Tales of Graces is likely the worst RPG I have actually finished in several years. I couldn't write a story this bad if I tried. Not even in the realm of parody could I think up something that was this aggressively asinine. The villain isn't revealed until near the end, which would be fine, except they start trying to make you sympathize with the irredeemable bastard by showing how he had his fee-fees hurt as a …

PLEASE TALES OF THE ABYSS NEXT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With that out of the way, this is a really good remaster. I especially appreciate that there are direction marks now because there are parts of the game like the Wallbridge section that can be an absolute pain to go through. An odd entry to the Tales franchise that is both deeply flawed and considerably underrated. Cons: -World lore is weak. This game definitely has the best combat in the series, hands down. The characters are very likeable, and while the story can feel a bit meh at times, it’s overall definitely worth playing. It’s fun to play but hard to master for sure. The way you chain combos together—whether solo or with your team—is both fun and rewarding. The variety in characters and how they fight is great. The art direction still holds up …

I’ve seen many negative reviews of Tales of Graces calling its story “childish” and its characters “primitive.” While the game is certainly more on a "childish" side and contains serious plot holes,[url=https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198003711145/recommended/738540?tscn=1768480841] having already written about how Tales of Vesperia suffered from a tone-altering English localization, I’m noticing a similar pattern repeating — with similar consequences. Well...for starters, let's talk about this remaster quality. It's 10/10. So far, it's the best Tales of... game on Steam from technical standpoint. In my 100+ hours journey I had ZERO crashes and game played smooth as butter. There's no weird…

This is a good game, i liked it and owned it back when it was on ps3. Figured I'd get it on steam while a sale was going on. Think i paid $28 for it? But the User agreement leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know, not everyone reads the TOS, but i do. Least i skim them. This one (like many others today) removes your God given right to trial. If you have a gripe, a trial among your peers is forfeited from the beginning. Along with other distasteful things like "your data is all ours" and so…

I'm having a hard time enjoying this game. Characters and story are incredibly dull and generic. I'm finding the combat to be really repetitive and the CC system is pretty annoying as it's too restrictive. The titles system also feels quite underwhelming, as a lot of what you unlock is just small stat boosts. The same goes for the crafting, which doesn't feel rewarding at all.

Tales of Graces f ended up being quite an enjoyable treat for me. Although not without any flaws, this may be one of the better games in the Tales series that I have played, and the remaster quality is quite good. Tales of Graces f is a bit more unique compared to some other Tales games, because it starts in early childhood. You follow Asbel and his journey mostly, which starts from a kid and progresses as he grows older. This honestly provided a bit of a fresh look at things, and it added…

Sophie is such a precious little bean. I’ve been a Tales fan for many years, but never got to play Graces before now, so I can’t comment how good this is as a remaster, just as a game itself. Tales games always have this thing where they do some things really well and then other parts let them down. This game is no different. The battle system is super fun and I really loved the characters and Title system. The post battle interactions were great as well as the skits. The story was…

I have very fond memories of playing Tales of games years ago. I remembered them being character-centric JRPGs with simple but fun combo focused combat. I never played Tales of Graces so I figured why not? Oh boy... this game should be more accurately titled Tales of Mid. The characters are mid, the story is mid, the combat is mid, and the power progression sucks. Characters: The only characters that were actually endearing were Cheria, Hubert, and Pascal. Asbel, Sophia, and Richard were…

This is honestly the Tales game I'd purge from my mind to play for the first time all over again! Let me start off by saying that I will mention as little of the story as physically possible because this is one I feel is better experienced through fresh eyes and an open palate. I went into Graces knowing the absolute bare minimum about Asbel and Sophie due to their cameos in other games as well as Gacha appearances. I played this game co-op with a friend of mine, and this is the 6th one we've played through together. My succinct thoughts on this game is "yep, its another Tales game". I could easily see Graces F as being someone's favorite Tales game if it was the first one he played (or maybe the second one). However, with this being the 6th one I've played with a friend of mine, there's not a whole lot I can point to as something Graces F really excels at, or at least does much better than any other…

