Strong no. This game is barely playable. Which is sad, because obviously a lot of passion went into its making. Unfortunately passion cannot fix bad design. Very bad design. The premise is that you are a mystic who must fix a broken timeline by solving puzzles while switching between four seasons. It takes place in a gorgeous countryside, which is peppered with well-researched Slavic folklore. Sounds great, right? …

Remarkably stunning work of art. This is already going to be a contender for my personal Game of the Year. I’m only 4.5hrs into the story, but time flew by so quickly, as I was completely immersed in the dreamlike atmosphere and fascinating lore. It appears that I’ve unlocked less than half of the map so far, and I’m so excited to continue exploring. The nonlinear “weaving in and out of time” storyline is …

Nice and rare folklore game with beautifully expressed Polish mythology. Graphics are nice and detailed. Story is nicely told, unfolds slowly and unlocking pieces of it is very rewarding. Soundtrack is unique and I love that most of vocal parts are in Polish language, that gives a lot of authenticity to the entire game.

This game isn't for everyone. It was made for those interested in history, myths, and old Slavic traditions. If you're curious about how our ancestors lived, what they believed in, and what rituals they performed, you'll find plenty to look at here. Not "the entire culture," of course, but it comfortably covers a good chunk of it. If you're not really into the subject matter, though, the game might feel slow. There is A LOT of walking simulator gameplay and just taking things in. Zero action,…

The game is made by a mere two people and it shows, both for good and bad. The story is fairly interesting, always good to see old folktales, superstition and myths come to life like this. But the story is unfortunately not very well delivered, the dialogue between the characters does not flow well, it doesn't sound like real people and I don't think it's a translation issue. I am impressed that the game is fully voice acted, though their delivery leave something to be desired. There's also…

A beautiful story of the life and love of Mira and Nadimir set in primeval times within the lands inhabited by the Slavs. In many aspects, the narrative is based on Slavic myths, legends and beliefs. We travel through different periods symbolized by the 4 seasons to learn their entire history, and thanks to the lit bonfires we can move between these seasons. The change of seasons is important from the point of view of the story told, as it allows you to unlock passages, complete tasks or light…

A walking sim where you click on fire to learn about questionable voice acting. I guess people are into this, I'm not. Upon looking at other reviews, it looks like they are all bots as like half of the reviews start with using the word "beautiful", which is weird if they aren't bots and just parroting each other. The first puzzle I came across involved looking at notes with numbers and symbols and putting them in order. There was no way to track these notes that I could find so you either had…

Wonderful journe through a turbulent life cycle of a girl, a young man and his father... it ends well, but we can wander and idscover a lot of 'curves' in a route, which could have been linear, if not.. see for yourselves, play it ! It is based on slavic folklore, beutifully set in a landscape in four seasons, which open gates for the player to discover all the stations of them. Highl recommended!

I rarely review games but given what was created with such a small team, I needed to speak up. There has been one other game that left me staring at a black screen after the credits due to having a plot that leaves you a combination of mind-numb and wondering about what you just learned about yourself, and how the world and universe work. Maybe not in a literal sense, since Slavic paganism is a dead religion, but no matter what faith you believe, this game shows the world in a way where many…

I got this game for 50% discount when it was included in one of the Fanatical bundles, so I still got it cheaper than many people who bought it here for a few months, yet up to an extent I still feel that even with 50% discount it is still a little bit too much to ask for. (Maybe I feel that way, because most of the time I only buy a game if it has very high discount) Don't get me wrong, the story worked for me (even though I feel the end is rushed and ends suddenly), you can connect the dots…

The End of the Sun deserves to be played at a leisurely pace to fully take in the amazing surroundings. The slow walking speed is remedied by the run button, but it’s a shame to hurry through this magnificent world. I rarely see games that focus on Slavic folklore, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere, music, and discoveries that came from exploring a world in this setting. While some of the character animation and dialogue could be improved, the graphics were generally well done, and I found the story compelling. A lot of love clearly went into making this game, and that is evident throughout—give it a try if you enjoy narrative exploration games that stray off the beaten path.

The End of the Sun is akin to the fern flower hidden amidst the shadows of many other titles; A hidden silver, if not gold itself, not easily found among the clamor of modern games. Though the tale itself could have lingered longer, the close-up detail of certain objects falls behind other works of its age, and the movement at times feels somewhat archaic, I must still confess that my time spent within this world was truly most pleasant. I’m glad I’ve played it. Not a masterpiece, and with many decisions I would personally label as "questionable", but you can't argue that 1) this game feels like its developers had great, ambitious plans and were truly trying to express either something, maybe even themselves, through their work, and 2) a huge amount of effort and creative ideas is been presented in here, and I would never argue that any chunk of this game was half-as sed or lazy. Game is a narrative walking simulator set in a fantasy world inspired by Slavic culture. I have to admit, that it’s one of the most ambitious and relaxing walking simulators I’ve played in recent years. First of all, we traverse a world that is semi-open and compact. Map has been designed in such a way that, despite its small size, this isn’t noticeable at all; here a path winds around a mountain, there you have to climb somewhere, and somehow the scale “disappears” in the face of this clever…

A beautiful, atmospheric dive into Slavic mythology and village folklore! The End of the Sun is a story-driven exploration game that blends Slavic mythology, folk traditions, and time-travel in a genuinely unique way. The world is packed with cultural details: seasonal festivals, ancestor rituals, symbolic decorations, creatures like drowners, samodivas, and leshys, and references to real Polish folk art and traditions. It feels like walking through a living ethnographic museum, but with…

[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43083373/]Clever games curator review: 8/10. Story-heavy walking sim, plus some easy logic puzzles. Time travel plays a significant role, thus the story is experienced somewhat out of order, almost like the movie Memento, but in more random order. It is set in a medium-sized open world; your goal is to find various fragments of the story in that open world. As you do this you learn the unhappy path that the story is currently following, and then fix…

It's a cute puzzle game that leads you into a fascinating tale of slavic mythology. As the Ashter (sort of a fire gothi) you journey through time and space by following Raróg to fix events and save fates. The gameplay loop involves lots of running there and back again but it's always rewarding because the environment, soundscape of nature, music and singing are all beautiful. Though the riddles are rather easy and mostly rely on memory it's great to watch the story unfold after collecting…

I usually don't leave reviews but I want to support the developer for a job well done and encourage them for the future. End of the Sun is a lovely game with good attention to cultural and symbolic detail. Not too spoilery example; I loved the fact that poppies were specifically growing next weapons and skeletons. The little scene does not draw specific attention to them, but they are still there. And throughout the game I noticed these little, if you you know, details. I'm Polish too and…

Incredibly well executed game. I didn't want too stop playing it was that interesting and fun. The time travel mechanic is one of the best I have seen in a game and is uncomplicated. the paintings you can find around the world are beautiful and soundtrack as well. The animation and voice acting is a bit clunky at times (and the american accents can get a bit grating) but that is to be expected in an indie game. 9/10 would and have recommended!!

Gameplay 10/10 Love the puzzles and looking around for the items I needed, I would have liked to see a bit more gameplay kind of like when we had to take mushrooms and see things a bit differently but considering this is from such a small team I can't complain. The graphics were also very beautiful, the environment was always pleasant to look at and the map was easy to navigate. Bugs & Glitches 10/10 I experienced none, which is rare on a game that is just released. Music 10/10 I bought the…
