Despite not actually being a Borderlands game, Tales from the Borderlands is one of the best stories within this franchise, and one of the better episodic narrative games I've experienced. The game is presented in 5 separate episodes and follows the main protagonist, Rhys, a Hyperion employee who goes rogue after being denied a company promotion and being demoted to being a janitor. Instead he teams up with some of …

Came for the guns, stayed for the feelings. Did NOT sign up to get emotionally destroyed by a Telltale game set in the Borderlands universe, and yet here we are. The writing goes absolutely crazy hard. Fiona and Rhys carry this thing like it's their part time job and honestly the side characters are no slouches either. Story hits different when you actually care who lives or dies. Is it peak Borderlands chaos? Yeah. …

What I didn't expect from Tales from the Borderlands was how much emotion it would have underneath all the jokes. I think Tales from the Borderlands is one of Telltale's strongest games because it understands something incredibly important: you don't need complicated gameplay to make an adventure memorable. Yes, it's funny. Sometimes ridiculously funny. But what makes the game work is that the humor is balanced with …

The Game is a Masterpiece in every way, Story, Soundtrack, Writing, Characters. It's unforgiveable what Gearbox has done to the Characters from this Game, I sometimes wish we could just go back to the time this and Pre Sequel released and get the true Borderlands 3 that was teased at the End of that Game. This is actually the wrong Timeline.

Another Telltale must‑play. I just wish the mainline Borderlands games had even half of this game’s narrative quality instead of being a loot‑driven snoozefest. Also, it’s funny that the spin‑off ends up having the best Borderlands intro ever (Episode 4). P.S. Hire the mysterious Vault Hunter. It’s worth it.

There's been a few misses in the 2K sports line up as well. Let's see if they can do a new game without resorting to returning to Rapture like they did with Infinite and Burial at Sea.

Plus what was woke about Medal of Honor above and beyond? The plots basically a copy of the very first MoH game back in the 90’s

positive · AI labelView post →It's a lot of fun - Tales from the Borderlands (2014) Review. It's too sweet a game to write anything bad about. If I had to nitpick, I would say the material is there for a great story but the plot meanders a bit. It's basically a quest to find a Macguffin, it's funny and chaotic and a lot of the charm is due to the characters interacting with one another but as for the plot itself... it's kind of boring. One thing leads to one thing then we're doing something else, it doesn't feel as tightly…

neutral · AI labelView post →I already answered another title but I also want to say **Tales from the Borderlands.** I hated this "game" so much that when I was finished I was genuinely offended by what I'd just experienced. First off, it's meandering and uninteresting, with characters that *scream* personality at you, not in a good way. And it's filled with the illusion of the choice, the episodic nature of the project immediately making actual choice a non-possibility. But worst of all, it had the audacity to present…

neutral · AI labelView post →You can play this even if youre not a Borderlands fan, easily one of the best written Telltale games ever. Its such a shame how they treated the cast of this game in BL3, absolute character assasinations all over. Rhys is genuinely that guy and deserves everything.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed Tales from the Borderlands because it brings a fresh concept to the franchise and focuses much more on story. Even though the story itself doesn’t really expand the main Borderlands universe, it captures the theme and atmosphere perfectly. It builds a narrative around the idea of the Vaults, the Vault Hunters, and especially the legacy of Handsome Jack, who was the best villain the series ever had. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will ever get another villain as good as him.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For me, Tales from the Borderlands has got to be one of the biggest surprises in the whole series. Instead of focusing on loot and shooting, it tells a story-driven episodic adventure that ends up having some of the best characters and writing in Borderlands. Their back-and-forths are genuinely funny, and over time the group starts to feel surprisingly believable and likable.…
