The game looks great, the story is interesting so far, and the core gameplay is fun. However, 6 hours in and I still have no clue what the game wants me to do. - You do a few fights, die, and repeat. - You earn several currencies, but once you spend them, they disappear after the run and you start the next one broke again. - You unlock new cards and abilities, yet it barely seems to matter — enemies scale too, so …

Great storytelling, lore, art, voice acting, and music, especially the music and voice acting, which were really immersive for me. The gameplay can feel a bit slow and awkward, and since it’s a roguelike, you’ll need to die multiple times to learn and understand the classes you pick. Every run will be different, even if you choose the same class. All in all, I enjoyed the game and highly recommend it to anyone who …

Great game even though there are no major changes to the formula. Tainted Grail: Conquest plays exactly from what is expected from a roguelike deckbuilder. You accumulate cards after every battle, choose a passive every time you level up, collect consumable items, and encounter some difficult progression choices. What sets it apart from your typical roguelike are the RPG elements. Through your tries to finish your …

I played Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon so of course I got to get another game set in the same universe because I love the lore so much. It's a deck builder thats pretty similar to Slay the Spire. But in my opinion I like this game better. There's more of a coherent story with side quests. Also great for idiots like me, it has an easy mode. I'm more of a casual gamer, and I prefer not to have too much of a challenge. …

This game is great. Fantastic music that I listen to years later. interesting deck building mechanics, a unique world style that sets it apart from other deck builders. the lore is interesting for those who want to dive into it.

There's a billion games out there, the new Doom is mid, the original Oblivion is far more charming and Game Pass doesn't even have Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. Fuck them.

neutral · AI labelView post →I reviewed Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon! A shameless replica of The Elder Scrolls, it even copied a litany of bugs. Weirdly? I like this utter mess, despite my better judgment! At the very least, it's exactly as good as a Bethesda game! Read more: www.thejimquisition.com/post/tainted...

positive · AI labelView post →As it's finally out of early access (it did it Baldur's Gate 3 style - act 1 only in EA, the rest of the game all at once) I finally took a first poke around Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon Very Elder Scrolls style, but with better combat and a fun setting. A very black metal take on arthurian legend
positive · AI labelView post →Last night was pizza and chill and playing a bunch of the new Tainted Grail game to kick off the long weekend. Good times.
positive · AI labelView post →The team at Awaken Realms sent over the collector's edition for Tainted Grail. Absolutely sick Arthur statue, wide mouse pad that's the in-game map, art book, displate, journal, and more. Arthur has already found a home high up on a shelf out of the reach of children!
neutral · AI labelView post →Good lord, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon sent me this gigantic gift. It's huge, what the hell even is in it?? A thread. The game just came out into 1.0, have you played it yet?
neutral · AI labelView post →Maybe my build sucks or mad cuz bad, but Tainted Grail has the most miserly stamina system I‘ve ever experienced in a modern game. I mean, look. I am far, far away from being athletic and even I could swing a short sword without getting out of breath more than my character.
negative · AI labelView post →Great list! How crazy it is that we could still keep going, adding stuff like Citizen Sleeper 2, Sultan's Game, Rift Wizard 2, Tainted Grail, Fantasy Maiden Wars, The Last Sovereign, Inazuma Eleven, Deadeye Deepfake Simulacrum, Approaching Infinity, The Necromancer's Tale... And 2025 isn't over!
neutral · AI labelView post →Anecdotal industry observations: So I got stuffed with this box and it has been, my friends, a journey. When this game went to crowdfunding, I was very excited to back it. The original Tainted Grail was perhaps one of the hardest pans we have ever done. We loathed that game. It was not good. (1/?)

neutral · AI labelView post →Yesterday I had a revelation. A game called Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon just released a demo and it feels as if The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Dark Souls had a baby. And it feels great to play.
positive · AI labelView post →Tainted Grail is a game in the Bethesda tradition, which is to say it combines a lot of fun with some bullshit.
neutral · AI labelView post →💛: Tainted Grail is a good game because it contains a lot of TF in it. Corruption from the Wyrdness into deformed body horror beasts. A magic spell that turns bandits to cheese. Revenge TF turning a horrible person into a sentient figurine. And even a human who experiences bliss being a pig.