For context : I have played berseria, abyss, symphonia and arise I personally did not get into this one. I think the characters and gameplay are great, but the story really drags in chapter 4-6. After that the story picks up, but the dungeons and bosses seem like they are designed to waste your time. Also, WAY to many debuffs are just "stunning" your character which just result in you taking a bunch of hits (paralyze, slow, petrification, freeze, etc.). Maybe its just a product of its…

The story is good, the pacing is good, the characters is good, The combat is meh (takes some getting used to). Game is long to finish. You will have 40-80h of main story (avg 60h) with an extra 9th chapter(epilogue who takes 10-20h). Depending on how much farming you do, if you use modifiers that helps you (like double xp, double dmg, double item drop, etc.) There's a lot of conversations mid-adventures, often located at save points and discovery locations. I really hesitated before deciding whether to recommend this game or not. I can only recommend it to people who already enjoy the Tales of series or its combat system, because there isn’t much else worth highlighting. The story is mediocre, and if you’ve played any previous Tales games, there are no real surprises. The cast is also pretty underwhelming. Pascal and Cheria can be funny at times, but that’s about it. The overall tone leans too heavily on the “power of friendship” trope. The…

This is an under-appreciated Tales game with one of the best combat systems in the series. The story and characters are flawed but charming and somewhat complex. Pacing and script could have used some work, and there are darker things that are held back by the age rating. Very much a must-play for Tales fans and a good game for newcomers.

Graces f isn't a bad game, but I think I've outgrown the Tales series overall. Everything feels a little flat in terms of game mechanics, and this story in particular felt a little too juvenile for my taste. The characters in this one didn't feel very interesting, and some of their reactions to things (in particular Asbel and Richard) just felt forced. This game is mainly praised for it's battle system, but I didn't feel anything that truly stood out from other entries. I did like the titles…

Fantastic JRPG, and the quality of life changes added to this remaster are useful. Chief of which; a floating nav icon. I like this entry as much as Tales of Berseria. Both games have fairly easy game systems that value fun over mechanics while also having some voluntary nitty gritty you could take on if wanted. I find Tales of Symphonia and Arise to be better than Graces though, I've enjoyed Tales of Graces more than Tales of vesperia, Legendia and, Abyss. -and I liked all those…

It’s fun to play but hard to master for sure. The way you chain combos together—whether solo or with your team—is both fun and rewarding. The variety in characters and how they fight is great. Let me preface this review by saying I consider myself a big fan of the Tales Series, but I haven't played as many of the games as I would like. I started with Tales of Symphonia when I was in Middle School back in 03 or 04, and I fell in love. It became my favorite game of all time, and still is to this day. I then played Phantasia on the Gameboy a few years later and thoroughly enjoyed it, and appreciated the shared world with Symphonia. Played and beat Tales of the World Radiant Mythology in…

Bland storyline and uninspired setting. Even for a jrpg from 09. The characters are fun at least - it's only saving "grace" (hur hur hur). Can't believe I actually found a tales game too boring to finish.

I kept reading reviews saying "this game is so good" "it only gets better and better", and do you know what? They're all correct! This game is absolutely fantastic, I'm around 3 hours in so far and it's brilliant so far, it keeps getting more dramatic and hard-hitting (dramatic in a good way), it's great, the combat is fun. It's been a long time since I've played a "Tales of" game (I am a long-time fan) I adore it! I hope they keep making games with this kind of quality and writing! I'm maybe…

Starting #ARPGAugust with Tales of Graces F Remastered. I just got to the time skip, and I'm liking it so far! The battle system's really fast paced. And I'm wondering how Hubert's doing in the post time skip world lol

It's not a bad game, just not for me. Reasons: 1. Combat significantly improved over previous Tales games, but still not enjoyable. 4 characters create a mess and you should execute difficult combos in the middle of it. 2. Didn’t like titles system, skills and progression are too fragmented. I like classical tree/orb system from Tales of Xillia. 3. Characters and plot are too naive and childish. Better suit for younger audience.
