is a cool idea. The restocker ai is extremly ♥♥♥♥, even after the patches. - It gets stuck in trashcans. - Fully stops working and just walks arround doing nothing. For some reason empty shelves with an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was rushed to 1.0 faster than a politician chasing clout. Your employees can still only paint to your best personal standard on a table by table basis. Their AI is still abysmal and will often never restock certain items even if you give them enough money to fill the store three times over. The list of missing QOL features and bug fixes is longer than my leg. If you haven't already paid, wait until a seriously deep discount, or until there's an update. If there is one.…

neutral · AI labelView post →If you like other sims like TCG Card Shop Sim, or Supermarket Sim, this scratches the itch! I'm not a irl fan of miniatures myself, but the game (and the random miniature blind boxes) is enjoyable. I will say my only complaints are the actual miniature building, and the painting. It's a big part of the hobby irl I suppose, but I think a toggle option in-game to automatically/instantly complete the builds and painting will remove a LOT of tedium.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first simulator that scratches that itch the same way the CardShop Simulator did. I don´t mind the mystery boxes, which would suck in reallife but helps scratching that itch the way trying to look for cards does. I love that you can play the game itself too and I like that there are some nice touches. Like the cleaning, or that there are more soundtracks that alternate so you don´t hear the same music everyday. The models are diverse (less copy paste than other sims) and I like that it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game and am having fun...the only issues i have are with the Employees. I dont know if its a bug or what but when they order items they only restock one shelf. I have two to three shelves per item and they only refill one...and on top of that they always leave 1 item in the box, I have to constantly go back and take the 1 item out of the box and put it on a shelf they wont refill, so then i can recycle the box. But other than that having fun with the game, the minis, and the minigames.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Same bad employee AI and all your inventory is gone. None of the issues from EA were addressed. Some new products were introduced and some shop customization (which is pretty bare bones only 5 or 6 wall choices and 5 floor choices not counting the original floor. This game should have stayed in early access until they finished working on the numerous bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the better shop simulator games on the market, which will hopefully only continue to improve with more tweaks and updates... On a technical level, this is sort of two games in one. There's the game of building and managing your shop, and then there's the miniature's game within the game. I'm not going to get too into the miniature's game itself; though, it is worth noting how fun addictive the opening of mini boxes for your collecting needs can be. The table top game itself is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Things I'd like to see. - a vending machine for snacks/drinks - some rugs at different levels that reduce the chance for clients to bring in mud. - a trash/recycling bin that clients can use in the store to automatically dispose of garbage. - Music playlists that can be bought that change the vibe of the store - Different lighting that can be bought. - Let us use the front of the cash register for small items like dice. - Bobbleheads/plushies/mugs - Terrain box - A self checkout for clients at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Selecting any item in this game does not feel smooth, it feels like the hitboxes are way too small. Does not feel nearly as smooth as other shop simulators. Negative until the game mechanically feels better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has the Megumi to be good. Seems like the devs wont put more effort to make this game better. its a shame because it was one of the best on the market.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AI is pretty bad for employees, they just updated the employees and now the employee that stocks the shelves get's locked in animations or is stuck trying to use the trashcan in the storage area. Even if you fire the employee and hire another, they get stuck in a day. This would be acceptable in an Early Access but since this is not, i expect better. Also - Devs need an option to skip the assembling animation, or just make it required for the first time and then allow us to mass assemble…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Save your money. This game has WAY too many crashes and bugs in its current version. I am 20-something hours in, shop level 42, day 132 and I am crashing two or three times each in-game day. I have all my graphics settings set to be as stable as I can and it isn't really helping at all. Employees are barely able to keep my store stocked on a single item, don't even try to sell two things at once. I really wish we could assign an employee to open boxes as a job, it just is tedious to open…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game enjoys some nice variety in game play: buying/selling your inventory to earn money, money to buy your own boxes and to start assembling your miniatures, painting mechanic and ability to play with the miniatures against customers. However, this game also feels very clunky with AI issues, re-stocking and management issues, limitations on decor placement and nerfing of the in-game game just to name a few. Although during early release the bugs and limitations were tolerated and game was…

neutral · AI labelView post →I honestly love this game so much already. It’s not just another asset-flip simulator like so many others these days. It has charming visuals, it feels smooth to play, and you can actually play against your customers! Opening boxes, assembling figures, and painting them is incredibly fun. The way the employees work is also impressive. You can assign them to different tasks, and if, for example, they are set to work at the cash register but no customers are there, they’ll automatically switch…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game in which we will feel not just a player, but the real owner of our own board games store. Every element in the game world is designed to inspire our creativity and excitement, from filling shelves with boxes of various games to gluing and coloring miniatures that can later be sold, thereby making our store unique and attractive. Updating the game products on the shelves of our store will also lead to its expansion and attract new more demanding customers and players. High revenue…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's kind of addictive. There's something special about setting up your own tabletop “Warhammer” store. The game part with coloring in the characters is well done. The clientele is a bit unrealistic, though. So many female buyers in this nerd shop, it's funny :) Level 10 is still within reach, so you can finally hire your first employee, which makes things a lot easier. From level 10 onwards, it gets really tough until level 20. Too monotonous
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First game demo from Next Fest: Tabletop Game Shop Simulator. So far I give this about 7.5/10. It has some serious potential to push even higher. positive · AI labelView post →Im not enjoying it as much as I would like. For some reason I find it more repetitive than other shop manager games. Its still fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a difficult one to review, because if what some people online have said is true, it seems like the developers may have "finished development," and it still feels a bit limited overall in terms of content. But that being said, if you're a fan of this genre, I feel like I can recommend it at this price point, and especially if it's on sale. There are two things this game does that are unique for the genre that I feel really give it some extra points: 1) The mini-game involving painting…

Opening mystery packs, assembling and painting minis, and running a tabletop shop is really fun. Unfortunately, the employee AI is a total mess.