neutral · AI labelView post →Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon definitely nails that Elder Scrolls stealth archer vibe. I seriously love this game SO much. Pure fun, dark and badass, completely unpretentious, and is such a great couch console experience. Warning: Video game death ballet in 3... 2... 1...
positive · AI labelView post →This is in reference to Tainted Grail, a Skyrim-alike RPG which doesn't seem to have gotten a lot of attention. It's fun, but also it is the kind of game where you fight peasants who do hit you with the "you fight like a milkmaid".

neutral · AI labelView post →So it seems that even when I find a game I really do enjoy (Tainted Grail Avalon), I just totally lack the fucks to keep playing it. Like the combat is fun enough, I like picking herbs, but I can't bring myself to pay attention enough to even keep track of what I'm doing.
neutral · AI labelView post →Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a very solid video game so far. Some performance issues, crashes and general graphics aside, this is a game I feel Bethesda Game Studio fans should play. I can’t put it down. The world is begging for you to explore it. Giant swords in the distance? 🔥

neutral · AI labelView post →Finished the Tainted Grail demo. Hybrid of Skyrim, Gothic and King's field from this Demo alone but still feels very much it's own thing. Also some H.R Giger influence in this game at certain spots which is very interesting. Combat is pretty good and they nailed the aesthetic.

positive · AI labelView post →This. game. is. a. pain. to. finish. How questing works in Tainted Grail defies every good practice and lessons learnt from other games. There is a good reason why NPCs in RPG games stay in the same spot or area, so you can come back to them whenever you need. Here, it is all randomized and there is never a way to find whoever or whatever you need. Add to it a fact that quests in this game are not of usual length, not just fetch quests , but they are triple or quadruple fetch quests. You will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bandit in Tainted Grail just shouted, "Tis' but a flesh wound!". I know that is the lowest possible hanging fruit for a fantasy game, and as a reference/quote joke, has been done to death for over a decade, but it still got a chuckle out of me. xD

neutral · AI labelView post →Tainted Grail is pretty fun, and it's got some incredible level design (i <3 side paths, secrets and optional minibosses) but wow this game is, visually, the most 7th gen shit i've seen in years.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am just loving Tainted Grail Avalon. It's the perfect 'dive in, pick some herbs, do a quest or two' in the evening game. It's got the same rhythm as Skyrim, just in a world I don't have memorized at this point. I'm playing a summoning caster on Survival difficulty. Great shit.

positive · AI labelView post →Depends on what you actually want. If it's the first-person RPG experience, there's a handful such as Tainted Grail and Cyberpunk 2077. If it's using a slightly different system or closer to traditional RPG, either the Witcher or BG3 or Expedition 33. But modding... I cannot find any other RPG that gets better if it is modded, as Skyrim -- and Morrowind and Oblivion -- pretty much designed to be modded.

neutral · AI labelView post →Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. It was on my wishlist for awhile, but some of the negative reviews had me thinking it wasn't something I would enjoy. Then I kept seeing comments that it was a good game to play if you like Skyrim. I disagree with that, it's not so much Skyrim vibes than as if Oblivion and Elden Ring had a baby that was into weird creepy shit and obsessed with the Knights of the Round table. It's cool AF and I was absolutely obsessed from the very beginning. I am glad I waited a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I just beat Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon and this showed up on the steam sale page. Okay this is great. I was actually looking for a game just like this last year but couldn't find anything that tickled my fancy. This one hits the spot. The creators definitely have great taste. Huge fan of anything Tainted Grail now. Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror + King Arthur wrapped up in Celtic/Norse Paganism. This is the perfect franchise for someone like me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →started playing Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. I'm 24 hours in and absolutely loving it. it's unbelievable how much some very light tweaks to the Elder Scrolls formula really makes the game feel so much more structured and gives it significantly more depth. huge fan of this and want the DLC

positive · AI labelView post →On top of The Witcher 2 and cleaning up trophies in Halo, I’ve started Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. I’m actually blown away! This game is a ton of fun and is basically a darker/moodier Elder Scrolls. About 5 hours in at level 11. Skills level the same as TES but there’s no level cap!
positive · AI labelView post →Tainted Grail has rekindled my faith in the gaming industry. It kept me glued to it and I found myself sacrificing sleep just to see what was around the next corner or over the next hill. This was a true hidden gem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. Solid game, very fun, a bit jank but I say that with complete affection. I think the story kind of didn't quite live up to the strong showing the early acts had, by the end, but I still had a good time.
